Our tour guide was very accomodating and had lots of helpful hints.

Have breakfast before starting, because the Diamond Head hike isn't a leisurely stroll in the park... you're going uphill a long way and it'll make you sweat!
Bringing a flashlight would be a good idea, because the majority of the hike is on an unpaved and and sometimes uneven path. Which can be a problem for a pre-dawn hike.
We didn't exactly get to see the sun rise per se. We arrived at the top in plenty of time, there were some clouds on the horizon.
Go inside the bunker, all the way to the back, to access the spiral interior staircase to complete the pathway loop. Seems like a lot of people aren't aware that they need to go into the bunker to do that.

I'd recommend having at least $30 per person in cold hard cash on hand, to pay for lunch etc.

If you don't wear sneakers, you could have a little trouble walking over seaside areas with sharp lava rock...

I have traveled to Hawaii about 20 times, including long stays, and this is my first visit in four years. I considered taking a bus or renting a car to get to Manoa, but since it was my first time in the area and I wanted to learn about the local plants, I decided to join this tour.

On the day of the tour, there were about four groups of Japanese participants and around four to five groups from English-speaking countries (the mainland, Australia, Italy). Our tour guide, Kanako, attended to everyone using both English and Japanese. I imagine she must have been quite tired from speaking both languages the whole time, but she was always smiling and considerate of everyone, truly a wonderful person.

Kanako's friendly approach made the bus ride and our exploration enjoyable, regardless of nationality. I participated alone, but I had the chance to chat, take photos, and exchange contact information with a woman who was also traveling solo from the mainland, which gave me a sense of the overseas travel experience I had missed. Thank you!

When we left Waikiki, the weather was quite overcast, and I wondered what it would be like in Manoa, but fortunately, it didn't rain during our exploration. We enjoyed the great outdoors while being careful of our footing. Along the way, we heard various stories, and I realized that the information shared during the tour was something I wouldn't have easily obtained on my own, making my decision to join the tour the right one.

After our exploration, we were served sandwiches from Andy's, a three-generation establishment in Manoa, along with water at Tantalus National Park. (The sandwiches here are incredibly filling; I was full after just half and took the rest home. The taste was excellent too, with a delightful sweetness in the bread!) Since it had rained, we ate together under a pavilion. Normally, we could have enjoyed our meal on the grass, further immersing ourselves in nature. After eating, we moved to a spot where we could see Diamond Head, Waikiki, and the airport for photos. Initially, clouds obscured our view of Diamond Head, but the weather changed suddenly, and by the end, we could see a bit of blue sky. I thought it was a miracle.

I usually participate in tours that are exclusively in Japanese, so I found this mixed tour to be a wonderful opportunity to communicate with people from overseas. I believe travel companies should actively promote mixed tours.

At the end, we all hugged goodbye. Although it was a short time, it was a very meaningful experience during my brief stay in Hawaii.

ハワイへはロングステイもしたり２０回程度は渡航しています。そして4年ぶりのハワイです。マノアへはバスやレンタカーを使っていくことも考えましたが初めての土地とそれから現地の植物等の情報も知りたかったのでこのツアーに参加しました。
当日は日本人（日本語）のグループが４組程度，英語グループ（メインランドやオーストラリア，イタリア）からの参加が4組~5組程度でツアーガイドのKANAKOさんが英語と日本語両方を使って参加者の方々をアテンドしてくださいました。
英語と日本語でずっと話していたのでいつもよりきっと疲れたと思いますがいつもニコニコしていてずっとみんなを気遣っていて本当に素晴らしい方です。

KANAKOさんの対応がフレンドリーでバスの中や現地での散策が国籍問わず一体となって楽しく移動できました。私はひとりで参加しましたが本土からひとりで参加していた女性の方と一緒にお話しして写真を撮ったりメアドを交換したりと久しぶりに海外旅行にきた感触を得ることができました。ありがとうございます。

当日はワイキキを出たときはかなりどんより曇っていてマノアではどうなることかと思いましたが，散策途中は雨は降らず足元に気を付けながら大自然を満喫してきました。途中でいろいろなエピソード等も伺いやはり自分ひとりではなかなか得られない情報だったと思いツアー参加は正解でした。

散策終わるとマノアで３世代続くアンディーズのサンドウィッチとお水がタンタラス国立公園で渡されました。（ここのサンドウィッチはものすごくボリューミーで私は半分だけでお腹いっぱいになり持ち帰りました。そして味も最高。パン生地に甘味があって美味しい！！と思いました）
雨の後だったので東屋のようなところでみんなで食べました。いつもなら芝の上等で自然をさらに満喫しながら食べられたと思います。食後は公園内のダイヤモンドヘッド~ワイキキ~空港までが見渡せる場所へ移動し写真撮影しました。写真撮影の最初は雲がかかってしまっていてダイヤモンドヘッドも見えない状況だったのですが途中から天気が急変して最後はすこしだけ青空が見えました。奇跡だと思います。

