オアフ島 熱帯雨林ハイキング 初心者～中級者向け ＜英語ガイド＞
野生のマダラヤドクガエルを観察出来ました！

2年前に「マノア滝ハイキングツアー」に参加してなかなか良かったので、今回は違うツアーに…と思ってこのツアーを選びました。
熱帯雨林の自然を満喫したいというのに加えて、出来たらハワイに移入されて野生化しているマダラヤドクガエルとジャクソンカメレオンの姿を見てみたい希望もあったのです。
日本語ガイドでないというので一抹の不安はありましたが、まあ何とかなるだろうと思って参加しました。
僕の他にはカリフォルニアから来た母子３人組。ガイドはテリーさんと言うハワイ生まれの方でした。
現地に着いて「マダラヤドクガエルとジャクソンカメレオンが見たい。」と言うと流石にちょっと驚いた風情でしたが、「マダラヤドクガエルは多分いると思うよ。カメレオンはいるにはいるが、動きがゆっくりしていて見つけづらいんだ。」と言ってくれました。
目的地は実はマノア渓谷の近くで、マノア滝トレッキングとはルートも目的の滝も違うものの、よく似たコースです。今回のコースの方がちょっと狭くて勾配も強く、難易度が高いかなと思いますが、決して厳しいコースではありません。
テリーさんは、植物の名前だけでなく、由来、更にはハワイの植生の歴史まで丁寧に説明してくれました。ただ、完全にネイティブ・イングリッシュなので、聴き取って理解するのはちょっと大変かもしれません(^_^;)
そして、嬉しい事にマダラヤドクガエルを同行者の男の子が見つけてくれ、写真に収める事が出来たのです！
冒頭にマニアックな発言をしたものだから、ガイドさんだけでなく、同行者も一緒になって探してくれたおかげです。
滝に辿り着いた時の達成感もありましたし、何と言っても念願のヤドクガエルを見られたのだから、大満足です。残念ながらジャクソンカメレオンは見つけられませんでしたが、参加してよかったと思っています。

Awesome awesome service. I booked a charter motor coach to take my herd of 15 people from Waikiki to Aulani. There were two pickup locations at Waikiki. Motor coach arrived early, picked us all up and brought us to Aulani safely. Driver was very nice. Plenty of room for our luggage.

If I had it to do over....

We had two days and one night in Oahu. We mainly went to see Pearl Harbor. Decided the best use of our time was a customized circle island tour. Pros - on time, clean van, pleasant driver. Cons - Spent the first 15 minutes debating whether or not we had paid for a full day tour vs half day. Resolved. In advance, we reviewed the standard circle island tours offered, researched each stop, made a list of what was of most interest to us and presented that to the driver when he asked what we wanted to see. He interjected his opinion (and I think preferences), skipped over things we wanted to see, somewhat criticized our choices by saying the Byodo-In Temple was a tourist trap, wasted our time on a hike to see a waterfall at a garden and then insisted we needed to stay on time and had us turn around about 5 minutes from reaching the waterfall to leave. In hind sight, we should have just walked the streets of Waikiki. Probably could have gotten a better tour out of a taxi service.

冒険のようなハイキングでした！
でも安全に行き帰りすることができました
途中、たびたびガイドさんが植物や動物について説明してくれて、興味深かったです。
英語での説明で、参加者もほとんど日本人はいませんが、英語の勉強にもなるし、英語でのコミュニケーションも良い経験になりました。
お迎えは予定より20分遅れくらいでちょっとハラハラしましたが、
のんびり待ってたらちゃんと来て探してくれました。
帰りも親切に送ってくれて良かったです！

Our first scheduled tour was cancelled last minute for unknown reasons, but luckily we were able to reschedule for later in our vacation.
Anyways, it was pretty fun. The jeep was closed-topped and air conditioned; fairly comfortable.
Tour guide was great; laid back and flexible.
We didn't really spend much time at the Dole plantation. We didn't go to a coffee plantation, but did stop at a macadamia shop. We didn't stop at Byodo temple. We skipped lunch, but did stop at a fruit stand. We stopped at several scenic points of interest, but as expected, a lot of the time was spent getting from place to place. We did do a small hike, which I guess I might have missed that in the description as I was unprepared..bring shoes!
Decent tour if you prefer a small group (we were paired with one other couple).

We rented a private tour of Oahu after we disembarked the cruise ship. It was the best way to see the island and hear interesting facts and history! Pua was amazing with her knowledge and we enjoyed a stress-free visit around the island. It was the perfect way to travel some back roads!!

