Disappointed

Posted on: 2014/05/27

You get a quick instruction on how to get in and get out of the scooter, and they teach you important hand signals. I don't know how to swim and never been underwater so I was extremely nervous. But everyone gets their own instructor so if you're freaking out, they're right there to help you. These guys were nice and never push you past your own comfort zone. I actually freaked out going underwater so my instructor brought me back up for a minute, let me calm down and tried it again. I got to see fish and even a few sea turtles swim by it was awesome!

My main complaint is that the guy taking pictures didn't catch any of this. He didn't take pictures until AFTER the fish swam by. So majority of my pictures that I paid $45 for are just of me in the water with no fish in it. What a waste!!

Now this is a warning for those of you who get motion sickness: I took Dramamine an hour before going out to sea and let me tell you that didn't work. While waiting for other people to have their turn, the boat was moving like crazy and I got seasick. Two other people actually got sick as well.

Overall this was a fun activity and I like that they let you snorkel while waiting for others to have their turn. However, I don't recommend this activity if you are prone to motion sickness.

Tip: Bring your own underwater camera!

I expected more

Posted on: 2014/05/26

The instruction was quick and they send you off on your own on a very quick test course. Ive never rode ATVs before and was very nervous but after a while I got used to it. We rode in a line there were 6 of us total including in the guide. I was starting to get tired (it was 85 degrees out) and hands were feeling sore I kept wondering when we were going to stop for a break. We eventually did and the views were breathtaking. The guide let us take some pictures. I was expecting the guide to stop at certain locations and tell us which movies were filmed where, but he barely talked. He just said "Yeah 50 first dates was filmed on the other side of this mountain, so was Jurassic Park.." I already knew that before this "tour" so I didn't learn anything new :( Overall the ride was fun I just expected more.

Tip: They offer you shower caps before you put on the helmet and please do get it!! The helmets smell so bad.

Had a blast!!

Cousin Flo was our guide and she made the experience 10x better. She got everyone pumped up and ready for the luau. When we arrived, they took our picture (available for $15 at the end of the night) and we got our complimentary mai tai drink (alcohol/non alcohol). They gave us over an hour to wander off on our own and do activities. Ladies make sure you get a flower headband made!

Use your time wisely. Waiting in line to do an activity can take up to 15 minutes. We waited in line for another drink for about 20 minutes. Keep in mind while you're doing the activities they have you listen for the sound of the shell. You have to drop what youre doing and follow that person for a demonstration. Thats the only downfall i felt there was too much going on. It took away some time from taking pictures and soaking up the view.

The food was good and the show was amazing. The view is breathtaking especially at sunset. You're sitting outside right by the water. Its a great experience. Ive be

Very productive day

We got picked up by 6am by cousin Hana. When we reached Pearl Harbor, we were informed that you are not allowed to bring ANY bags past the entrance. You are allowed to bring wallet, camera and bottled water. You can store your bag for $3. We got about an hour to explore the museums and take pictures before we were admitted to the theater to watch a 23 minute video. From there, we were taken on a boat to go to the memorial. You get about 20 minutes at the memorial before heading back. Then you get another 20 minutes before it's time to go back on the bus. Side note: They do have a snack shop. Luckily, Hana was nice enough to let everyone bring back food on the bus.

It was 9:40am and time to explore the island. I loved every minute of it. Hana was very informative along the way and had a great sense of humor. We stopped for lunch at about 1pm. We made our way up to the north shore, back down the windward side and ending at Diamond Head before dropping everyone off at Waikiki. We made
