We participated as a couple. My wife was initially anxious about joining, but once we got into the enclosure, she found the sharks to be beautiful and realized they were a safe species that doesn't attack humans, so she enjoyed the unique experience.

Even though small fish were swimming nearby, the sharks showed no signs of wanting to eat them, which might have been a bit disappointing in terms of excitement. We both talked about wanting to see more dangerous sharks like great white sharks next time.

We brought a disposable underwater camera, but it was difficult to take pictures because of the waves. I wish we had bought a waterproof case for a digital camera so we could take a lot of pictures while looking at the screen.

The explanation before horseback riding was just a simple Japanese video, so I was honestly quite anxious, but once I got on the horse, all my worries disappeared.

I understood that I needed to follow the horse in front of me, so when the horse in front stopped, I stopped too. When it moved, I moved. All the horses were very smart and didn’t stray off course at all. They are really clever!

This time, in addition to the four of us, there were two Westerners participating individually, making a total of six people plus one guide for the two-hour course.

The guide only knew simple Japanese necessary for horseback riding, like “kick with both feet” and “pull,” so all the explanations about the movie filming along the way were in English. I thought that maybe Japanese people tend to sign up for half-day courses, as there were not many participants in the two-hour course.

At the end, we passed by another group of about 20 people, who were mostly Japanese. They had a Japanese guide. If you want to hear explanations in Japanese, this course might be better for you.

The scenery was absolutely amazing, and the two hours flew by! Many movies, including "Lost," "Jurassic Park," and "Godzilla," were filmed here, and we also passed the filming location for the remake of "Journey to the Center of the Earth," which is scheduled for release in 2012.

It’s quite far from Waikiki to Kualoa Ranch, but if I have the chance, I would love to join the two-hour course again!

ガイドさんは「両足蹴って」とか「引っ張って」とか乗馬に必要な簡単な日本語しかわからない方だったので、途中の映画撮影についての説明などはすべて英語です。日本人はほとんどの方が半日コースなどに申し込まれるからか、日本人の2時間コースの参加は少ないのかなと思いました。

最後、ほかのグループとすれ違いましたが、20名ぐらい？の大人数でほぼ日本人のようでした。こちらは日本人ガイドさんがいらっしゃいました。説明を日本語で聞きたいのならこちらのコースがいいのかもしれません。

景色はとっても最高で、あっという間の2時間でした！
ロスト、ロストワールドやゴジラのほかにもたくさんの映画が撮影され、2012年に公開予定の「travel to the center of the earth」？のリメイク？撮影場所も通ります。

ワイキキからクアロア牧場までかなり遠いけど、機会があればまた2時間コースに参加したいです♪

This was by far the best activity that we booked on Oahu. The scenery was gorgeous and the horses were well behaved. The two guides were very knowledgeable about the ranch and you run into some interesting leftover movie/TV sets throughout the valley that make for some great pictures!

We participated as a couple. It was my husband's wish to join, and we had a really great time! I definitely recommend the course that has the longest airtime and goes the highest!

It gets cold up there. Also, the belts are quite tight, so I recommend wearing clothing that has some length around the shoulders and thighs. I wore a short-sleeve T-shirt and a long-sleeve shirt, but I ended up with light marks on my arms. If you have long hair, make sure to bring a hair tie! My hair is about shoulder length, and since I forgot a hair tie, it got really tangled after the flight.

You can land on both feet on the grass. I noticed that a few men landed on their bottoms (including my husband), so it might depend on the weight distribution with the instructor.

The mention of "long wait times" seems to refer to the editing time for those who requested DVDs. Still, during our time, there were 10 participants and 5 DVDs, and we were able to return to Waikiki around 12:30.

芝生地に両足で立って着地させてもらえます。
見ていると男性はお尻からのかたが数人いたので（うちの夫も）、インストラクターさんへの加重にもよるのかもしれません。

「待ち時間が長い」とあるのは、ＤＶＤを申し込んだ方々の編集時間待ちのようです。
それでも私たちのときは参加者10人、ＤＶＤ5人で、12時半ごろにはワイキキに戻れました。

The worst thing about the trip was I had to go home. I did the 7 am tour and the staff was great. The boat was nice and clean everything was way above board. I bought the video and I watched as soon as I got back home on the mainland and I still cant believe the beautiful sharks and how many of them were in the waters it was not what I expected but thankful. If you are reading my post you better do this.. One of the best tours I went on while I was in Hawaii...My last comment I cant wait to do it again someday..

