This was my second visit to Gunstock Ranch. This time, I mistakenly entered "Kahuku" instead of "Lai'e" into the rental car's navigation system, so I got quite lost before arriving... Upon arrival, I signed the liability waiver, had my luggage stored, and borrowed a helmet before heading out for horseback riding! The course was supposed to be one hour, but I think we ended up riding for over an hour. Last time, we had photos taken at the photo points, but this time, since the Travel Maker's donkey was with us (laughs), the staff member seemed to forget about taking pictures, so we didn't get any... However, the horses were all smart and gentle, making for a very pleasant riding experience. I would love to experience horseback riding here again on my next trip to Hawaii.

２度目のガンストック牧場。
今回はレンタカーのカーナビ入力で「ライエ」ではなく間違って「カフク」にしてしまったのでだいぶ迷いながら到着しました・・・
到着すると免責書類にサインをし、荷物を預かってもらい、ヘルメットを貸してもらいいざ乗馬！！
１時間コースでしたが１時間以上乗馬をしていたかと思います。
前回は写真ポイントで写真を撮って頂いたのですが、今回はトラベルメーカーのロバちゃん（笑）もついてきていたので、スタッフのお姉さんも写真のことを忘れていたのか、写真は撮って頂けませんでした・・・
しかし馬たちもかしこく大人しい馬ばかりでとても気持ちが良い乗馬体験が出来ました。
次回もハワイへ行った際はここで乗馬を体験したいです。

We enjoyed the cruise. The staff was very attentive to us. Dinner was first. Unfortunately the dinner lasted through the sunset and we were seated on the opposite side of the boat. So didn't really see the sunset. We did the crab legs dinner. It was nice. Make sure you get seconds when they offer. They come around a 1 time. The entertainment was fun. The dancers performed in the middle of the deck. That is why dinner is quick. The Honolulu lights at night are a pretty sight. The night was breezy so bring a sweater to through on in case.

I chose Gunstock Ranch from the many horseback riding plans available. Since I don't know about other horseback riding experiences, I can't compare, but I truly recommend Gunstock Ranch. First of all, the horses are calm and easy to ride. I had no anxiety at all. I didn't understand the English explanations very well, but it's reassuring even for first-timers. And above all, the course is fantastic. There are mountains and the sea, so I wasn't bored from start to finish. This time, I took the one-hour course, and I think it's just the right amount of time. If it were any longer, my legs might get tired...

たくさんある乗馬プランの中から、このガンストック牧場を選びました。他の乗馬を知らないので、比べられませんが、ガンストック牧場は本当にお勧めです。まずは馬がおとなしくて乗りやすいです。全く不安がありませんでした。英語の説明はよくわかりませんでしたが、初めての方でも安心です。そして何よりもコースが最高です。山あり海ありで、最初から最後まで退屈しませんでした。今回は1時間コースでしたが、調度良い時間だと思います。それ以上長いと足が疲れてしまうかも・・・。

We formed groups of four and enjoyed a leisurely horseback ride while taking in the seaside views. The horses were well-trained and intelligent.

4人づつパーティーになって、海辺の景色を見ながらののんびりとした乗馬でした。きちんと調教された賢い馬たちでした。

We did the campfire dinner ride. They keep it to 2 to 6 people. We were the only 2 on the ride that night so it was a wonderful private ride too. It was very pleasant not being in a line of 20 horses like other places we rode. The ride is very enjoyable. Beautiful scenery. Relaxing ride. Clean pathway. Fresh air. The campfire is at the top of a hill so it was a little breezy. We went in December so it was a little cool. Dinner was nice. Good size steak and shrimp, macaroni salad, rice, fresh fruits, smores. More than we could eat. The guide was pleasant and helped my wife the couple times her horse wanted to go another direction. She let me lead a few times while she helped my wife. We will definitely do this ride when we make it back to Oahu.

While waiting, you can watch the other horses and the staff practicing on the premises, so you won't get bored. Once you choose your horse and learn some basic reins handling, you start. There are always multiple guides with you, so if you encounter any issues along the way, they will help you out. If you get paired with a horse that likes to graze, you'll have to put in some effort, but thanks to the generally well-trained horses, we had a lot of fun navigating the ups and downs of the trail.

