I participated in a whale watching tour on March 4th. I was torn between a large cruise ship and a smaller one, but I decided to go with the smaller cruise ship, thinking it might get closer to the whales when we spotted them.

At the meeting point, there was no reception, and the staff who were on the returning cruise ship handled the check-in, which left me a bit confused about whether I was in the right place while waiting.

They did move a bit closer, getting within about 100 meters, and I was able to take great videos and photos with my smartphone's 2x zoom.

There were options not just for the five mountains, but also for morning, late morning, and early afternoon, allowing for flexibility in scheduling with other options and making effective use of my time.

やはり少しずつ移動をしてくれて100ｍ辺りまで近づいてくれスマホの2倍望遠でも十分動画、写真が取ることが出来ました

時間も五山だけで無く、朝・昼前・昼過ぎから選べるので他のオプションとのセッティングも出来時間を有効に使う事が出来ました

Since they are wild whales, I suppose it's understandable, but I could only see them spouting water from a distance and their tails. It was hard to tell whether they were whales or dolphins.

Awesome Turtle Canyon Snorkel Cruise!

My fiance and I had such a wonderful time on this cruise! It was our first time snorkeling, and we were a little nervous (for fellow first timers, the apparatus feels a little uncomfortable and claustrophobic on the boat, but feels so much better in the water)! However, the whole crew put us at ease and were super patient with us, helping us to get the perfect fit with our goggles and apparatus. Nicole even gave me one of her hair ties when I forgot mine! The lifeguards were great, helping us to find the best spots to watch turtles and fish, taught us a ton, and even dove down to get an octopus for us to pet. They were great about checking on everyone and making sure we were ok, comfortable, and having fun. The music and mai tais were excellent, and everyone was so friendly and sweet. They offered to take pictures without us even asking! This cruise is such an amazing deal for the price, and was for sure one of the highlights of our first trip to Oahu. My only advice is to be near Duke's at the Outrigger early, there is not super clear signage for where the boat comes in, so go to the bathroom and bring everything you might need so you have time to find the boat. Thanks for an amazing time!

The back of Prince Waikiki serves as the meeting place, and everyone gathers there at the scheduled time. The departure was on time as planned.

Inside the boat, music was playing, creating a great atmosphere. Drinks can be purchased at the bar counter on the first floor.

As for the whales, we couldn't see them up close, but we saw many, so I was very satisfied! The day I participated, the weather was cloudy, and the wind was very strong, making the waves quite rough, which caused some people to feel seasick. I think it's a good idea for those who are prone to motion sickness to bring some medication.

We took a snorkel trip with the Moana boat crew and had a fantastic experience. We set sail on the beautiful catamaran at 0830 and to head out see the sea turtles at the infamous 'shell-cleaning' reef which is located just outside the breakers off Waikiki beach. Our Capt for the day, Anthony, was personable, friendly and made us all feel welcome aboard the boat. Zack and Sarah were the other two crew members and they were friendly, professional, and very helpful throughout the entire trip. 100% would sail with this crew again. Bring some tip $ for them, because they definitely deserve it. Book a tour today!

The snorkel site is popular and several boats are in the area, which is nice because you don't feel like you're out in the middle of the ocean alone. It can get busy with everyone trying to see the turtles and fish so be sure to keep an eye on the surface as well as watching what is below. Some turtles even come over to our boat and I snapped a photo (attached to this review). Overall water depth is about 20-30 feet and even on a cloudy & murky day (like ours) we could easily see numerous fish and several large sea turtles. We were even lucky enough to see Humpback whales (mom & baby)!!

We booked our trip in mid/late Feb and it was overcast & rainy. A bit chilly at times, but come prepared and it's a fun trip regardless. Plenty of covered space to store dry items, but a "drybag" is a nice touch on any beach/water adventure.
We booked the 0830 trip to maximize sea life activity which also resulted in 2 families being on the boat....8 people total. Virtually a private tour! When we pulled back into the pier for the next tour there were about 20-25 people waiting for the next tour. And, parking at the marina is easier before the crowds arrive.

Since I was staying at Prince Waikiki, it was very convenient to depart from the harbor right in front of me. I was also very happy to board the boat from the lovely harbor that I could only admire. Both the first and second floors were fully booked! We happened to get a two-person seat on the right side of the second floor. It wasn't by choice; it was just luck. The sun was quite strong, so a hat and sunglasses were a must! However, the wind was also strong, so be careful not to let them fly away! Looking closely at the water, I could see flying fish sparkling! In the distance, there was Diamond Head! The scenery was amazing. Everyone pointed out the whales by saying "There it is!" so I was able to spot them. They were a bit far away, but it was fun to search for them together, shouting "There it is!" The announcements were in English, but they didn't say anything too complicated. It was important to listen carefully to the safety instructions. We were fortunate to have good seats, and whales often appeared on the right side of the boat.

It's significantly cheaper to book from there, but since we have small children, we specifically chose to book here because it offered Japanese narration. However, when we inquired on the day of the tour, we were told there was no Japanese available. In the end, we didn't understand the explanations well and couldn't enjoy it much. I'm really disappointed.