Late Entry perfect for our child!

We easily could have spent all day at the Polynesian Cultural Center, and definitely hope to go back and do so someday! But for our 6-year old daughter, that would have been far too much. She enjoyed the canoe ride, the tattoos, the leaf weaving, and the poi demonstration. She is still talking about the dinner. Us grown-ups also loved the experience. The luau and the after show were exceptional! Far better than a previous, more expensive and over-rated experience on Maui. I think that if you only do one tourist activity on Oahu, this should be it, including the show. The HA show is WELL worth the price!

We had a BALL with Henry (our tour guide) and ALL of the employees we came across was sooooo friendly, funny and quick with jokes! This is a MUST DO! in Hawaii and booking thru Hawaii activities was easy and they call to confirm my pick up time and gave all the details again. From the time we got on the bus it was laughter from Everyone! Polynesian CC was just way beyond our expectations - we could not get enough. By the end of the day we were pooped! If you really want to get your $$'s worth and see Hawaii for what it is...DO THIS TOUR! you will not regret it. (Then again who regret anything in Hawaii?) I say BIG THANKS! to Henry and Hawaii Activities!! Mahalo again!

Visiting the Poly. Cultural Center is a must do when visiting Ohau. This is a very enjoyable, educational and informative view of the Hawaiian Island. We had the VIP tour with a wonderful guide Wendy. Just when we thought it could not get any better we attended the theatrical show "Ha The Breath of Life" which was outstanding. What ever you do do not miss this.

Oahu North Shore Beach Horseback Riding Experience - Daytime Tours

My new husband and I booked a private ride with the Hawaii Polo Club while on our honeymoon. I've been on several other guided horseback trail rides in the past, but this was a little different. For one thing, the horses are actually polo-horses, not the standard "follow-the-leader" horses of a typical ranch. Because of this, you are better off if you have at least a little experience in handling horses. There were a few times that loud noises or unfamiliar things on the path caused some skittishness.

One thing that made me a little uncomfortable was that my activity voucher said we would need to sign a liability waiver before the ride. I assume this is a standard practice, but the staff at the club just saddled up our horses, and off we went. No forms, no waivers, they didnt even tell us their names, nor did they ask ours. Good thing (for them) our slightly skittish horses didnt dump us on our heads.

For the price I should not have expected to be taken to each destination I suppose, but I did. Still we had a good time and swimming in the waterfall was GREAT

great trip out to the Polynesian Cultural Center! very informative and fun at each village.. traveled with family with kids in mid 20s and we all enjoyed. Luau and night show (Ha) were both enjoyable! only problem is that you are on your own once you get there unless you want to pay more for a guide..didnt think you really needed one especially if you just follow the map in order you can see the whole park in a day!

My sister and I had lived on Oahu for 5 1/2 years in the 50s and returned for her 70th birthday. The PCC was not in existence when we lived there but I had visited it with my husband in the 70s. Since we didn't think we would travel to Hawaii again, sis and I decided to go "whole hog" and booked the Super Ambassador package for this outing and luau.

To say it was well worth the extra money is putting it mildly! We were treated like royalty from the minute we got off the bus.

Beke (from Mongolia) was our personal guide for the day and gave us each a beautiful shell lei which identified us all day as SAs. Beke couldn't have been more helpful - she carried any extras we had (umbrellas, sweaters - you name it), got us ponchos when it started to rain, dried off the seats we had to sit on for performances after it rained; if there was anything to be done, she did it and with the friendliest attitude we could have wished for. I always appreciate Alan1's service. This is my second visit to Kualoa Ranch. During my first visit, I participated in a package that included transportation and allowed me to choose four activities, but I felt that the one-hour horseback riding was not enough. So this time, I signed up for a two-hour horseback riding course. The two-hour option offers a different route and allows you to go further in with a buggy, so I was able to fully enjoy the experience. However, since there was no transportation provided, it was quite challenging to get there from Waikiki on my own. I took the bus from Ala Moana, which took quite a bit of time, and since there are not many buses, I ended up spending a lot of time on travel before and after. It felt wasteful. Especially on the way back, the bus did not pass by at the scheduled time, and I had to wait nearly an hour for the next bus after the previous one had just left. It was getting quite dark, and I became anxious about whether I would make it back to Waikiki safely. I wish there were an option to request transportation for those who do not rent a car, even if it is at a higher price. I would like to go horseback riding again if the opportunity arises, and I would be happy if a transportation-inclusive plan is available by then.

