We participated in a deserted island tour at Kailua Beach with our family.

I had many concerns about whether my parents in their 60s could handle a tandem kayak, but the distance was just right... It turned out to be great exercise and satisfied our curiosity, resulting in a wonderful experience. For those who feel that just sightseeing or spending time on the beach isn't enough, I think this tour is perfect.

Our guide, Chris, was very kind and shared Hawaiian folklore and stories about nature during the deserted island tour. I fell even more in love with Hawaii.

In addition to the tour, you can also rent snorkeling gear and stand-up paddleboarding equipment, making it highly recommended for those who want to fully enjoy Lanikai and Kailua Beach.

There is a Japanese guide available, so it's reassuring to have someone who speaks Japanese. It would have been better if the shuttle bus driver spoke Japanese as well.

The operation of the kayak and paddling is manageable. However, we practiced on the river before moving to the sea, and you need strength to carry or pull the kayak. If you're a woman alone, it can be quite challenging.

Once you start paddling out to sea, it surprisingly moves along well. The sea is beautiful, and the view is fantastic. However, it's advisable to use sunscreen properly, as you can get quite sunburned.

日本人ガイドもおり、日本語を話せるガイドがいるので安心です。送迎バスの運転手が日本語を話せるとよりよかったのですが。
カヤックの操作、パドリングはなんとかなるものです。
ただ川で一度練習してから海へ移動したのですが、

I wanted to do kayaking and my wife wanted us to do that in a two-man boat, which was fine with me. But then she chickened out at the last second and I had to kayak a two-man boat by myself. It was hard and embarassing and the situation sucked.

Despite that, I had a great time. My guide was very understanding of the situation and helped me along the whole way. My group kayaked to a small island a quarter-mile out to sea and he gave us a small tour. Interesting stuff.

When we came back, the manager gave us a partial refund on my wife's payment because she was in the boat for less than five minutes.

It was a good time. If you go to this place, ask for either Matt or Mark (can't remember). He's an orange-haired dude who wears a Gilligan hat.

I chose to go to the Waimea Falls and Botanical Garden and on the Kayak ride...also got to lay around on Waimea Beach and jump off the rock! I had a total blast. The driver/guide was knowledgable and friendly and made sure we all had a great time. I would recommend this to anyone.

I previously went to Kailua by bus, and with the waiting time and transfers, it took about two hours from Waikiki. The tour shuttle bus arrived in about 30 minutes from the hotel, which I thought was a significant advantage for making effective use of time.

It was a guided kayak tour, so I had to go on my own after watching a video, but I couldn't remember everything perfectly since I needed to pay attention to both the visuals and subtitles. However, when I later asked the staff about things I didn't understand, they kindly explained everything, which made me feel at ease before setting off.

Carrying the kayak to the water was quite challenging for two women and took some time, but we managed. The launch site for kayaking was designated, and the staff helped us out.

We kayaked to the nearest uninhabited island, landed, and surprisingly stayed longer than expected because there were birds and great views. We even encountered a turtle along the way, and we completed the round trip to the uninhabited island without capsizing. For lunch, we could choose from several places, and I picked pizza, which I heard was popular among locals, and it was a satisfying meal.

After that, I really wanted to go to Lanikai Beach, so I rented a bike for $10 and got there in less than an hour, hurriedly took some photos, and dipped my feet in the ocean before heading back. The cycling route was fantastic, allowing me to enjoy the sea and greenery.

Although I didn't use them, I was pleased that snorkeling gear and mats were available for free, and bike rentals were half price. Overall, it was a tour that my friends and I were very satisfied with.

カヤックで、一番近い無人島までいき上陸、鳥がいたり、眺めがよかったりで意外と長居しました。途中亀に遭遇することもできて、転覆することなく無人島の往復でカヤックは終了しました。お昼は何店舗からか選べて、地元でも評判だと聞きピザを選び、満足なランチでした。
その後、どうしてもラニカイビーチに行きたかったので、10ドルで自転車を借り、1時間足らずで行ってあわただしく写真撮って少し海につかって帰ってきました。サイクリングコースも海や緑を感じられて最高でした。
使う機会はありませんでしたが、シュノーケルやゴザなど無料で借りられるのはうれしく、レンタサイクルも半額でした。
友達ともども大満足のツアーでした。

It was a memorable sea-kayaking trip. Just be aware of one small detail: the bathroom/restroom facility is suitable only for temporary bath & cloth change. Very much likely you have to come back for a real full bath at your hotel. Aside from this, every else (which counts towards 99% of the trip) is great !!

