I so so so recommend the Surf Bus!! It was one of the best ways to see and experience North Shore! The driver was the best! He have great information and was so funny!! The paddle board was amazing, waterfall beautiful and the beach with snorkeling just awesome!! I recommend wearing water shoes as the rocks can be a little hard on your feet...(waterfall and snorkeling areas) Hands down best your we took!

The day we participated was very windy, and as complete beginners, we were anxious, but we had a lot of fun and managed to complete the tour safely. At first, we learned how to hold the paddle and how to change direction on land. Perhaps because the start of the tour was delayed, we didn't practice in the canal as mentioned in the reviews and went straight to the sea! Since it was guided, the staff supported us, and we were able to get out to sea without any issues. However, participants without a guide struggled and kept capsizing at the shoreline, having a hard time getting out to sea. Once we were in the ocean, we just kept paddling... It felt like it took about 30 minutes to reach the island due to the strong wind. By the time we arrived at the island, we were exhausted. There were two guides for four groups of participants, including us. Along the way to the island, we gathered at intervals to ensure we didn’t get too spread out, all aiming for the island together. A pair of girls initially lagged behind, but the guides temporarily towed them with a rope attached to their kayak, so they seemed to enjoy themselves without falling too far behind. The guides took photos while we were kayaking. I was hoping to get some pictures during the kayak trip, so I thought it was a nice service... but although they said they would send them via email, it has been about two months, and I haven't received anything. I feel like I won't be getting them at this point. The way there was tough due to the headwind, but on the way back, it was challenging to avoid drifting into the swimming area without paddling.

If I may say one thing, as someone who has worked in the travel industry, it was a bit problematic that the schedule differed from what was stated here... I think some customers might come based on the itinerary. On the day, the hotel pickup was at 8:30, but when we arrived, we were told, "The kayak tour starts after 11:30," which meant we ended up waiting for nearly two and a half hours. I thought there would be free time after kayaking, so my plans got thrown off. I was advised to eat lunch beforehand, but I was worried about getting seasick, so I couldn't eat much. The return bus was at 2:30, and kayaking ended around 2:00. From there, we walked back to the shop, changed clothes, and answered a survey... We could have changed to a later bus, but everyone seemed to have other plans and wanted to make the most of their time, so we ended up hurrying.

Despite everything, I would definitely like to do it again. The beauty of nature and the fun of kayaking were, of course, wonderful, but all the staff here were friendly and great people. The foreign staff spoke fluent Japanese, and we had a great time.

参加した日が、風がとても強い日で超初心者の私たちは不安でしたが、とても楽しく無事にできました。最初は地上でパドルの持ち方や、方向転換の仕方などを教わりました。ツアー自体の開始が遅かったせいか、ここの口コミで見た運河での練習はなく、いきなり海へ！　ガイド付きだったので、スタッフの方がサポートしてくれて、問題なく海へ出れましたが、横でガイドなしの参加者の方は、波打ち際で何度も何度もひっくり返ったりでなかなか海へ出れずにいました。海に出たらひたすら漕ぐ・・・風が強くて島に着くまで30分くらいかかった気がします。島に着いたらグッタリでした。私たちを含めて4組の参加者に対して2人のガイドさんがついてくれてました。島への道のりの途中途中で間隔が空き過ぎないように集まったりして、皆で島を目指す感じです。女の子2人組も最初遅れがちでしたが、ガイドさんのカヤックと紐で結び一時的に牽引してくれたりしていたので、女の子2人でも遅れることなく楽しそうでした。　ガイドさんがカヤック中に写真を撮ってくれていました。カヤック中の写真を撮りたいなぁと思っていたので、嬉しいサービス・・・だと思ったけど、メールで送ると言われていましたが2か月ほど経っても送られて来ず。もう送られて来ない気がします:( 行きは風が向かい風で大変でしたが、帰りは漕がなくても進んでしまい遊泳区域に入らないようにするのが大変でした。　

一つ言わせてもらえれば、旅行業に携わっていた者としては、ここに記載の日程と違ったのは困りものですかね 。。。日程を見て来るお客さんもいると思うのに。　当日はホテルに8時半ピックアップでしたが、着いたら「カヤックツアーは11時半過ぎからね～」と結局2時間半近く待つハメに。カヤック後に自由時間があると思っていたので、予定が狂いました。お昼を先に食べておいた方が良いと言われたので食べましたが、酔ったら嫌だなぁと思うとあまり喉に通らず。帰りのバスは2時半で、カヤックが終了したのは2時ごろ。そこから歩いてお店に戻り着替えてアンケートに答えて・・・遅いバスに変更も出来ましたが、やはり皆、他にも予定があったり時間を有効に使いたかったのでしょう、急ぐハメになりました。

なんだかんだ言っても、また是非やりたいです。自然の美しさやカヤック自体の楽しさはもちろ んですが、ここのスタッフが皆フレンドリーで良い人ばかり。外国人スタッフも日本語ペラペラで楽しい時間が過ごせました。

Staff was very courteous and helpful. Price was reasonable. Had a great first time kayaking.