私は普段日本語（日本人）だけのツアーを当たり前のように参加します。今回このように混在したツアーは海外に来て海外の方とコミュニケーションをとるすばらしい機会だと思いました。積極的に旅行会社も混在ツアーをアピールしてよいのではないかと思います。

最後はみんなお別れする時はハグしてお別れしました。とても短い時間でしたが短いハワイ滞在の中でとても有意義な時間となりました。

The whole thing was wonderful. They were very well organized. Time was perfect. The place & the hiking trail was smooth & everybody was behaving as a family member or friend so I didn’t feel alone at all. The team was very cooperative & friendly & kind.

Great to see the nature of Oahu, and learn from the guide

The voucher mentioned that water would be provided, so I thought it would be cumbersome to carry water while climbing the mountain and decided not to bring any. However, water was only available during lunch, and there were no places to purchase it. At first, I reluctantly started walking towards the waterfall, but it was very humid, and the incline was steeper than I had imagined, making it a tough journey. I took a short break along the way, and realizing that continuing without hydration would be a burden to others, I decided it was best to turn back. It seems that those who participated through HIS were informed in detail to bring their own water since it would only be provided at lunchtime. I believe it's necessary to include such detailed information for future participants. It was very disappointing as this was my husband's retirement trip, and it had been three years since our last visit to Hawaii.

バウチャーに水がいただけると書いてあったので、山に登るのに荷物になると思い水は持参しませんでした。しかし水をいただけるのは昼食の時で購入する場所も一切なくで、最初は仕方なく滝に向けて歩き始めましたがとても蒸暑く想像していたより傾斜がありハードな道のりでした。途中少し休憩をしたので水分補給なしでこのまま最後まで歩くのはかえって他の方に迷惑かかると思い無理と判断して引き返しました。HISから参加した方は細かく水は昼食時に渡すので持参してくださいと記載があったようでした。今後参加する方の為にも細かい記載は必要だと思いました。主人の定年退職記念旅行で３年ぶりのハワイだったので非常に残念でした。

Great experience! We also used the shuttle service and we’re able to look and enjoy the scenic drive while the driver told us about the areas we passed.

Our tour guide, Susumu, kept the atmosphere light with jokes throughout, making it a fun experience. His attention to detail was excellent, and I felt comfortable the entire time. In addition to Manoa Falls, we also enjoyed the stunning views from Tantalus Lookout, which seemed a bit hard to access. The lunch was also very delicious. I would love to join Susumu's tour again next time.

ツアーガイドのススムさんが終始ジョークで場を和ませてくださり、楽しく過ごす事が出来ました。
要所要所での気配りも素晴らしく、始終、心地よく過ごす事が出来ました。
マノアの滝に加え、アクセスの悪そうなタンタラスの丘の素晴らしい景色も楽しめました。
お昼ご飯もとても美味しかったです。
今度もススムさんのツアーに参加したいです。

The Manoa Falls hike and tour was an amazing adventure and wonderful experience for my whole family of 9.
The tour guys was very friendly and educated on the mountains and Tree's that are in the environment.

I was a little nervous about the hike since my youngest is 4 years old and never been hiking before. The Tour guides where very helping in giving us information on how the trail might be slippery or what to expect so that everyone could enjoy the hike.

After the hike we went for a small lunch picnic on one of the mountain tops. We had great food and got to explore and see great views of the Waikiki Valley and Ocean views. We also got to see the diamond head mountain area.

This is an amazing opportunity to get some great pictures and learn about the Manoa Valley waterfalls as a family activity with younger kids.
I would highly recommend this to anyone looking for something fun to do.

Amazing tour. The pickup was very smooth. Mike was a really nice guy with a lot of knowledge aviut the different plants, fruits, animals and the history of the island. The hike is made for everyone, not to hard but also not too easy! A must do when on Oahu!

The hiking tour was great. The pick-up was smoothly and made everything easier. Hiro was an amazing guide with a lot of knowledge about the plants and history of the island! The lunch was great, the way from the lookout was amazing where you could see the Diamond Head, Waikiki, Pearl Harbour and the airport! Thank you Hiro for an amazing tour!

Mr. Susumu, our guide, was amazing. He was well-informed about both the local area and Japan, and he guided us while engaging in fun conversations. The tour was enjoyable in a relaxed atmosphere from start to finish. The lunch at Tantalus Lookout was also fantastic.

I found out that I needed permission to hike Diamond Head, so I decided to join the Manoa Falls tour instead. I wasn't expecting much, but our guide Hiro was kind and provided detailed explanations. I was able to soak in a lot of negative ions, and it turned out to be a fun tour.

