Last year, I had a wonderful experience riding in the North Shore canyon, so I ended up doing canyon riding again this time. My 10-year-old grandson also wants to do it again next year. This was the first time he rode alone, and he seemed to really enjoy it, even wanting to go again on the same day. Riding in the canyon must have been the best feeling for him. Next year, I plan to have him ride in the canyon plus by the seaside.

One of the highlights of this tour is that you can enjoy sightseeing along the highway on the way to North Shore, which was a lot of fun. At the end of the ride, the staff from Happy Trails take family photos, so it's definitely a good idea to bring a camera.

In any case, I can't miss this riding plan next year. It's a shame I can't convey how I feel about this experience.

　１０歳になる孫も、来年もやりたいとのこと、何せ今回初めて一人で乗馬をさせたのですが、とても気に入ったのか当日もう一回やりたいというほど、渓谷を乗馬することは孫にとって最高の気分だったのかもしれません。
　来年は、渓谷プラス海辺の乗馬をさせたいと思っています。
　このツアーの特徴は、ノースショアーに行くまでの間、街道沿いの観光もできるのでとっても楽しかったです。
　乗馬の最後にハッピートレイのスタッフが家族写真をとってくれるので必ずカメラは持っていったほうがいいですね。
　ともかく来年もこの乗馬プランははずせません。
　この気持ち状況を伝えられないのが残念です。

The place was about an hour away from Honolulu but that wasn't problem. The website said to be there 30 min early and we were but the horse handlers said that wasn't neccessary. They were short handed and we ended up waiting more than an hour to ride but the place was majestic so we weren't bothered by the wait. The guides prepared us and were concerned about everyones safety. The ride was perfect. They guides were professional and took time to take our pictures while we were on the beach. I would do it again and would recommend it to anyone visiting Hawaii.. It was a great family experience.

I made a reservation.
However, I was unsure about canceling until the day before.
The night before, various thoughts crossed my mind, and I couldn't sleep well.

My family and I enjoy horseback riding but this one was not up to par. I booked a private lesson and was told we would be able to do more with the horses beside just walking them and also would not be a nose to tail ride but that's exactly what it was. We were told many things but none were true. A couple of the horses did not like having another horse so close to it's tail so they would constantly kick backwards. You're only on the beach for a short time to cross to the dusty path were you spend most of the time until you cross back over the beach to go back to the club. Our guide was also an unpleasant women who never spoke unless it was to tell us what we were doing wrong. It was definetely not worth the money we spent and would not go back.

I didn't have a friend to fly with, so I participated alone this time! I'm not good with roller coasters, but to be honest, this was way less scary than a roller coaster. It was exhilarating! However, I did feel quite nauseous after the parachute opened. I ordered the DVD, and when I had a screening with my friends at the hotel, it was a lot of fun!

Horseback riding has always been a really fun pastime for me, and I especially thought after seeing the ad on your site that this particular ride seemed different and unique. And it was!

The horses themselves are polo horses....and wow...are they beautiful. Very different from most ranch horses i have seen...and the ride itself...all I have ever been on have been on ranches along dusty trails or in the woods...THIS WAS ON THE BEACH...RIGHT BY THE WATER...IN HAWAII!! I honestly think I don't need to say anymore! On the beach...in Hawaii!

I choose this horsebackriding venue because of the website which stated they are not your typical trail ride. According to the ad we would not be riding nose to tail - that's exactly what we had to do--- also the ad stated we would be free to ride the horses to our ability-absolutely not, we were not allowed out of the line or to go faster than a walk or to go ahead of the guide-who was a most unpleasant woman. Also the beach part of the ride was very limited. The only high marks I give are to the horses!! They were not your typical trail horses. Overall I was disappointed, especially considering the high cost.

