I had my two children take one-on-one lessons. Both the staff and surfers were friendly. My kids were able to stand up during the lesson and have developed a liking for surfing. I think the most challenging part of surfing is paddling, but the surfers pull you back out to the ocean after riding the waves, making it easier to focus solely on surfing. They don't help adults much with paddling, though! I will definitely use this service again when I go to Hawaii.

If you're going to Hawaii, surfing is a must. In fact, I had been taken surfing three times by a junior colleague from my company before, but I couldn't manage to take off and had given up. However, I decided to join this opportunity.

I participated alone, but the driver who picked me up and the receptionist explained everything in Japanese, which was a great help since I don't understand any English at all.

Finally, we headed to the ocean at Waikiki. I received a brief lecture in English on the beach and then we quickly went into the water. The surf point was quite far from the shore, and I paddled out, but at 50 years old, I found it pretty tiring. I couldn't help but say "very tired," and the instructor responded with a smile.

I faced the board towards the shore, waited for the waves, and the nice instructor timed it perfectly, telling me when to paddle and when to go, and I successfully took off. I was so worried about taking off, but I managed to do it from the first try, and it was incredibly fun and exhilarating.

One thing to note is that while it's fine to stand, there are many rocks, so I think I need to be careful as my feet ended up all scratched. However, the waves weren't too high, and with the instructor's good timing, I believe anyone can stand up.

Great lesson for my daughter

I bought a private lesson for my 13 year old daughter. It was her first time surfing as we are from Colorado. She had her own instructor who provided great instruction and having 1 on 1 instruction helped us both to feel safe. The lesson came with a tshirt and pictures of her lesson which I thought was a great deal. My only complaint was that the adults in the group lesson often got in front of her so she had to sit down to avoid hitting them. They go over this in the beginning of the overall lesson so I don't blame the school, just maybe a reminder in the water would have been helpful. Overall it was an amazing experience that I would highly recommend.

I filled out the participation documents, rented a rash guard and shoes, and received a video explanation of the precautions.

In the lesson, we first learn the basics of surfing through a slideshow. After that, we move to the beach for the actual lesson. All our belongings are stored in the office drawers. There are Japanese staff in the office, but communication during the beach lesson is primarily in English. However, they speak slowly, use body language, and even speak a little broken Japanese, so I think it's easy to understand.

For actual surfing, we use longboards, which provide a lot of stability. The instructor gives us instructions while pushing the board, allowing us beginners to stand up right from the start. We were able to catch waves multiple times after that. When I was able to ride properly, it felt amazing.

At the end, we rinsed off at the public shower on the beach and returned to the office. They also take photos during the surfing session. This time, we received them for free since there were two or more participants. They were provided on a CD. A person who participated alone purchased them for $10. ハワイ！海！サーフィン！ということで、口コミの良かったこちらを選択しました。直前の申し込みでしたが、無事参加できました。また、集合時間に遅れてしまうという失態がありましたが、Veltraスタッフさん及び、ハンズヒーデマンのスタッフさんの迅速寛大な対応で無事参加できたこと、本当にありがとうございました。レッスンでは初めにスライドショーで、サーフィンの基本について学びます。その後、ビーチに移動して実際のレッスンへ、という流れになっています。荷物はオフィスの引き出しに全部しまいます。オフィスには日本人スタッフもいますが、ビーチでのレッスンは基本英語でのコミュニケーションになります。ただ、ゆっくり話してくれたり、ボディーランゲージであったり、カタコトですが日本語も少し話してくれるので、十分理解できる内容になっていると思います。実際のサーフィンでは、ロングボードを使うので、安定感はかなりあります。インストラクターさんが指示を出してくれながら、ボードを押し出してくれるので、初心者の私たちでも初めから立つことができました。その後も何回も波に乗ることができました。ちゃんと乗れた時は最高に気持ち良いです。最後はビーチにある公共シャワーで体を流して、オフィスに戻りました。また、サーフィン中は写真撮影をしてくれます。今回は2名以上の参加で無料でもらえました。CDでの受け取りでした。1名で参加されていた方は＄10で購入してました。チップは1人あたり＄10〜20だったと思います。大変良くしてもらったのに、朝バタバタしてしまい現金の準備ができなかったために渡せなかったのが後悔です。他の方々はだいたい払っていました。次ハワイでサーフィンする時も是非またここに参加したいと思いました。

Three adults took a semi-private lesson, and a child (9 years old) took a private lesson. We brought vouchers for both the private and semi-private lessons, but it seemed like only the semi-private lesson was not reserved, so we ended up receiving a lesson on short notice.

All of us were beginners, but somehow we managed to ride the waves, and it felt amazing! I think for travelers, surfing at Waikiki Beach is the best option without having to go all the way to the North Shore. I’ll definitely do it again on my next trip to Hawaii!

For someone like me who doesn’t usually exercise, I’m sure I’ll be suffering from muscle soreness below my ribs.

Aside from the reservation issue, it was a very satisfying surfing experience. Highly recommended!

プライベートレッスンもセミプライベートレッスンもそれぞれバウチャーを持って行ったのですが、セミプライベートレッスンだけが予約されてない感じで、急遽対応してもらった感じでレッスンを受けました。

全員初心者だったのですが、なんだかんだ波乗りが出来てとても気持ちよかったです！ノースショアまで行かずとも、旅行客にはワイキキビーチで手軽にサーフィンがベストかと思います。次のハワイでもまたやります！

私みたいに普段運動をしてない人は、あばら下の筋肉痛で苦しむこと必死ですよ。

予約の不備を除けばとても満足できるサーフィン体験でした。
