The sea was very rough due to the front passing the day before. Despite that, we set sail. I was moved to see a manta ray, but I spent a long time in the water and my body got completely cold. When I got back on the boat, I was so cold that my stomach hurt, and my hands trembled for a while. It seems that the temperature in Hawaii in February is low as well. This was my first time participating. In the end, I didn't get to see any manta rays... However, this company offers a free tour next time if you don't see manta rays. I participated in this tour on the Big Island, but since the company also has a branch on Oahu, I signed up for a snorkeling tour to see turtles there, which was really free. They provided transportation to and from the hotel, which was very accommodating. The entire crew was energetic and kept the participants entertained from start to finish. During snorkeling, I was able to observe turtles right in front of me, explore the seabed while free diving, and play on a waterslide and trampoline on the water—such a satisfying experience! They also provided warm drinks, which was helpful. The pineapple was super delicious. Chanel from the Oahu branch, it became a wonderful memory of Hawaii! Thank you. After the New Year, my wife and I participated in a tour to see manta rays on the Big Island. We set sail from the harbor in Kona in the evening and watched the sunset over the ocean near the airport before entering the water for snorkeling. The light illuminated the dark underwater world, creating a very magical atmosphere as we eagerly waited for the manta rays, but unfortunately, none appeared. Even though we were wearing wetsuits, it was cold at night when we got out, and our fleece jackets were very helpful.

We were informed that if we didn't see any manta rays, we could try again for free, so we later joined a dolphin watching tour on Oahu, where we were able to see dolphins while snorkeling and swim with sea turtles, which was great. Additionally, we were surprised to see two humpback whales breaching multiple times! Next time, I definitely want to see manta rays.

夕方コナのハーバーを出航し、空港の沖で海に沈む夕日を見てからシュノーケリングで海に入りました。暗い水中をライトが照らしてとても幻想的で、ワクワクしながらマンタを待ったのですが、結局一匹も現れませんでした。ウエットスーツを着ていても、上がると夜は寒くてフリースの防寒着が役に立ちました。
一匹も見れなかった時は無料で再チャレンジできるとの事で、私達は後日オアフ島のイルカを見るツアーに参加し、シュノーケリングで!イルカを見たり海亀と泳いだりできたので良かったです。さらにザトウクジラ2匹のブリーチングを何度も見れてビックリ!
次回は是非マンタを見たいですね。

Two years ago, I participated in a tour swimming with dolphins on the Big Island of Hawaii and was moved by the many dolphins I saw. This time, I'm challenging myself with manta rays. There were four Japanese people, including myself (I participated alone), and about 15 foreigners in the mixed tour. The boat moves at an incredible speed. First, we enjoyed the sunset.

After that, we entered the sea where the mantas come. Then, we just floated and relaxed while waiting to encounter the mantas. After about 15 minutes of waiting, we encountered two small mantas. We then moved to another location and were able to see three large mantas as well. When I saw them, I couldn't help but exclaim, "Wow!"

Since the boat moves quite fast and you just float and wait in the water, I think it's safer to take motion sickness medication even if you're not prone to seasickness.

I asked a couple of questions via email, such as, "Can I participate alone?" and "I'm joining another tour in the morning; will I make it in time for the pickup?" The responses were smooth and good, which is why I gave this rating.

2年前のハワイ島でイルカと泳ぐツアーに参加して、たくさんのイルカを見て感動〜。今回はマンタに挑戦です。日本人は私を入れて4名（私は一人で参加しました）外国の方が15名ぐらいの混在ツアーでした。ボートは凄いスピードで進みます。先ずは夕日を堪能。
その後マンタが来る海へ入ります。
あとはマンタに出会うまでひたすら脱力して浮かんでる状態。マンタを待つこと15分ぐらいで2枚の小さなマンタに遭遇。その後場所を移動して、大きなマンタも3枚見ることができました。見た時は思わず凄ーいと言ってしまいました。
船はかなりのスピードで進むのと、海中ではただひたすら浮いて待つので、酔いやすくない人でも酔い止めはのんでおいたほうが安心だと思います。

「一人で参加できますか？」「午前中に別のツアーに参加していますが、ピックアップ時間は間に合いますか？」など２,３度メールで質問しましたが、対応もスムーズで良かったので、この評価にしました。

It was really great. Actually, I went dolphin watching on Oahu, but I didn't see any dolphins at that time. However, before going to see the mantas on this tour, I was able to see them from the boat. Plus, we also saw whales! The boat was going really fast, and it was a lot of fun. I took motion sickness medication, so I was fine with the boat ride. The mantas were incredibly large, and I was super excited to see them up close. My husband brought an underwater camera, so we were able to take great photos. I thought it would be cold in December, so I prepared thoroughly, but it wasn't as cold as I expected. It was so much fun!

