It was a short stay, but it became my best memory. The sunset, the night view, the expressions of Waikiki town, and the sight of the sun sinking on the horizon with buildings and many yachts were wonderful. Also, on this day, the wind was strong, and the waves were higher than usual for winter, but riding the music and the waves made it the best activity without feeling dizzy. I made a reservation as a reward for completing the Honolulu Marathon in December! I was worried about whether it would take place since it often rains during this time. When I arrived at the meeting point, there were a lot of people gathered. I thought it would be good to prepare the following: 1) a windbreaker or raincoat, 2) bottoms that I expected would get wet up to my knees, 3) personally, I wanted leg warmers that I wouldn't mind getting wet since my body would get cold in the second half, 4) I would take off my shoes, and 5) a plastic bag that I could carry diagonally over my shoulder to hold these items (there is storage available, but it might not be usable due to the large number of people). First, I showed my voucher at the nearby desk, then took off my sandals to enter the designated beach. Once the cruising started, the drink bar opened, and the staff served us. We moved to a point where we could enjoy the sunset, but during that time, they let us enjoy some surfing, so be careful of splashes and seasickness. By the way, motion sickness medication is sold at LAWSON in Sheraton Waikiki. After watching the sunset, we enjoyed the night view of Waikiki from the sea for a while. When we went, there were about half Japanese and half people from other countries. There were various people, some actively enjoying conversations and others quietly enjoying the scenery and drinks. 12月のホノルルマラソンを完走したご褒美に！と予約しました。この時期、雨がよく降るので決行されるか心配でした。集合場所に行くとたくさん人が集まっていました。用意した方が良いと思ったのは①ウィンドブレーカー又はレインコート、②膝下が濡れると想定されたボトムスを着用、③後半、とにかく身体が冷えるので個人的には濡れても良いレッグウォーマーが欲しくなりました④靴は脱ぎます。⑤これらを入れて肩から斜めがけできるビニール袋（収納場所もあるけど人数が多くて使えない事もあります）。先ずはバウチャーを付近のデスクに見せてから、サンダルを脱いで専用のビーチに入場します。クルージングが始まるとドリンクバーがオープンし、スタッフがサービスしてくれます。途中、サンセットを楽しめるポイントに移動するのですが、その際波乗りを楽しませてくれるので、水飛沫、船酔いには注意です。因みに酔い止め薬はシェラトンワイキキホテルのLAWSONでも販売しています。日が沈むのを見たら次は沖から見えるワイキキの夜景をしばらく楽しみます。私達が行った時は日本人とそれ以外の国の方と半々くらいでした。積極的に会話を楽しまれる方、寡黙に景色とお酒を楽しむ方、様々です。いずれにせよ体験して良かったの一言です！

It was much more fun than I had imagined!
Turning off the engine and moving with the power of the wind felt really nice.
It was enjoyable to sail through the blue sea before sunset and to see Diamond Head, and the sunset was, of course, beautiful.
The two staff members always kept the atmosphere lively, making it a fun experience throughout.

Points to note:
- Depending on where you sit, you might get splashed by the waves (if you don't sit at the edge, you won't get wet at all).
- Since it was December, it got cold after sunset, so having a jacket like a hoodie would be a good idea.

(1) "Reservation"
I made the reservation through the VELTRA website. There were no particular issues, and the application process was straightforward. Since there were 10 family members participating, I made the reservation as early as possible. I believe changes to the number of participants or cancellations were possible, so I recommend making an early reservation.

(2) "Check-in (on the day)"
We participated around late November. Since we were informed that the check-in time was at 4:30 PM, we made sure to arrive 15 minutes early. However, we had some time to spare before boarding (I can't remember the exact time, but it was around 4:45 PM or 5 PM), which made us feel a bit idle. The meeting point was a small beach near the Sheraton, and if the wait is long, it might get boring. This is my second time participating. I want to ride the Mai Tai Catamaran as many times as possible. When I rode it about five or six years ago, there were mostly foreigners and only us Japanese, but this time about half of the participants were Japanese... it's increasing! On the yacht, since drinks were unlimited, everyone ordered their beverages, and the crew cheerfully opened several bottles of champagne while lively music played… it felt just like a club atmosphere!

The sunset was also beautiful as the clouds lit up, and when the sun went down, the night view of the Waikiki hotels was stunning, so I recommend it for those who are not averse to being on a boat.

I mistakenly went to the catamaran booth and realized it just before departure, so I ran along the beach to get to the Sheraton. 私は、カタマランブースを間違えて、直前に気づきビーチを走って移動。
シェラトンHを目指しましたが、途中ビーチが寸断されていたので、ワイキキホテルの中に入って…迷子になってしまいました。
間に合わないといけないと思い、どこかのホテルのベルデスクの人に助けを求めると…
親切にもその方は、英語がわからない私と一緒に、かなり走って集合場所に連れて行って下さいました。
名前もホテル名も聞きそびれてしまったので…
お礼が言いたくて、下船後近くのホテルを訪ねて探しましたが、結局わかりませんでしたσ(^_^;)

I booked my first sailing experience on a trip to Hawaii after a long time!

Since Friday was our last day and my child loves fireworks, I chose the option that included fireworks viewing.

However, from the title, I thought we would be watching the sunset before the fireworks, but we gathered after the sun had set, so we couldn't see the sunset.

It might have been a seasonal issue, but if you want to see the sunset, it might be better to choose an option without fireworks viewing!

Almost all of us were Japanese, and while enjoying Mai Tais and chatting with people from various countries, we had a wonderfully fulfilling time swaying gently on the calm waves while watching the sunset! There was a gentleman from the mainland United States who mentioned it was his eighth time participating, and I completely understood his feelings. I highly recommend it!

For those who don't drink Mai Tais, there were also non-alcoholic drinks, white wine, and canned beer available, along with small snacks to enjoy while taking in the sway of the boat.

I participated because I could drink alcohol and the prices were cheaper than others. The drinks included Mai Tai cocktails and canned beer. We went quite far out and were able to see the sunset. The view of Waikiki and Diamond Head from the sea is amazing! Since it's all-you-can-drink, I could drink without hesitation. Next time, I want to join on a Friday.

I was quite worried about getting seasick before participating, but it turned out to be fine! Once we got out into the open sea, the wind picked up and it started to sway a bit. Whether or not you get seasick also depends on your physical condition, and I thought I might be tired from my last day in Hawaii, so I took some motion sickness medication beforehand. During the hour and a half cruise, I started by sitting down and had one Mai Tai. After finishing that, I moved away from my seat for a bit to take some photos and then had one more Mai Tai. Everyone was ordering more Mai Tais. There were also juices and Budweiser beer available.
