I had been looking forward to this place for a long time. It was sunny, but as soon as we got on the boat, it started to rain... Fortunately, it stopped quickly. What impressed me the most was the service. The staff promptly wiped down the benches that had gotten wet from the rain. I didn't expect that at all since I was in my swimsuit and it was overseas, so I was really happy about it. Also, surprisingly, the boat's restroom was clean!

In addition to seeing sea turtles, we also spotted manta rays (which are said to be rare), and I was very satisfied with the snorkeling experience. The staff were all kind and entertaining. The lunch was delicious too; the captain grilled hamburgers on the boat, which made for great burgers.

The only downside was that the sandbar was a bit deep. But that can change from day to day, so I just had bad luck... I'm thinking about trying again next year. I would like to go with the same tour company as this time.

今回残念だったのは少しサンドバーが深かった事。でもこれは日によって変わるし運が悪かった…
また来年チャレンジしよっかな。
今回と同じツアー会社さんで行きたいです。

The sandbars you see on TV only appear when you calculate the tides. If you happen to experience a water depth of around your ankles, I think you’re quite lucky. The world you see on TV might be a bit difficult to experience on a tour, unless you rent a private boat and plan the date and time accordingly. When I went, it was from mid to late September, and the shallowest part was about halfway up my thighs.

Indeed, the water near the sandbar was clear and beautiful. However, it rained, and the overall experience was somewhat lacking.

The hamburgers made on the boat were delicious. The patties were frozen, but they grilled them on a BBQ, so they tasted great.

The issue came after lunch. We moved from the sandbar to an area with lots of coral for snorkeling. They took us to a place where you could say the coral spread over a large area. We were warned not to touch the coral, but depending on the tides, in shallow areas, the coral was about 30 cm below the surface. Can you swim in such places? The coral wasn’t particularly beautiful, and there weren’t many fish, so I didn’t feel the joy of snorkeling at all. Additionally, I was the only one who got stung by jellyfish multiple times on both shoulders and hands, having to endure pain and itching. You could say I was unlucky, but for this kind of experience, it felt overpriced.

問題はランチを食べた後。
サンドバーから、珊瑚がたくさんあるところへ移動して、シュノーケリングをします。確かに珊瑚のの岩と言ってもいいぐらい大きい範囲にわたって珊瑚がある場所に連れて行ってくれます。
珊瑚には触らないようにと注意を受けましたが、潮の具合なのか浅いところだと水面から30cmぐらいの所に珊瑚があります。こんな所で泳げますか？？
特にキレイ珊瑚でもないし、魚がたくさんいるわけでもなく、シュノーケリングの楽しさが全く感じられませんでした。
そして私だけクラゲにたくさん刺されて両肩、両手と痛みと痒みに耐えなければなりませんでした。
運がなかったと言えばそれまでですが、こんな内容に対しては高いという感じです。

I was expecting a beach that looked like the one in the photos, but after a one-hour bus ride (and a late pickup) and a 20-minute boat ride, I arrived at just a beautiful sea. The water was only waist-deep, so it felt like I paid a lot of money just to soak in a nice sea. The guide was friendly and had a great attitude, so I gave it two stars, but it was still very disappointing.

I've always wanted to visit Sandbar♡ I went there on my honeymoon. At the start of the tour, it was rainy and cloudy... just when I was feeling anxious, the sky cleared up!!!! I couldn't contain my excitement at the breathtaking scenery that exceeded my expectations☆彡 For those who will be participating, I highly recommend taking the smaller boat♡ You might get splashed by the waves, but you can enjoy lunch without waiting, and you get to see sea turtles and mantas up close!! The mantas were swimming in a circle, feeding on plankton, which is said to be a rare sight. The turtles even came to greet us while we were scuba diving, and I was so happy to swim with them♡ I also learned that it was a filming location for Jurassic Park and Pirates, which added to the excitement♡ If you visit Hawaii, you definitely should check it out♡

I checked the tide levels when I signed up, so I knew that the sandbar would have water at least up to my knees on certain days, but the snorkeling experience was terrible.

