There is a regulation that prohibits approaching whales, so the boat does not get close to them. Therefore, it is not possible to take photos from a close distance like those on the explanation page. All announcements regarding whales are in English, so I do not recommend this for those who are not proficient in the language. Snacks and drinks are explained in English, so I couldn't figure out where they were located. Even with sunglasses and a hat, please be careful as the sunlight is very intense.

The conditions were windy with high waves, so it felt like an experience similar to Splash Mountain... I was able to see the whale's spray and tail, and on the way back, I was also able to see dolphins and honu, which was great. The purpose was to see whales, but they were hard to find. Even when I did spot them, I could only see their spouts and a bit of their backs from a distance. It's understandable since it's nature, but later I was able to see the spouts from the hotel balcony as well.

It was amazing to have a drink included, and we could freely take and eat snacks. Above all, we saw so many whales and dolphins! We were the only Japanese people on board, but on the contrary, all the other passengers were really lively, and it was a lot of fun.
We saw whales jumping with their calves and slapping their tails on the water's surface many times, and the guide even said, "This is the best whale watching ever," so we were very satisfied. Additionally, they delayed our return to the harbor so we could see the sunset without any obstructions, which was perfect.
If you're going to Hawaii during whale season, I definitely recommend this!
I also saw reviews about feeling seasick, but we were fine. Some people might need motion sickness medication, but it seems that those who are relatively strong don't have any issues.

Due to the high waves that started midway, there was no snack distribution. I had planned to go get a drink when the snacks were handed out, so I couldn't go. When I stopped by the bar counter upon disembarking, there were no staff present, and there were only a few snacks in a basket that people who noticed helped themselves to. The drinks were just a display of cans... If the distribution was canceled due to the high waves, I would have appreciated it if someone had been at the bar counter during disembarkation to hand them out. In the end, I wasn't able to receive the limited-time drink benefit. I noticed that some people didn't tip at all, so I wondered if that might have affected the service. Although I didn't see any whales, I had a great time seeing a lot of dolphins, which made the lack of service feel like a missed opportunity.

Since it was a tour involving nature, I thought I wouldn't know if I would see anything until it was over, but in the end, I had a wonderful experience. I understood that we couldn't get too close to the whales and would only be able to see them from a distance, but the whales came close to us, and I was able to see them up very close.

The weather was nice, and the wind was calm, so I didn't feel seasick at all. As soon as we headed out, we were able to see a mother and baby whale. Although the staff only spoke English, they were very service-oriented and moved us to another area to search for and show us another whale. I had hoped to enjoy the cruising even if we didn't see any whales, but it turned out to be the best whale watching experience!

I participated in a sunset cruise. Right after we set sail, we were lucky enough to spot a whale, but since the boat was large, we observed it from a bit of a distance. It might be good to have binoculars.
The cheerful captain explained various things, but everything was in English. I think those who understand English will enjoy it.
After observing the whales, we headed near Diamond Head. They took pictures of us with the mountain in the background. After that, we slowly returned to the harbor while watching the sunset. The sunset from the sea was breathtaking, and I was very moved.

I made a reservation for the sunset cruise, and I think the meeting place will be easy to find once you locate Prince Waikiki. When I went, there were also boats docked, which made it clear. I participated at the end of January, and it started to get cold on the boat, so a jacket is a must. I brought a sweatshirt, but it was still chilly.

I boarded the cruise that departed at 10:30. About 10 minutes after setting sail, while we could still see the streets of Waikiki, there was an English announcement saying, "Look towards 3 o'clock," and we spotted a whale's spout. We changed spots here and there to see whales… whales… whales… Mostly, we caught glimpses of parts of their bodies coming out of the water, and if we were lucky, we could also see the whale's tail.
At one point, there was an announcement saying, "There are dolphins!" and we were able to see a pod of dolphins as well! For almost the entire two hours, we were able to see something, which felt like a great deal. The view of Diamond Head from the sea was also beautiful!

