The sunset viewed from near the summit of Mauna Kea, followed by stargazing under a sky full of stars, was a fulfilling tour. After acclimatizing to the altitude at the visitor center, we drove up to the summit, where we were amazed by the sea of clouds below and the size of Mauna Loa. At the summit, after seeing various observatories from different countries, we enjoyed the main event: sunset viewing. We watched the setting sun from a quiet spot a little away from the crowded area filled with tourists. It was a magnificent sunset, even more grand than what we see from the ground. After that, we descended slightly for stargazing. The sky opened up 360 degrees, revealing the Milky Way, various constellations, Polaris, Saturn, and stars that are not visible from the ground, all clearly visible. The tour guide was perfect both on the way there and back, taking plenty of photos and ensuring we had a comfortable experience. If I have another opportunity, I would definitely like to use this service again.

マウナケア山頂付近から見る夕陽とその後の満天の星空観察は充実したツアーでした。
ビジターセンターで体を高地に慣らした後、車で山頂を目指すのですが、眼下に広がる雲海、そしてマウナロアの大きさに驚きます。山頂では各国の天文台を見た後に、本番の夕陽鑑賞です。たくさんの観光客がいる場所から少々離れた静かな場所で、沈みゆく夕陽を見ました。地上で見る以上の雄大な夕陽でした。その後、若干下った場所で星空観測。３６０度に広がる空に天の川をはじめ、様々な星座、北極星に土星など、地上では見えない星がはっきりと見えました。
ツアーガイドの方が行き帰りともに、パーフェクトなガイド、写真もたくさんとって頂き、快適に過ごさせて頂きました。
またの機会がありましたら、ぜひ利用させて頂きたいと思います。

I couldn't go on my own, and I didn't have much opportunity to study beforehand, so it was great to have a guided tour that was easy to understand. The guide was also very kind.

自力で行けないし、事前知識もあまり勉強できなかったのでガイド付きで分かり易くて良かったです。ガイドの方も大変親切でした。

It seems it rained in the morning, but when I rode, it was cloudy and neither too hot nor too cold, just perfect! I enjoyed it even more since I had prepared by watching Jurassic Park beforehand. The horses were all very well-behaved; they didn't flinch at all when the buggies passed by or when strong winds blew, and they were well-trained enough to stay calm even when close to each other, so I felt safe riding them! It was a pity that I couldn't catch everything because the English was too fluent, but the local guide, was it Koha? was really good at Japanese and even made jokes, which was entertaining!

ジュラシックパークの予習をしてからいったのでより楽しめました♪
馬はみんなお利口でバギーが近くを走っても強風が吹いても全く動じないし、馬間が近くても怒らないしよくトレーニングされていて安心して乗れました！英語が流暢すぎて聞き取れなかったのは残念でしたが、現地のガイドのコアさん？だったかな？は日本語凄くうまくてジョークも言っていて面白かったです♪

The wait time before starting horseback riding was just under two hours, and it was also just under two hours from the end of the ride until the bus departure. Honestly, I got tired of waiting.

What was great was the view of the sea and the scenery leading to the canyon during the ride! You can enjoy the magnificent landscape from the horse's perspective. The horses were well-trained and stable throughout the ride.

乗馬開始迄の待ち時間が2時間弱、乗馬が終わってからバス出発までも2時間弱・・。正直、待ち疲れてしまいました。
良かったのは、乗馬で海が見えてから渓谷迄の景色！馬からの目線で雄大な景観を楽しめます。馬はよく慣らされており、終始安定してました。

I was torn between the sunrise tour with a Japanese guide and the sunset tour with an English guide, but I chose the sunset tour. There were no other Japanese participants besides us, and although we are not fluent in English, the guide helped us by speaking in Japanese at times, which was very helpful. The hot cocoa during the cold was also comforting!

Since we participated on a day close to the full moon, I heard that more stars are usually visible. However, we were able to see plenty of stars!

日本語ガイドの日の出ツアーか英語ガイドの夕日ツアーかで迷ったのですが、こちらの夕日ツアーを選択しました。
自分達以外は日本人の参加者がいなくて、英語も堪能ではない自分達ですが、ガイドさんが伝わりやすいように所々、日本語で話してくれ助かりました。
寒いときのホットココアも安らぎましたよ！

満月に近い日の参加だったので、ホントはもっと星が見えるそうです。でも十分、星みれましたよー！

You absolutely must do this when you come to Hawaii! The scenery is so stunning that you might feel like you've stepped into a movie. It's a view you will never forget. The staff are all friendly and it's great. I want to do it again next time.

It was convenient since it is now reservation-based. I had just enough time to go hiking. The guide was also English-speaking and provided sightseeing information throughout the drive.