We departed with over 60 people on a large bus, and the number increased even more at the location. With that many people, we were just taken in a line around a designated course and that was it. The snorkeling time was about 5 minutes? It felt more like a swimming lesson for kids. It would have been better not to do it at all.

The guide and crew had a good vibe and took photos and provided services, but the tour program itself was just too awful. I do not recommend it.

This was my first time in Hawaii, and I signed up for a tour because I wanted to do stand-up paddleboarding (SUP) in the beautiful ocean. It took about an hour by bus from Waikiki to get there. The beach was less than a five-minute walk from the meeting point, so we played at the beach in the morning, had pizza for lunch before the meeting time, and then finally got to do SUP in the afternoon. The waves were strong, so we practiced in a nearby river first before moving to the ocean for SUP. On days with smaller waves, they say you can paddle to a nearby island and take a 30-minute walk on the uninhabited island before returning. It was a bit disappointing that we couldn't reach the uninhabited island due to the waves, but I was really satisfied to do SUP in such a beautiful ocean! SUP was also a lot of fun! I definitely recommend it for anyone trying SUP for the first time. After the tour, I wanted to explore Kailua town, but the return bus was scheduled for 2:30 PM, so I couldn't. It seems there are buses that leave around 5 PM depending on availability, so if that's the case, you could visit Kailua town as well. However, I won't know if I can change the bus time until I go on the day. But the beach is so beautiful that you'll want to stay there all day. I thought if you split your schedule between a day at the beach and a day exploring the town, you would have a great time.

We are a couple in our 50s, participating with our 4th-year university daughter. We were unsure about the morning program, but this plan turned out to be the right choice. The sandbar was beautiful, but there weren't many fish while snorkeling, so it felt a bit lacking. However, the snorkeling after moving to the coral reef was absolutely satisfying. We had a great time and it's definitely worthwhile to check out the Sandbar. The water is just beautiful and great snorkelling too. Lunch was also very decent. We had hamburger and pineapples and tortilla chips on the side. The only thing that bothered us was that the Captain kept on assuming we are Japanese and that we don't speak English (given that there are a lot of Japanese tourists on the boat). He repeatedly tried to communicate with us in very broken Japanese. We look Asian, but we are Canadian and we don't understand Japanese. I always reply him in English but he keeps forgetting that we speak English. Maybe he thinks we all look the same. He loved making conversations in English with Caucasian guests, called out the non-Asian names on his list of guests, and ask them where they were from, whether they were celebrating an occasion, but made no effort to talk to us the same way. The translator, think his name was Freddie, initially assumed we were Japanese too but caught on right away that we are English speakers which was great. Other staff were very nice and helpful. Overall we did have a great time and I would recommend this, only the Captain frustrated us a little.

The sandbar was deeper than I expected, which surprised me! I've heard that the beach appears only during certain times. Snorkeling was so much fun! There wasn't much explanation on how to use the snorkeling gear, so I almost felt like I was going to drown until I got the hang of it (laughs). We saw beautiful corals, fish, and sea turtles. I went with my family and husband, and we all had a great time!

The sandbar was submerged in seawater up to my waist, but it was a beautiful place with very clear water. I went snorkeling, but there weren't any fish at all. Since there were no hiding spots, there were no fish.
Next, we headed for sea turtle watching, and I was able to see several sea turtles. It was really great.
Then, we went to the coral reef and enjoyed snorkeling in a place where I couldn't touch the bottom. Many fish welcomed us, and it was fun.

I think this is a tour that can be participated in with peace of mind, even with young children in elementary school.

Renting a car seemed tiring due to the hassle of finding parking and driving on unfamiliar roads, so it was great for us to be driven to a beautiful, less crowded beach. The kids were very happy.

We were able to play at the beach for about two hours, which felt just right, but I thought that two hours wouldn't be enough for lunch and shopping during the Kailua sightseeing.

That's why I gave it a ★4 rating.
