On the day of the tour, I went to the office to check in and then traveled to the boarding point, which was about a 5-minute drive away. There, I was able to rent a wetsuit and snorkeling gear. My husband borrowed prescription goggles. We set sail during sunset and quickly arrived at the snorkeling point. Aside from us, everyone else on the tour was from abroad, with about 30 participants in total. The instructions were given only in English, but it wasn't a problem at all. The staff members were very friendly and made the experience enjoyable.

The night ocean was incredibly mystical. Holding onto the floatation device and looking down, manta rays soon appeared. Since there was no shuttle service, we took an Uber to the dock for $20. When we signed up for the trip, it turned out that we were the only ones on the boat. It seems that the other participants, all from English-speaking countries, were on separate boats with their families. After visiting the blowhole, we went snorkeling at Captain Cook's Cove, where we saw a lot of tropical fish. After that, we went looking for dolphins and encountered a large pod of dolphins called Captain Whale, which were about 5 meters long! We observed the dolphins from the boat.

Since we went on a small boat, here are some points to consider:

Pros: The small boat can anchor close to the coral reef, allowing us to get near the fish areas without swimming too much. With fewer people, it feels more private.
Cons: There are only two seats with backrests. The other two seats are like benches on the side, so it feels scary unless you hold onto something to avoid being thrown around. There was only one staff member who acted as both the driver and the guide. The boat goes quite fast, so motion sickness medication is a must.

デメリット：背もたれのある座席は2席のみ。あとの2席は側面のベンチのような椅子に座るので、何かにつかまっていないと飛ばされそうで怖い。船のスタッフは運転手兼ガイドの1名のみ。かなりスピードを出すので酔い止めは必須。

PLEASE READ, IT WILL HELP! Truthfully I was skeptical when the tour started, we were the last boat to the area and the last in the water and you could see everyone getting a little edgy seeing other groups experiencing the odd Manta whilst we were still on deck. The staff kept telling us to relax, it would be great. When we finally got in the water we waited a short while for the first Manta and it is exciting, however we didn’t know what was to come. Their plan worked a treat, the other boats all started to leave as they are
On strict timeframes (although we didn’t realise this with our heads down) and we were swarmed by Mantas. The crew counted 7, I thought there were more but perhaps that was my excitement. These giants come so close you can’t believe they don’t touch you belly to belly as they barrel roll. THIS IS AN UNBELIEVABLE EXPERIENCE. The crew are very careful not to damage the environment with their anchor placement and so respectful of the Mantas. I cannot recommend this experience or this operator enough.

Wonderful time. Had Kevin and Andre as our guides. They were wonderful and knowledgeable about the area. We were in very good hands. I didn’t listen and left my Apple Watch on when cliff jumping and sure enough it came off. I was sad but it was really my own fault. Kevin took pity on me and was able to find it!! Absolutely above and beyond what I would have expected. Great excursion, lots of fish, fun facts. We felt safe and well looked after the whole time. 10/10 would recommend.

They spin around right in front of you, showing off their playful spirit. On the boat, there are light snacks available, such as drinks, fruits, and chips. It's all in English, but it's easy to understand and fun. If you're prone to seasickness, taking motion sickness medication is a must. Keauhou Bay is quite far, so it's fine for those staying at the Sheraton, but others will need to rent a car.

This was my second time participating. Although only English is spoken, they responded politely even with my broken language, which made me feel at ease. My 6-year-old and 8-year-old had a blast sliding down the slide on the boat and jumping off the diving board. The hamburger lunch, with burgers grilled on the boat, was also fantastic. I will definitely participate again when I go to Hawaii Island.

One of the highlights of our trip to the Big Island was jumping in the water after dark and watching these enormous, graceful creatures emerge from the blackness, do a few plankton-catching loops and then disappear back into the darkness. Can't recommend it enough!

It was a more authentic sea kayaking experience than I imagined, and the waves were quite large that day, making it a bit tough for my wife and our middle school son. However, personally, I enjoyed the tour as I was able to fully appreciate the nature of Hawaii Island. Also, be careful of getting sunburned.

We did get to see manta rays, which was impressive, but we only saw about six in 45 minutes, and the water wasn't very clear either. Since we did see the manta rays, I'll give it three stars.

By the way, the "noodle" refers to the stick-shaped float that is given before entering the water. Haha!

Our party of 7 had an absolutely fantastic adventure on our sea cave kayak and snorkeling trip. Devon, our guide, was really knowledgeable and very fun to be with. He was very helpful and made everyone feel very comfortable and at ease.

We had a great time kayaking (about 30 minutes out and 30 minutes back), swimming, snorkeling, and even jumping off of a cliff. The visit to the sea cave was also very neat.

We feel like we had 4 different excursions between the kayaking, cliff jumping, snorkeling and swimming, and the sea cave.

We would highly recommend this trip. It turned out to be one of the highlights of our 10 days in Kona.

That was such an amazing trip! Devon was awesome! We got to jump off a cliff, try a fresh Opihi, get some information about the island! Snorkel, and bond with our family. I had a lot of fun, but even though I arrived early at the meeting place, it seems there was an explanation in English, which I struggle with. As a result, I ended up boarding the boat late, and the only seats available were on the sunny second floor, but I managed to find a spot that was somewhat shaded from the sun.

