Great sights from above! Lower cost than helicopter but still amazing sights!

Five years ago, I saw the Na Pali Coast on a cruise, but at my husband's strong request, we participated in a helicopter tour. I was able to understand the safety video before boarding thanks to the Japanese subtitles. I had two concerns: motion sickness and the fast-paced English explanations, but there were no problems at all. I took some motion sickness medication just in case, but the ride was very smooth with no turbulence, and above all, the scenery was so stunning that there was no time to feel nauseous.

What made it even better was that the pilot spoke fluent Japanese. We were the only Japanese people on board; the others were from the mainland, but with the interpretation provided, everyone felt friendly and welcoming. It was a fantastic tour that was worth every penny.

そしてさらに良かったのがパイロットの方が流暢な日本語でお話しして下さいました、日本人は私達だけて他は本土からの方々でしたが
通訳していだたき参加している皆んなフレンドリーな感じに包まれました。
お値段だけの価値はある素晴らしいツアーでした

Kevin picked us up at our hotel on time and spent the day showing us the west and south sides of Kauai. He gave us lessons in pronouncing Hawaiian words, the geology of Kauai, and history of Kauai, while driving from viewpoint to viewpoint. He was sensitive to what we were interested in and what types of food we wanted for lunch. We were impressed that he understood the weather patterns, kept a constant watch on the clouds, and was able to get us to the Waimea Canyon and Na Pali coast viewpoints at times when we could see the views.

We had a most enjoyable day and would highly recommend tour guide Kevin and The Ultimate Kauai Private Island Tour - South and West tour.

Loved this- you cannot go wrong getting to see the islands from above, especially Kauai and all the greenery and water falling!

My wife and I had taken guided tours before mainly in the Carribean. On those tours, we stopped for various activities: touring a ruin, lunch on the beach, and a hike through a rainforest. Our guide, Kevin, did an excellent job trying to show us everything (and finding restrooms). The fault was not in the guide but in the attempted scope of the tour. It was six hours of driving and stopping for photos and then more driving. For instance, there were two waterfalls on the tour: One (twin falls) in the great distance and the other along the roadside (blink and you would miss it). It would be better if we could be taken to the trailhead and allowed to hike close to the falls. Or maybe with some preplanning, we could have swum at one of the beaches we stopped at. Although my wife and I are in our 60s and 70s, we are both very active. It was an introduction to the Island but we were exhausted at the end of the six hours.

Best island for heli-tour, best experience in our life, best heli-tour and best pilot Samantha! 100% worth it!! Thanks a million for everything Mauna Loa Helicopter Tour!

Nothing beats these views! How we wish we could see them always!

The staff were friendly, and even though I don't speak English, I was able to participate happily. They were also considerate of my worries about motion sickness and turbulence during the flight, allowing me to enjoy the flight with peace of mind. And above all, the view of Kauai Island from the sky was amazing!

Susan was fabulous. She was so knowledgeable about the island and great with our kids (ages 5 and 7). She told us history of the island and suggestions on things to do during our stay. When our kids were getting tired and a bit cranky, she went out and got them water and popsicles. This tour was the highlight of our trip!

Our helicopter tour was the highlight of the trip so far. What a way to see the whole island of Kauai. Our pilot Robert was great. We saw everything. I was amazed at how safe I felt. Would definitely recommend not skipping this!

My family and I had never been to Kauai and I wanted to book this tour as it had some fun things to do. Rosario was a great tour driver, very funny and knowledgeable and safe driver. We went to Opaekaa Falls, then went on a river cruise on the wailua river to the fern grotto (while on the boat we learned how to hula and enjoyed listening to the smith family singing and dancing hula). Then we went to Waimea canyon aka the Grand Canyon of the pacific- pictures do not do it justice. Very breathtaking. Then we went to kauai coffee plantation where we sampled amazing coffee and finally went to see the spouting horn. Overall a great tour with Rosario

We enjoyed the tour overall but wish we had more time and one or two more stops around the Waimea Canyon. The tour takes in a few different spots across Kauai, but the real highlight is the Canyon. So it's a shame to only get a few different opportunities to stop and take photos. The tour picked us up and dropped us off promptly, and our guide Rosario told us a bit about the island and it's history, which we liked. The lunch provided was better than we expected. If we had the chance again, we would drive to the Waimea Canyon itself to explore it independently. If we had to take a tour again, we would consider this one as we felt overall it was good, if not perfect.

We had Mark as a pilot and he was awesome! Very personable, informative, and had a great sense of humor. We got to see the whole island except for one canyon due to cloud cover. Would love to do it again!

We thoroughly enjoyed this sightseeing tour, with driver & guide, Kaleo. He was helpful, informative and hilarious! Stories, quips and jokes all day long. We even learned how to pronounce "humuhumunukunukuapua`a"! We saw some highlights of the beautiful island of Kaua`i including the spouting horn blow hole and we were lucky enough to get a clear view of the waimea canyon, before the clouds rolled in! We had a tasty lunch at chicken in a barrell and sampled delicious coffee at the Kaua`i coffee plantation. The trail at the state park is very short and the order of the stops is different to that listed on the veltra site, but regardless we would 100% recommend this tour.