凄く良かったです。実はオアフ島でドルフィンウォッチングに行ったのですが、その時イルカは見れなかったのに、このツアーでマンタを見に行く前に船の上から見る事ができました。しかもクジラも見れました!船もビュンビュン高速で楽しかったです。酔い止めを飲んで行ったので船酔いも大丈夫でした。マンタはすっごく大きくて、大接近で大興奮しました。旦那君が水中カメラを持参したので、バッチリ写真に収める事が出来ました。12月なので寒いと思い万全の対策で行きましたが、思った程は寒くなかったです。凄く楽しかったです。

Lovely time on a light board looking at Mantas. We saw three of these beautiful creatures and many other local fish. The underside of the ocean at night was amazing.

It is a bit chilly and the water can be choppy.
The mantas were not abundant or very close to us on the night we were out because of an anticipated swell the next day.

Great fun though and I will try again in the future.

Arms were aching outstretched hanging onto raft. Crew was not very friendly. Snacks were unavailable and drinking water not there. Had to ask for a cup of water 2 or 3 times.
Regretable experience. Let down.

I experienced night marine sports for the first time. On the first attempt, we went out from the bay to the open sea, but the waves were high, so we had to turn back. Since there was availability the next day, I made a reservation on the spot.

The second time, the weather was good, and we set out safely. I had heard it could be cold, so I paid an extra fee to wear a wetsuit, which kept me warm until we reached the boat's anchoring point. While the other foreigners were in regular swimsuits, I personally felt it was a good decision to rent one.

After arriving at the anchoring point, we got off the boat and floated in the sea while the instructor pulled a float (something like two surfboards connected) to a spot where we could see manta rays. After waiting for a while, a manta ray appeared right in front of us and showed us its acrobatic flips. Illuminated by the blue light used to attract plankton in the dark night sea, the manta ray was incredibly beautiful and refreshing to behold (perhaps because I'm a beginner in marine sports).

The starry sky on the return boat ride was also lovely. The only slight disappointment was that the hot chocolate was very delicious, but the portion was small, so I couldn't have a second serving. I will definitely participate again next time.

船の停泊ポイント到着後、船から降り海の中でプカプカ浮きながらマンタがよく見えそうなポイントまでイントラクターが浮き輪？（サーフボードを２つくっつけたもののようなモノ）を引っ張って移動。しばらく待っているとマンタがわれわれの目の前に登場し宙返りする姿を見せてくれました。暗い夜の海の中、プランクトンを集めるための青いライトに照らされるマンタはとても美しく心が洗われました。（マリンスポーツ初心者だからでしょうか）
帰りの船から見る星空も素敵でした。
ちょっと残念なのはホットチョコレートがとっても美味しいのですが、量がすくないためお代わりができなかったことですかね。
次回も参加させて頂きます。

On the morning of the same day, I went on a dolphin tour, but surprisingly, I couldn't encounter any dolphins (I did meet them during a revenge swim), which was nerve-wracking. However, I did get to see manta rays! They were flipping in the air at close range, and it was truly moving.

That said, the night sea is indeed cold, so warm clothing is necessary. I'm extremely sensitive to the cold, so I wore my own thin semi-dry suit and a borrowed wetsuit on top, which kept me comfortable throughout. However, many others looked quite cold.

The hot chocolate that our guide, Tamae, served as a complimentary treat was one of the best I've ever had in my life. I wonder how she makes it!