いつもalan1にお世話になっております。２度目のクアロア牧場です。１度目は４種目選択する送迎付きのものに参加しましたが、前回乗馬１時間が物足りなかったので今回乗馬だけ２時間コースを申し込みました。やはり２時間だとコースも違ってバギーで行く奥の方まで行けるので十分満喫できました。ただ、送迎がないのでワイキキから自力で行かなければならないのが大変でした。アラモアナからBUSに乗ってかなり時間を要したし、本数も少ないので前後の移動時間にかなり時間を割くことになったのがもったいなかったです。特に帰りがバス停を通過する時間が定刻でないのと、ちょうど前のBUSが行った後だったのか次のBUSを１時間弱待つことになり、辺りは真っ暗になってきて無事ワイキキまでたどり着けるのか気疲れしてしまいました。オプションでレンタカーで行かない人用に割高でも送迎を頼めるようになっているといいのにと思いました。また機会があれば乗馬に行きたいのでその頃には送迎付きプランも設定されていれば嬉しいです。

I wasn't scared even though I have a fear of heights.

It was fun coming down with a parachute while looking at the beautiful sea.

However, there is a lot of waiting time afterward, so if you're short on time, it might be better to go by rental car. I think I waited for about an hour and a half.

We gathered locally and took the bus. We went from the hotel to Ala Moana Center, transferred to bus number 52, and I made sure to tell the driver "Haleiwa Small Boat Harbor" to confirm where to get off, arriving just in time for our meeting. We waited quite a while for the bus at Ala Moana Center. There was only one other group of Japanese people besides us, and everyone else on the boat was foreign, making it quite international. As I saw on Alan Net, we were handed a file with notes written in Japanese, but all the explanations were in English. However, they demonstrated how to enter the water with gestures, so if you watch, you can manage. We moved out to sea for about 10 to 15 minutes, and the waves were quite rough. I get motion sickness easily, and even though I took motion sickness medicine, I still felt quite nauseous. We entered the cage four at a time. I was really looking forward to it, so even though I felt unwell, I stayed underwater longer than others, hoping to finally see a shark. Unfortunately, while there were a few small fish nearby, I only caught a glimpse of a small baby shark passing by far below, and I hardly saw any sharks at all, so I ended up getting a sticker and a refund... But the staff were very nice, so I definitely plan to try again next time. On the way back, we strolled around Haleiwa before heading home.

沖まで10分~15分位まで移動し、波も中々の揺れで、乗り物に弱い私は酔い止め飲んでも結構酔いました。
檻の中には4人づつ入りました。
楽しみにしていたので、具合悪い中でも念願のサメに会えると張り切って人より長く海にもぐってましたが、何匹か小魚は近くにいたものの、残念ながらサメはかなり深く遠くの下の方に小さく子サメ？が通り過ぎただけでほとんど見れず、ステッカーをもらって返金になりました・・・
でもスタッフの方々はとてもいい人たちだったので、また次回、絶対挑戦しようと思ってます。
帰りはハレイワを散策してから帰りました。

This was an awesome ride on the beach. And YES you DO ride on the beach. The area is beautiful and could see the whales playing in the ocean as we rode. The white sands of the beaches against the turquoise water was breathtaking.

I took the private ride and it is definitely not a standard trail ride. The polo horses were very well behaved and easy to ride. I recommend this to anyone who loves horses and has always wanted to ride on the beach in Hawaii.

Would definitely book this again when back on the island.

North Shore Winter Whale Watch Sailing (from Haleiwa)

We have never been whale watching before - we loved this first time experience! Captain Ryan and crew were great! They not only managed to help us see several whales (one baby just kept breaching - we have great pictures!) but we also were treated to turtles and spinner dolphins! When they lowered their microphone into the water and we heard the whales talking - it was just a huge bonus to a wonderful trip! We will definitely look them up if we get back to Oahu!!

Awesome experience! Nothing like it. Plenty of parking and in an awesome area, Haleiwa. The ride out to the cage was not long, before a short safety brief. Once in the cage, it's a unique feeling to know one of the oceans apex predetors are swimming around you. They get pretty close, and is well worth price of the tour. A definite must do if visiting the island!

I have been to the North Shore before and enjoyed this trip the most. We enjoyed the Waimia Falls park more due to the guides suggestions. he was very knowledgeable and interesting. I especially enjoyed the turtles. I would recommend it for the young and hardy or an old folk like me. Great fun!