This was a great tour and glad I chose the small airplane ride versus helicopter. Our tour guide was very informative and took note that most of us loved the waterfalls so it appeared he concentrated on this piece with extra attention. There was 6 of us in the group which was the entire plane. Two small children. Our 6 year old was extremely excited and loved the tour. She did get a bit warm in the plane towards the end. Glad we booked this tour!!!

This tour was exactly what we were looking for a full day of sight seeing, lunch and no effort on our part!!

What we experienced:
- Pick Up - we got picked up at 7:30 in the morning by the shuttle and then it went to many other hotels to pick up other passengers. Your time will vary depending on where your hotel is.
- Sights - we got to see all the sights listed on the itinerary including some extras at the beach. We saw the Monk Sealions and Turtles at the beach and that was a bonus treat! The pit stops were the perfect amount of time to hop out to take photos, enjoy the sight and then move on.
- Waimea Canyon - lots of different view points - we got to see it from all around. There was PLENTY of picture ops. This was really a hop on hop off photo tour. So don't expect any hikes or long walks. What I loved is I never had to worry about the parking situation, paying park fees, or the driving obviously. It's perfect for anyone without a car or for cruise go-ers. Even though we had a car rental, I didn't regret not having to do this drive myself. I got to nap on the way back because even though I didn't hike, it still was a long day.
- Lunch - The food exceeded my expectations after reading the reviews (I'm sure the bad experiences were during Covid times). We had huge chicken portions and it was seasoned well and cooked well. The plantation that we ate at was beautiful and relaxing so we enjoyed the lunch break a lot.
- Coffee plantation tour - nice pit stop that we wouldn't have made on our own but enjoyed the op to tag along on this tour.

Our tour guide (so sorry for not remembering his name-Italian man from NJ originally) was great. He gave good history, good info all while he was driving. He had so much knowledge and good recommendations and really funny!!

The tour was exactly what we wanted to explore a large chunk of the island - no stress and no worry on our part.

Saw all parts of the island. Tons of waterfalls. Even whales in the ocean. Saw one breech. Mark did an excellent job of explaining the island past and present. I had to reschedule due to rain but the next day was fabulous weather. Building staff very helpful and pleasant to work with.

Wow! Breathtaking views, and its awesome to get guided, you learn so much of the history.

Rosario(I might get his name wrong) was very friendly and informative. The bus was very nice and spacious. Perfect for my tall giant! Thank you for an awesome experience.

It was our first time in such a tiny plane. The flight was full of incredible views over almost whole Kauai with interesting information from the pilot including the music from movies filmed on this island. He used more different angles during the flight over the main spots - for example Napali Coast so we could really enjoy the splendor of nature. Can highly recommend this company for a flight.

I booked for 3 people in my family. I was so concerned about the weather being good because the forecast didn’t look great. The day of our flight came and it was looking sunny however I was feeling under the weather. Our flight was scheduled for 11:30. The company called us to reschedule because they were having technical issues. I thought that would be good and hopefully I’d be feeling better the next day. Unfortunately I was feeling worse and the weather was super cloudy. I called them to let them know I was sick but my husband and daughter could still make it. They said I couldn’t get a refund unless I went to the ER and had a Dr write a note. Really? The Emergency Room? It would’ve cost more than the flight. I took a Covid test and it was positive so I chose not to risk infecting others and gave them plenty of notice. The weather never cleared but they flew anyway. my husband and daughter said it was beautiful but rainy and cloudy. They loved seeing views that you couldn’t see otherwise especially the waterfalls. Air Kauai was able to fill my seat so while they actually made money I was out the money AND the experience. I wouldn’t recommend them.

See Kauai from the air! Absolutely breathtaking! Our pilot was wonderful and knowledgeable of the island. Definitely a must to see Kauai from the air.

This was an amazing way to experience the island of Kauai! Everyone we dealt with was friendly and helpful. Our pilot was fantastic--besides being a great pilot, he was full of information, kind to the children of the family that was also on board with us, and gave us many suggestions of possibilities of where to go or what activities to do. I would definitely suggest going on this experience to those who visit the island.

Miss K knows a lot about Kaua'i and the Hawaiian culture and history, she was a fantastic guide during the whole tour.

The Waipoo Falls Hiking tour was outstanding.. great communication from start to finish. Our guide, Garrick, was outstanding and provided us with great information and a fantastic experience.

The tour was good. The tour guide was excellent! Less time shopping and more time at the sites to hike would make this an excellent tour. We did enjoy it and would recommend it, especially if you don't have transportation.

Marcus our pilot was awesome, great views! Highly recommend!

Marcus was out pilot- he was excellent. We had our toddlers with us and they didn't flinch on getting them and us comfortable with the little airvan (our first time). Great experience for all!!