現在、予約制になっているので楽でした。
時間も余裕が少しあるくらいで登山できました。ガイドさんも英語でしたが、運転中もずっと観光案内してくれました。

Not only was the buggy experience enjoyable, but it also provided a fantastic time that felt extraordinary and reminiscent of a scene from a movie, something you wouldn't see in Japan. There are very few activities in Japan that allow for such a long experience, so I was very satisfied. The guide was friendly and casually took photos for us, engaging in conversation with us, even though our English was not very good. Thank you for the wonderful experience!

I went skydiving once in Australia and got hooked, so this time I went skydiving in Hawaii! I was able to enjoy the breathtaking views of the beautiful ocean and mountains, fully immersing myself in nature!! I felt like I wanted to jump again right after finishing! Haha! This is definitely the number one activity that everyone should experience at least once in their life!!

I had been curious about the ATV experience at Kualoa Ranch for a while. After reading various reviews from others mentioning the dust, I found that it wasn't as bad as I expected when I actually tried it. Of course, I wore goggles and the free scarf they provided...

(By the way, the weather was clear both the day before and the day of the experience.)

The guide was very entertaining and spoke at a slow enough pace that I could understand the explanations in English with some effort. I was glad to hear a lot about Kualoa Ranch.

The experience lasted long enough that my husband and I could take turns driving and still have plenty of fun. The vast landscape was stunning, and it was a unique experience that you can't have in Japan, which made me very satisfied! Next, I would like to try horseback riding.

以前から気になっていたクアロアランチのバギー体験。他の方の体験談をいろいろ拝見していると砂埃がすごいということでしたが実際体験してみるとそれほどでもなかったです。もちろんゴーグルと無料でもらえるスカーフをしてですが…

ガイドの方がとても面白くて説明の英語も頑張ればなんとか分かるくらいのゆっくりめのスピードで話してくれ、クアロアランチの話をたくさん聞けて良かった。

体験時間も十分にあったので夫婦で交代して運転しても充分楽しめます。とにかく広大な大地で景色も素晴らしく日本では味わえない体験ができたのが大満足でした！
次は乗馬体験をしてみたいです。

I really struggled with the decision to sign up. What if an accident happens...? However, as I read the reviews on this site, my anxiety faded, and I started to think that I would regret missing this opportunity, so I made a reservation.

On the day itself, to be honest, I didn't feel scared at all. I was just overwhelmed by the breathtaking scenery in front of me. The wind pressure was stronger than I expected, and I couldn't pose as instructed by the photographer, resulting in some embarrassing photos. But it was a once-in-a-lifetime memory. Looking at the shots that couldn't be captured by the instructor's camera, I felt it was worth having a photographer! I didn't experience the often-heard "it changed my perspective on life!" because it wasn't something I accomplished on my own. However, I did gain an emotional experience unlike anything I've had before!

申し込むまで本当に悩みました。もしも事故が起きたら…でも、このサイトの口コミ見ているうちに、不安が薄れて、この機会を逃したら後悔するって思い始め予約しました。
当日は正直怖さはなかったです。目の前に広がる景色に感動しかありませんでした。思った以上に風圧強く、カメラマンさんの指示通りポーズが出来ず、恥ずかしい写真もいっぱい。でも、一生に一度の思い出。インストラクターカメラでは撮影できないショットを見て、カメラマン付にして良かった！って思っています。よく聞く"人生観変わった！"というのは、私の場合はありませんでした。それは、自力で成し遂げたものではなかったからです。でも、今までに経験したことのない感動は得られました！

It might be good for off-road enthusiasts. It felt like driving through Japanese forest roads while visiting movie filming locations. Since I was at the back of the group, there was a lot of dust, but I was relieved to have a bandana as a mask.

The climb is fast paced if you want to reach the top in time for sunrise, not easy and you will be out of breath.

My husband, who loves stargazing, has always wanted to visit the Subaru Telescope, and that dream has come true. He was happily and contentedly watching from a spot where we could see the sunset and the Subaru Telescope. Seeing him like that made me happy as well. As for me, I love looking at the sky, and on this day, the combination of the sea of clouds, colorful clouds, and sunset created a wonderful scene. The orange sunset and the pink sunset were beautiful. The guide took photos frequently from the best spots.

Although the conditions for stargazing were not ideal, being the second day after a full moon, we were still able to see a sky full of stars, the Milky Way, and shooting stars, which made me very satisfied. They showed us Saturn through a telescope and provided a lecture on the stars using a laser pointer. The photo with the Milky Way was a first-time experience and became a memorable shot. Our guide, Shotaro, was very friendly and spoke Japanese well. Although he is not Japanese, he explained everything in both English and Japanese since half of the participants were Japanese. I felt really lucky! Understanding the language added depth to the experience.

The sandwiches and hot cocoa under the starry sky were delicious, making it truly the best experience.

