Vacationing with a 12 year old and keeping him entertained was not easy, but this trip was PERFECT. He really enjoyed the activities and the guides were thoughtful, creating a safe environment for him. I personally enjoyed seeing the honu! Hopefully, we can do it again with the entire family next year. Thank you again!

Lovely Day Hiking

But you get to learn about the land and why we are seeing so many different plants that really shouldnt be here. Wonderful Day
Reviewed by: Grandpa & Grandma, 2016/09/25Our Transportation to Diamond Head was waiting for us as we exited the hotel about 5 minutes early. He was very nice and professional. He gave us good information about Diamond Head's history and the hiking trail. He returned, as promised, to pick us up and take us to Manoa Falls. Again he was very interesting and gave us info about the rain forest and the hike. Providing water and a hiking pole was very appreciated, and helpful. The company was very reliable, friendly and informative. We are in our 60's and were able to do both hikes in the same day.

Great Experience
Reviewed by: Aaron, 2016/09/20We all had a wonderful time and learned a lot about the island, plants and the culture of Oahu with Terry. We highly recommend the trip. It is a rustic hike to the beautiful waterfall, but very worth the hike, even in the rain and mud And our bike ride down the mountain had gorgeous scenery and was wind through your hair fun. We saw several sea turtles and different varieties of fish on the sail and snorkel on Captain Krash's catamaran. He was fun to sail with and Rudolph was very knowledgeable about the snorkeling as well as giving helpful knowledge about the island and city.
Good times! Glad you all enjoyed your trip with us.. Come back again soon and try another one of many experiences with special access to privately owned land.

Unique, and yes we swam w/ Turtles!
Reviewed by: MichAle, 2016/09/10We loved the downhill biking! It went by really quick, but we did enjoyed it. Wouldn't recommend it on its own, since it went by so quick. But in combination with the snorkelling was fantastic! Guides are very knowledgeable and respectful of the area. Swimming with turtles was a unique experience!

野生のマダラヤドクガエルを観察出来ました！
Reviewed by: かけさん, 2016/08/04 2年前に「マノア滝ハイキングツアー」に参加してなかなか良かったので、今回は違うツアーに…と思ってこのツアーを選びました。
熱帯雨林の自然を満喫したいというのに加えて、出来たらハワイに移入されて野生化しているマダラヤドクガエルとジャクソンカメレオンの姿を見てみたい希望もあったのです。
日本語ガイドでないというので一抹の不安はありましたが、まあ何とかなるだろうと思って参加しました。
僕の他にはカリフォルニアから来た母子３人組。ガイドはテリーさんと言うハワイ生まれの方でした。
現地に着いて「マダラヤドクガエルとジャクソンカメレオンが見たい。」と言うと流石にちょっと驚いた風情でしたが、「マダラヤドクガエルは多分いると思うよ。カメレオンはいるにはいるが、動きがゆっくりしていて見つけづらいんだ。」と言ってくれました。
目的地は実はマノア渓谷の近くで、マノア滝トレッキングとはルートも目的の滝も違うものの、よく似たコースです。今回のコースの方がちょっと狭くて勾配も強く、難易度が高いかなと思いますが、決して厳しいコースではありません。
テリーさんは、植物の名前だけでなく、由来、更にはハワイの植生の歴史まで丁寧に説明してくれました。ただ、完全にネイティブ・イングリッシュなので、聴き取って理解するのはちょっと大変かもしれません(^_^;)
そして、嬉しい事にマダラヤドクガエルを同行者の男の子が見つけてくれ、写真に収める事が出来たのです！
冒頭にマニアックな発言をしたものだから、ガイドさんだけでなく、同行者も一緒になって探してくれたおかげです。
滝に辿り着いた時の達成感もありましたし、何と言っても念願のヤドクガエルを見られたのだから、大満足です。残念ながらジャクソンカメレオンは見つけられませんでしたが、参加してよかったと思っています。

Lazy fun
Reviewed by: The Moops, 2016/07/30Beautiful and interesting hike through the lush rainforest but not at all physically challenging. Really enjoyed the hike but the downhill bike part was so boring! The guides pretty much wrapped us in cotton wool, they wouldn't let us go any faster than 5 miles (and it was purely downhill road, no cycling required!), and they kept stopping us for one reason or another. I'd recommend the tour though, the scenery was great and the guides knowledgeable and nice.
Aloha and mahalo for your comments. We find it fascinating how some guests find our waterfall hike difficult and others see it as a walk in the park. Either way, thank you for spending some of your Hawaiian vacation with us.

