Last March, I was able to see the sunrise from the summit. This year, I climbed to the summit around 8:30 AM on April 17, but isn't it impossible to see the sunrise from the summit in April? It was an early morning participation, but the weather was nice, and the driver was very lively and engaging. We returned on time and made it to the hotel breakfast. It was great. The sunrise from Diamond Head was amazing.

I was a bit anxious since it was an English-speaking driver. It seemed like the meeting point was different, and even after 10 minutes, the driver hadn't arrived. When I tried to contact them, the line was busy. Just when I was starting to think they might not come, the driver called my name loudly, and I was able to get on safely. During the ride, I couldn't understand the announcements at all, and since we were the only Japanese people, I felt a bit isolated, haha. We also received two bottles of mineral water for the round trip! Since it was just a plan to climb, I didn't feel rushed and was able to fully enjoy the scenery and nature. However, I later found out that taking the bus would have been significantly cheaper, which was a good lesson learned.

待ち合わせ場所が違っていたようで10分過ぎても来ず、連絡しても通話中。行けないかもと思っていたらドライバーさんが大きな声で名前を呼んでくれて無事に乗れました。移動中の案内は全くわからず翻訳機能も使えず私たちだけ日本人だったので少し疎外感笑。

The shuttle service had foreign staff, and everyone else on board besides us was also foreign. Therefore, the guide spoke entirely in English, and we were just along for the ride. Water is provided both on the way there and back. Since it was hot, light clothing seemed appropriate... but it depends on the weather.

Even the Rain Couldn’t Dampen Our Fun

Our driver was wonderful and funny. I appreciate that he called us to tell us he had arrived at the pick-up spot. We didn’t see the van pull up and he was parked behind us. The hike is demanding especially in the rain. It was quite slippery on the way down. We had already purchased ponchos, but our driver had some for sale. We were able to complete the hike easily within the timeframe, and had time to stop in the gift shop. Just be aware of the weather and plan accordingly. Good shoes are a must!

Its a stone throw away from honolulu waikiki, and you coukd have just walk there.

It was great! Pick up and drop off near hotel area, perfect. Sunrise hike to Diamond Head is a great way to start the day. You can go at your own pace. Views of sunrise and surrounding areas were beautiful! After the hike, driver dropped us off to Eggs N Things. Delicious!! After breakfast, driver picked us up and dropped us off near hotel.

During our visit to Hawaii, we decided to book a tour to Diamond Head for Sunrise Hiking. It was the best decision we made. It was lots of fun… the company we chose was great… easy pickup and return to your hotel area… people were super friendly and the breakfast part of it was a great option to choose… all good… the hike was awesome… be prepared though … water and light clothing… we went in August and it was very warm out even before sunrise. Excellent views… I would totally recommend this company for this event…!!!!! The views are amazing…!!!

My daughter also left her hat on the van and they got back to me super quick when I emailed them and we just picked it up from their office. Fantastic customer service.

My husband and I recently booked the tickets and shuttle to hike Diamond Head as I was reading how you had to have reservations to hike unless you are local. This is a change since the first time I hiked it when you didn’t have to make reservations. We also didn’t rent a car this visit, so the shuttle was perfect as it dropped us off and picked us up at a designated time. We were given tips on the way there as well as instructions how to make the hike more enjoyable. I highly recommend going with this company as you have three times to choose from to be picked up without the dynamics of reserving tickets or driving there or finding parking which is limited. The shuttle takes you as close to the trailhead as possible

booked this last minute when I learned you needed a ticket to enter diamond head and those offered by the national park system were sold out. I was very pleased with the ease of booking they were on time provided excellent direction on where to meet events if the morning. Highly recommend!
