The Captain did all he could do to attract the sharks for us and the safety divers made sure we felt safe in the water and had everything we needed. It was a little choppy, but that part was out of their control, so I'm good with it! Overall, 10 out of 10!!

Phenomenal, Once in a Lifetime Experience with the Sharks!

Loved that they are down to earth, invoke conversation with you, dead serious about your safety and constantly staying vigil of your swim out with the sharks. They constantly checked in with you to see how you’re doing from riding to from on the boat, to swimming in the open ocean. It was great to see the sharks get up close to you to make you a bit alert but nothing I could say was dangerous and a close encounter. I will come back to them for sure!! Island view Shark Dive Tour will be the place I’ll be recommending others to go try. Thank you team for a spectacular experience for my son and I.

They were apprehensive before we got there, but once we met our guide, (Alisha), she made us all feel at ease. It was a really enjoyable experience! We didn’t want it to end. The work they do with the dolphins is amazing and the staff is very friendly, welcoming and knowledgeable. Such a great cause and experience. Definitely recommend and would go again. We felt Covid-safe and safe with the dolphins. Such amazing and smart animals.

Great Experience

It was a little rough in the beginning getting used to the waves and the cage up against the boat but once they release you a little it gets a lot easier. There were plenty of sharks and some other animals to check out while inside the cage. Definitely glad we did this.

*COVID Update*
This was one of the top highlights of my group's trip to Oahu. All of us had never been in a shark cage before, let alone see a 12-foot shark in the same water!! I recommend going with North Shore Shark Adventures because the guys are so friendly. Bring cash for tip!
I made online reservations through VELTRA. The time and date I chose online was apparently not available, but they notified me promptly after I booked. They were able to offer another time that worked for my group. I recommend booking for early morning tours because the water is more calm. Sea sickness is not fun, and one person in my group had a terrible experience with it. I felt bad for him.
Our boat had 14 people plus the captain and a deck hand guy. They split the 14 people into 2 groups to go in the shark cage. The shark cage fit my group of 8. We had our snorkel gear, GoPro, and underwater phone cases ready! I recommend bringing towels because it gets cold on the boat ride back to shore. I felt like we were in the cage for a while. It was plenty of time to get to the bottom of the cage, take videos, and see the sharks.
Logistics: meet at Haleiwa Harbor. Parking is free by the restroom. I didn't see any showers there, and there's also no doors in the restroom stalls. Wear shoes that are easy to remove. You won't be wearing them on the boat. I didn't have to bring my reservation or show anyone anything; just told them the name on our reservation.

Highlight of Oahu
Reviewed by: Peter, 2021/06/22Bottom line: This experience was the highlight of our time on Oahu and both of my children (11 and 14) rank it as the most incredible experience of their lives. It really is remarkable.
My 11 year-old was nervous prior to the dive, but her fears were addressed before we even left the harbor. The staff was informative and reassuring. Sam in particular told us exactly what to expect and answered all of our questions. The staff of three on the boat was very respectful toward the ocean and the sharks.
No one tried to up-sell us on products or services during the experience, which was refreshing. The staff took photos of us underwater with sharks and shared them with us at no charge as we returned to the harbor.
You don’t have to be an experienced snorkeler for this... most of our group pretty much floated on the surface the whole time.
Highly, highly recommend. The small group size, informative staff and thrilling experience of freely swimming with sharks was just unbeatable.

So Rad!

The crew was friendly, interactive with everyone, and also very caring and attentive to the folks that didn’t have their sea legs. The day we went, we swam with 3 spinner dolphins, and some bottle nose, then on the way to the coral reef we saw a pod of over 500 dolphins. The snorkel, slide, paddle board spot was rad as well, legit like diving into a nature film. Getting to see a sea turtle in nature was just an amazing end to an already awesome day! To the crew and cpt. Mahalo for such a great adventure!

The sea life was so interesting, wasn’t what I had expected. I highly recommend doing this if you’re interested in ocean life. I saw a live star fish on the bottom and a mortar shell. The guides were also very interesting and funny.

So much FUN! Worth every penny!

I was so excited to see the dolphins- I started hyperventilating a little as I was swimming toward the cree member that was finding the dolphin pods for our group. I didn’t want to cause a fuss or embarrass myself - so I just tried to calm myself and was promptly helped by another crew member who saw me and helped me to relax and calm my breathing so I could continue swimming. After watching the dolphins for several minutes under the water- they started showing off for us and jumping out of the water. It was thrilling. We stayed in the water for 20-30 min it seemed and I was amazed by the beauty of it all. Then we all returned to the boat - and we’re offered snacks and water and we traveled to a reef where we got back into the water and saw many fish and a sea turtle and snorkeled around looking at all the sea life as the captain anchored the boat and crew members inflated a large slide on the boat. The photographers were very attentive- and if you paid for a photo package- they made sure they took every picture possible of you. I’m 51 and I had a blast on the slide along with my daughter who is 19. Finally, when it was time to go- we were offered food again as the crew entertained us with dancing and music all the way back to shore. We returned to our hotel by 1pm (6 hours after the start) WORTH EVERY PENNY!! We crashed the rest of the day having had so much fun! THANK YOU TO YOU ALL!!

We learned to snorkel. We saw many beautiful fish while in the water, attracting many by using the fish food we bought and scattering it around. While on board we learned a bit about the Catamaran we were on and how it was sailed. The sights were identified and all our questions were answered by the knowledgeable seaman. They offered many fun facts as well along the way. They were alway alert to our needs, assuring that we had fun and stayed safe. When the dolphins appeared, the nature and habits of the creatures were discussed, The differences between the type of dolphin following the boat and other dolphins was made. We were fortunate enough to have a sea turtle come and check us out as well. The people we had on board with us were friendly and polite and enjoyed the trip as well. I heard no complaints from anyone. I would recommend this company for this adventure to anyone who wants to have a fun snorkeling trip with a great crew, and an adventure that is safe and informative.

Amazing Day!
Reviewed by: Heather, 2021/02/28The experience on this trip was amazing. We are avid snorkelers and love the ocean and animals so our expectations were high. The crew was friendly, fun, kind, (even when we had to be reminded of the safety rules because we got a bit excited when we saw the dolphins) professional, talented and explained the rules and safety precautions very well. We saw a large pod of dolphins as we swam in the bluest of water, sighted whales, snorkeled with tropical fish and two turtles and cruised down the gorgeous West coast listening to Hawaiian music. Magical. Group tours have there frustrations because of the number of people trying to see things at the same time but as far as group tours go this was one of the best we have done! We appreciated the Aloha we received from all the crew! You will not regret going on this trip! Mahalo to all the crew and Tommy who greeted us on the docks.

I couldn't imagine it any better.
Reviewed by: Flo, 2020/12/30I couldn't imagine it being any more amazing. The tour guides were all really professional and a safety diver made sure we didn't accidentally swim into the boat. We got very good diving glasses as well. The sharks themselves were really calm and didn't show any aggression at all and none of us got afraid once they did show up. If i had to describe it, I'd say it feels a bit like standing in front of a cow, a horse, or a dolphin. You know they are multiple times as big as you and could easily kill you, but there is no danger as they simply don't behave like that. And the same goes for the sharks.