待っている間は敷地内で他の馬たちや従業員の練習の様子なんかを見ていられるので飽きません。馬が決まって、簡単な手綱の扱い方を聞いてスタート。常に複数のガイドが一緒なので、途中で困っても対処してくれます。道草を食う相棒に当たると頑張らないとなりませんが、基本的によく訓練された馬たちのおかげで、道のアップダウンもそこそこあってワーワーキャーキャー楽しめました。

What is awesome about Gunstock Ranch is that it is in a very secluded area. The trail is very peaceful and we rode through grassy clearings and lots of cattle. It was a very small and intimate group (myself, my friend and the instructor), which I really liked because on other trails I've been on it involved following a long trail of people on their horses. This time I felt more in control of my horse. The horses are very well trained and know how to follow each other. I've tried to get mine to trot, but since I was on a beginner's trail it wouldn't allow me to do it. Also, the instructor, Garrett (hopefully I spelled his name correctly), was very pleasant and helpful throughout the entire trail.

I am a 45-year-old man. Two years ago, I participated in a 90-minute scenic course here, but this time I brought my 1st-grade daughter and 5th-grade son, and we participated in a 60-minute scenic course as a family of four. We rented a car early in the morning and it took about an hour from our hotel in Waikiki. We encountered rain in December, but by the time we arrived at the ranch, the weather cleared beautifully.

A young woman at the reception became our contact person. Almost everything except for the contract was in English, but I think it’s manageable even if you don’t understand everything. A year ago, when my child rode a small horse in Cairns, a Japanese person on a working holiday helped pull the reins, but at Gunstock, even my 1st grader rode a proper horse by themselves. The guide led the way, followed by the two children and then the couple. The kids were quite nervous at first, but after about 15 minutes, they learned to kick the horse's belly, which made the horse move, and they looked happy.

The distance differs between the 90-minute and 60-minute rides, but I think the height of the hills we climbed was quite different. Since we had elementary school children with us, the 60 minutes was sufficient, and we could see the beautiful North Shore sea. Along the way, we saw horses and cows grazing. Walking with the horses was pleasant, and the scenery was lovely, creating a wonderful feeling. While riding, the guide shared various information about the ranch, but with my language skills, I only understood about half of it. Still, it was a good experience for our family. The guide was kind and accommodating to us. (By the way, this was my second time, and the staff were all young both times.)

If we can go again, I would like to do the 90-minute ride with my family. We have also ridden at another ranch on Oahu, but we prefer Gunstock. The reception is just a small hut, giving it a rustic and pastoral atmosphere like a Western movie ranch. There are turkeys, goats, and dogs wandering around, and as you go further in, there are many horses. All of them are large and impressive, exuding both gentleness and dignity. I’ve been there twice, and the staff were all young both times. It really feels like America.

４５歳男性です。２年前にもここで９０分のシーニックコースに参加しましたが、今回は小１女子と小５男子の子供を連れて、親子４人で６０分シーニックコースに参加しました。朝１でレンタカーを借り、ワイキキのホテルから１時間くらいでしょうか、１２月の雨に降られましたが、牧場に着くと見事に晴れ上がりました。
受付の若い女性がそのまま我が家の担当になりました。契約書以外はほぼ１００％英語ですが、わからなくてもなんとかなると思います。１年前にケアンズで乗馬した時の子供の馬はかなり小型で、ワーホリの日本人が手綱を引っ張ってくれましたが、ガンストックでは小１でも本格的な馬に一人で乗ります。ガイドさんが先頭で、その後に子供二人、夫婦二人が続きました。子供は最初かなりビビってましたが、１５分もするとお腹をキックすることにを覚え、それで馬が動いてくれるので、嬉しそうでした。９０分と６０分では距離も違いますが、登る丘の高さがかなり違ったと思います。小学生連れなので、それでも十分で、ノースショアの海が綺麗に見えますし、途中に、馬や牛が放牧されています。馬と散歩するのは、景色も良く、何ともいい気分です。乗馬しながら、牧場のことなど、ガイドさんが色々と教えてくれましたが、私の語学力では半分くらいしかわからず、でも、それも我が家にとっては良い経験です。ガイドさんもこんな我が家に優しく付き合ってくれました。（ちなみに、２回目ですが、いずれもスタッフは若い方ばかりでした。）もしまた行けるなら９０分に家族で行きたいですね。
オアフでは、他の某牧場でも乗馬したことがありますが、私達はガンストックが好きです。受付といっても小屋が一つあるだけで、西部劇の牧場のような、素朴で牧歌的な雰囲気です。あたりには、七面鳥やヤギ、犬が歩き回っていて、奥に進むと馬がたくさんいます。どれも立派な大きな馬で優しくも威厳を感じますね。２回行きましたが、いずれもスタッフは若い方ばかりでした。アメリカって感じです。