Deluxe Captain Cook Snorkeling Tour at Kealakekua Bay - Fair Wind Cruises

It is hard to know which cruise to book--well this is the one I would go with each time! The crew were knowledgable and respectful! As we came into the bay, their were a pod of spinner dolphins; we kept a respectful distance but we all got to take photos. Then when we pulled into anchor and snorkel, they made sure we knew to keep our distance from where the dolphins were swimming, since the dolphins come to the bay to rest it is even more important for people to give them their space--so impressed with the crew.

The snorkeling was beautiful. The coral was amazing and at many different levels with sooo many different species of fish!! Fabulous!

We were the only Japanese people with an English guide. I communicated to our guide, Emi, in English that I didn't understand the language and needed support before boarding. Throughout the trip, she frequently checked in on our health and meal preferences, which made us feel at ease. It was unfortunate that there were guides in the Captain Cook area that I couldn't understand due to the language barrier. However, I was able to enjoy snorkeling at my own pace and had a meaningful experience seeing various fish and corals in two different locations. The meals were served buffet-style, and the hamburger patties were grilled live! The location and delicious aroma were fantastic, and the food was very tasty. Breakfast is provided, but since we gathered at 9 AM and arrived at the first point after departure, I felt a bit nauseous from hunger... In fact, one guest had to return to the port and disembark before heading to the second point due to feeling unwell after entering the water. It might be better for participants to have a little something in their stomachs beforehand.

My mother, who is not fond of water, stayed on the boat the whole time, but she seemed captivated and said, "If they lend out floatation devices in places like this, I think I’ll try going into the sea next time." Emi's voice was very pleasant, making the cruise enjoyable. Since we were staying at the Sheraton Kona, it was also great that we could walk to the meeting point.

My family and I greatly enjoyed this experience! Even my in laws who just stayed on the boat and watched from above enjoyed the view. These creatures are majestic and beautiful! We saw 8 rays and almost all of them got within a foot of me! I would recommend doing this activity for anyone just remember to take motion sickness meds as sometimes the water is choppy....

The manta rays really swirl right in front of you. You can almost touch them if you reach out, and they even bump into your underwater goggles or the camera you’re holding. It was an incredibly thrilling tour. The downside was the language barrier. My husband and I were the only Japanese people there, so we didn’t understand most of the explanations, but it was still manageable. Also, it was quite cold. The ocean at night gets chilly. The people around us didn’t seem to mind as much, so if you’re not sensitive to the cold, you should be fine.

While looking at the voucher at the hotel, I realized I had overlooked the part about confirming by phone at 4 PM. We were supposed to check in at a store in the shopping center at 6 PM and gather at the local port at 6:30 PM. We originally planned to have an early dinner near the shopping center, and since I wasn’t confident in my English skills, I went directly to the store before 4 PM, and they helped me with the check-in process then. For those staying at the Sheraton, you can depart from the port, which is just a short walk from the hotel, so you don’t need a car.

本当にマンタが目の前でぐるぐる回ります。手を伸ばせば触れるくらい、というか、水中メガネや手に持っていたカメラに、マンタからぶつかってくるくらいです。大迫力のツアーでした。難点は英語。日本人は私たち夫婦のみで、説明はほぼ分かりませんでしたが、それでも大丈夫、何とかなります。それと、結構寒いです。夜の海は冷えます。周りの人たちはそうでもなかったので、寒がりじゃなければ大丈夫でしょうか。ホテルでバウチャーを見ていると、16時に電話で確認というのを見落としていましたのに気付きました。18時にショッピングセンターにある店にチェックイン、18時半に現地の港に各自集合となっていましたが、元々ショッピングセンター近くで早めの夕食をとる予定で、電話は英語力に自信がなかったため、直接16時前に店に行き、その時にチェックイン手続きもしてくれました。シェラトンに宿泊している人は、ホテルから歩いてすぐの港から出発しますので車がなくても大丈夫です。

The entire tour was in English, but I managed to get by by observing the people around me. I was a bit nervous because it was more expensive than I had imagined, but once it started, it was so much fun!

Regarding the itinerary, we started with the zip line. Since there wasn't much time to change, it's best to participate in swimwear or clothes that can get wet. We moved on to lunch without a break. Then we went trekking and cave exploring. We ended up waist-deep in water, but this wasn't mentioned by Veltra, so we couldn't go further and had to give up. After that, we headed to the waterfall. The water was cold, but the foreigners were swimming vigorously.

There are no places or time to change during this itinerary, so if you want to participate, I think it's best to prepare accordingly from your hotel.

そのまま滝つぼに向かいます。
水は冷たくて、でも、外国のかたはガンガン泳いでました。

この行程ではどこにも着替えの場所や時間がないので、行きたい方はホテルからそれなりの
準備をして行った方がいいと思いますよ。

Its a great experience to go out in the Pacific. We were on a 2 people Kayak and made our way through the ocean while checking out Lava Tube caves, snorkeling and cliff jumping (30 ft).
