It was a little hard to get to (the hotels are so close together) so remember to get there early! We got there just in time. The boat is beautiful docked on the beach. The crew were so wonderful and friendly. We saw a bunch of turtles! It was amazing when they would surface for air RIGHT NEXT TO US! I wish the water was clearer, but it was still a great experience. Then we got to lounge in the boat and sail over off of Diamond Head. We saw spinner dolphins spinning out of the water. There were about 10 other people on the boat with us, but still cozy. They offer free snacks and you can purchase drinks (water, juice and alcohol) on the boat. We were back in time to join my family for lunch! perfect morning excursion at a great price!

I participated with my 6-year-old daughter. Of course, the trainer spoke English, so I was worried about my limited listening skills, but they kindly taught us using body language, which made it a lot of fun. It might be reassuring to have some basic swimming skills. The dolphins were truly adorable, and both my daughter and I were captivated. Although it was only 25 minutes, I think it was just the right amount of time for a 6-year-old in terms of physical stamina. The next day, my daughter seemed to have the best memories, as she didn't want to leave the dolphin lagoon at all.

The morning gathering was at 6 AM. You can easily recognize the bus with "Yellow Dolphin Middle School" written on it. They arrived on time for the pickup.

On the way to the port, we quickly arrived thanks to our guide Julie's entertaining rapid-fire talk. The driver was Frank.

The local staff member BJ was also bright and fun.

Fortunately, we encountered a pod of dolphins right away. Unfortunately, we didn't get to see any sea turtles swimming.

After that, we all enjoyed a hula lesson and received snacks and juice before returning to the port.

On the way back, we had spam onigiri and juice to eat while returning.

Both the outbound and return trips were smooth without getting caught in traffic, and the entire journey concluded seamlessly.

I participated on February 11, and it was a bit chilly, possibly because it was early in the morning and it had been raining until a couple of days prior. Everyone rented wetsuits for $10. I wore a long-sleeve rash guard and long pants, but I think I would have been cold without the wetsuit.

About 20 minutes after the boat departed, we encountered a pod of dolphins, and everyone jumped into the sea to help look for them. It felt more like watching them swim from a distance rather than swimming with them. We quickly found another pod of dolphins on the second encounter as well.

Unfortunately, during snorkeling, I didn't get to see any sea turtles swimming. I could only see a hand sticking out from behind a rock at the deep bottom. The hula lesson was also fun.

It was a really enjoyable experience that ended in no time. I participated with my family of four (children in 8th and 11th grades), but since it was a physically demanding activity, I think it might be difficult for small children or elderly people.

2／11に参加したのですが、朝が早いことと2、3日前まで雨が降っていた影響もあってか肌寒く、皆んな 10ドルでウェットスーツを借りていました。長袖、長ズボンのラッシュガードを着てましたが、ウェットスーツがなかったら寒かったと思います。
船が出航して20分くらいでイルカの群れと遭遇、みんなで一斉に海に飛び込み協力してイルカを探します。一緒にイルカと泳ぐというよりは、離れたところで泳いでるのを見るという感じでした。

シュノーケリングでは、残念ながらウミガメの泳いでいる姿は見れませんでした。深い底の岩の影から手だけが見えてました。
フラレッスンも楽しかったです。
すごく楽しくあっという間に終わりました。
家族4人（子供、中学2年と高校3年）で参加しましたが、体力のいるアクティビティなので小さなお子さんやお年寄りには無理かなと思いました。

I took the city bus to Aloha Tower Marketplace (the meeting place). Right next to Aloha Tower Marketplace, there is a boat docked, and the reception is right in front of it. The office opens at 8 AM, but since we arrived early, the reception wasn't open yet, which caused a bit of confusion. For those making their way to the meeting place on their own, I think using the boat next to Aloha Tower Marketplace as a landmark is a good idea.

As soon as we boarded the boat at 8 AM, there was a bit of time (about 45 minutes) before departure. We didn't eat, but you can have breakfast on board.

As for the whales, we were able to see them. When a whale is spotted, the staff will indicate the direction based on the time on the clock. You can see the direction they point to, or others will point as well, so we were able to see the whales multiple times.

However, whales dive quickly, and depending on the location, they can only be seen from a distance, so I recommend bringing a DSLR camera if you have one.