またある地点では「いるかがいるよ！」というアナウンスがあり、イルカの群も見られました！
2時間のほとんどで何かしらを観ることができて、とってもお得でした。海からのダイヤモンドヘッドの眺めもまたいいです！
船はかなり揺れました。
同乗の大人1名が途中船酔いでダウンし、1歳の娘は吐きました…。吐いてもスタッフの方がペーパータオルやお水をくれたりといろいろとよくしてくださったのですが、船酔い対策はいろいろと万全に（直前の食事への留意、飲み物を持ち込む、着替え用意）されたほうがいいかと思いました。

On my way back to the mainland U.S. via Hawaii, I had a 14-hour wait for my flight. It was my first time in Hawaii, and I heard that this winter season is perfect for whale watching, so I joined a sunset tour. I participated alone, but I had a great time. The guide was entertaining (laughs).
It would have been even better if we could have gotten closer to the whales, but perhaps because the boat was larger than the smaller ones, we observed from a bit further away. This time, it might have been a bit early in the season, but we persevered and managed to catch a glimpse of a whale swimming just at the last moment. We were able to see a honu and what I think was a flying fish, and the sea breeze felt wonderful! That's what my partner said.

I was able to see a pod of dolphins swimming alongside us for a long time. The whales were quite elusive, but we managed to spot one in the distance after continuing to move the boat. It seems that there are significant differences in sightings depending on the day.
Along with sunscreen, motion sickness medication is essential. When heading out to search for whales, the waves can be quite rough, and it can be pretty scary until you get used to it. There were even children who fell inside the boat. The guide was speaking in English and kept cracking quite a few dad jokes. I recommend this for those who aren't afraid of the ocean's swaying!

When it comes to winter in Hawaii, whale watching is definitely a highlight! I participated in early February 2024.
I took an Uber from my hotel to the meeting point for the first morning tour. During this time of year, it can get a bit cool in the mornings and evenings, so having a light jacket was a good idea. Upon arriving at the meeting point right next to the Prince Hotel, I found many guests from the mainland USA already lined up. (It seemed there were few Asian guests.) After giving my name to a staff member in a PINK SAILS uniform, I completed the check-in process. Once the boat was ready, we were guided to board.
The interior of the boat is spacious, but seats at the front and on the upper deck are taken in the order of boarding. If you hesitate, you might miss out on a good seat, so I recommend getting in line early!
I was a bit anxious about seasickness, but the waves were calm on the day I participated. Since it was a catamaran, there was little rocking, and I could enjoy the pleasant sea breeze. We departed the harbor and moved a little off the coast of Waikiki. The boat stopped near Hilton's beach, and the whale watching began. Fortunately, during my tour, we spotted a mother and calf whale within just a few minutes, coming close enough to see them clearly. We maintained a respectful distance to avoid stressing the whales, allowing us to observe their fins and spouts for a while.
The onboard guide spoke entirely in English, providing detailed explanations about whale behavior, including parenting methods, as well as the direction of where to look for the whales. While good listening skills in English are necessary, there were many interesting stories that were very informative. The guide also indicated the direction of the whales (like 11 o'clock or 3 o'clock), and all the guests from the mainland were looking in the same direction. 朝一番の回、ホテルからUberで集合場所まで移動。この時期のハワイは朝晩少し涼しくなりますので、薄手の上着があって良かったです。プリンスホテル真横の集合場所に到着すると、既にたくさんの米国本土のお客様が並んでいました。（アジア系のゲストは少ない様子でした。）
PINK SAILSさんの制服を着たスタッフさんに名前を伝えればチェックイン完了です。船の準備が整ったところで乗船の案内をいただきました。
船内は広々していますが、前の席や上のデッキ等は乗船した順で取られていきます。遠慮していると良い席に座れなくなりますので、早めに列に並んでおくのがお勧めです。！
船酔いしないか少しヒヤヒヤしていましたが、私が参加した日は波も穏やか。カタマラン船なので船の揺れも少なく、気持ち良い潮風を感じることもできました。港を出発しワイキキ沖を少し進みます。ヒルトンのビーチが見える辺りで船が止まり、クジラ探しがスタート。私の参加回は強運なことに数分の創作でクジラの親子が見つかり、ギリギリ見えるくらいの距離まで接近してくれました。親子のストレスにならないようにボートとクジラの距離を保ちながら、しばらくクジラの背びれや潮吹きの様子を見ることができました。
船内のガイドは全て英語ですが、クジラの見える方向に加えて子育ての仕方などもクジラの生態も丁寧に説明してくれます。英語のリスニング力が必要ですが、興味深い話も多く、大変参考になりました。
またクジラが見える場所については、何時の方向（11時の方向、3時の方向等）で教えてくれますし、一緒に乗っているアメリカ本土のお客さんが全員同じ方向を向いてくれます。英語ガイドを聞き逃した人も、周りのお客さんに合わせて視線を向ければ、クジラの姿に気がつくはず…です！
なお、クジラの背中と海の色が似ているため、なかなか遠くからは見えづらい場合もあると思います。準備ができる方は望遠鏡などを持っていくとよく見えるかもしれません。
一通りクジラウォッチングを楽しんだ後、遠くにイルカの群れが現れてました。大きなジャンプこそなかったですが、鼻を出してくれたり、背びれを見せてくれたり、クジラに比べてアグレッシブでかわいいイルカたちも見られ感動でした。クジラだけでも大満足だったところに嬉しいサプライズ！横に乗っていた白人女性の方は嬉しさのあまり「Oh my god」と言い続け、小さなお子さんたちも大喜びの様子でした。
ビルが立ち並ぶワイキキ沖でこんなに貴重な野生動物が見られるなんて、ハワイの大自然は唯一無二ですね。
波の状況やクジラの気分によっては見られない日もあるようなので、自身の強運には驚きと感謝ばかり。

