Terrific experience! Derek was a wonderful guide! Knowledgeable, friendly, and professional! Gave a preview of events, a timeline, and kept to the schedule.
The tour took us to places we probably wouldn't have gone to on our own. We saw turtles on the beautiful black sand beach, enjoyed a walk around the coffee farm with delicious samples. Spent time at Rainbow Falls. Enjoyed cookies at a local bakery. Plenty of opportunities along the way to pickup meaningful, local souvenirs.
But my favorite stops were in Volcano National Park. The caldera was amazing. No spouting lava but lots of smoking vents. The steam vents were amazing as well. Lunch at the cafe was well organized and tasty. The view from the restaurant was great. Beautiful vistas along the route. What more could you ask for???

We got to explore the upper slopes of Hualalai Volcano, exploring ancient craters and crawling through a lava tube!

The guides shared geology, Hawaiian history, and local plant life in a way that felt really genuine. The group was also small so it never felt rushed.

I participated because it was said that you could join without a license, but it was just a slow line of cars and not interesting at all. If that's the case, I'd much rather go to Yanbaru in Okinawa, which is a hundred times more fun.

I struggled with English, so there were parts I didn't understand, but I have already experienced the volcano as an option. This tour was great because I got to experience the world of ancient Hawaii, as well as Kona coffee and honey from the present-day Big Island.

A German owner who grew up in Japan is producing Baumkuchen on the Big Island of Hawaii and offers a hands-on experience. After guiding you through the farm, you can wrap the pre-prepared dough around bamboo skewers and bake it over a campfire, enjoying it hot and fresh. However, what you can make in this experience is not the Baumkuchen that Japanese people expect; it's more like a bread. Think of it as something similar to naan sprinkled with cinnamon powder. It would be great for those who enjoy conversations with the owner about why they are running this business in Hawaii, but please note that if you are expecting authentic Japanese-style Baumkuchen, it will be different. The owner can handle simple conversations in Japanese.

日本で育ったドイツ人オーナーさんが、いろいろあってハワイ島でバームクーヘンの生産をおこない、体験コースを提供してくれています。農園を案内してくれた後に、事前に準備してくれていた生地を竹の串に巻いて、焚き火を使って焼き上げ、出来上がりを熱々の状態で食することができます。ただ、この体験でできるものは、日本人が期待するバームクーヘンではなく、パンのようなものです。シナモンパウダーをふってあるナンのようなものと思って下さい。なぜハワイ島でこのような事業をしているのか、など、オーナーさんとの会話を楽しめる方には良いかと思いますが、本格的な日本風のバームクーヘンを期待していると違っているのでご注意下さい。オーナーさんは簡単な会話は日本語で対応してくれます。

I participated in the farm tour on Friday. I was able to hear Marcus's passionate thoughts about Baumkuchen, its history, and its connection to Japan, as well as learn about Marcus and Marie as individuals. I highly recommend joining the farm tour for this reason. I was worried about whether I could bake it well, but under Marie's guidance, the surface turned out crispy with cinnamon sugar, while the inside was moist and chewy. The homemade chocolate sauce and coffee were also very delicious, allowing me to enjoy a relaxed and fulfilling Hawaiian time. In fact, I arrived an hour early and was able to leisurely stroll around the spacious garden, feeling immersed in the everyday life of Hawaii. However, since the tour is basically in English, my wife, who is not very good at English, seemed disappointed that she couldn't join the conversations with Marcus and the other participants. According to Marcus, they have never held the farm tour in Japanese, but if all participants were Japanese, he would likely be willing to guide in Japanese if negotiated, as he is proficient in it!

金曜日にファームツアーから参加しました。マーカスさんのバームクーヘンに対する熱い想いや、バームクーヘンの歴史など日本との関わりを含めて聞くことができたり、マーカスさんとマリーさんの人となりを知ることができるので、是非ファームツアーから参加することをお勧めします。バームクーヘン作りはうまく焼けるか心配でしたが、マリーさんの手ほどきで、表面のシナモンシュガーがカリカリに、中はしっとりもっちりに焼き上がりました。自家製チョコソースやコーヒーもとても美味しく、のんびりと充実したハワイ時間を過ごすことができました。実は１時間も早く着いてしまったのですが、広いお庭でぶらぶらのんびりさせていただき、ハワイの日常に溶け込んだ気分を味わえました。
ただ基本的に英語のツアーなので、英語が苦手の妻はマーカス夫妻や他の参加者との会話に加われず残念そうでした。マーカスさんによるとファームツアーを日本語で開催したことはないとのことですが、もし参加者全員が日本人ならば日本語が上手なマーカスさんに交渉すれば日本語でも案内してくださるはずですよ？！

This hike adventure was awesome! The views at different stops along the way were just amazing. Our Guide Jon was great! He was a knowledgeable about so many things such as the local birds, plants and history of the area. Entering a lava tube that was hundreds of years old was interesting, and fun. Jon made sure our group remained safe and also had fun along the way. One has to experience this activity to really appreciate it! I would definitely recommend this activity.