ダイアモンドヘッド登山が事前に許可を貰わないといけないことがわかり、急遽マノア滝ツアーに参加することにしました。あまり期待をしてなかったのですが、ガイドのHiroさんが親切で、細かく説明して下さったし、マイナスイオンも沢山浴びることができて、楽しいツアーでした。

We found out that there were no other Japanese participants besides us on the pickup bus, but we felt reassured knowing that our Japanese guide, Hiro, was there to support us. The path to Manoa Falls was through a lush tropical rainforest, allowing us to enjoy a side of Oahu beyond just the beaches. The local guide who explained about the plants was friendly and had a lively tone, making it enjoyable! After walking just under 1 km, we arrived at Manoa Falls, which had a decent height but a relatively low water flow. The width of the waterfall was unexpectedly narrow, which was a bit disappointing. Exiting the rainy tropical rainforest, Manoa town was dry, and it was interesting to see the climatic changes due to the terrain. We picked up lunch at a popular sandwich shop that has been around for three generations and headed to Tantalus Hill. Enjoying a sandwich that lived up to its reputation while overlooking Diamond Head and the hotels in Waikiki was incredibly pleasant. Although Hiro, our Japanese guide, mentioned that he has only been a guide for a short time, we appreciated his attention to detail.

ピックアップのバスに乗ってみて自分達夫婦以外に日本人の参加者はいないことが分かりましたが、ちゃんと日本人ガイドのHiroさんが付いてサポートしてくれて安心。
マノアの滝までの道は鬱蒼とした熱帯雨林で、ビーチだけではないオアフ島を楽しめた。植物などについて説明してくれた現地ガイドの方は気さく、軽快な口調で面白かった！1km弱歩いて到着したマノアの滝は高さはそこそこあるものの水量が少なめ。滝の幅が予想外に狭くてややガッカリ。雨が降る熱帯雨林から出るとマノアの街はカラッとしていて地形による気候の変化が面白かった。街中で3代続く人気のサンドイッチ店でランチをピックアップしてタンタラスの丘へ。ここからダイヤモンドヘッドやワイキキのホテル群など一望しながら、人気店と言われることが納得できるサンドイッチを頬張るのは凄く心地良かった。
日本人ガイドのHiroさんはガイド歴はまだ短いとのことだったが、細かい気配りがありがたかった。

Really pretty fall and some great eats in the beginning!

First, we slowly rode down Tantalus Drive on 11 bicycles, enjoying the scenery and nature along the way, while two guides ensured our safety. After that, one guide took just five of us for an afternoon hike in Kailua, which was not too strenuous and was a fun course filled with nature. Since it had rained beforehand, the ground was slippery, so please choose shoes that won't slip. We received snacks and water, but since it was around lunchtime, it would have been nice to have lunch boxes or something similar.

まず11台の自転車で、タンタラスの坂をゆっくりと駆け降り途中景色や自然を楽しんだ。2人のガイドさんが安全を確認しながら。
その後1人のガイドさんと5人だけ、午後のカイルアの山のハイキングへ、それ程しんどくはない、自然がいっぱいの楽しいコース。
雨の後だったので滑りやすく、靴は滑らない物を選んでください。
スナックと水は頂いたのですが、時間帯がお昼を挟むので、ランチボックスなどあると良かった。

The site says you see areas of where jurassic park and lost was filmed but the instructor didn't mention anything once. At the end of the tour she asked if I've seen the movies, and it didn't go further than that. She talked about how her tips were for her vacations. Google it. Save yourself money and take yourself on the tour.

The day was perfect. It was an early start but I honestly couldn’t imagine doing Diamond Head any later. Bring water bottles or you’ll be thirsty! Then we got to stop at the Leonard’s bakery truck which is one of the must haves while you are here!! From there you make 7-8 stops at all the iconic beaches, food stops and more! Our tour guide was amazing. He wasn’t overly talkative which we all appreciated so we could have some conversation but he was super knowledgeable and told us some super awesome things about Hawaii and the local secrets! We decided as a group to skip the last beach because we were all beat from the full day but I would totally recommend anyone looking to see all the things while in Hawaii!!

Our guide, John was awesome! We were picked up early in the morning for the Diamondhead hike. This hike I would consider moderate, and is a spectacular view of the city and naturescape of Waikiki/ Honolulu. We continued on to several stops around the island of Oahu that we otherwise wouldn’t have been able to see as we didn’t rent a car for this trip. This full day adventure allows you to see many sites as well as learn about the region via a knowledgeable guide. Highly recommend!!