ハワイはただのビーチだけと思っていたのですが
このような熱帯雨林を
幼稚園児でも歩けるぐらいの距離と難易度で歩け
とてもよかったです。
ハワイのビーチに飽きた人には
是非おすすめのツアーです。
特に、子連れにはいいかもしれませんね。
お子様の英語の教育にもいいですし。

We built in a layover on Oahu on our way from Lihue to Hilo, reserving a car and driver to get a quick overview of the major highlights in and around Honolulu. Your driver, Keith, was amazing. Within a few minutes of meeting us at the airport, he had designed an extensive tour around Diamond Head, along the coast, a fantastic poke lunch, a trip through the mountains back into Honolulu, the Punchbowl, and back to the airport in time for our flight to Hilo. He was conversational and informative; someone with whom it was a real joy to spend the afternoon. Thank you for providing us with a fantastic day, and thanks to Keith for hitting it out of the park. An absolute home run!

the driver showed up on time took us to pearl harbor & directed us to the sights after touring the Arizona & the museum we were a group of 13 some wanted to go to the battle ship & the submarine & some wanted to tour the city. the driver was very accommodating helpful & very helpful he made the day for us

Very personable and funny too. Hike was great, a few challenges but overall pretty easy.. We did not use boots and came back a bit muddy. But we are used to that back in PA. Highly recommend these fellas... Small group and shows with their personal touches!! Two thumbs up & mahalo for a great hike!!!

１０月２日参加。LOSTファンは必見。あの竹林が堪能できます。竹やぶの中を歩いて行くのが面白くてヤミツキになりそう。ツアーは至れり尽くせり。必要な装備に水、おやつ等ばっちり。（このドライフルーツとナッツが美味しい。運動中に食べると甘くて塩からいので超〜〜美味しい。）迎えも時間前に来てくれました。ガイドは親切で陽気で説明も良く、大変真面目な方で最高でした。熱帯雨林の美しさに圧倒されました。マノアの住宅地から観る山並みも素敵です。難易度は参加者の体力に合わせてくれるので、心配無いと思います。

おばちゃんはオージーよりも足が達者でした

海外では後になって森の印象が残るので、ハワイでも行ってみたくて一人参加しました。ほかの日本語版ツアーは時間が合わず、英語版のこちらに一人参加になりました。長靴を全員に貸してくれました。何インチといわれ8と答えジャスト（私は24cm）すこし大きめでいいみたい。交換もききました。ぬかるみもあったけど、火山の硬い岩のうえの渓流なので、歩くのは簡単でした。数回小川をまたいだけど、こどものころを思い出し水の中に足を突っ込んでちゃぷちゃぷと。長靴なので平気。最後にマノウの滝で記念撮影でした。英語だけどガイドさんが日本語もじょうずでした。いっしょのオージーのグループはぬかるみでおしりがどろだらけでした。なんでかなあ？たぶん、みんな普通はだいじょうぶ。楽しかったですよ。コーヒーの森のかおりも経験できました。

We had one entire day in Honolulu and wanted to see as much as we could so decided to take the private limo tour of the island. Mark was our driver and did an excellent job. He went to get us tickets for Pearl Harbor ahead of time so we did not have to wait. He customized the tour to our wishes and took us to places that avoided a lot of the tourists. This tour was much more enjoyable than any bus tour we have taken before.

オハナ熱帯雨林ハイキング

当日は大体15人ぐらいのグループで、日本人は私たちだけでした。
場所は通常マノアフォールハイキングに行く入口よりかなり手前からマノアに入ります。ツアーの体験談に軍隊の訓練のように黙々と歩くと書いてあったので、少し心配でしたが、実際はツアーの参加者のペースに合わせて無理なく進み、所々でガイドさんがとても丁寧にハワイの自然や動物について説明してくれて本当に楽しかったです☆☆
また、小川の近くを歩いて滝まで行くので、水の音が心地よく、鳥や風の音にも癒されました。
マノアフォールハイキングとは違うコースで、ゴールの滝も違いますし、帰り道は竹林を戻りました。ぬかるんでいる所や、川を渡ったりするので、始めに長靴を借りる事をオススメします。少し冒険みたいな感じですごく楽しかったです！長靴だと水や泥も気にせずどんどん進めます。
ツアーは日本人向けではなく、ガイドさんも日本語は話せないので、ある程度英語が出来たほうが楽しめるとは思いますが、私有地を行くハイキングで、マノアの通常のコースとは違い自分では行けないコースなので、ハワイの自然が大好きという方には是非オススメしたいです。本当に癒されます、そしてすごく楽しい！
ツアーの参加者と協力しながら登ると思うので、いろんな方とコミュニケーションが出来て楽しいですよ！
次回もまた是非参加したいです♪

Wow, a great tour! Our driver Mark, was terrific. Very entertaining, and showed us great sites, movie locations, celebrity hones, and Hawaiian heritage sites. He knows a lot about Hawaiian and Tahitian culture. He took us to a little shop with great coffee and souvenirs. Lunch stop was at a shrimp stand with wonderful food.

Great way to see Oahu!

We stopped on Oahu on our way home from a week in Maui. It was my husband, stepdaughter, three sons, and my parents - so 8 of us that took a limo around the island. We had Frank as our driver, he was wonderful! We had plenty of time to see the North Shore and Pearl Harbor. We were picked up and dropped off at the airport, very smooth deal!
