My "good" vs "outstanding" rating is 100% dependent on the time of the year. So I had actually done this trip before but in July which I loved. I ended up spending my bday alone during the day so decided I wanted to come back out to the sandbar. Well nothing had changed from the last time, same good food, same great crew, great snorkeling. Not sure if it matters but when I went in July the water was knee deep, when I went in October it was up to my chest. Now I'm only 5ft tall so wasn't gonna drown but it was just different. It was also a little more windy so I'm just gonna chalk it up to a new "season". Still had a great experience but I will more than likely make my sandbar trips in the summer vs the "fall". Still a great friendly crew so don't forget to bring cash to tip them at the end!

I booked this cruise for myself and my family. My son was 11 at the time and about 4 feet tall. I only say this so it makes sense. Well we got there later than we wanted to (we live on island and drove ourselves). Couldn't find parking and the crew let us know where we could park because the little store next to the boats is actually closed for good so that worked out! So yes if you are driving yourself get there early so you aren't freaking out too lol. We got on and they took us to the sandbar where they set up a volleyball net for us and we all got off where the water was down to our knees. So my child wasn't in any danger of drowning. The meal was the most basic hamburger bbq thing you can probably imagine so don't think you are getting some 5 course meal. It def hit the spot and I did not mind it at all. They offered some beer choices and wine as well as non-alcoholic drinks. The alcohol was not free. Not a big deal at all and didn't expect it to be. They took card and cash :) After a little bit of being out there we went out to a reef and were given gear to go snorkeling. It was beautiful. We were also pointed out things such as Gilligan's island at some point. Lastly we saw turtles and the crew had music playing through the trip. They were very nice. Don't bring too much stuff with you tho because when it was at 100% capacity you had to really squish. Towel, water, sunscreen and your own alcohol is what you should probably bring lol. Overall great July experience, great crew and perfect for taking your visiting family and friends from the mainland. Don't forger to bring cash to leave tips at the end of the trip!

Beautiful hike to a Waimea Falls. The botanical gardens were beautiful and.full of history too. Easy hike for my kids Got to swim in the lagoon under the falls at the top. I love that they provided life jackets. Once we came down and changed it was off to the luau. We had a great time participating in some of the cultural activities and learning the Polynesian history and culture. Dancing was amazing and food phenomenal. My family really enjoyed it -especially my 11 year old and 15 year old. Highly recommend!!

fun interactive luau experience. cousin Billy was the funniest ever, we enjoyed our first luau with very friendly staff and night full of culture experiences.

A must do!!! The crew was awesome! We did not expect the snorkelling was gonna be that awesome. Got to see some sea turtles too.

I would recommend this as a MUST DO!! Yes you will be nervous but, once you get on the boat your captains will make you feel so comfortable! They both have great humor that helps to calm your nerves. What you will experience while your in the cage is amazing! You get to see it all up close! I would recommend anyone to do this. For tourists plan transportation both ways prior to your tour. Its hard to get a uber in that area.

I had a nice time, but I did not see a lot of turtles or beautiful fish , just 2 turtles.. The water was nice.

My boyfriend and I went on this catamaran and it turned out to be the absolute best part of our trip!!! Everything from the crew, the service, the captain, the food and drinks to the ride was absolutely amazing! The crew was so attentive and fun, it made the boat ride so much more fun! 100% recommend this catamaran ride and crew to anyone visiting Oahu!!!

This was amazing amazing experience! The folks running the boat were informational and extremely friendly. There were only 4 people upon the boat and we were all able to get in the cage together comfortably. For the amount we paid we had a generous amount of time in the cage to view the shark in there natural habitat. They were very curious and we got some beautiful pictures. When I had an issue with the snorkel the team provided several others for me to try. The water was high 70’s and we took the early morning venture where the water was fairly still and the island was quiet. I would absolutely recommend this affordable once in a life time experience!

The crew was fun and easy going. One of the crew men urged us to do the snorkeling and it was one of the best decisions we made. While on the sand bar 3' of water) we saw a small fish that hung around our family the entire time. It was the coolest thing to experience. Then my 7 year old and I went to the reef to snorkel and saw several large sea turtle just a few feet away. It was awesome.

The snorkeling place is good! So many fishes! Turtle view is fine as we are a bit far from those turtles and we can only see their head for a second when they come out of water for air. The sandbar itself is good too, but not sure what to do with it except playing volleyball.

Crew was friendly, drinks were delicious, the sunset was beautiful, great pricing. Overall a great experience. Second time on this ship. Take all my visitors here. Everyone always has an amazing time.