星をみるのが好きな夫がずっと行きたかったすばる天文台。その夢が叶いました。夕日とすばる天文台が見える場所で嬉しそうに満足気にずっと見ていました。そんな夫をみてわたしも嬉しくなる時間を過ごすことができました。わたしはというと普段から空をみるのが大好きで、この日は雲海と彩雲と夕日とがセットで素晴らしい光景でした。オレンジの夕日にピンクの夕日。ガイドの方が最高のポイントでこまめに写真を撮ってくださいました。
また星空については満月になって2日目という悪条件でしたが、満天の星に天の川・流れ星もみることができて大満足です。天体望遠鏡で土星をみせてくださったりレーザーをあてて星のレクチャーもしてくださいました。なんといっても天の川と一緒の写真は初体験で記念になる1枚となりました。そんな至れり尽くせりのガイドさんは日本語が上手で気さくなショウタロウさん。日本人ではないのですが参加者の半数が日本人だったこともあり、車の中でも着いてからもすへて英語と日本語で説明してくださいました。本当にラッキー！言葉がわかったので体験に深みがでたと思います。
サンドイッチも星空でのホットココアもおいしくて、本当に最高の体験でした。

I had a two-hour horseback riding experience, but it actually lasted about an hour and a half. Before riding, I thought it might be long, but it was such a fun time that went by in a flash. The instructor, who spoke a little Japanese, stayed close by to guide us, which made me feel safe even as a beginner. I think I was able to have a unique experience while slowly progressing and enjoying the magnificent scenery. After the horseback riding, we had to wait nearly two hours for the departure of the return bus, which felt a bit like a waste of time... Since we had an early start, we passed the time by having an early lunch at the adjacent café. We participated as a couple in our 50s, and at that time, there were six of us in a group, riding in a line. I seemed to be the oldest, but I felt completely fine physically.

2時間の乗馬体験とありましたが、実際は1時間半ぐらいだったでしょうか、乗る前は長いかなぁ〜と思ってましたが、全然飽きないあっという間の楽しい時間でした。
少し日本語が話せるインストラクターの方がずっとそばに付いて先導、もしくは後ろに付いてくれて初めてでも安心して乗れました。とにかく雄大な景色を眺めながらゆっくりと進んでくれてなかなか出来ない体験を出来たと思います。乗馬が終わった後、帰りのバスの出発まで2時間近く待ちの時間があったのが、少しもったいない気もしますが・・
朝早くの出発でしたので、隣接してるカフェで早めのお昼ごはんを食べたりして時間を潰しました。50代夫婦での参加でした、その時は6人１組で、一列に並んでの乗馬でどうやら一番年長でしたが、体力的には全然余裕でした。

The sunset from an elevation of 4,000 meters, higher than Mount Fuji, was simply amazing. The beauty created by the clouds and the setting sun is something I will never forget.

Although the starry sky was slightly clouded and the conditions weren't perfect, I was still able to see countless stars and the Milky Way. This is a tour I would recommend everyone experience at least once in their lifetime.

また星空は少し雲がかかっており完璧とは言えないコンディションでしたが、それでも無数の星と天の川が見れました。一生に一度は行くことを勧めたいツアーです。

It was a style of riding where guests from all over the world lined up and rode slowly in a procession. I was the only Japanese person, but I didn't feel any language barrier when it came to horseback riding, so there were no issues with communication. Since it was a style that included beginners and first-timers, those who are intermediate or advanced might find it a bit lacking. At a viewpoint on a small hill where you can see the ocean, the staff will take photos for you.

世界中のゲストと一緒に、隊列を組んでゆっくりと並足で外乗するスタイルでした。日本人は私だけでしたが、乗馬に言葉の壁は感じることはなく言葉の問題はありませんでした。初心者、初めての方も一緒に行くスタイルなので、中級者以上は少し物足りないかもしれません。小高い丘から海を眺められるビュースポットでは、スタッフが写真を撮ってくれます。

I participated in a company trip. People aged from 8 to 57 all enjoyed and had a great time together! The instructor only spoke English, but they really got everyone excited. I had a very enjoyable time.

I was moved to be able to visit the summit of Mauna Kea, renowned as a sacred mountain. On the way, as soon as we arrived at the mountain, it started to rain, and there were moments when thick fog made it hard to see, which made me anxious about reaching the summit. However, in the end, I was able to see the sunset through a gap in the clouds.

I felt grateful to witness both the harshness and gentleness of nature.

I also want to thank our guide, who explained everything in Japanese using Google Translate, as I can hardly speak or understand English.