Great experience. Our tour guide Grant is top notch. His knowledge on the everything the big island and particularly the volcanoes was impressive and he makes it so much fun. Highly recommend if never have explored the big island before.

The tour was very well organized and very well planned. I felt I saw so much and learned a lot about the culture and history of the island. Jim was full of interesting information and made the trip memorable Fun group.

Incredible tour but our Tour guide, Anson really brought the island and the tour to life. Honestly enjoyed the tour to the max but we would pay to just hang out with Anson again. Lol. I'm sure all the guides are great and extremely courteous.

All the jokes we made he would rebuttal and be involved all while still maintaining his poise and professionalism. It's the little things guys and this tour has it all. Thank you From the bottom of our hearts.

We had a lot of fun on the tour Ridge was amazing and gave us a lot of good local history and knowledge. If he didn't know the answer to a question he found it out for us. We'd highly recommend this tour to anybody looking for a great day on the island.

From local coffee to black sand beaches to wineries to lava flows to lava tunnels to a charming sunset, this tour is a entire day filled with memories. The guides were knowledgeable and so kind and accommodating, which we appreciate :)

Not only does it cover so many aspects of the island, you have an excellent guide the full time that makes you understand each area you are stopping at and the history!!

Jumped over to Bg Island for the day and this tour hit it all! Great experience

Our driver was mike and he was awesome! The bus was a luxury bus with limited passengers. Mike was funny and personable and treated us like royalty. Set us up for breakfast and lunch, provided snacks and drinks, cold cloths and hot cloths when needed. Made sure we all got our Portuguese donuts without having to wait in line. Just all around awesome! The back sand beach and the crater on the volcanoes were amazing as well as walking through the lava tube. I 100 percent recommend this tour to anyone

Really gives you the full island experience you would wish for while on Big Island!

If you are looking for a tour to give you a quick peak at some really fun spots with a ton of information this is the tour to take. Thia is phenomenal and gives you a ton of extra information like her favorite food spots, Beach spots, or any kind of recommendation you could be thinking of. She was so knowledgeable, engaging, and took extremely great care of our group. Couldn’t recommend it more!

This is a MUST do if you're going to the Big Island Hawaii. It was really a great way to see a lot of the islands best highlights. Even my husband loved it, who really doesn't like doing "tours" with groups / crowds and doing one ALL day long at that (likes his relaxation time on vacation). Our guide was fantastic, he gave us so much good information about the island, it's history, places, and everything in between. He was super attentive and made things fun as well. We would highly recommend this tour and specifically this company for a wonderful trip on the Big Island.

Mr Jim was a very knowledgeable and friendly tour guide! The tour was very organized at each stop and Mr. Jim was very accommodating to ensure we didn’t have to wait in long lines as well!! This tour is excellent. A great option for families and adventurous travelers looking to see it all in one day. From local coffee to black sand beaches to wineries to lava flows to lava tunnels to a charming sunset. The tour guys were knowledgeable and so kind and a accommodating. Shared their local stories and made sure all were comfortable. If you are looking to explore the island and don’t have a lot of time — this is the tour for you. If you want to see everything and get tips on where to go from some locals — this is the tour for you. Highly recommend 10/10.

This tour was perfectly laid out. We covered a lot of territory, but it all went smoothly. The tour included breakfast and lunch, which were both excellent. Loved seeing a coffee plantation, winery, Black San Beach with turtles, the volcano crater, and waterfalls. Our guide, Derek, was incredibly knowledgeable and provided excellent information throughout the day. I highly recommend this tour. I was traveling with a child, and she also enjoyed all our stops.

We will give 5 *****, The tour was amazing. Derrick did an awesome job in keeping us all informed with many details and of course quizzed us as well. It was a fun trip. Thanks for taking care of the special request on our food as well. Food wise- it was very well organized and catered. Breakfast and coffee at the coffee plantation was very apt. Wine tasting and Lunch was very well paired. Snacks and soda at the waterfalls was cool! Raincoats and umbrella was very helpful when it started raining while heading to the volcano view point. Superbly planned and catered to everyone’s needs. We will definitely recommend our friends and family.

The tour was not complete… the main atractive “volvcano park” was terrible… we was there less than 1:30… terrible !!

This tour was amazing and worth every penny! We decided to do the circle tour on our first island day as an introduction to the Big Island and we couldn’t be more happy about it. Our guide, Jim was so knowledgeable and had such a soothing voice, his storytelling and information were great. I would recommend this tour to anyone.