I just loved it; beautiful evening, great staff, great music, good vibe from the other guests...I have already booked another cruise for this Summer.

What an amazing experience! You will not regret taking this excursion. People are beyond friendly and helpful and they really make it a pleasant experience. Sandbar was beautiful and snorkeling was really fun. Would do again for sure!

Sunset Cruise on the Moana Catamaran was great. Do the sail without the food though, no time to eat it before you take off. Captain Johnny and his crew were great. Love the music and the view of Diamond Head, Waikiki and Honolulu was breathtaking. I highly recommend this Sunset Cruise!

My husband and I booked this cruise for my birthday and we were not disappointed. The crew was amazing and the captain even kept us out for additional time so ensure that we saw the sunset. The crew was fun and always kept everyone laughing and dancing. If you’re in the Waikiki area this cruise is a must and will not disappoint.

overall great crew and experience, stayed out 30 min longer to see a beautiful sunset. felt safe with our captain and how he handled the boat!

Good experience. We need more time in Pearl habour. 2.5hrs isn’t enough. Too much to unpack there

We saw more than we bargained. Dolphins and turtles

Had a great time! Played volleyball on the sandbar for about an hour while the water was about 2.5 feet deep. Had a good hearty lunch with hamburgers, baked beans, pineapple, and a bag of chips. Boat then toured us over an area where sea turtles usually are. We saw well over 2 dozen, some were on the small side and some were massive in size. Boat moved over to the moon shaped reef where we snorkled for about an hour. Saw many tropical fish.
.Wear lots of sunblock and reapply.
Ample parking and easy to find.

I would have given Chief’s Luau a Great, because the entertainment was the best. Thee food ok. How ever I took our two boys 15 and 16. Paid adult prices. Was told by Veltra, that they could have a virgin Mai tai or coke, sprite, etc.. however they would not give the guys drinks unless I paid extra for them.

Tour moves pretty fast and you're on this school bus. (Hope you're on the right side otherwise you won't get a good view of half of the things)

First, the crew was amazing! They were so helpful and made sure we were well equipped to enjoy every minute we were on this adventure. I was so excited to see the dolphins- I started hyperventilating a little as I was swimming toward the cree member that was finding the dolphin pods for our group. I didn’t want to cause a fuss or embarrass myself - so I just tried to calm myself and was promptly helped by another crew member who saw me and helped me to relax and calm my breathing so I could continue swimming. After watching the dolphins for several minutes under the water- they started showing off for us and jumping out of the water. It was thrilling. We stayed in the water for 20-30 min it seemed and I was amazed by the beauty of it all. Then we all returned to the boat - and we’re offered snacks and water and we traveled to a reef where we got back into the water and saw many fish and a sea turtle and snorkeled around looking at all the sea life as the captain anchored the boat and crew members inflated a large slide on the boat. The photographers were very attentive- and if you paid for a photo package- they made sure they took every picture possible of you. I’m 51 and I had a blast on the slide along with my daughter who is 19. Finally, when it was time to go- we were offered food again as the crew entertained us with dancing and music all the way back to shore. We returned to our hotel by 1pm (6 hours after the start) WORTH EVERY PENNY!! We crashed the rest of the day having had so much fun! THANK YOU TO YOU ALL!!

Perfect way to relax inn Hawaii! Staff and captain very helpful and friendly. Would recommend and do this again!

We saw plenty of sea turtles along the reef. The water was a bit cold, especially with the wind, but overall would recommend it. They provide small snacks and drinks. Also provide snorkel gear and two SUP boards.

We couldn’t” be happier with the whole adventure. Relaxing, exciting, entertaining, and educational all in one trip. We were fortunate to have everything we expected. We learned to snorkel. We saw many beautiful fish while in the water, attracting many by using the fish food we bought and scattering it around. While on board we learned a bit about the Catamaran we were on and how it was sailed. The sights were identified and all our questions were answered by the knowledgeable seaman. They offered many fun facts as well along the way. They were alway alert to our needs, assuring that we had fun and stayed safe. When the dolphins appeared, the nature and habits of the creatures were discussed, The differences between the type of dolphin following the boat and other dolphins was made. We were fortunate enough to have a sea turtle come and check us out as well. The people we had on board with us were friendly and polite and enjoyed the trip as well. I heard no complaints from anyone. I would recommend this company for this adventure to anyone who wants to have a fun snorkeling trip with a great crew, and an adventure that is safe and informative.