My wife has been attending a hula dance class for several years, and to experience authentic hula dancing, we decided to return to Hawaii, where we had our honeymoon, to celebrate our 20th wedding anniversary with a vow renewal. A year ago, during our stay in Hawaii, we utilized Velta's services, which made it convenient to change reservations on-site, so I booked this tour with a three-star rating domestically.

Thanks to the tour sticker on my chest at the meeting point, several crew members congratulated us as we boarded. We had a window-side table for two on the second floor (below the upper level of the five-star) with a great view, and the food was good.

During the meal, we were called and escorted to the third floor (the top floor) via the elevator, where the front of the ship served as the venue. (When we took photos with the captain during our honeymoon, it was on the outer deck, but it might have been this location due to the strong winds and occasional rain that day.) It felt a bit cramped, but the captain came to our table, which was decorated with beautiful flowers, and we made our vow renewal promises while signing a certificate in the captain's presence. I couldn't fully understand the captain's comments since they were all in English, but I managed to respond with "Yes" whenever he looked my way. However, the floor manager, who spoke broken Japanese, explained the flow of the ceremony, and we were able to take videos and photos with our own camera during the ceremony. After that, the champagne included with the tour was served, and we toasted with the captain (who mentioned that his glass contained apple juice while on board).

After the ceremony, when I mentioned that we had also boarded the Star of Honolulu for our honeymoon 20 years ago, the three people present (the captain, the floor manager, and a black-clad attendant) exclaimed "Amazing." The captain was particularly delighted, saying, "I've been the captain of this ship for 30 years, so I probably was on board 20 years ago." The black-clad attendant kept repeating "Amazing" as we returned to our table, which made our happy moment feel even more special.

We returned to our table, continued our meal while drinking champagne, and enjoyed another highlight: the beautiful Friday fireworks, which made for an unforgettable time.

After 20 years of marriage, life has been different from our newlywed days, often moving away from words like "love," but I feel that this vow renewal allowed us to remember our "beginning" as a couple. We are considering participating in this tour for our 25th and 30th anniversaries as well.

　妻がフラダンス教室に数年通い本場でフラダンスを体験するため、また、結婚20周年を迎え、バウリニューアルのために新婚旅行で訪れた同じハワイに行いきました。１年前、ハワイ滞在時にVeltaさんを活用させていただき、予約変更等も現地で行えて便利だったので、国内で本ツアーの３スターを予約しました。
　集合場所でツアーを示すシールを胸に貼ったおかげで、乗船時に『Congratulations』と数名のクルーから声をかけていただきました。席は２F？（５スターの上層階の下）の窓際の二人席でとても景色が良く、料理もGoodでした。
　料理の途中で呼ばれてエスコートされてエレベーターで３F（最上階）に向かい、エレベーターを降りた船の最前面の場所が会場となります。（新婚旅行の時の船長さんとの記念撮影は、外の船主の甲板デッキでしたが、この日は風が強く、時折雨も降ったので、この場所だっだのかもしれません。）少し狭い感じはしますが、きれいな花等で飾られたテーブルの前に船長さんが来ていただき、バウリニューアルの誓いや船長さん立ち合いの証明書サインをして頂きました。船長さんのコメントは全て英語のために十分に理解はできませんでしたが、船長さんが視線を向けるたびに『Yes』と言ってごまかしました。ただ、サポートいただいたフロアーマネージャー？？の方が片言の日本語で流れを説明していただき、加えて式の間は私たち持参のカメラでビデオ＆写真を撮っていただけました。その後このツアーに付いているシャンペンがここで登場し、船長と一緒に乾杯しました。（船長さんのグラスは乗船中のためアップルジュースと言っていました。）
　式の後、２０年前の新婚旅行でもスターオブホノルルに乗船した事を伝えると、立ち会っていただいた３名（船長さん、フロアーマネージャー？黒服のアテンダー）から『Amazing』と言われ、特に船長さんは『３０年前から本船のキャプテンをしているので、２０年前も多分私が乗船したいた』ととても喜んでくれ、加えてテーブルに戻る間も黒服のアテンダーの方も『Amazing』を連発され、私たちの幸せな時間が更に倍増した感覚でした。
　テーブルに戻ってシャンペンを飲みながら食事を続け、もう一つの楽しみも『金曜日の花火』もとてもきれいで、忘れられない時間をいただけた感じです。
　結婚２０年もたてば新婚生活と違って『愛』のような言葉から離れた生活でしたが、今回のバウリニューアルで夫婦お互いに少なからず『初心』を思い出す事が出来たと感じています。
２５、３０周年記念も、このツアーに参加させていただきたいと考えています。
素晴らしい時間をありがとうございます。