同日の朝にイルカツアーにいったらまさかのイルカ遭遇できずで（リベンジスイムで会えましたが）ドキドキでしたが、マンタには出会えました！至近距離で何匹も宙返りしてくれて感動ものでした。
ただ、やっぱり夜の海は寒いので防寒は必要です。自分は極度の寒がりなので自前の薄いセミドライスーツを着てその上に借りたウェットを着ていたので終始快適に過ごせましたが、寒そうな方が多かったです。

It's natural, so there's nothing we can do about it, but even though we floated for 40 to 50 minutes, we only got to see them for a few seconds. The guide, Sean, said, "Did you see them? There were two, right? That's great!" but the truth is, there wasn't even time to take a photo. Plus, they were small. Is there a season when you can see large mantas or multiple mantas? In any case, it didn't feel like we really saw them. I was disappointed because I had the image of the whale sharks I saw in the Philippines in mind.

We participated as a family. The manta rays appeared right away, but they were a bit far away, so I thought, "Well, this is how it goes." However, as time passed, more and more came—five in total! (I hear manta rays are counted one by one.) They approached with their mouths open, almost as if I could be swallowed! It was incredibly moving!

What I regret the most is not having photos from that moment. I really hope there are rental options available for use on the day. If you're participating, it's definitely better to bring your own! You’ll be able to take some amazing pictures.

The night sea is a bit scary, but I was able to see manta rays up close! They seemed smaller than I expected. I think it was along the coast near the airport. Mantas around Keauhou might be larger. However, it was a wonderful experience to see their bellies and mouths so clearly! The staff is friendly, but there is only one Japanese guide for the mixed tour with foreigners. Be careful after coming out of the water, as it gets cold! It's better to have a bath towel or something to wear.

At first, entering the water can be dark and a bit eerie. Mantas come in response to the lights. I think it's dangerous for people who aren't very accustomed to the sea, like dolphins. Mantas swim gracefully, so I recommend capturing videos.

It was great to get on the new boat, but I only saw one manta ray far away. Moreover, I couldn't see it because of the bubbles from the diver! I was unsure whether to go diving or snorkeling, and I regretted not diving in the end. I know that it's a living creature and nothing is guaranteed, but it was still a painful expense. I participated in a manta snorkeling tour for the first time. I'm not a strong swimmer and it was my first time snorkeling, but it was fine since I just held onto something like a kickboard and floated. The guide was very kind and supportive.

You can rent a bodysuit on-site for $10, and when I participated, everyone rented one. The boat ride to the manta viewing spot had quite a bit of waves, so I recommend motion sickness medication for those who are prone to seasickness. I took some beforehand as well. We were able to see a beautiful sunset from the boat on the way there.

As for the mantas, many of them gathered, and we were able to see them flipping in the water. The guide mentioned that sometimes you might not see any, so I felt lucky to see so many!

On the way back, the boat's lights were dimmed, and we returned while looking at the starry sky. They served us hot chocolate, but it gets cold, so I think it's a good idea to remember to bring a towel.

It was challenging, but I had a very valuable and wonderful experience, and I was extremely satisfied!

帰りは船内の照明を落として、星空を見ながら帰りました。ホットチョコレートを出していただきましたが、冷えるので、タオルの準備を忘れないほうが良いと思います。
ハードでしたが、とても貴重で素敵な経験ができ大満足でした！

Due to time constraints, we reached our destination before sunset, and since I was sitting on the right side of the boat, the instructor took some photos for me, but I was unable to see it directly, which was disappointing. The boat ride felt like a roller coaster, both fun and a bit uncomfortable. Finally, while trying to contain my excitement, we went into the water, but despite waiting, the manta rays did not appear. Instead, there were people stirring up the plankton with their feet. However, at the very end, I was able to see a manta ray doing a somersault. It was truly moving. Since it was introduced on TV, I had been looking forward to meeting the manta rays. I had some concerns about whether I could participate on the day of the tour because I heard from other tour guides that the boat was broken, but the boat they arranged for us was a hand-me-down from the navy? It was cool! (The boat, that is!). It's a shame I didn't take any pictures.

The weather was decent on the day, and we were able to enjoy the sunset over the sea. Since it gets cold at night, I rented a wetsuit for $10. That was the right choice. I was able to enjoy myself without feeling cold. The guide adjusted the snorkeling gear to fit each individual and provided a proper explanation on how to wear it.

