I had a great time experiencing parasailing for the first time! The boat ride was thrilling and enjoyable as well.

The instructions were mostly in English, and there was a staff member who spoke a little Japanese. They asked if I wanted to take photos, and when I chose to do so, they took pictures while I was parasailing. Afterward, I could view the photos and purchase them for $40. They are sent directly to your smartphone, so you won't receive printed copies.

I felt that the higher you go, the more it sways, which was a bit scary. Also, while moving by boat, you have to wait for others who are parasailing, so I wouldn't recommend it for those who are prone to motion sickness.

I thought it would just be riding a boat and paddling in the sea, but I was completely wrong!
We had six people in a narrow canoe that was about the width of our bodies.
We pushed the canoe out from Waikiki Beach into the ocean ourselves.
Then, we quickly boarded the canoe and paddled out to sea.
In sync with the leader's call, we went one-two.
When the leader said "switch," we changed our paddling from the right side to the left.
On our way out, surfers were waiting for waves.
As we passed by the surfers, we greeted them with a "Yeah!" and a shaka sign.
The cute local surfers in bikinis smiled and returned our "Aloha."

でも初めの15分は「お魚さんが手振ってるー」とか言って楽しんでいる様子でした。
家に帰ってからもそれをお風呂で再現したりしているので、きっと心に残った経験だったんだろうなと思っています！

我が家は国際結婚ファミリーで、海外在住なので英語は問題なかったのですが、ガイドが陽気な方で、ジョークをとばしたりうんちくを言ってくれるので、楽しめましたが英語が苦手な方は置いてけぼり感があるかもしれません。日本語オーディオがダウンロードできるとのことでしたが、ガイドが話していることとは必ずしも一致しないと思います。

総じて、子連れで楽しめるアクティビティだったと思います！

We went out to sea in a boat with a few groups and had a little boat riding experience, followed by parasailing in turns. We set up the parachute from the boat and took off from the moving boat. The initial date I had booked was canceled due to weather conditions. It wasn't raining, but it was probably quite windy. I received an email about the cancellation around 8:00 AM on the day of the event, so I recommend checking your email before heading to the location. If the event is canceled, you can choose to either get a refund or reschedule. I opted to reschedule. The process is completed on the Veltra website. Since bad weather is unavoidable, if you really want to go parasailing, it's a good idea to incorporate it into the earlier part of your Hawaii trip so that you can reschedule if it gets canceled. I appreciate that safety is prioritized.

It was my first time parasailing, and I was a bit scared, so I chose the 120m option. Even at 120m, it was high enough, and the view was beautiful, which made me very satisfied. The boat was small and quite fast, so it's better to take motion sickness medication beforehand. I filmed a video of my parasailing experience with a GoPro, and I'm glad I got some very immersive footage.

At one point, I was splashed into the sea and got a little wet, so it's better to wear a swimsuit. 初パラセーリングで怖さもあり、高さ120mを選びました。120mでも十分高く、景色もとても綺麗で満足しました。船は小型でかなりスピードが出ます。酔い止めは飲んでいった方がいいです。
GoProでパラセーリング中の動画を撮影しましたが、とても臨場感がある動画が撮れて良かったです。
途中、海にドボンされ、少し濡れるので水着で行った方がいいです。カメラやスマホを持ち込む際は念の為防水ケースなどに入れると良いと思います。
1月の参加ということもあり、少し肌寒く、ラッシュガードを羽織っての参加でちょうど良かったです。

The weather was a bit bad, with many clouds, but Diamond Head looked very beautiful. Also, it was a great experience to see the rainbow at such a beautiful moment! The explanations and reception were provided in Japanese and simple English.

We had a great experience parasailing. It was definitely a highlight of our trip. The crew was friendly, experienced, and we felt safe and well taken care of. Our group consisted of 2 adults and 4 teens (15 & 17 y/o). We were combined with one other family of 5.

Even the Rain Couldn’t Dampen Our Fun

Our driver was wonderful and funny. I appreciate that he called us to tell us he had arrived at the pick-up spot. We didn’t see the van pull up and he was parked behind us. The hike is demanding especially in the rain. It was quite slippery on the way down. We had already purchased ponchos, but our driver had some for sale. We were able to complete the hike easily within the timeframe, and had time to stop in the gift shop. Just be aware of the weather and plan accordingly. Good shoes are a must!