This year, before going to North after the usual marathon, we had our first experience due to my wife's request. It was a fun hour with polite service for us who don't understand English. My daughter seemed satisfied, but I think my butt was a bit sore!

いつものマラソン後に今年はノースに行く前に、女房の希望により初体験。英語が分からない私たちに丁寧に楽しい１時間でした。娘も満足したようですが私はお尻が痛かったかな～！

After passing by Kualoa Ranch and driving for about 20 minutes, we saw a sign for "GUNSTOCK RANCH." It’s not very big, so we actually drove past it once, but as long as you don’t miss that sign, it’s easy to find.

On the day of our visit, it was just the two of us, so we enjoyed a leisurely hour of horseback riding with our guide, making a total of three of us in the peaceful ranch setting. The conversation was in English, but she was friendly and approachable. The horse was well-behaved and walked closely behind the guide’s horse, so there’s no need to worry even for beginners.

We enjoyed seeing cows and peacocks roaming freely, and there was even a cave along the way, which was fun. I’ve been to the famous Kualoa Ranch before, but I feel like at Gunstok Ranch, you can truly enjoy a full hour of horseback riding. It was a bit disappointing that we couldn’t see the ocean view below due to the cloudy weather that day. While I preferred the scenery at Kualoa Ranch, I was ultimately satisfied with the experience.

クアロア牧場を通り過ぎて20分ほど車を走らせると「GUNSTOCK RUNCH」とゆう看板が見えます。あまり大きくはないので一度通り過ぎてしまいましたが、それさえ見逃さなければ場所は分かりやすかったです。
当日は私たち2人だけだったので、ガイドさんと3人でのどかな牧場をゆったりと1時間乗馬を満喫出来ました。会話は英語のみでしたが、気軽に話しかけてくれて、優しい女性でした。馬もお利口さんだったので、ガイドさんの馬にぴったりとくっついて歩いてくれました。初心者でも全然心配いりません。
牛や孔雀が自由に歩き回っている光景を見たり、途中洞窟があったりと、楽しかったです。
有名なクアロア牧場も行ったことありますが、こちらの方が1時間きっかり乗馬を満喫できる気がします。当日の天気が曇りだったのもあるせいか、海が眼下に広がる風景が見られなかったのは残念でした。風景に関してはクアロア牧場の方が好きでしたが、結果的には満足です。

My overall experience aboard the Star of Honolulu dinner cruise ship was fantastic! I went with my 7-year old son and he had a blast as well. His favorite part of the evening was going up and down the stairs from one deck to another exploring. And my favorite part was... the view of the Hawaiian sun disappearing behind the endless horizon. :)

We chose the all-you-can-eat crab dinner, and it was literally “all-you-can-eat!” The spirit-of-aloha-filled staff member was cruising along the dining area asking who else would like some more crab legs until the guests could not say a "yes" any more. The quality of food and entertainment were superb.

It was my first cruise dinner, so I did not know what to expect. A funny jokes-filled driver picked us up in a luxury motorcoach bus and upon arrival to Aloha Tower, an elegant staff representative escorted us to the ship. The tables were set beautifully with an orchid in the middle of the dinner plate.

I would definitely recommend this experience both to tourists and to those who live in Hawaii!

I'm glad I choose to celebrate birth on the island 30 years ago with Star of Honolulu. Best birthday ever!!

