Alternative COVID-19 Testing Options & Locations

Since airline and airport testing is limited to specific cities, travelers will have the option to utilize other testing facilities in their towns and cities.

The one thing you will need to remember is that the test must be administered no more than 72 hours prior to your flight. Be sure to check with your testing provider that they will be able to provide you with results in time for your flight.

You will want to check with your state or city’s health department to find testing locations. Some examples for these health department websites include pages for California, Texas, and New York City.

Certain private companies such as CVS are also offering on-site rapid result testing. Call or look online to check for availability.

Pre-travel Testing vs Quarantine

Anyone planning to travel to Hawaii once the pre-travel testing program is launched has two options come October 15th.

The first option is to utilize one of the many available testing options. With proof of negative results for a test taken no more than 72 hours prior to the flight, you will be able to start your vacation in Hawaii without any fuss or muss.

If you choose to not get tested, you will still be required to complete the mandatory 14-day quarantine, but once that is complete, you will be free to explore the islands.