It was so worth it!!! We were glad that we took this tour, we had the chance to see how beautiful the view was from the top of Diamond Head. We sweat a lot but it was a good exercise early in the morning. We had multiple stops and saw a lot of stunning views. Our lunch stop was in an area with multiple food trucks. There’s a lot to choose from but it looks like Giovanni’s shrimp scampi is the most popular. No regret that we go with the hype as their shrimp was so tasty garnished with a good amount of garlic. Need more rice please lol. Stephanie our tour guide/ driver was so nice, she was very patient and seemed to really enjoy what she is doing. There’s so much pride in her when she is showing this area of Hawaii. Thank you Stephanie for your warm service.

It was just perfect to start our stay in Oahu with a familiarity of the area around our hotel from our guide Stephanie and proceeded to hike in Diamond Head. It was challenging to go up to the top but worth it to see the very nice view during sunrise. We were given enough time on this hike, so no need to rush. Our tour guide/driver Stephanie was very nice and informative. We were just a smaller group of 6, and so the tour became so friendly and personal. We made a lot of stops and took a lot of beautiful pictures.

At first I was skeptical to book this tour because of the early morning start of the tour (my husband and I are not morning people) but we are so glad we did because it was our favorite activity we did during our trip to Oahu. Jon was the best tour guide and was so knowledgeable! He was very punctual but never rushed on when we would explore a little more. Diamond head was a must! I am not the most athletic right now but I’m so glad I finished it, the views are incredible. The food truck you stop at has one of the most amazing food and the fruit stand has the freshest fruit! All in all, I highly recommend this tour!

Good hike, a bit difficult though as there are rock parts and tough hills.

Had a great day at the hike and the tour of Oahu island was very informative and fun!! Jonah, our tour guide, was very polite and knowledgeable. I would recommend it to anyone who likes to hike and wants to learn about Oahu Island and its most popular sightseeing places. This hike and tour is worth your money. You won’t be disappointed.

Stephanie our tour guide was awesome, let me just state the first!
Doing the Diamond Hike that early was great, being one of the first ones on the hike(less people to wade through) and the cooler temperature in the morning allowing the ease of the hike to be a breeze.
Then checking out the eastern part of the island is relaxing when you do not have to drive yourself. Exploration is something that intruiges me, so looking to where i can go and explore on my own; this tour allows just that. This is something to do if you do not what to explore on this side of the island. Allowing you to take another tour, or rent a car and explore yourself. This being the first time for my girlfriend coming to the island and having a delightful and informatitve host to a nice tour.

We had an amazing day. The early hike beat the crowds of the park, and was perfect to catch the sunrise. Our tour guide was very timely, clean, and went above and beyond for our group. Highly recommend this tour!

My girlfriend and I had a wonderful experience on this tour. This was a great opportunity to see some sights outside our hotel's immediate area. It was convenient to have the diamond head hike included in this package. Our tour guide Stephanie was amazing. Very knowledgeable about the island sights and her positive energy made the experience more exciting. This was much needed because half way through the tour I definitely felt like I was going to crash from exhaustion. So just be prepared for a long day but it's worth it!

It was so nice to book and the transportation was easy - the actual was really great too!

This was one of the best tours! There were 8 of us and the driver Alan was very attentive to our needs and explained everything in detail to all our questions. He was awesome! Would highly recommend this tour to everybody.

Our driver was amazing, very nice and knowledgeable First stop was the sunrise at Diamond Head, we had just enough time to hike to the top and get back down. So many stops along our North Shore experience, even got to see sea turtles. Definitely recommend this experience.

The overall trip was good. The driver was on time to pick us up and very nice and accommodating. We started with the early hiking at the diamond head hike which is great because it gets quite hot after 9am at the top and by the time we got back, there was a large crowd waiting to get the tickets to start the hike. The view at the top of the crater was very nice. You can see all the high rise buildings in the waikiki area. It does take about 45min one way with 0.8 miles to climb up to the top. You will climb through a small tunnel which was cool.

Then he drove us around the island and we stopped at a few different beaches. We saw the area with very expensive houses which was very interesting. We also stopped to see the koko trail and the blowhole. We then stopped at a few additional places including the place where they sell macadamia nuts. That was a very nice place where we get free coffee and can taste all different kinds of macadamia nuts before we decide to buy them. We then stopped at the food truck place for lunch and the food was not that good. The garlic shrimp has too much garlic and the butter and lemon shrimp was too blend. What is worse is there was a lot of flies, so we have to constantly worry about the flies going to our food! The kids had a great time chasing the the chickens though.

We then stopped at another fruit stand and the sunset beach. We were supposed to stop at another beach but we decided to skip as there were too many stops along the way and mostly are shops for tourists. The last stop was the Dole plantation which was a big disappointment. I did not even get a chance to see even one pineapple! The place was so crowded with fancy stores selling tourist merchandises and the ice cream was ok. We were not able to get on the train to see the pineapple fields as the tickets were sold out. The maze was ok, but no pineapple there. I personally do not recommend going to dole plantation.