Even though I thought of whales as wild animals, my expectations were high! When a whale came close, it was so exciting. Finally seeing a whale was a dream come true! Thank you for showing up. There were some snacks available, but we were so focused on the whales. The sea conditions were calm that day, with clear skies and little wind, so the conditions were quite good. I think our family was lucky. The next day when we went to the beach, the waves were really strong, and it looked like getting on the boat would be even more difficult. After all, dealing with nature, the weather, sea conditions, and the appearance of the whales, I can only feel gratitude. I will never forget the whales that our whole family got to see.

Meeting up on-site was nerve-wracking, but when we found the boat at the port, I felt a sense of relief and excitement as if the tour had already begun. A Japanese staff member found our family, and we boarded safely. By the way, we were the only Japanese family there. The female staff member was very kind to us.

Since it was early in the morning, breakfast was included on the boat! There was a generous amount of food available. There were also various drinks. Japanese people tend to be reserved, but it felt like we should confidently go for the food and drinks. We enjoyed a hearty lunch as well. It was delicious.

What impressed me was the sunscreen! It was available in bottles for free use, and it was eco-friendly for the ocean and coral! That's quite rare. The atmosphere on the boat was fantastic, with music playing all the time. It was fun.

Snorkeling was the highlight, as we got to see fish and turtles in the clear water while playing with the kids. Moreover, while free diving, we could actually hear the sound of whales! It was clear! On the way back to the port, we encountered whales due to the season, making it a dream-like day.

ボートの雰囲気も最高で、常に音楽がかかってます。楽しいです。
そしてシュノーケルは、透明度の高い水中で魚亀を子供達と見て遊べて最高だった。さらに、素潜りしていたら、なんと‼️クジラの鳴き声が聞こえるんですよ。ハッキリと❗️港までの帰りは、時期的にクジラが出たりで
夢のような一日でした。

I didn't get to swim with them, but I did catch a glimpse of their backs swimming in the distance and saw one for a moment as it swam along the seabed. Unfortunately, I couldn't see any whales. The wind was strong, and it was chilly being outside for a long time. The ship was nice, and there weren't too many people, so that was a positive aspect.

About seven years ago, I participated in Dolphin University and liked it so much that I wanted to join again for this honeymoon, so I signed up. As expected... Dolphin University is the best!! As soon as we boarded, we were told, "There are dolphins!" We hurriedly prepared, and within 10 minutes of boarding, we met the dolphins!! That day, we got to try it twice, and my husband, who was visiting Hawaii for the first time, was super excited! Because we met the dolphins so quickly, we had plenty of time for snorkeling, and we were able to swim with a mother and baby sea turtle, which we couldn't see last time. We also got to experience surfing on a board together and played on the slide from the boat... it was a very satisfying half-day tour!! Additionally, there were snacks and juice on the boat, and on the way back, they provided cheeseburgers and juice♡ What I felt again this time, just like last time, is that not only can you swim with the dolphins, but the fun stories from all the staff and their enjoyment are what make the Dolphin University tour so great♡ I'm really glad I participated in Dolphin University!! 　7年ほど前にイルカ大学に参加させてもらい大変気に入ったため、今回のハネムーンでも是非参加したいと思い申込みました。やはり…イルカ大学は最高です!!乗船した途端「イルカ先生がいますよ」との事。急いで準備し、乗船10分でイルカに会えました!!その日は合計2度トライさせて頂き、ハワイが初めての旦那様も大興奮でした!イルカに早く会えたことからシュノーケリングの時間もたっぷりあり、前回は会えなかったウミガメの親子とも泳ぐことができました。サーフボードも2人で経験させてもらい、船からの滑り台で遊んで…と大満足の半日ﾂｱｰでした!!また、船の上でスナック菓子とジュース、帰りのバスではチーズバーガーとジュースの用意がありました♡今回改めて感じたことは、前回と同様に、イルカと一緒に泳げるだけでなく、スタッフ皆さんの楽しいお話やとっても楽しんでいる姿がイルカ大学のﾂｱｰの良さなんだということです♡イルカ大学に参加して本当に良かったです!!本当にありがとうございました!!

I saw whales. There were mostly large whales with spouts and tails, and I saw a pod of 2 to 3 whales about 4 to 5 times. I couldn't see the baby whales with the naked eye, but it was still a valuable experience.

With lunch included, I felt full both in my stomach and heart.

This was my first time participating! I heard that there’s almost a 100% chance of encountering dolphins, but it seemed like we struggled quite a bit this time and had a hard time finding them. Normally, we would have given up, but the instructor's passionate commitment to finding them helped us finally meet the dolphins. Even during the time we couldn’t see any dolphins, there was a lot of thoughtfulness, and it was really enjoyable! I’m not very good at swimming, but I felt quite reassured because they swam with me! The people I shared the experience with were also very cooperative, making it a wonderful memory. If I ever go to Hawaii again, I definitely want to do this!

