Additionally, the views of Honolulu and Diamond Head from the sea were beautiful, and we had a wonderful time.

I made a reservation for the sunset cruise, and I think the meeting place will be easy to find once you locate Prince Waikiki. When I went, there were also boats docked, which made it clear. I recommend arriving a bit earlier than the meeting time to secure good seats. Being at the very front might give you the best view in the end.

I participated at the end of January, and it started to get cold on the boat, so a jacket is a must. I brought a sweatshirt, but it was still chilly.

The boat rocked quite a bit, but I took motion sickness medication beforehand, so I was fine.

We encountered whales relatively early on! Although they were at a distance, we saw them multiple times. One even jumped high, but I missed it… just saw the splash.

They make sure to show you the sunset, so the disbanding time might vary. In our case, we were about 30 minutes late. (Please be cautious when scheduling your next plans.)

By the way, it mentioned snacks, but we didn’t receive any…

I boarded the cruise that departed at 10:30. About 10 minutes after setting sail, while we could still see the streets of Waikiki, there was an English announcement saying, "Look towards 3 o'clock," and we spotted a whale's spout. 2時間のほとんどで何かしらを観ることができて、とってもお得でした。海からのダイヤモンドヘッドの眺めもまたいいです！

船はかなり揺れました。
同乗の大人1名が途中船酔いでダウンし、1歳の娘は吐きました…。吐いてもスタッフの方がペーパータオルやお水をくれたりといろいろとよくしてくださったのですが、船酔い対策はいろいろと万全に（直前の食事への留意、飲み物を持ち込む、着替え用意）されたほうがいいかと思いました。

On my way back to the mainland U.S. via Hawaii, I had a 14-hour wait for my flight. It was my first time in Hawaii, and I heard that this winter season is perfect for whale watching, so I joined a sunset tour. I participated alone, but I had a great time. The guide was entertaining (laughs).

It would have been even better if we could have gotten closer to the whales, but perhaps because the boat was larger than the smaller ones, we observed from a bit further away. Before boarding, I thought the cost of USD 80 per person was a bit high, but it turned out to be an incredibly satisfying experience. The night view of Waikiki from the boat, the Hilton fireworks, and the starry sky were all amazing. The boat rotates so that you can enjoy the view from either side.

I wore a light shirt over my swimsuit, but it got a bit cold towards the end. A fellow passenger sitting next to me offered me a bath towel to cover up. Overall, the atmosphere, including the crew, was very pleasant.

It was easy to get around since the boat departs from Waikiki. At the snorkeling point, there were turtles that we could see up close. The water off Waikiki was also very clear and beautiful.

Additionally, after snorkeling, we cruised around to the back of Diamond Head, which made it feel like more than just a snorkeling trip. The staff only spoke English, but they provided explanations in Japanese, so even those who are not good at English will be fine!

This time, it might have been a bit early in the season, but we persevered and managed to catch a glimpse of a whale swimming just at the last moment. We were able to see a honu and what I think was a flying fish, and the sea breeze felt wonderful! That's what my partner said.

I was feeling seasick and ended up lying down.

Two female crew members moved swiftly, raising the sails and stopping the engine for a refreshing sailing experience. Not only were their steering skills impressive, but their high level of entertainment and hospitality made the experience very enjoyable. When we got off the boat, it was around 6:30, just in time for dinner, so making a reservation at a restaurant near the Royal Hawaiian would allow you to avoid waiting. I recommend the American Chinese restaurant P.F. Chang's.