We were able to participate as a family. There was an initial explanation, but I could hardly understand it in English. Just before entering the water, I realized that wearing the rental life jackets was not optional for those diving; everyone had to wear one. It would be easier to understand if there were boards displaying information in multiple languages.

The snorkeling was fantastic, with clear weather and a wonderful encounter with a turtle. There were some waves as we headed out to sea, and I got a bit seasick. Participants should be cautious about that. However, even in that situation, I felt safe. The staff were kind and helped me recover quickly.

At the end, we took a commemorative photo with the staff. It was a great memory to be able to swim with the turtle as well.

Absolutely loved my excursion with this crew. Hands down the best snorkeling experience I had. There were 4 crew members and all were very nice and accommodating. They made us feel at home with drink service (juice, water, alcohol) as well as an awesome playlist. One of the guys, Justin (with long blonde hair) was in the water with us guiding us to where the turtles were. He even dove with my GoPro and got some epic footage. The trip all-in-all was about 90 min, which is perfect. I think a longer tour would have been too much personally. We spent a little over an hour in the water. HIGHLY recommend booking this trip. Thanks fellas! I had a blast

I experienced whale watching starting at 10:30. I set off without much expectation, hoping to enjoy the deep blue sea and sky. After encountering a group of dolphins, we came across several whales. For more than 10 minutes, they swam close by, and although they didn't jump high, they showed us their pectoral fins and tails. Everyone was incredibly excited by the amazing display. We were very lucky.

It's a shame I couldn't take good photos because I was so engrossed in watching!

There were staff who spoke Japanese, and it was very comfortable. The boat ride to the dive site was almost smooth and refreshing. There was plenty of time for diving, and we were able to see a sunken ship, sea turtles, and divers. There weren't that many fish, but I'm glad I went.

I booked the first session of the day.

I had heard experiences that it could be cold inside the submarine, so I brought a jacket. In the end, it wasn't as cold as I expected. If you're sensitive to cold, it's better to bring one just in case.

All the explanations were in English. I didn't understand much, but just looking at the underwater scenery was enjoyable, so I’ll take it as a positive.

There were a lot of fish, but I didn't see any sea turtles. They explained the types of fish and the ship and airplane wrecks on the seabed, but I didn't understand most of it. It might be more interesting if you research the sunken ships and types of fish in the waters around Waikiki beforehand. There were also a few divers, and when I waved to them from inside the submarine, they waved back and said, "Aloha!"

The boat ride from the pier to the submarine was quite windy, so a jacket is necessary for that part. (If you can't stand the cold, you can stay indoors...) The view of Waikiki Beach from the water was also enjoyable.

Before boarding, we took group photos, and on the return boat, they encouraged us to purchase the photos. Caught up in the excitement of seeing the underwater world, I bought them without asking the price (I think payment was credit card only?). Later, when I checked the receipt, it was about $48. After purchasing, I received instructions for downloading the photos, but when I tried to download them, it turned out it wasn't free and cost about $12 instead. ^^

潜水艦の中は寒いなどとの体験談がありましたので、上着を持っていきました。結果的には思ったほど寒くは無かったです。寒さに弱い人は持参したほうが安心です。

説明が全て英語でした。分からなかったですが、海の中は見ているだけで楽しいので、まぁ良しとします。

お魚がたくさんいて、ウミガメは見えませんでした。
お魚の種類や海底にある船とか飛行機の説明していましたがほとんどわかりませんでした。ワイキキの海底にある沈没船や魚の種類などを事前に調べておくともっと面白いかもしれません。
ダイバーも数人いて、潜水艦のなかから手をふったら「アロハ～」とサインしてくれました。

桟橋から、潜水艦までにいく船の上は風が強く、そちらの方で上着が必要です。（我慢できない寒さなら室内にいればいいですが、、）海上からワイキキビーチが一望でき、そちらも楽しいのです。

乗船前にグループ毎に写真をとり、帰りの船の上で写真購入を進められました。海の中をみた興奮もあり、値段も聞かず購入（支払いは、クレジットカードオンリーだったかな？）しました。後で明細みたら、48ドル位しました。購入後、写真ダウンロードの説明書をもらったので、ダウンロードしようと思ったら、無料ダウンロードではなく、12ドル位で購入でした^^;

I received a short message about the cancellation due to rough seas, and I was able to change it to the morning two days later over the phone. Since I spoke in English, I'm not sure if the change could be made in Japanese.

I downloaded the Japanese guide from the Atlantis Adventures website in advance and listened to it through Bluetooth headphones on my phone using Spotify.

There was a Japanese guidebook available for free at the ship's shop.

The weather was nice on the day of the trip, and I had a great time. On the way back, I saw a turtle. In the submarine, there were many fish, and I spotted a shark under the airplane.

Unfortunately the water was very choppy the day we went out and I experienced pretty bad seasickness the whole time. Unfortunately they did not have anti-nausea medicine like Dramamine on board. It was a very bad couple hours for me unfortunately.