This tour is highly recommended for those who love getting out and active! Our guides Boris and Garrett were very helpful by instructing us on the basics of kayaking and snorkeling. We spent a total of about 1.5 hours snorkeling and about an hour of kayaking. I enjoyed seeing both coral reefs that we visited at the sandbar and loved to learn a little trivia about the place. I saw some wonderful reef fish and some folks even saw turtles. Afterward, we had a home-cooked BBQ lunch. Yum! The scenery was absolutely gorgeous and I hope to come again sometime. By the way, this tour is a ran by Holokai Kayak and Snorkel Adventure, a wonderful group that also runs a children's non-profit program Kama'aina Kids, which provides local children with day camps for learning environmental stewardship. Proceeds go to support the He'eia State Park and its programs. This place should be on your must see list!

I made a last-minute online reservation after business hours the day before, and it went through smoothly. I received a confirmation email around 7 AM on the day of the activity, and I was picked up at 8:30. The staff member was a cheerful white guy who was quite playful with the customers (laughs). The local staff was a Japanese woman, and I didn't encounter any issues.

What helped the most was having a locker available. The kayak is quite heavy, and it can be a bit challenging to pull it to the launch spot, so having a man around is helpful. I was a complete beginner, but paddling was easy. We were able to fit three people: two adults and one elementary school child.

The sea was not crowded and felt great. I wish we had more time to explore the town of Kailua, as it was a bit disappointing to not have enough time. For lunch, we could choose from two different places. It felt like a beach house, and the food was delicious. Although they didn't speak Japanese, the staff were nice.

前日の営業時間後に思い立ってネット予約したのですが、ちゃんと予約できました。当日の7時頃確定メールが来て、8時半にピックアップ。スタッフは陽気な白人のお兄さんで、客いじりが激しかったです(笑
現地のスタッフは日本人女性で、困ることはありませんでした。
何より助かったのはロッカーがついていること。
カヤックはけっこう重く、乗る場所まで引いて歩くのはちょっと大変なので、男性がいないと辛いです。まったくの初心者でしたが漕ぐのは簡単でした。大人二人＋小学生ひとりの3人で乗れました。
海はすいていて気持ちよかったです。もっと時間があればカイルアの街を散策できたので、時間が足りないのが残念でした。
お昼は2つのお店から選べました。海の家という感じのお店でしたが美味しかったです。日本語は通じませんが店員がいい人でした。

This kayak trip was awesome. I booked this tour since I heard that snorkeling is awesome in Kaneohe, and I wanted to get away from busy Waikiki. I was picked up from my hotel in Waikiki in the morning, and once we got to the state park, we were greeted by friendly staff at their gift shop where we checked in.

Make sure you bring your insect repellent. I got bit by mosquitos a few times. Once we were briefed and went down to the launch pad, our kayaks were tugged to the boat so we didn't have to kayak all the way to the first snorkel spot. The guide dropped us around the half way, and we kayaked about 15min to get to the Coconut island. The coral was BEAUTIFUL and there were a lot of tropical fish.

After 30min or so, we were then tugged again to the 2nd location. It was awesome since we were already a little tired from snorkeling. I liked the 2nd location at the sandbar, and this spot was also beautiful. The other snorkelers spotted a huge sea turtle.

We then had a chance to choose if we wanted to kayak back or tugged on the boat again. I chose to kayak back, and it was a perfect amount for kayaking for a day.

They had a fresh water shower at the park, and they took us to their BBQ lunch spot where we had a chance to eat delicious lunch with their staff.

Overall, this was a great tour. Especially recommended for families with small children or older people who can't kayak too long. Tugboat was awesome.

We did several tours and the North Shore was our favorite. The North Shore was gorgeous. There were a bunch of awesome little shops and art galleries. We rode bikes and went snorkeling. It was awesome!