I felt great floating in the sea while watching the fantastic manta rays and fish. The guide kept encouraging the other participants to raise their legs to attract the manta rays, and he quickly noticed when my husband started feeling unwell and took care of him.

Because we were scattering bait in the water, in the end, two manta rays took turns opening their mouths and spinning around. They performed a somersault right in front of the kids, which was very exciting. It was just like what we saw on TV! On the way back, I definitely felt the cold. I'm glad I brought a bath towel. 途中夫が気分が悪くなったのもいち早く気づいていただき、対処をしてくれました。
海に撒き餌（？！）をする形となったせいか、最後はマンタ２枚がかわるがわる口を開けて回転してくれました。
子供の目の前で宙返りを見せてくれたので大興奮でした。ほんとにテレビで見た通りだったね！と。
帰りのボートはさすがに寒さを感じました。バスタオルを持って行って良かったです。
ボートを降りてからの暖かいココアがとても美味しかったです。

This was my first trip to the Big Island of Hawaii, and I participated in the much-talked-about night manta ray tour. I chose this particular tour among several options because the price included a wetsuit and was relatively reasonable, the boat ride to the snorkeling point was short, and there was a 7-day guarantee in case we didn't encounter any manta rays.

On the day of the tour, I went to the office to check in and then traveled to the boarding point, which was about a 5-minute drive away. There, I was able to rent a wetsuit and snorkeling gear. My husband borrowed prescription goggles. We set sail during sunset and quickly arrived at the snorkeling point. Aside from us, everyone else on the tour was from abroad, with about 30 participants in total. The instructions were given only in English, but it wasn't a problem at all. The staff members were very friendly and made the experience enjoyable.

そんなシチュエーションのおかげで、半円の大きな虹が見えました。その上、二重に！ダブルレインボーになりました。
普通のサンセットクルーズより、波しぶきを浴びながら360度見渡せるこのクルージングだけでも、大満足❣️でした。

ポイントに着き、シュノーケル装着。主人に続いてドボンと飛び込むとーシュノーケルが外れるアクシデント。でも、スタッフさんが「焦らなくて大丈夫。つけてあげるから」と落ち着かせてくれました。
ポイントに行くと、驚くほど直ぐにマンタが(´⊙ω⊙`)。あー凄い！と喜んでいると、2匹のマンタが、海底より私たちに向かってローリングアップ。大きな口を開けてーーースレスレを旋回。口の中まで見えました。
ビビリの私には、強すぎる衝撃でした。でも、その都度、「マンタ来ますよー」「大丈夫ですよー」「力を抜いて浮いていてくださいねー」と的確に声をかけていただいて、落ち着いて、楽しむことができました。
海中のプランクトンー甲殻類の幼生等や、泳ぎ回るサカナ等、照明のお陰でキラキラしてよく見えました。本当に貴重な体験でした。

すべてに丁寧な対応で、船酔い気味の私に、クルーザーの運転手さんは炭酸水をくださいました。ウエットスーツ着てたけど、それでもとっても冷えました。帰着後に頂いた、スタッフさん手作りのホットチョコレートは、心も身体も温まりました。ハワイのとっても良い思いでになりました

Kona Manta Ray Snorkel & Night Dive Tour at Keauhou Bay - Sea Paradise

PLEASE READ, IT WILL HELP! Truthfully I was skeptical when the tour started, we were the last boat to the area and the last in the water and you could see everyone getting a little edgy seeing other groups experiencing the odd Manta whilst we were still on deck. The staff kept telling us to relax, it would be great. When we finally got in the water we waited a short while for the first Manta and it is exciting, however we didn’t know what was to come. Their plan worked a treat, the other boats all started to leave as they are
On strict timeframes (although we didn’t realise this with our heads down) and we were swarmed by Mantas. The crew counted 7, I thought there were more but perhaps that was my excitement. These giants come so close you can’t believe they don’t touch you belly to belly as they barrel roll. THIS IS AN UNBELIEVABLE EXPERIENCE. The crew are very careful not to damage the environment with their anchor placement and so respectful of the Mantas. I cannot recommend this experience or this operator enough.
