It's been four years since my last visit to Hawaii. About 15 years ago, I also took a ride on a catamaran, and the view of Waikiki from the sea was just as wonderful as I remembered. A sea turtle even popped its head up, and I felt lucky.

If you're worried, it might be a good idea to bring a sports towel or a hooded rash guard.

More than that, the view of the ocean from the boat, the changing colors of the sea as we went further out, the flying fish jumping around, the blue sky, and above all, the fun atmosphere on the boat made for an incredibly enjoyable experience for both my daughter and me. It had been quite a while since I last rode a catamaran, so it was a nice change.

At this time of year, I think you don't have to worry too much about the weather, but since there was a hurricane, I wanted to see the beach as soon as we arrived in Hawaii, so I made a last-minute reservation.
It was fine to book the day before, and I received an immediate confirmation email. There were no issues with check-in on the day.

Boarding involved getting wet up to about my knees, and there’s a rule to shake off the sand from your sandals before getting on. The seating is first-come, first-served, but everyone was courteous and shared.

Once we set sail and headed out, we caught the wind. The front of the boat took quite a bit of spray, but that’s part of the fun of being on a catamaran.
While it was calm at the beach that day, there were significant waves offshore, and we glided over them.

前半はかなり激しいアクティビティでしたが、後半の帰りはダイアモンドヘッドやワイキキの街並みを眺めながら、穏やかなセイリング。
いい写真撮れました。

難点は開催場所。
昔の記憶でシェラトンの辺りに向かうとプールの辺りから通り抜けられず、駐車場の方から大回りしてたどり着きました。
カイマーケットか、プールあたりからはいけそうなんですが、シェラトンの宿泊者限定っぽい感じで。

Amazing stories, singing, food and interactive activities and seeing the dolphins and honu (turtles) swimming alongside our wa’a (waka/ boat) was magical! We were well looked after and thoroughly enjoyed the friendly and relaxed hospitality. Definitely recommend this to people who are looking for an authentic, educational and fun experience of Hawaii. Yes, it's early. But, we LOVED the early sail. Less boats on the water and calmer ocean conditions. If you're looking for a unique cultural experience, this is it. We did the morning cruise and were the only 2 guests on the boat which was really cool. The boat limits capacity to 6-guests. As a local resident, I really liked how the two main hosts of the cultural experience and the Captain were Kamehameha graduates. This boat also offers midday cruises and sunset. Overall, the morning sail was calm and one of the truly unique sails here on Oahu.

Boarding right in front of the hotel. The staff was very energetic. We were able to relax while enjoying the waves and drinks. I got a nice tan as well. I want to ride again.

We boarded the catamaran departing at 1 PM as a couple. People from various countries, including families with babies and elderly gentlemen, were on board. After taking an hour and a half to travel from Waikiki to near Diamond Head, we went west offshore until we could see Kaka'ako Waterfront Park before returning. The waves were quite high, causing some thrilling splashes, and the view from the sea was absolutely stunning! If you prefer not to get too wet, I recommend sitting towards the back. The male crew on the catamaran was very kind, always attentive to an elderly gentleman with mobility issues, and they helped him down the ladder slowly and safely at the end of the trip, which left a strong impression on me.

13時出発のカタマランに夫婦で乗船させて頂きました。赤ちゃん連れのファミリーから高齢のおじいちゃんまで色んな国の方々が乗船して１時間半かけてワイキキからダイヤモンドヘッド近くまで行った後、カカアコウォーターフロントパークが見えるくらいの沖合西へ行ってから戻るコースです。波が高いと結構揺れてスプラッシュも何度かありスリル満点で海から見る景色は最高です！あまり濡れたくない方は後ろ寄りに座るのがオススメ。カタマランの男性クルーがとても親切で、足の悪い高齢のおじいちゃんを常に気にかけてあげたり、最後下船する際も滑らないよう手を取ってゆっくりタラップ降りるフォローされていたのが印象的でした。

We were about ten people celebrating the wedding of one of the girls living in Hawaii. It was a great memory. The ship didn't sway much, so I wasn't worried about seasickness. Hawaiian beer is well chilled and costs around $4 to $5. You don't need marine shoes since you board barefoot. Be careful of sunburn. The boarding area is between the Sheraton and Halekulani. The girl at the reception doesn't speak Japanese, but she is friendly.