I'll keep it short and sweet. Our guide Keala was great. Knowledgeable and easygoing. It was very windy day so we were unable to actually kayak as much as we might have usually which was a bit of a disappointment. I felt the tour should have put off/postponed the outgoing or at least attempted to somehow offer compensation for the shortened outing. But my only real beef was with the knuckleheads who 'helped' me on my landing upon return. They had me get out of the kayak too early in deep water. A large wave turned my kayak over, it washed back at me and I had to jump over it as it washed back, and only my agility saved my knees/legs! They probably didn't even see this happen. That being said, on a normal not so windly day, this would be a great tour.

Wow! what an entertainer Harry was & related so well to us being Aussies & accustomed to the surfing fraternity. We're recently retired & I was on crutches after an operation & nothing was too much trouble. He made special trip in between activities to come & pick me up from Waimea Falls to save me walking. We couldn't praise him enough. Go Harry!!!!!!!!!!!!! Thank you for a wonderful insight into life on the North Shore of Oahu.

I participated in a tour that included a kayaking experience this time, as Kailua Beach was wonderful before. The beach was as beautiful as ever, and with the wind, the kites were flying around. Since we had a guide, we received a briefing and then headed out to sea!

On the way there, we struggled against the wind, trying to synchronize our paddling. The guide, who was fluent in Japanese, explained various things when we arrived at the small island and even took photos for us, which was really nice. We also received snacks and water and enjoyed a little bit of snorkeling.

On the way back, we quickly arrived with the tailwind. The pizza for lunch was as delicious as rumored! I ended up going back the next day for the beach and the pizza. I rated it ★4 because I wished the return time had been a bit later. The staff was friendly, and I highly recommend it.

以前カイルアビーチがすばらしかったので、今回はカヤック体験を盛り込んだツアーに参加しました。
ビーチは相変わらずの美しさ、風があったのでシーカイトがビュンビュンと飛んでました。ガイドつきにしたのでレクチャーを受けいざ海へ！！
行きは風に流され四苦八苦しながら息を合わせて進みます。日本語が堪能なガイドさんで小島に到着してから色々説明してもらったり、写真撮ってくれたりでとっても良かったです。おやつとお水ももらってシュノーケリング（ほんのちょっと）も楽しみました。
帰りは追い風であっという間に到着。
ランチのピザは評判通りのおいしさ!　ビーチとピザのために翌日また行ってしまいました。
もうちょっと帰りの時間が遅いと良かったなぁと思ったので★4つにしました。
スタッフも親切でおすすめです。

Good Time. Had a wonderful day. The tour guide was friendly and provided a lot of interesting facts and trivia about Oahu on the drive up, as well as the trip back. Once at the North Shore the choice activities and the loosely organized agenda made for an enjoyable day. Would definitely recommend. Great value.

We were looking for a tour to see the North Shore but have the freedom to do what we want to do....we couldn't have picked a better tour. This is the perfect tour for people looking for freedom to do/go where they want. We had Sam as our tour guide, a native from Hawaii. He was informative and very the perfect style of guide for this tour. Knew what he was talking about, laid back but still detail oriented enough to handle everyone's activities and where they were. We went there the day of the Volcom Pipe Pro at the Pipeline. We rented bikes at the North Shore Surf Shop (an included activity with the tour - no extra charge) and that allowed us to go freely around. We rode up to the surf competition to watch live. The nice part was with the bikes, you were stuck in one spot the whole time. Watched the competition, then rode down the coast to Sharks Cove and Waimea Bay. It was great to have no schedule or "planned activities" when we got there. We had 3 hours to do what we want. Some wanted nothing to do with the surf competition and they could do what they want. Everyone had their own agenda and this tour worked great with it. (For a quick bite to eat, hit up Pupukea Grill. Its a food truck in Sharks Cove with a heavenly flatbread.) Met back next to Sharks Cove for the bus and rode to Haleiwa for the afternoon. Again, free time through the town to experience the city itself or do water activities at Surf N Sea. We wanted to experience the town, so we went into the surf shops, stores and walked around the town itself. (For a great sandwich, hit up Waialua Bakery and Juice Bar next to the grocery store...phenomenal.) For being a smaller town, Haleiwa is a very cool town to experience. After the town, we were to a beach to view the sea turtles that come on shore. It was amazing to see the turtles that close.

This was an experience of a lifetime. Although the scenery was breath taking all by itself, our tour guide Princess made it even more meaningful with her knowledge of the area and the local customs. This experience will always be a fond memory of my first trip to Hawaii. Thank you Princess!!!!

Really well organised trip - from bus pick-up to drop off. All staff were exceptionally professional placing a great emphasis on safety. Our guide knew the area extremely well and provided intriguing insights in to the local environment. I went by myself and had a great time with the group I was allocated. I would definitely book with this company again.

