I had a stomachache in the morning and informed them that I needed to go to the restroom, but I ended up being three minutes late to the meeting time. After that, I was subjected to snide remarks in the car.

If I were to hear such comments on my honeymoon, it would really ruin my mood. When I tried to give a tip that corresponded to the service, I was told, "I don't need it!" which left me feeling quite unpleasant.

I only handed over a tip for the service, but it seemed like there was a requirement to give at least $20 in the car. I was filled with the feeling of, "What? After making me feel this way?"

I think it could be fun if you get a good guide, but since this isn't a cheap tour, I would recommend avoiding tours where you might get lucky or unlucky.

Personally, I won't be using this service again.

Three weeks before departure, I smoothly completed the reservation on a Sunday in late June. On the day of the trip, the check-in and boarding went smoothly, and we headed to the destination with eight Japanese and three foreigners. While strolling south, we had Matsumoto Shave Ice, and although we waited about an hour for the Huli Huli Chicken, we successfully got it and had lunch with Camaron. At that point, with less than two hours remaining, we skipped local supermarkets and stores we wanted to visit, and ended up at Patagonia and Coffee Gallery just in time.

Tourists started to increase around noon. The travel time is about an hour, but it surprisingly goes by quickly. I had a great time and would love to go again.

We participated as a group of four. We arrived at Haleiwa in about an hour. We got off at the beach park and leisurely explored the shopping area. Along the way, we stopped by a local supermarket, checked out Matsumoto Shave Ice before it opened, and enjoyed the charming old town streets. There was a line at Giovanni's before it opened, but it moved quickly, and sharing between two people was perfect; the flavor truly lived up to its reputation as the original.

Due to road construction, we couldn't get off to take a photo of the sign, so we took pictures from inside the car. We saw the balance rock and were very lucky to spot a honu in the nearby sea. ✌️

One of the highlights of this tour was being able to hear various stories from our Japanese driver, including insights about culture and the economy. The five hours flew by. Mahalo!

I wanted to join the tour because I had never been to a coffee farm on other optional tours. I have also done a coffee farm tour on the Big Island. I simply love natural coffee, and there were many different flavored coffees. Although it wasn't my favorite coffee, I was glad to have the opportunity to visit. It was my first time exploring a farm. Before participating in the tour, I watched an introductory video and learned about the tour content, and I was able to walk right in the middle of the farm. This time, I was able to taste freshly cut pineapple right from the field. Hawaiian pineapple is delicious, but the pineapple I ate directly at the farm was even better! I was happy to receive a whole pineapple as a souvenir, but I was surprised that I couldn't bring it back to Japan. We were very satisfied after eating plenty of pies and loco moco. The tour driver shared various stories during the mini tour and provided guidance, which made it really enjoyable. Meeting the sea turtles was also the highlight!

I had been to Dole Plantation before, but I had never been inside the farm, so it was great to see the process from harvesting to packing. There seemed to be a lot of manual work from planting to harvesting, which looked tough, but the workers waved cheerfully at us when they saw us. The guide not only taught us various things but also made a great effort to ensure we had fun, allowing us to enjoy the day. While it's nice to enjoy the maze and train at Dole Plantation, I think the farm tour across the street gave us a better sense of Hawaii.

The Dole Plantation tour was great, allowing us to efficiently visit Haleiwa. I loved this tour. The bus took us around the island, visiting ALL the hot spots. It can feel a bit rushed but lots of places to go. I think it’s suitable as a first day of your trip activity. Our guide Kanamu was amazing, I loved all the local histories and traditions she told us along the way. The highlight of the trip is definitely Waimea Falls. We spent 1.5 hours here, I personally highly suggest not to go swim in the waterfall because that would become the whole focus of this place. It’s such a beautiful area, you’d be rushing through the short hike trying to get to the waterfall, and once you’ve done swimming you’d be rushing back to your bus. You’d be missing a lot of this beautiful place. I also loved that we stopped for a short 30 minutes Dole plantation. That’s really enough tbh. I would otherwise not have come here but now I can say that I have been there. I loved the fruit stands that we passed, bought some fruits. If you’ve had good sugar cane before don’t buy them here, they weren’t that great. While taste great, they weren’t very juicy, and quite hard to chew. You can definitely try if you’ve never had them before. Bought some macadamia honey at the “nut house”, and I loved the macadamia nut sampling. I was so tired at the end of the trip but definitely worth it!

We went directly to the North Shore without stopping and arrived early. The shop opening times varied, but we enjoyed eating acai bowls and browsing around the town as the shops opened. We had plenty of time, about five hours, to leisurely have lunch and take our time exploring the stores, making for a meaningful experience. On the way back, we also went non-stop and arrived in Waikiki in about an hour. I would love to participate again if the opportunity arises.

I was happily walking through the greenery when I arrived at the waterfall. There is a shuttle service, making trekking easy. After the valley, we had lunch in the town of Haleiwa. I was impressed by the juicy hamburger!! At Matsumoto Shave Ice, I had the matcha special. I heard they make the adzuki beans from scratch every day. It was delicious. The driver was very kind and gave us helpful advice.

They came to pick us up near the hotel as scheduled. There were four groups on the bus, and we were the only Japanese. During the ride, the driver shared information about Hawaii's history in English.

After arriving at Dole, we had malasadas and mineral water for breakfast. The driver also explained how to buy tickets and recommended some food options.

After the Dole experience, we went to the North Shore. Although we couldn't go to the famous sign, the driver introduced us to well-known spots before parking, and then we had free time. We could stop by Matsumoto Shave Ice, garlic shrimp, Patagonia, and more.

On the way back, we visited famous spots around Waikiki, such as King Kamehameha, while the driver provided commentary as we headed toward Waikiki. It was nice to be able to give a tip comfortably.

Our driver and guide, Masa, was a true delight—friendly, flexible, and incredibly helpful from start to finish. The shuttle itself was clean, smooth, and very comfortable, making for a relaxing ride.

What really made the experience stand out was Masa’s personal touch. He took the time to learn each of our names and offered outstanding tips and advice that really enriched our visit. It felt like more than just transportation—it was a warm, welcoming experience.

I think being able to ride horses along the coast is something unique to Hawaii, so I decided to participate. All the explanations were in English, but during the drive, our driver, Kaz, kindly provided information in Japanese, which made me feel at ease and allowed me to enjoy the experience! The horses seemed well-trained; they moved forward on their own when the horse in front did. In Haleiwa, I was dropped off at my desired location, so I could easily go to the shops I wanted to visit!

海沿いを乗馬できるのはハワイならではだと思い参加しました。
説明はすべて英語でしたが、行くまでの道中で日本語でドライバーのカズさんが事前に教えてくれていたので安心して楽しむことができました！
