Really enjoyed this catamaran sunset sail. Curtis and Pono the crew were really accommodating and made all the difference in the experience. Sunset was perfect and they made sure all the best views were seen, and even acted as photographers when needed! Also liked that we were able to bring our own drinks, and that the boat had a cooler so our drinks didn’t go cold.

The view was absolutely beautiful. Upbeat background music was playing, and there was an all-you-can-drink option (including alcohol) along with some simple snacks. You can choose your seat in the order you lined up, but every seat offers a great view, and you can freely stand up or move around, so honestly, any seat is good. (For those who are afraid of seasickness, the back is the least bumpy.) If you're at the very front, you might get splashed by the waves! The sunset was stunning! Seeing the Waikiki beach hotels and Diamond Head from the ocean was also wonderful! The breeze felt nice! It was the best.

We took in the stunning views of the hotels along Waikiki Beach, Diamond Head, and the beautiful sunset sinking in the west. The captain and all the staff only spoke English, but they were very attentive with boarding, disembarking, and serving drinks. Mai Tai Katamaran is fully booked for reservations, so it's hard to get a spot once you're there. Moreover, I think this tour is very special because you can enjoy the fireworks. The departure time is after dinner, which gives you some leeway. First, we boarded the boat and toasted with Mai Tai. After that, we cruised and docked on the Hilton side. The boat stays in a position where you can see the fireworks from either side. If I had to say, the best position is the front right from the beach. At 8:00 PM, the fireworks started. For almost five minutes, you can enjoy the fireworks without anything obstructing your view. After the fireworks, we continued cruising along Waikiki Beach up to the Diamond Head area. It was a wonderful time. However, I noticed that other boats departing from Waikiki Beach had a higher ratio of foreigners, which created a more lively atmosphere, and I really liked that feeling of being abroad!

However, the issue was with the response of the boarding staff from the previous year. Perhaps because they assume Japanese people can't speak English, they didn't approach us at all. On the other hand, they actively engaged with groups from other countries (like the mainland United States and Australia), checking on drinks and snacks. My group consisted of returnee students, so there was no problem with communication in English. It's really disappointing that the quality of service changed due to stereotypes.

I have been interested in the boat that departs from the Sheraton, my regular accommodation, for a long time. I can't believe I can book it here! From what I've read about the experience, there are not many Japanese people on board. That was certainly true. There were only a few Japanese passengers during my trip. I couldn't understand the captain's talk, but I enjoyed chatting with a lady from New Zealand who sat next to me.

Also, I quickly changed the Mai Tai they handed out right after boarding to juice (since I can't have alcohol). The background music and the feeling of the wind were wonderful, and since we went quite far out, it was a graceful and lovely time. I even managed to communicate with the boys in a spot where the waves were quite rough, all with smiles (^^). I'm really glad I experienced this. I will definitely book it again next time!

my friends and i purchased the sunset booze cruise tickets and had a blast! cool crew, great views, perfect breeze, saw some marine life and got fabulous pics of diamond head and the waikiki-honolulu skyline. i highly recommend the experience. the waves can be rough so take some meds if you have a tendency to get sea sick.
