It was my first time participating, and it exceeded my expectations! My wife is very pleased and wants to join again next year. We were the only Japanese couple, but a foreigner in front of us spoke to us and took our picture with their phone. Thanks to them, we have a great memento. The sunset from the boat was the best memory.

The crab was really tasty. Overall, really liked this menu. There's also entertainment on-board. We really liked walking around the boat and the observation deck on the top floor of the boat was my favorite. There were lounge chairs on the top deck so it was the perfect place to catch sunset.

Tips:
-You can do menu substitutions (ex. vegan, fish instead of steak, etc.) if you request it 24-hours prior

The BEST dinner menu

Absolutely LOVED this dinner menu. We opted for the Friday Fireworks cruise with window seating. And it was worth it! I had done the other menus before (Buffet, Casual, & Deluxe) so I was looking forward to try out the fine dining menu.

The only not-so-great thing was the time it took for us to get any beverages. Our waiter passed us every time. We waited and waited - everyone else around us was being served. Finally, we flagged someone down but even they also took a long time so we had to flag a 2nd person.

The food was so delicious. Would definitely recommend the menu! This options also comes with premium drink tickets. We had mocktails which were delicious.

Absolutely LOVED this trip!! We did the 11am-3pm time block and it was perfect. The inside cabin was also air-conditioned. And, yes, the hot tub was perfect too!

We brought our own snacks and drinks since we knew it was a longer 4-hour trip. Snorkel equipment was included for those of us that wanted to snorkel.

The boat was HUGE (74ft!) so we had plenty of space. We brought our own smaller speaker which was great for lounging on the bow of the boat.

The sunset dinner cruise was quite crowded. Since I had reserved a 5-star experience, there wasn't much of a feeling of congestion when I arrived on the floor, and I was able to enjoy it at a leisurely pace. The meal also progressed slowly, so many people went out to the deck to enjoy themselves along the way. While sipping on a Mai Tai and gazing at the sunset... I realized the sky was filled with stars. Fireworks erupted from Waikiki Beach, and the atmosphere on the boat reached its peak! After that, we returned to port while indulging in jazz. It turned out to be a wonderful day.

Okay but way too busy and disappointing entertainment.

We booked this cor the sunset and fireworks. Seating was packed and food was okay / ordinary, what you would expect from set menu for hundreds. Staff worked hard, tried to keep things moving. Sunset was almost missed due to service. Noisy entertainment. Fireworks were short and low key, and hard to see with packed walkways. We were some what disappointed overall and regreted not going on a smaller and cheaper vessel.

My husband and I loved the BYOB Sunset Cruise. The crew was expert and helpful. They took pictures of couples and families if you asked and generally made everything fun and casual. I had never been on a catamaran before and I felt perfectly comfortable.It's a small craft, so you will get wet, but not soaking (unless you opt to ride on the webbing up front). Memories for a lifetime!

My Father and Mother-in-law asked me to plan their vow renewal ceremony while we were in Honolulu. They wanted to renew their vows on the beach, but with my father having Parkinson's, I knew it would be a difficult trek through the sand. While searching, I came across the Star of Honolulu. They had everything we were looking for. My Father could have use of his mobility scooter, as the boat had an elevator. The dinner and entertainment were good, and the ceremony performed by the captain was intimate. The captain made sure that my father was comfortable and safe during the ceremony and paid special attention to both of my parents. It was a special time and one we won't forget.

However, it was postponed due to COVID-19. Now that my son's job hunting is over, we went on a trip just the two of us! It was an amazing experience. Definitely 10/10 experience. It was my 2nd time doing it. This time I took my brother and his gf and hopefully next year I get to bring my parents. Food was delicious, staff was flexible and accommodating, views and vibe were great. I noticed the staff is so nice. They don’t rush you to finish your plate. They allow us to be moving/walking around in the boat throughout the whole time even if it makes it a little bit more challenging for them to be able to serve us. Non alcoholic beverages were great. If you like to drink alcohol you can just take a bottle and add your alcohol to their non alcoholic drinks. You won’t regret choosing this one!

I recommend this experience because you can enjoy a sunset while cruising easily. Beer and Mai Tais are all-you-can-drink. However, there were no snacks available. There is also a restroom on board.

On the same catamaran, depending on the company, you may not be able to sit on the net at the front, but with Holokai Catamaran, you can. However, if you sit on the net, you will get wet, so wearing a swimsuit and bringing a towel is essential. The kids especially enjoy it, but one child ended up shivering from being soaked at the end. If you don’t sit on the net or at the front, you won’t get wet.

Most of the staff do not speak Japanese. You need to fill out a consent form for everyone in advance online, but you can also do it at the reception on the day. However, it’s better to complete it online.

お手軽にクルージングしながらサンセットが見られるのでお勧めです。ビールやマイタイ等は飲み放題です。つまみになるスナック類等はありませんでした。トイレも付いてます。

ほとんど日本語は通じません。事前にネットで全員の同意書の記入が必要ですが当日受付でも出来ます。ただしネットで済ました方が良いです。

I had seen several boats from the beach beforehand, so I knew their size, but I was most concerned about getting seasick from the rocking. However, that worry was completely unfounded.

The boat moved swiftly, cutting through the waves, and while it bounced up and down, it felt more like an attraction than anything that would make me feel sick.

We ventured far out to search for dolphins (which, if you're lucky, can be seen from the boat), and with unlimited drinks like Mai Tais, we could enjoy our beverages while on board. The staff were very attentive, checking in when our drinks were running low and skillfully maneuvering the boat, providing a comfortable service.

We headed back to shore a bit early, and my husband and I remarked how it was still bright even though it was sunset. However, we stayed on the water until the sun had fully set and enjoyed a beautiful sunset. I joined the tour on the same day spontaneously, and I'm really glad I made the reservation. It became a wonderful memory before returning home!

結構早めに岸に向かったので夫とはサンセットなのにまだ明るいね…と話していたら、しっかり陽が傾くまで海上におり美しいサンセットを楽しめました。ツアーは急遽当日参加をしましたが、本当に予約して良かったです。
帰国前の素敵な記念になりました！

We considered a sunset cruise on a large ship, but choosing this one was the right decision. The sense of distance and immersion with the sea and scenery is completely different.

I ordered drinks at the bar in my broken English, but the staff girl was very pleasant and accommodating.

Just one thing to note: be careful with the restroom. You can't flush the paper, so make sure not to accidentally put it in the toilet.

The crew on the cruise were super fun and made sure to engage with everyone. The cocktails were fantastic and were served quickly. The food was good, a plate of appetizers was served to each guest, so not a choice if there was something you didn't care for or wanted more of. The sunset was spectacular!
