I participated exactly one year ago.
(I recently learned about the review feature, so I thought I'd write this.)
You can see a starry sky that you can't find in Japan.
The guide provided detailed explanations, and I was able to spot the Milky Way and other constellations.

Not only the starry sky, but the changes in the sky from sunset to the starry night are truly moving.

I think you don't need to bring warm clothing since you can borrow it from the tour company, but I recommend bringing something light to wear.

I participated on April 28. The sea of clouds viewed from 4,000 meters high felt mysterious and beautiful, like a lake. I was moved by the clear sunset, but I was captivated by the starry sky. I was impressed by the lovely Saturn and the large moon that I was shown through a telescope. Next time, I want to go during a different season. The miso soup with the meal was warm and delicious!

I participated in an activity on the afternoon of the day I flew from Japan to Hawaii, and then to Kauai. Since I was dealing with jet lag, a calm activity like this was just right for our first day in Hawaii with the kids.

It might have been nice to combine this with the "Hawaiian Traditional Feast Luau and Sacred Ceremony Imu! Smith Tropical Paradise Luau," which is located on the same grounds. Our family watched the luau on the last day in Kauai, but among those on the same boat, quite a few were planning to have dinner and see the luau show after this boat ride.

The Fern Grotto was beautiful, but everyone in the family got bitten by mosquitoes. I recommend applying insect repellent before participating.

日本からハワイへ、さらにカウアイ島へ飛んできたその日の午後に参加しました。時差ぼけの状態なので子どもも連れてのハワイ初日はこのぐらいの穏やかなアクティビティがちょうどよかったです。

THE DRIVER/GUIDE WAS KNOWLEDGEABLE AND KEPT US ENTERTAINING FOR THE MOST PARTS. HE GAVE US CLEAR INSTRUCTIONS AND WAS A GREAT ASSET TO HAVE IN THIS TOUR.

WE COULD HAVE SPENT MORE TIME ON THE ISLAND TOUR INSTEAD OF THE CULTURAL CENTER.

FINALLY THE NIGHT SHOW WAS WELL DONE. SUPRISED TO SEE HOW STUDENTS COULD PUT UP A PROFESSIONAL SHOW LIKE THIS. SOMETIMES I WONDER WHETHER THEY COME HERE TO STUDY FOR A CAREER OR ENTERTAIN THEMSELVES.

The starry sky stretched as far as the eye could see!!! The guide's explanations were enjoyable, engaging everyone in the group. It was a wonderful time where the guide's desire for us to have fun matched our desire to enjoy. The warm clothing provided was great, and I was grateful for the hot drinks prepared at the summit.

This is definitely a recommended tour if you visit the Big Island.

Since you won't see them if you don't go during this season, I went for the second time. The waves were a bit high, so they didn't appear for a while, but they finally showed themselves. They were a bit farther away than last time, but it was great to feel the size of the whales again. I recommend it for those who can go during the whale season.

This time, I was able to participate in the Mauna Kea Nature School, and I had a truly moving experience. The sunset from the summit of Mauna Kea was indeed breathtaking. It was truly moving to see stars that can only be viewed in the latest planetarium in such a realistic way. The stars visible change with the seasons, so I definitely want to repeat this experience.

Since it was mid-April, most tours had already ended. Just when I was about to give up, I came across this tour. I participated knowing that the chances of seeing whales were low, but I was able to see several of them. I even witnessed the moment when they dove straight down to the seabed. The other tour participants were also cheering. It was fun. I would like to participate again. Thank you very much.

I think the weather is just a matter of luck, but when I participated in the Mauna Kea summit tour on the Big Island of Hawaii, we were informed before departure that the weather might be bad and we might not be able to reach the summit, and they checked whether we wanted to participate or not, with some people choosing not to go. This year, I participated with my parents and children, spanning three generations. Since we had children with us, we decided to join the Honolulu for whale watching, as it seemed that the boat activities were not suitable for them yet. I had heard that the area where whales appear is beyond Hawaii Kai, but it seemed that the Honolulu mainly offered sightseeing, as the tour only went as far as providing a view of Waikiki. If you have the time and are mainly interested in sightseeing, it might be fine, but for those hoping for the kind of whale watching advertised, I think other activities would be better.

We participated as a family on April 2nd. Since there was no pickup at 8 AM, I was thinking of taking the trolley bus, but it seemed that it wasn't running yet. I heard that I could take the bus, so I waited for the 19 or 20 mentioned in the book, but since I didn't check the schedule, it took a while to arrive. I ended up taking a taxi in a hurry.

The office location was hard to find. I stayed under the Aloha Tower for a while, but since I needed to go to the restroom, I headed towards the large ship and found the office. They take a photo when you board, which costs $18. If the waves are calm, there's no worry about seasickness. You can see the whales' spouts and tails from a distance. They announced that you can only see the high jumps in winter. The kids got bored quickly.