初めての参加！
ほぼ、１００%に近い確率でイルカに出会えるということでしたが今回はかなりの苦戦だったようで中々出会えず。
本来であれば諦めるべきところだったんですがインストラクターの方の熱い気持ちで必死に探してくれ結果イルカに出会えることができました。
イルカに会えない時間も凄く気配りがありとても楽しかった！
泳ぎがあまり得意でなかったけど一緒に泳いでくれかなり安心できた！
一緒に乗り合わせた方たちも協力的でとてもいい思い出です。
また、ハワイに行くことがあれば絶対に行きたいです！

It was way too cold at the beginning of February.
While the cold isn't the crew's fault, it was freezing, and we were served ice-cold juice. Haha.

【Did I get to see dolphins?】
This was a bit disappointing!
I couldn't get close enough to swim with them.
It was more like a distance suitable for a cruising tour.
But since they are wild animals and there are laws, it can't be helped. The crew did their best, so I'll definitely try again!


【For those who will participate in the future】
In winter,
you should definitely bring Uniqlo's Ultra Light Down and disposable raincoats if you have them! (A shammy is super useful if you have one.)

Basically, everything gets wet because you put it on over a wet wetsuit. I found the shammy I brought to be incredibly useful! Once the bath towel gets wet, it's useless, so I wiped off as much water as possible with the shammy, then put on the bath towel, wore the 100 yen raincoat to block the wind and moisture, and then put on the Ultra Light Down, which was just right.

Out of 40 people, only 4.5 managed to swim happily without getting seasick until the end.
The rest were all throwing up, and only 4.5 people participated in all three dives.

Those with weak vestibular systems who can't swim will definitely get seasick since they can only float.

I personally have a weak vestibular system, but since I was constantly swimming, I wasn't affected by the swaying, so I managed to get through it.

This is an activity for those who are confident in their physical strength!

【イルカに会えたか】
ここがちょっと残念！
一緒に泳ぐほど近くにいけなかった。
クルージングのツアーでも良いくらいの距離。
でも、自然の生き物だし 法律もあるからしょうがない。 クルーもみんな頑張ってくれたからまたリベンジするね！

【これから参加する方へ】
冬であれば
・ユニクロの ウルトラライトダウンと使い捨てのカッパ、あれば絶対持っていくべき！ (セームがあれば超使える)

基本的に濡れたウエットスーツの上に羽織るので全て濡れます。 水泳で使うセームを持っていったらめちゃくちゃ重宝しました！！ バスタオルは濡れたら終わりなのでセームで水気をできるだけ拭き取ってから バスタオルをはおり、100均のカッパをはおり風と水気を遮ってから その上にウルトラライトダウンを着たのでちょうど良かった。


40人中、酔わないで最後まで元気に泳げたのは4.5人。
あとはみんな 吐いてたし、3回のダイブを全部参加したのはたった4.5人でした。

三半規管が弱くて 水泳ができない人は 浮いているしかないので 確実に酔います。

私自身は 三半規管は弱いですが 常に泳いでいたので揺れに左右されなかったのでクリアできました。


体力に自信のある人向けのアクティビティです！

My friend, who didn't get seasick, said they only saw the whale's tail. The staff were very accommodating, and the person in the hall showed us a video of the whale when it appeared on their phone! This time, I chose not to have breakfast, but the food looked delicious, and I was able to add it for $13 per person.

However, it seems that seeing whales breach is quite rare. Even so, just being able to see their dorsal fins and flippers up close was exciting! If you let your excitement take over and talk to the international guests, it can lead to great cultural exchanges! I did feel a bit seasick, but overall, I was very satisfied.

This is a whale watch worth signing up for. The Captain is an utter delight, and her crew were outstanding! The atmosphere on the boat (best looking one in the harbor) was relaxed and friendly. Instructions were given quickly, and we were off. We saw quite a few whales, with Captain & crew pointing them out. The food was a big surprise - it was excellent, and there was plenty of it. It was advertised as “appetizers”, but the chicken wings and ribs were so good, you could make a meal out of them. They also had quite an array of alcoholic beverages to offer. We’ve been on whale watch boat tours before, but this one was the best ever. My husband & I wholeheartedly recommend this tour. Our only complaint was that it wasn’t long enough, but that was because it was so enjoyable we didn’t want it to end.