Great way to see Ohau
Reviewed by: Bob R. , 2016/07/11This was a great adventure. Plan for the better part of the day. The hike seems odd at first because you start in a neighborhood. But once you are on the path it is a beautiful journey. It was a it rushed which was disappointing as it was hard to enjoy the surroundings and go fast. The bike ride was a lot of fun with awesome views of Diamond Head and Waikiki. The last part,snorkeling with Sea Turtles, was the absolute best. They are amazing creatures and would surface right next to us. When scheduling, ask for Elon. He did a great job for our group. Also, Terrii was an excellent tour guide when he joined us.

Nice Trek to an Awesome Waterfall

There were many sites to see along the way, both out and back, and the guides were extremely informative and knowledgeable about the area and the island. My only suggestion would be to pack your own light-weight rain poncho (this is the rainier part of the island) just in case. We did and only needed them for about the first 10 minutes. Aside from that, everything else that was listed in the description was provided.

Fun day
Reviewed by: Bob R. , 2016/07/01This was a lot fun and a good way to see different part of Ohau quickly. The hike through the rain forest to the waterfall was interesting. There were things you don't see in other parts of the world. It is not an easy hike. Be prepared for strenuous activity. The bike ride makes up for it. It is all down hill, beautiful views and a wonderful spot to stop, eat and take in the view. The Bike Hawaii staff are outstanding. They quickly become friends and are genuinely focused on your enjoyment and safety. The last experience, swimming with sea turtles was just the best. The turtles are not afraid of humans and will surface next to you. You can't touch them but one came so close it almost touched me. We stayed out there a long time and really got to enjoy them. This was a great day and lot of fun. It is an all day experience so plan for it.

Reviewed by: jandg, 2016/06/04We did the Diamond Head and Manoa Falls hikes. Both were very different and beautiful in their own ways. We are glad we did the Diamond Head hike in the early hours and were able to do the Mania Falls hike during the heat of the day since it was a cooler hike. Advice: take plenty of bug spray for the Manoa Falls hike! And as a side note, Romero our tour driver was fantastic! He told us some local history and gave us advice on places to go and eat.

でも安全に行き帰りすることができました
途中、たびたびガイドさんが植物や動物について説明してくれて、興味深かったです。
英語での説明で、参加者もほとんど日本人はいませんが、英語の勉強にもなるし、英語でのコミュニケーションも良い経験になりました。
お迎えは予定より20分遅れくらいでちょっとハラハラしましたが、
のんびり待ってたらちゃんと来て探してくれました。
帰りも親切に送ってくれて良かったです！

Nae-Nae the Dinosaur and the group!

Our group and others were posing with the prop as it fits well with the background. The guide was very informative and awesome. The hike is moderate so the walking sticks the tour provides helps tremendously. As you arrive you hear many birds and can see them in the trees.

Well Worth It
Reviewed by: proudworld, 2016/01/25Helpful driver(young man but forgot name..sorry). Mosquito repellent and walking stick. Thought about taking bus, but the last stop is a bit of a distance from trailhead. This shuttle expedites the process. Picked up and dropped off at Waikiki hotel. If you have limited time on the island I would definitely recommend this tour. The hike itself is not overly demanding in dry conditions. Wife and I are in 50's and in so-so condition. I thought this was easier than Diamond Head hike, which wasn't difficult either. Probably an entirely different story if wet and rainy. Get off the beach and experience another aspect of the island. Enjoyed it.