Went on this for one of our honeymoon activities! A lot of fun! We got a complimentary shuttle from our Waikiki Hotel and then watched a video and were sent on our self guided trip! You can visit and small island while kayaking or kayak to another beach and go snorkeling! We even saw a sea turtle! Definitely would recommend and lunch was included! Beautiful beach!

This was an awesome tour. The driver was local and gave lots of information about the area...what it used to be and what it is now. Many changes in 45 years. There was plenty of free time to explore. That was the best!

Harry is a great guide with plenty of energy, he will make sure you have a good time and show you some of the best places to hang out. You can lay on the beach and chill out of take part in a host of activities.

The "Surf Bus" Rocked my world, got timed out and lost my heartfelt compliments. I can't rewrite my praises. It does not do justice. Going to try:
Sam was an amazing guide, the playing, eating, and listening on the North Shore, my taste of heaven. Just visualize; Sea Turtles, tidal pools and an eye to eye with an Eagle Ray, food to die for, and 1000 reasons to keep coming back. An awesome "build your own burger". Surprise yourself and go for it! Not a sit and stare tour, unless your waiting for a set, or focused on sea turtles. You still get to do your driving. Came back exhausted and completed. 50 years in and now I figure out happy. Better late than never.
Mesmerized by the bright smiles, and sense of community that emerged as we talked through our day. 20 people, 5 countries and a bevy of dialects. It was right Kraky, but no worries mate.

The ocean in Kailua is incredibly blue, and it was a 64-year-old grandma who set out kayaking alone. Her friends were 65 and 55 years old, and we could do anything! Snorkeling in the coral reefs of Lanikai—landing on a deserted island!!! We were completely satisfied!!! The three grandma kayakers were eager to challenge themselves again the next day. It was a joyful time in Oahu, absolutely fantastic!!!

カイルアの海の真っ青な事、その海を1人カヤックで漕ぎ出したのは6４歳のグランマですよ。一緒の友人は65歳と55歳、何でも出来ましたよォ～～　　ラニカイの海の珊瑚礁でシュノーケル～～～　　無人島上陸！！！　もう、大満足！！！でした～～～　もう1度次の日も挑戦したいと初めてのカヤックグランマ3人組は意気揚々でした。ルンルンオアフでした、サイコ～～～～～

I participated without a guide, but the staff were very helpful, offering assistance and support, which was great. We landed on Flat Island, and while I saw groups with guides who provided detailed explanations about the island and how to get around, I thought, "Maybe I should have gone with a guide," but I was satisfied because we could take our time at our own pace.

Since the tour has a short duration, I would like to take my time on the next visit. We wrapped up kayaking early and enjoyed some pizza recommended by the staff (it was really delicious!) while snorkeling. We quickly spotted a sea turtle! That was probably the best memory.

The ocean was very beautiful, unlike Waikiki Beach, and the population density was still low (maybe because it was a weekday?), which really felt like the essence of a Hawaiian beach! I think it's perfect for enjoying kayaking, swimming, and snorkeling little by little.

ガイドをつけずに自力での参加でしたが、スタッフの方が声をかけてくださったり、助けてくださったりして、助かりました。フラットアイランドへ上陸しましたが、島の案内や回り方などを丁寧に説明していただいているガイド付きの方たちを見ていると、「つけた方が良かったかな＾＾」と思いましたが、自分たちのペースでゆっくりとやれたので満足しています。
このツアーは滞在時間が短いので、次はもっとゆっくり行きたいと思います。
カヤックは早々に切り上げ、スタッフお勧めのピザを齧りながら（本当においしかった！）シュノーリングをしました。すぐにウミガメを発見！これが一番の思い出かな。
海はワイキキビーチと違い、とても綺麗で人口密度もまだ少なく（平日だったから？）、これぞハワイのビーチ！という感じでした。
カヤック、遊泳、シュノーケリングを少しずつ楽しむには最高だと思います。

Best way to visit the North Shore Area. There is so much to do on this tour I only wished it had lasted longer. We snorkeled at sharks cove where we saw beautiful fish and sea turtles, swam under a waterfall at Waimea Valley, visited sunset beach and turtle beach. We then hung out and ate in Haleiwa town. There are different options to choose from depending on your package. We missed Waimea bay - could not fit into schedule. Maybe next time. Highly recommend if you are NOT renting a car.

The guide was very kind, and I had a great time. It’s a round trip to Flat Island, but even beginners can participate with confidence. You can spend time by the beach until the bus back to Waikiki departs. I thoroughly enjoyed the beautiful sea.

