I heard from a friend that I should definitely see the evening show, so I included it in my schedule. It was a full-day course, but a half-day course or just the evening show might also be good options. The show featured dancers on an outdoor stage, delivering a powerful performance. Since it was a story-based show, it kept me engaged and was quite fulfilling. I highly recommend it! Additionally, the students in the park were very friendly and readily joined in for photos, making for a fun day.

This was the second time we've done the Starlight Luau. We liked it the first time and we weren't disappointed the second time around. The biggest plus is the food; it is varied and delicious. The performers are pretty good as well. The one negative is the setup; the tables are packed so everyone is crammed together like sardines. A little more elbow room would make this a 5 star review. We've been to other luau's that you need to take a 40 minute bus ride to get repeatedly bitten by bugs on the beach; this one has better food and far more convenience.

Before arriving at the location, we picked up about 20 Japanese participants, but after we arrived and split into different groups, it ended up being just the two of us in our group with one guide, making a total of three people. The guide explained everything in Japanese, which made us feel at ease. We were able to experience hula lessons, ukulele lessons, making flower leis, and crafting rose flowers with lauhala leaves.
For dinner, we watched a show, but there were mostly Americans and hardly any Japanese (there were a few Chinese). I didn't have high expectations for the taste or content of the meal from the beginning, so it didn't bother me.
As for the show, the fire dance in the second half was spectacular and definitely worth seeing. Overall, I was quite satisfied with the experience.

This is a really convenient luau. In good walking distance or a cab ride away from all the hotels and incredibly delicious food. Be sure to get the Golden Circle, because we did and we had excellent front row type of seating. CHECK IN EARLY TO BYPASS THE CROWD!!!
Some bad "Cons" about this is:
there is no good/ romantic picture taking scenery, chairs are situated very close to eachother so your banging elbows with the next person, its on the top of a parking lot structure and its just surrounded by a bunch of buildings.
Staff was friendly, water is always provided, the Food is BETTER tasting from all the other Luau's I have been too.. so that is a plus.

I wasn't sure about a Luau IN Waikiki but this one was really enjoyable. You don't have to take a bus 45 minutes each way or more outside of Waikiki, as you have to do with the other Luau's, which is a real plus! The food was excellent with a big assortment so there's really something that everyone would like. There's not really a bad seat in the house either. Of course we were sitting front row and it was pretty cool. Worth the extra bucks, in my opinion. The performers were really top notch. I'm not sure what I expected but they definitely exceeded anything I could have imagined. Definitely the best fire-dancers I've ever seen and I live here, so I've seen many. The whole experience was really fun and impressive. A great way to experience the culture of the islands.

We easily could have spent all day at the Polynesian Cultural Center, and definitely hope to go back and do so someday! But for our 6-year old daughter, that would have been far too much. She enjoyed the canoe ride, the tattoos, the leaf weaving, and the poi demonstration. She is still talking about the dinner. Us grown-ups also loved the experience. The luau and the after show were exceptional! Far better than a previous, more expensive and over-rated experience on Maui. I think that if you only do one tourist activity on Oahu, this should be it, including the show. The HA show is WELL worth the price!

Four years ago, my mother liked it, so this was our second visit, and I decided to upgrade to Super Ambassador this time.
On the bus ride there, our seats were assigned (there was a paper with our names), and when we arrived, a lovely young lady guided just the two of us. We had front-row seats for the shows at each outdoor village, and during the canoe ride, we were alone while others were in large groups (which was a bit awkward). The meals were supposed to be buffet-style in a separate area, but the staff brought the food to us when we asked.
We had front-row center seats for the show, and during the fire knife performance, it was thick and quite scary.
I think the price is high, but it's perfect for fully enjoying the center, especially for seniors.

This facility is operated by a religious university that also manages a fund to preserve the cultures of the Polynesian countries from around the world. About 70% of the performers are students, with half of them being Japanese exchange students. It was interesting to see the students from six Polynesian countries showcase dances introducing their respective nations, but the final show was truly the highlight. It seems that it wasn't as impressive in the past, but the version that was remade a few years ago is a must-see, featuring a rich story that lasts for a full 1.5 hours. I thought it was just a fire performance, but the content was quite substantial. It's better to choose deluxe seating.

On the day we arrived in Hawaii, my husband and I participated in the "Twilight Deluxe" tour in the evening. Although I have visited Hawaii several times, it was my first time going to the Polynesian Cultural Center. I was a bit worried about the distance since I'm not great with cars, but during the ride, our Japanese guide shared enjoyable stories, and we arrived in just a little over an hour.
The restaurant near the entrance that we usually used for meals was under construction, so we took a canoe to a restaurant located deeper inside the center. During the ride, the paddler explained the Polynesian countries on both sides of the river in English. The meal itself wasn't particularly deluxe, but we had plenty of fruit.
After eating, we walked to the theater near the entrance and were surprised to find that the facility was much larger than I had expected, and almost all the seats were filled. The bus guide mentioned that about 20% of the tourists were Japanese, which seemed accurate, as most others appeared to be families from the mainland and older couples from Europe.
The show featured high-quality dancers and was very impressive. The story was well-structured, and we enjoyed various dances from different Polynesian countries, laughing and watching the fire dance—it went by in no time. Photography was prohibited during the show, but afterward, we were able to take pictures with the dancers.
I heard that the content of the show had just changed recently, and I would love to see a different version next time. Also, I definitely want to go during the day next time to see the canoe show and participate in various activities from different Polynesian countries!

I went to Hawaii for my first overseas trip this time. I participated in the tour of the Polynesian Cultural Center starting from the evening of the arrival day. During the one-hour drive from the pickup, I enjoyed the scenery from the car window. After arriving, we took a canoe to move to the restaurant deep within the park.
As for the meal, it was a buffet style, and while the taste was just okay, I appreciated the variety of fruits available. We didn't use the canoe to get to the theater; instead, we walked for about 15 minutes while taking photos along the way. Since I ordered the deluxe course, our seats in the theater were in the second row from the front, which was the best position to enjoy the show.
At first, I didn't have high expectations for the show since I didn't understand English, but as soon as it started, I was captivated by the energy of the many dancers and the story of the show, and before I knew it, the first act was over. During the intermission, I used the dessert coupon from the ticket to enjoy a large serving of ice cream.
In the second act, there were comedic scenes that made me laugh out loud, and I also enjoyed the fire dance. It was a wonderful show that I could only experience in Hawaii, and I was very satisfied. When the show ended, everyone gave a standing ovation, and it was very moving. HA!