Overall experience was fantastic. Felt like a condensed cruise trip. Need to make sure you don't eat the trip away because they keep bringing food and before you know it you are back to the dock. Good entertainment staff.

This place at gunstock ranch was amazing the workers there were supportive right off the back. The greeting felt like home, no worries even though we were late due to the place due to traffic the team was very understanding. The 10,000 acre ranch was nice riding cowgirl and McAllen and being followed bullet the donkey was very romanctic. The horses were very easy to ride our tour guide did a good job telling us a little about the ranch what they have to offer and how we can learn a little about HAWAII history there. Me and my wife will most diffently want to come back and do the night dinner I'd enjoy this again prob try the advance racing of horses.

Thank you so much for the lei greeting! My husband was surprised and that is exactly what I was going for. They held up so well, stayed alive and well for our entire 10 day stay on the island and are still alive and well after making the 3,000 mile trip home! Thank you for making our first trip to Hawaii so memorable right from our arrival! I would recommend this to anyone visiting.

I signed up for a horseback riding experience in Hawaii for my honeymoon, something I had been interested in for a long time. I was really looking forward to it, but when it came time to ride, I felt a bit nervous. After all, once you get on the horse, you have to control it mostly by yourself.

However, that thought quickly faded. The well-trained horses (I rode one named Scarlet) followed the lead horse closely unless something unusual happened.

I enjoyed the various scenery, including grazing cattle, the ocean spread out below, and caves, while spending time with the free-spirited horses that occasionally grazed or shook their bodies. The hour flew by.

Although it was a short time, the horses moved differently depending on their personalities, creating a soothing experience that was different from just looking at the ocean.

A couple of points to note are access and clothing. First, regarding access: it's located away from Waikiki, so I think many people go by rental car. We headed there via the North Shore, but we encountered traffic near the beach along the way, which took longer than expected. I recommend allowing extra time for arrival.

As for clothing, there was a sudden rain during the experience. My husband and I were wearing long sleeves, so it didn't affect us much, but those in short sleeves looked a bit cold. This might be common for outdoor activities, but I think it's good to be prepared for changes in weather.

In any case, we had a wonderful time. I recommend this for anyone who wants to enjoy a side of Hawaii beyond just the beach.

ハネムーンでハワイへ、かねてから興味のあった乗馬体験に申し込みました。
大変楽しみにしていたのですが、いざ乗る時には少し緊張。何せ、馬にまたがったあとはほぼ、自分で馬をコントロールしなければなりません。
と、思ったのも束の間。
しっかり調教された馬（私はスカーレット、という子に乗りました）たち、よほどのことがない限り、
先頭のガイド馬に、ピッタリ着いて歩いてくれました。

放牧された牛たちや眼下に広がる海、洞窟などの様々な景色と、時折草を食べたり体を震わせたりする自由な馬との時間を楽しみながら、あっという間の1時間でした。

短い時間ではありましたが、それぞれの馬の性格によって動き方も変わり、海を眺めているのとは違った癒しの時間となりました。

注意ポイントは、アクセスと服装。
まず、アクセスについて。ワイキキから離れた場所にありますので、レンタカーで行かれる方が多いかと思います。私たちはノース経由で向かったのですが、途中のビーチ付近で渋滞が発生し、想定以上に移動に時間がかかりました。余裕を持った到着をお勧めします。
そして、服装。体験の最中に突然の雨。私たち夫婦は長袖着用だったのであまり影響を受けませんでしたが、一緒にコースを回っていた半袖の方が少し寒そうでした。屋外アクティビティでは当たり前のことかもしれませんが、天候の変化に対応できるようにしておくと良いと思います。

いずれにしても、とてもよい時間を過ごせました。ビーチだけではないハワイを楽しみたい方に、お勧めです。

We were on our honeymoon and had a really great time. I would give it 4.5 stars but that wasn't an option so they got 5 because it was better than 4. Food was good and entertainment was excellent. Pictures and drinks were pricey but I guess that's expected.