神聖な山として名高いマウナケア山頂に行けて感動しました。
道中は、山に着いた途端に雨が降り出し、途中濃霧で周りが見えなくなるなど山頂まで行けるかヒヤヒヤしましたが、最後は雲の隙間から日の入りを見ることができました。
自然の厳しさと優しさを見ることができたような気がして、感謝が溢れました。

英語がほとんど話せない&聞けない私に、Google翻訳を駆使して日本語で説明してくれたガイドさんにも感謝。

星はほとんど見れなかったけど、本当に行って良かったです。ありがとうございました！

On the day, it rained, and we rode on somewhat muddy mountain paths. The sun peeked out, and the view from the mountain top was great, which was very soothing. The horse I rode was smart, so it didn't act up, and it was a leisurely ride.

Beyond my expectations! Yama-Pee, our guide, was truly exceptional. With abundant knowledge and experience, along with great attention to detail, I had a wonderful once-in-a-lifetime experience, for which I am grateful. Watching the sunset from the summit of Haleakalā, exploring the impressively large crater, enjoying the magnificent starry sky, and observing Jupiter through a telescope—each of these moments was a treasured memory that will stay in my heart forever.

I really enjoyed having a bright and energetic female guide. As we walked, she explained various things about flowers and plants, making it a fulfilling experience. It was also fun to interact and spend time with people I met for the first time in a friendly atmosphere.

First of all, it was a lot of fun. The two hours flew by (including the explanations). The staff were friendly and entertained the participants with jokes. The explanations were fine since there was a Japanese video. Once we started running, there were some asphalt areas, but most of the route was unpaved, allowing us to run through nature, which felt great. There were also cows here and there, letting us enjoy the magnificent scenery. We stopped at several places for photo opportunities. It's a driving experience in a 4x4 that you can't have in Japan, and both the driver and passengers can enjoy it.

説明も日本語ビデオがあったので大丈夫です。走り出してからはアスファルトの所もありますが、ほとんどが整地されていなくて自然の中を走っていくのでとても気持ち良かったです。所々に牛などもいて壮大な自然を味わえます。何ヶ所か止まって写真撮影の時間があります。日本では味わえない四駆でのドライブ、ドライバーも同乗者も楽しめます。

This was a great hike. My husband and I aren’t expert hikers but found this to be enjoyable. The trail is very uneven but most trails are. Wear comfy shoes and take water to stay hydrated. It takes about an hour to get to the top and the views above Honolulu are amazing. We had time to take pictures and enjoy before heading back down. The driver of the shuttle was funny and made the trip even better.

If you go to Hawaii, you absolutely have to experience this! I highly recommend it! When it was over, my face was completely black, but that's also a good memory.

Our guide was from Hawaii, born on Maui, and has been living on the Big Island for two years. He was handsome, had a great voice, and was genuinely kind. The weather wasn’t ideal — it was cloudy, though we did see the sea of clouds and a bit of sunlight breaking through. It still felt magical watching the sunset above the clouds, even without a clear sky. Unfortunately, we couldn’t see any stars that night, probably due to the season (I went in late October). But the next day, on another tour, I did see a sky full of stars — so it’s still possible! Be prepared for altitude sickness; I felt lightheaded at the summit and was glad we descended soon after sunset. Overall, it was a good experience despite the bumpy mountain road — and it felt great to have “checked off” the highest mountain in the world (from base to peak).

It's a small attraction.

Skydiving was something I had always wanted to try. Since I wanted to do it, I decided to do it in the breathtaking scenery of Hawaii. There was a bit of a delay at the reception, but the staff were very kind and helpful. The instructor was humorous, and it was perfectly fine not to speak any English.

When it was time to jump, there was no hesitation; I was quickly falling out of the plane, regardless of my own will. I felt no fear at all; it was just amazing. After the parachute opened, we made several turns, which caused quite a bit of G-force and made me feel a bit nauseous. I felt a little sick for a while after landing.

Video and photo shooting is a must.

一度はやってみたかったスカイダイビング。
同じやるなら絶景のハワイで、ということでやってきました。
受付で手間取りましたがスタッフの方がとても親切に対応してくれました。
インストラクターの方もユーモアがあり英語が全くしゃべれなくても大丈夫です。
いざジャンプですが躊躇する間もなく自分の意志とは関係なく次々と飛行機から落ちていきます。まったく恐怖はなく、とにかくサイコーです。
パラシュートが開いてからですが何回か旋回をします。この時かなりＧがかかり酔います。
着地後しばらく気持ち悪かったです。
ビデオ＆写真撮影は必須です。

The local staff were entertaining and kind. There were also people who spoke Japanese on-site, which was reassuring. They provided detailed explanations about facilities like the restrooms, which was helpful for the women!

The thrilling buggy ride was, of course, an exciting experience, but you also get to see breathtaking views that take your breath away. With all the thrills, there are a few rules to follow. If you stick to those, I think you'll have a great time. No reckless behavior is allowed.

It's a popular activity, so I made a reservation a few months in advance! I'm glad I went.