It had been years since I played at the beach, so I was initially anxious, but thanks to our guides Mark and Yasu, I had a wonderful experience (even though I got really sunburned…). Thank you!

After arriving in Kailua, I felt like we wasted over an hour waiting for the kayak after the briefing. There wasn't enough time to visit Kailua Town, and since we had to meet at 11:30 but the pizza place opened at 11, I had to settle for a mediocre loco moco... (After kayaking, we changed and left right away, so there was no time for lunch.)

However, the content, scenery, and staff were all excellent, so next time I want to choose a course where we can take our time. Mark mentioned he would email photos to those who wanted them, so I'm looking forward to that.

海で遊ぶのは何年ぶり（？）だったので初めは不安でしたが、ガイドのマーク、ヤスさんのおかげで楽しい体験ができました。(ものすごく焼けましたが…)ありがとう！
カイルア到着後、説明を受けてからカヤックに乗るまでの間が１時間以上あって時間がもったいない気がしました。カイルアタウンに行くには時間が足りないし、１１時半集合なのにピザ屋さんは１１時OPENのためあきらめていまいちなロコモコを食べざるを得なかったり…（カヤックに乗った後は着替えてすぐ出発だったのでお昼を食べる時間はありません。）
でも内容、景色、スタッフは最高なので、次回はもっとゆっくりできるコースを選びたいと思います。
希望者にはマークさんが写真をメールで送ってくれるといっていたので楽しみに待っています。

I had been to Kailua before, but I chose this tour because I wanted to try sea kayaking.

First, there was someone who was late for the pickup time (they were a foreigner...), so we seemed to arrive a bit late and started in quite a rush. (There was no time even to go to the restroom...)

This tour seems to be affected by the wind on the day, but fortunately, it wasn't too windy, and it took about 25 minutes to reach the island 1 kilometer away. (According to the instructor, it was a great performance.) I don't have great athletic skills, so I was a bit anxious, but surprisingly, I was okay.

Paddling together was fun, and it ended so quickly that I wished we could have paddled a bit more. The weather was nice, and we could even see Molokai Island.

During the free time after lunch, I borrowed a bodyboard and headed to the beach. I heard from the instructor that Kailua is beautiful in the afternoon, and the sea was truly a stunning blue.

I highly recommend it.

First time on surf bus, me(45), niece(25), son(9), daughter(4). Only paid for 1 activity each because we didnt know the time schedule or what would work best. Pick up 8:15am. Nice tour of different beaches at north shore. Finally arrived at 1st activity spot at 10:30 me/daughter went to waimea beach, niece/son waimea falls and walked to us. Others did snorkeling. Picked up at 1pm. Next stop haleiwa where we got 1 paddle board and 1 double kayak. Son loved padded boarding by himself! We switched off and met back at 3. Others walked through town and ate. We did great with just one activity eac (2 waimea waterfall entrance, 1 paddle board, 1 kayak). Others did th snorkel then th paddle board the 2nd half. The falls walk was hot and long but my son still enjoyed. Beach was nice for me and my 4 year old to float in the calmer waves. Definitely enjoyed our trip! Nice ending was a couple days later I realized I had left my daughter's life jacket (brought a good one for my entir vaca

Not much of a tour. Driver OK - very little information given during ride, made a few recommendations. Driver dropped everyone off then went surfing for both the morning and afternoon sessions.
Other folks in group disappointed in the amount of walking, lack of bike helmets and places where the road had no bike trail.

Upon arriving at the shop with lockers, we received an explanation and headed to Kailua Beach. After that, we had lunch and kayaking, so we only had about an hour to play at the beach. Kailua Beach is very beautiful, and the breeze felt nice.

As for kayaking, to be honest, it was tough for me as someone who is not athletic and has a bit of a flabby body, but I somehow managed to reach the uninhabited island in last place. This led to a bit of a quarrel between us, which brought down the mood, but we were encouraged by the instructor's energetic and reliable presence, and we ended up having a great time. On the uninhabited island, the instructor shared stories about birds and mythology, which was enjoyable.