I took my girlfriend on the Star of Honolulu Sunset Dinner Cruise from Aloha Tower. She was new to Hawaii and was not sure what to expect. I appreciated the fact that they picked us up near the hotel we were staying. Upon arrival, we were guided to our casual dinner level, or deck. This was somewhat bothersome, just because there could have been more flow to it. Once we got on the ship, we were seated promptly. The tables were set and an orchid flower was placed in the middle of the dinner plate. (Very nice) Before long, we were off the dock and on to our adventure. The meal was buffet style, food was okay. While we dined, there was a single singer, who sang many of the songs associated with Hawaii and songs from movies about Hawaii. He was friendly and personable. After dinner, coffee and dessert was served on the outside deck. Shortly after, a smoking hot hula show began, where they explained the history of hula, as well as performed several numbers of Hawaiian music and dancing. While this was happening, a beautiful sunset was developing outside on the deck, and I was able to snap many quality sunset photos. We traveled parallel to the Waikiki hotel row, and went slightly past Diamond Head, before we turned back. It was an awesome experience and truly romantic. I have personally done the luau shows in and around Waikiki, and I always seem to gravitate back to the sunset dinner cruise. My belief is that I get the most value for my money on the sunset dinner cruise. I get a boat ride, a meal, a hula show and the beautiful sunset all for the price of one ticket. I will return.

This was my first ride and the one activity that was more for me than the birthday boy, he did enjoy it as well though!! Our guides were awesome and even remembered our names although It was a group of 6... Only wish is that it was a little later so that we could have gotten a darker sky with more colors!!

My daughter, grandkids and I had a great experience with Star of Honolulu. The show mesmerized my grandkids and the "conga line" gave party boat a new meaning. Would live to go this activity again.

This is a horseback riding club located near Kaena Point on the North Shore. There were six participants, and everyone seemed to be a beginner. Two staff members accompanied us, and the horses were well-trained, which made us feel safe.

We were able to ride along the beautiful North Shore coastline and had a wonderful time.

参加者は６人でした、皆初心者のようでした。
スタッフさんは二人付いてくれて、馬も慣れているので安心です。

Had a good time. Id go again. This time i would like to try the sunset ride.

This time, I participated with my 61-year-old mother and 33-year-old daughter (myself). The activity is a meet-up at the location, but it's far from Waikiki, so if you don't have a rental car, you'll need to take a taxi or find another way to get there. I drove the rental car for about 50 minutes, as there was some traffic along the way. The road at the end is an unpaved gravel road, and since there are no signs along the way, it can be a bit unsettling.

As for the horseback riding, at our 9 AM reservation, there were five other customers (two groups of two and one group of one) besides us, but those five formed one group, while we were in a separate group with one instructor for the two of us. The five-person group had a photographer with them who took pictures while they moved (we did not have a photographer).

All the explanations were in English, but they taught the basic movements with gestures, so even if you don't speak English, you'll manage. Also, during the actual horseback riding, the horses are smart, so even if you don't perform the instructed movements, the horses will keep moving along, so you'll be fine as long as you're on the horse.

It's a one-hour course, and we were able to enjoy Hawaii's nature by going through the forest and to places where we could see the ocean. If I had to wish for something, I think it would have been even more fun if the horses had a bit more speed, but overall, I was satisfied with the experience.

今回、61歳の母と33歳の娘(私)の2名で参加しました。
こちらのアクティビティは、現地集合なのですがワイキキからは遠いので、レンタカーを借りていない場合はタクシーで行くなどの方法になります。私は途中渋滞もあった為、レンタカーを50分程運転して行きました。道は最後だけ舗装されていない砂利道を通るのですが、途中に看板などが無い為、少し不安になります。

肝心の乗馬ですが、私達が予約した9時にはお客さんが私達以外に5人(2人、2人、1人のグループ)いましたが、その5人で1グループ、私達は2人にインストラクターが1人つく別グループでした。5人グループの方には、カメラマンがついていて写真を撮りながらの移動のようでした(私達の方にはカメラマンはいませんでした)。

説明は全て英語でしたが、ジェスチャーを交えて基本の動きを教えてくれるので、英語ができなくてもなんとかなります。また、実際の乗馬中は馬が賢いので、教えてもらった動作をしなくても馬がどんどん進んでくれますので、馬に乗っていれば大丈夫です。

1時間のコースですが、森の中や海が見える場所に行ったりと、ハワイの自然を満喫する事ができました。
欲を言えば、馬のスピードがもう少しあるとより楽しかったかなと思いますが、総合評価は満足でした。