It was great to see the spouts and tails of two whales multiple times in the big rolling waves. The cruise ship kept following the whales, allowing us to see them several times. It would have been perfect to see them a bit closer, but the timing was just right. It was also nice to view Waikiki Beach and Diamond Head from the sea. The cost performance is good.

Since I was staying at Hawaiian Village, it was easy to find the location of Pink Sails in front of Prince Waikiki, about a 15-minute walk. We set sail at 8 AM, and during the two-hour trip, we were able to see the spouts from a distance several times. When we turned around, we encountered a whale swimming slowly parallel to our boat, and later, two more whales swam by. Finally, we saw one of them slowly sinking its tail as if to say goodbye. I think a smaller boat would have allowed us to see them even closer, but I felt very lucky. I bought motion sickness medication at ABC Mart and took it beforehand. The weather was cloudy with light rain starting partway through, but I was fortunate enough to spot whales three times, seeing their spouts, backs, and tails. It was an English tour, but whenever a whale appeared, someone would shout "Whale! Right?" so it wasn't a problem. I was at the very front of the boat and was thrilled to see turtles and dolphins swimming nearby. However, the boat was quite rocky, so I strongly recommend taking motion sickness medication. I also noticed some people feeling groggy inside the boat.
Additionally, it can be surprisingly cold on the water, so a jacket or a towel is essential. There is a directive to print out a waiver on paper, but it seemed that you could also read a QR code at the reception and respond that way. For those who are not confident in English, I think it would be fine to sign the printed paper and bring it along.

天候は曇りで途中から小雨が降るなど恵まれませんでしたが、クジラには気付いただけで3回、塩吹き、背中、尾びれまで見ることが出来ました。英語ツアーでしたがクジラがでるとどなたかがWhale！right などと叫ぶので問題なかったです。船の一番前で見ていたところ、カメやイルカが泳ぐのも身近に見れて大満足。ただし、かなり揺れがあったので酔い止めを飲まれることを強くおすすめします。船内でグロッキー状態の方も見かけました。
また海上は意外と寒いので上着やバスタオルなど羽織物も必須です。
なお、宣誓書を紙でプリントアウトしていくよう指示がありますが、当日受付でQRコードを読んで回答してもよいようでした。英語苦手な方は印刷した紙にサインしてお持ちになればよいかと思います。