For those going with a partner who may not have much stamina, please lead them without getting angry. That's the secret to having fun!

This activity was a great experience. Our guide was very knowledgeable and made sure everyone had a safe and fun experience. I would do this activity again! After our trip we were allowed to use either snorkle gear or bicycles until out tour bus picked us up. Staff is very polite and attentive!

This time, there were only my husband and me on the guided tour. My husband has kayaking experience, but I was a beginner. The guide kindly taught me how to get into the kayak and how to use the paddle. With a spirited "Let's get to it!" we walked for about three minutes with our gear, and in front of us was the beautiful blue ocean of Kailua, welcoming us with a sea turtle! It was so cute popping its head out of the water. However, there was no time to be amazed as I nervously got into the kayak and set off into the open sea. We paddled hard, following the guide towards an uninhabited island about 300-400 meters away. Despite the headwind, as we paddled, another sea turtle swam nearby! In a moment of surprise, we forgot to paddle and exclaimed, "Wow!!!" After a brief moment of excitement, I quickly returned to focus, being careful not to hit the turtle with my paddle, and we paddled for another 20 minutes before safely arriving at the island. The guide explained in detail why this island was formed, the habits of migratory birds, and that it is a protected area. Along the way, we found a pair of migratory birds in a hole and discovered crab shells, all while having a great time walking around the island. After that, we expressed our desire to go snorkeling at Lanikai, and the guide happily agreed, so we got back into the kayak. Paddling from the island to Lanikai Beach was challenging as we had to paddle at a right angle to the waves to avoid being swept onto the sandy beach. Fortunately, we encountered another sea turtle along the way. This time it was a baby turtle, small and adorable! We couldn't believe how lucky we were to see so many turtles as we made our way to "Heavenly Sea." Lanikai has many coral reefs, making it a perfect spot for snorkeling! We enjoyed snorkeling with the guide, greeted by small fish, large fish, and colorful fish, which made all the paddling fatigue disappear. Although I’m not very good at swimming and couldn’t go far, the guide was thrilled, saying, "Look at this big fish (about a meter long)!" After about 15 minutes of snorkeling, we took pictures together and had a blast! The two-hour tour went by in a flash, and we kayaked back to Kailua, where we said goodbye to the guide. After that, we had lunch at a pizza place and enjoyed some free time. Of course, we returned to Kailua Beach afterward!

15分ほどシュノーケルを楽しみ、写真を3人で撮り合い、大騒ぎしてとても楽しかった~!!!!2時間のﾂｱｰｶﾞｲﾄﾞもあっという間で、再びカヤックでカイルアへ向かい、Shopへ戻ってガイドさんとはお別れ･･･。その後はピザ屋さんでのランチとフリータイム。ランチ後はもちろん再びカイルアビーチに戻りましたが♪キレ

I had friends visiting the islands, and they wanted to do something a bit different, and 'off the beaten path' so I decided to take them Ocean Kayaking over in Kailua! We headed out, a bit late, and got there and the staff at Kailua Sailboards and Kayaks were amazing and friendly, telling us all the best insider tips for kayaking out there! We got out into the ocean, and it was extremely windy and choppy, but it was so much fun heading out to Flat Island and then over to the beach for a bit of relaxing snorkeling and sunbathing. Thanks again to the great staff at Kailua Sailboards for all their help with everything kayak and ocean related, my friends and I had a blast braving the elements and spending the day out on the water!

While driving in Kailua, I saw people kayaking towards an island, and I just had to try it myself, so I quickly returned to the hotel and signed up for a guided tour.

My 9-year-old son and my 70-year-old father, along with the whole family, enjoyed it. While paddling towards the island, the staff kept a watchful eye on us, which made us feel safe. The beauty of the ocean goes without saying, and once we landed on the island, they provided explanations about nature in Japanese, which was very informative.

For lunch, we chose pizza, and it was incredibly delicious, which surprised us. The slices were large, so I was worried about whether we could finish them, but they were so tasty that our whole family devoured them.

I'm really glad I participated since it's an experience you can't easily have in Japan! This is an activity I want to repeat.