I went to Flat Island with my daughter on a two-person kayak. At Flat Island, we were able to see seabird eggs, which was a wonderful experience. The sea was very beautiful, and it's a place I would like to visit again. Carrying the kayak to the sea was a bit tough, but the refreshing feeling afterward was exceptional. At the pizza place for lunch, little birds came by, and we had a great time.

娘と2人乗りカヤックでフラットアイランドまで行きました。
フラットアイランドでは、海鳥の卵を見ることができ、とても良い経験が出来ました。海はとても綺麗でまた行ってみたいところです。
カヤックを海まで運ぶのがちょっと辛いですが、その後の爽快感は格別です。昼食のピザ屋さんでは、小鳥も寄ってきて楽しい時間を過ごせました。

This was an awesome physical activity! We kayaked to a gorgeous island with our amazing and informative guide "Keala"! Saw turtles and dipped ourselves in the Queens bath...fun fun fun

Even as a first-timer, I was able to participate without any anxiety because the staff taught us patiently. I was also impressed by the beauty of the ocean! However, it seems that the weather conditions were unusually good recently, so I felt a bit underwhelmed as we reached the uninhabited island without much difficulty. For those with kayaking experience, it might be more enjoyable to just rent a kayak and move around freely.

Also, the pizza recommended by the guide for lunch was delicious.

初めてでもスタッフが丁寧に教えてくれたので、不安なく参加出来ました。
海のきれいさにも感動！
ただ、ここ最近では珍しいほど天候の条件が良かったらしく、特に苦労せず無人島まで辿り着けたので多少物足りなさを感じました。
カヤック経験者の方は、カヤックのみ借りて自由に動き回った方が面白いかも知れません。

あと、ランチに食べたガイドさんオススメのピザがうまかったです。

It was my first experience with kayaking, so I was worried it might be difficult to reach the uninhabited island, but it was no problem at all! Before getting into the kayak, we had a briefing on how to paddle, and even after we hit the water, our guide provided us with advice.

Due to my lack of exercise lately, my arms got a little tired (^ｰ^;), but the amazing views from the kayak made me forget all about that!!! On the uninhabited island, you can also snorkel if you wish. Next time, I want to challenge myself to a longer distance.

For the morning tour, we transported the kayaks from the shop to the beach, but since there was a cart, it was easy. Moving it from the cart to the sandy beach was a bit challenging (though it was just a short distance).

カヤック初体験だったので、無人島まで行くのは大変じゃないかな？と心配しましたが、まったく問題ありませんでした!カヤックに乗りこむ前に漕ぎ方のレクチャーがあり、海に出てからもガイドさんがアドバイスしてくれます。
日頃の運動不足のせいで、腕が少し疲れましたが(^ｰ^;)、カヤックから望む素晴らしい景色でそんなものは吹っ飛んでしまいます!!!
無人島では、希望すればシュノーケルもできます。
次回はもう少し長い距離に挑戦したいなと思います。

午前中のツアーは、カヤックをSHOPからビーチまで運ぶのですが、台車が付いていたので、ラクラクでしたよ。台車から下ろして、砂浜の上を移動させるのが少し大変でした(といっても、ほんの少しの距離です)

This was my first experience with sea kayaking, and it was a lot of fun. At one point, I lost my balance and capsized, but our guide, Jordan, helped me get back on track quickly, and I was able to enjoy myself. The view on the uninhabited island was so beautiful that I wished I had brought my camera (they lend you waterproof bags). I definitely plan to bring it next time. Kailua Beach is really pleasant, and during the free time in the first half of the tour, it might be nice to lay out a rental mat and just relax. By the way, the teriyaki chicken in the lunch plate was also delicious.

今回シーカヤック初挑戦でしたが、大変楽しかったです。途中、バランスを崩して横転してしまいましたが、ガイドのジョーダン君にすぐに立て直してもらい、楽しく過ごせました。無人島では景色が良かったのでカメラを持ってくれば良かったと思いました(防水の荷物入れを貸してくれます)。次回は必ず持っていこうと思います。カイルアのビーチは本当に気持ちよく、ツアー前半の自由時間はレンタルのゴザを敷いてぼーっとするのも気持ち良いかもしれません。余談ですが、お昼のプレートランチのテリヤキチキンも美味しかったです。

The weather was great, and it became a wonderful memory.
Pulling the kayak from the shop to the sea might be tough for girls, but it's all part of the experience♪
The sea was even more beautiful than I imagined.
I was able to see sea turtles twice while kayaking (*^^*)
The snorkeling wasn't that great, but I was happy to have a choice for lunch. It was delicious.
Since we had some time, we went cycling around the town after lunch.
The timing was just right, and it was a great tour.
