The Cheifs luau was great! He's hilarious and his dancers were amazing to watch. The food was excellent and this is some thing we would do again and recommend to others!!
The sandbar itself was wonderful, but unfortunately, the weather was drizzly... There's nothing we can do about that. The guide was Japanese, so I felt comfortable participating. Even my wife, who usually gets motion sickness, didn't feel sick, so I think that's reassuring as well.

I had an amazing day that exceeded my expectations! First of all, our guide, Julie, was truly wonderful and great at getting everyone excited, which raised our spirits even before we saw the dolphins! Unfortunately, there was a boat from a dolphin protection organization that day, so we couldn't swim with the dolphins, but we were still able to see many wild dolphins up close, which was very moving. As a U.S. Navy Vet I was already beyond excited to go visit the iconic ship, but what was even cooler was being able to have access to so much of ship. However, the best part was being able to stand where the unconditional surrendering of the Japanese took place. Really neat! Only tip I can give is to take the early tours to have more time in each compartment, we took the 9am tour and our group was only 6 people (compared to the 15+ in the group after).
The price was somewhat high, so I hesitated a bit when making the reservation, but after participating in the program, I was really glad I booked it and was very satisfied. Since it's an experience that's hard to come by, I think it was a good decision to go for it.

A large bus came to pick us up at the designated spot at the hotel just after 9 AM, and it seemed that our hotel was the first stop. The dinner was amazing, the filet was cooked perfectly and the crab legs kept on coming. We got a complimentary mai tai that was actually a very good drink (not that pre-mixed yucky stuff) and also ordered the $40 bottle of champagne. When dinner was finished, they put on a Polynesian show within the cabin that was loads of fun. Unfortunately the sunset was blocked by cloud cover but the show made up for it. The waitress was fantastic and the room supervisor was very attentive. Would definitely do this again! An additional note: they took the usual souvenir photo and charged $27 which we thought was way over the top...but it was framed beautifully (book-bound style) and ended up being the best photo of our entire honeymoon!! Worth every penny!
This was our first luau experience and it was fantastic. Transportation was included, the bus was on time and comfortable. When we arrived, they took a photo that had a beautiful back drop (amazing scenery with the mountain and the ocean), photo was $10 and quite decent quality. There were fun pre-show activities and drinks available. The buffet was good, we paid for the middle of the road package which was worth it. The emcee was funny and personable and the show was very entertaining, the woman sitting next to us said that they had been to several luaus and this was by far the best fire show they'd seen. We were called onto stage because it was our honeymoon and they gave me a nice flower bouquet. Overall it was really a great experience! The whole staff worked hard to make the night a good one. Worth every penny!
We went to Sandbar for our honeymoon trip. It was truly beautiful, far beyond comparison to Waikiki Beach! The staff who guided us at Sandbar were all cheerful, and my shy husband seemed to have a great time. We were able to do a lot of turtle watching, and later we even swam with the turtles while snorkeling. I'm not a strong swimmer, but with the life jacket, fins, and snorkel provided, it's no problem for beginners.
If we have the chance to go to Hawaii again, I would definitely like to participate!

We agree with you that the tour is beautiful and awesome. Plus, we fully delivered what we promised and if you add up all these extra expenses and inconvenience you would have had to encounter had you chosen to drive yourself, you would have lost money and comfort instead of gaining. Unfortunately, the sandbar was not completely out of the water, and at the shallowest point, the water reached my knees, but the floating island in the middle of the deep sea was fantastic and beautiful. バンズにチーズとハンバーグが乗った状態で配られ、自分で好きな具を挟んで食べるスタイル。好き嫌いの多い私にとってはとてもありがたかったです。その他にパイナップルとナチョスがありました。

その後、ウミガメがいるスポットに向かいました。ピョコっと顔を出すウミガメが度々発見出来ました。マンタがいたと声は聞こえましたが、自分とは反対側だった様で見る事が出来ず残念でした。
次は大きな珊瑚礁の付近でシュノーケル！
ここには魚も沢山いました。ただ、ここでも海は思っていたより濁っていて、沖縄の方がキレイだったかも…少し残念でした。
先に入った15人ぐらいはウミガメと泳げる可能性が高いと説明があり。
最後の方に入った為諦めていましたが、ウミガメが！！一緒に泳ぐ事ができ、感動！
貴重な体験となりました！！
他の方も書いている様に、バスの中と、海から上がった時はとても寒かったので上着は必要です！！また日焼け止めも必須です！