I usually struggle with group activities, so this was my first time participating in something like this, but the local staff were incredibly friendly and naturally made it fun to learn, creating a warm and relaxed atmosphere. On the day of the activity, the wind wasn't too strong, so we paddled to Lanikai Beach and enjoyed the beautiful beach before heading to a deserted island. Lanikai has crystal-clear waters that are breathtaking, fine sand, and we even spotted some sea turtles in the distance... you absolutely have to experience it at least once. In the afternoon, we had some free time, so I rented a bike and rode for about 10 minutes to Kailua Shopping Center. There are many unique shops that you won't find in Ala Moana, and I really enjoyed shopping there.

I thought kayaking might be tough for us as a couple in our fifties, but we only felt a bit tired in our arms and managed to paddle all the way to the island offshore. Along the way, a sea turtle came very close to our kayak, which was really lucky. It will be a lifelong memory.

Since it was my first time kayaking, I was initially a bit anxious about whether I would be okay. However, the staff member who assisted us was Japanese and taught us patiently, and within just 30 minutes, we were out on the sea heading towards Flat Island. We had chosen a 2-hour guided tour plan, but for those who want to paddle more, there seems to be a longer course plan available, which I would recommend.

For lunch, I ordered pizza as mentioned in the reviews here. The staff's recommendation was the Spinach Garlic Pizza, so I ordered that and it was very delicious! There were other varieties I wanted to try, but the portion was quite large for one person, so I gave up on that.

In the afternoon, I was able to relax on the beach. Since there were waves, it might be nice to rent a bodyboard (which was free) and have some fun.

　カヤックをすること自体初めてだったので、大丈夫かな？と当初不安がありましたが、担当してくれたスタッフは日本人の方で、丁寧に教えてくれ、ものの30分で海に出てフラットアイランドに向かっていました。2時間のツアーガイド付きプランにしていたので、もっと漕ぎまくりたい方は長いコースプランがあるらしいのでそちらをお勧めします。
　
　お昼はここの書き込みにあった通りにピザを注文しました。こちらで勤めているスタッフのお勧めはホウレンソウガーリックピザだったので、それを注文して食べましたが、大変おいしかったですよ！！他にも種類があるので試してみたかったのですが、一人前が大きかったので諦めました。

　午後からはビーチでのんびり過ごすことができました。波があるのでボディーボードなんかを借りて（無料でした）遊ぶのもいいかもしれませんね。

The blue sea and blue sky were truly amazing. I got tired because my wife didn't paddle much... haha. There's a shaved ice shop that President Obama would eat at when he comes to Hawaii, and it was really delicious! I highly recommend it. It's very close to Kailua Beach (which is the meeting point for this tour), so definitely stop by when you're nearby!

A very nice activity for those who tire of the crowds in Waikiki. A wish list item would be a shuttle to Lanakai. That is one of the best beaches in Hawaii, but is a good 25 minute walk from the shop. But, also have Kailua Beach (sp?) very nearby, which is almost just as good. The staff was great and shared numerous insights about both the activity and the history of the area. We did the short tour, which took us to the bird sanctuary island. A pretty location with great picture opportunities. We will book this again next visit and maybe do the longer tour. A nice workout, but nothing too strenuous and perfect for novice kayakers like us. Decent food and snack options nearby and overall a fun way to spend an afternoon. Check it out!!

If the sea had been a bit calmer, we might have enjoyed it more leisurely, but the memory of paddling hard to get across is also a good one.

When I returned to the hotel, my abs and legs were sore, making it a bit tough to get up in the morning. Well, that's also a good memory.

On my husband's strong recommendation, we decided to try kayaking as a couple. I honestly wasn't very enthusiastic at first, thinking, "We're definitely going to capsize!!! This is scary!!!" However, once we actually tried it, it was a lot of fun. They taught us carefully, and fortunately, we didn't capsize (laughs). The beach was very beautiful, and it was great for relieving our lack of exercise.

At Flat Island, we were able to see birds in their nests, and we all enjoyed eating a grass that had a strange taste (it was similar to olives and quite delicious). Besides kayaking, we had a great time. By the way, we chose pizza for our set lunch, and it was a fantastic choice! I heard that spinach pizza is quite popular♪