アロハタワーの真下にしばらくいましたがトイレに行きたくなったので
大型船の方へ行くと事務所が見つかりました
乗る時に写真を撮ってくれます、18ドルします
波が穏やかであれば船酔いの心配はないです
鯨の潮吹きと尻尾が遠目で見ることが出来ます
ハイジャンプは冬にしか見れないとアナウンスしてました
子供達はすぐに飽きてしまいました
港に帰るまで心地よい潮風に打たれて気持ちよく寝れました（笑）
果物食べてる外人さんが数人いたので持ち込み出来ないことはないようですが…

A great way to see the island

This is a great way to see the island. The driver was very knowledgeable, and we visited some beautiful areas. We had about 15 min. at each stop, which was fine, except at the Dole plantation. Honestly, I dont know why they bother. In 15 min we had time to get our ice cream, and that was it. No time to browse the gift shop at all, or browse the grounds at all. Either allow more time at Dole, or skip it altogether. The driver could use a bell of some sort. We often had to wait for people who didnt return when they were supposed to. I dont know if those delays made much difference, we still got to the Polynesian Cultural Center around 1pm, which was plenty of time. The evening show after the luau was fantastic.

The boat rocked quite a bit. It was difficult to stand, so those who are prone to seasickness might find it a bit challenging. Eating was also difficult in those conditions. The whales didn't show themselves very often. After seeing them spout water a few times, we only caught a glimpse of their backs, but it was still moving. Onboard, there were plenty of fun activities like hula dancing, lei-making, and ukulele lessons. I made a lei to take home. I am grateful for such a valuable and fulfilling experience. I'm not a big fan of group activities, but since it's difficult to visit Mauna Kea on your own, I decided to sign up despite it being a bit pricey. To conclude, my two middle school children said it was the most fun they had during our eight-day trip. I also enjoyed it, but I couldn't fully rejoice because I had some concerns about the cost-performance ratio (laughs). However, I was able to enjoy many unique landscapes, so that was great!

I participated in late March, towards the end of the season. It seems that if you can't see any whales, you can get a reboarding ticket, but due to scheduling conflicts, I couldn't reboard, so I was worried about whether I would see any whales.

In the end, I was able to see whales up close. I had booked a meal-inclusive course, but if you see a whale, you should focus on watching the whale and interrupt your meal. There is plenty of time for dining.

I participated on March 22. Since it was near the end of the season, I was worried about not seeing any whales, but I thought it would be good to enjoy the cruising experience. While we were still on our way to the destination, we saw a spout at the back of the boat. There was no announcement at that time. After that, with the captain's announcement, we were able to see spouts and dark bodies multiple times. When the tail fin was visible, all the participants cheered. The wind was strong, but my whole family was satisfied. Thank you very much.

3月22日に参加しました。シーズンの終わりに近かったので、鯨が見れない不安もあったのですが、クルージングを楽しめれば良いと思い参加しました。まだ目的の場所に向かっている途中、船の後方に潮吹きが見れました。そのときは船内アナウンスもありませんでした。その後、船長のアナウンスとともに、何度も潮吹きや黒い体が見れました。尾びれが見えたときは、参加者がみんな歓声を上げていました。風は強かったのですが、家族全員満足しました。ありがとうございました。

I participated on March 24th. Since I tend to get seasick, I took motion sickness medication early, which may have helped, but I did feel a bit nauseous when the waves were rough. However, as soon as we spotted the whale, my seasickness disappeared. The sweet potato-like dish was delicious, and I even had seconds on the cookies. When the whale was spotted, there was a cheer from everyone.

Mario was an excellent bus/tour driver! I would definitely recommend getting a longer tour that allows for the USS Missouri tour. A Sunday tour was the best - least amount of traffic, which allowed for more time at Pearl Harbor. Mario also allowed us out of the bus to take pictures at the King Kamehameha statue.

The information hinted that there would be opportunitie to swim in a pool with a natural waterfall but this did not happen. There was way too much time spent on safety training! Maybe groups could be separated into beginner vs. experienced to avoid this waste of time on the tour?

Great Tour; Poor Tour Driver

We waited 45 mins. to be picked up at our pick-up location. The driver did not give any explanation or apologize for the delay. When we arrived at the entrance to the Arizona Memorial, he found it would be about 1 1/2 hours before we would be able to actually go to the Memorial. He debated about waiting that long and then suggested we go to the Missouri first. After debating back & forth about that, he finally decided to do that. As soon as he started driving to the Missouri, he expressed concern about getting back at the required time for our tickets for the Arizona. It certainly didn't make us feel very confident. As a result of all this, I believe we were shorted time at both locations. This was our first and probably only trip to Pearl Harbor. We really wanted to experience it in the order in which events occurred - The Arizona and then the Missouri.