It was my first experience and I was very nervous, but as the instructor said, I was able to fly like a bird without feeling weightless. Falling from 4,200 meters at a speed of 200 km/h was thrilling. If you pay an additional fee (USD 188), a personal photographer will capture the entire experience from takeoff to landing on DVD and in about 100 photos. If you request something like "Please take a photo that captures the curvature of the Earth," they will likely accommodate that. Before flying, there is a few minutes of an image video and a brief lesson, but you will sign a contract stating that they are not responsible for any accidents, so the decision to participate is at your own risk. If you have any health concerns, it is recommended to see a doctor beforehand.

June 25, 2011: My first and probably last skydiving! I want to praise myself for doing well... Anyway, 1. Fear of heights doesn't really matter 2. There’s no G-force like on a roller coaster, and you don’t feel that floating sensation 3. The instructor is reliable, and you can experience it without any anxiety 4. The rapid descent changes the air pressure quickly, so your ears might hurt a bit 5. I think those who participated should definitely order the DVD 6. For those who haven't experienced it yet, those who are hesitating, and those who are unsure, I highly recommend participating (please consider the risks carefully). In December, I'm going to Hawaii with my husband, and he has also expressed his intention to participate, lol. It was so much fun!! Thank you to all the instructors!!

We participated as a couple. It was my husband's wish to join, and we had a really great time! I definitely recommend the course that has the longest airtime and goes the highest!

It gets cold up there. Also, the belts are quite tight, so I recommend wearing clothing that has some length around the shoulders and thighs. I wore a short-sleeve T-shirt and a long-sleeve shirt, but I ended up with light marks on my arms. If you have long hair, make sure to bring a hair tie! My hair is about shoulder length, and since I forgot a hair tie, it got really tangled after the flight.

You can land on both feet on the grass. I noticed that a few men landed on their bottoms (including my husband), so it might depend on the weight distribution with the instructor.

The mention of "long wait times" seems to refer to the editing time for those who requested DVDs. Still, during our time, there were 10 participants and 5 DVDs, and we were able to return to Waikiki around 12:30.

芝生地に両足で立って着地させてもらえます。
見ていると男性はお尻からのかたが数人いたので（うちの夫も）、インストラクターさんへの加重にもよるのかもしれません。

「待ち時間が長い」とあるのは、ＤＶＤを申し込んだ方々の編集時間待ちのようです。
それでも私たちのときは参加者10人、ＤＶＤ5人で、12時半ごろにはワイキキに戻れました。

a different kind of ride

My new husband and I booked a private ride with the Hawaii Polo Club while on our honeymoon. I've been on several other guided horseback trail rides in the past, but this was a little different. For one thing, the horses are actually polo-horses, not the standard "follow-the-leader" horses of a typical ranch. Because of this, you are better off if you have at least a little experience in handling horses. There were a few times that loud noises or unfamiliar things on the path caused some skittishness.

One thing that made me a little uncomfortable was that my activity voucher said we would need to sign a liability waiver before the ride. I assume this is a standard practice, but the staff at the club just saddled up our horses, and off we went. No forms, no waivers, they didnt even tell us their names, nor did they ask ours. Good thing (for them) our slightly skittish horses didnt dump us on our heads.

The usual choice for horseback riding was Kualoa Ranch, but since the reviews for their horseback riding weren't very good, I searched online and found this ranch that offers a tour with transportation included. I had been using Alan for optional activities in Hawaii, so I made a reservation.
The horses here are very smart, and even beginners can enjoy horseback riding with peace of mind. They walk at a very leisurely pace, which might be a bit unsatisfying for experienced riders, but I was able to take photos with one hand while enjoying the scenery in the mountains.
The trail goes through some very enchanting trees, and the view of the North Shore from the top of the mountain was absolutely beautiful.
I think it's definitely an experience worth having when you visit Hawaii.

I wasn't scared even though I have a fear of heights.

It was fun coming down with a parachute while looking at the beautiful sea.

However, there is a lot of waiting time afterward, so if you're short on time, it might be better to go by rental car. I think I waited for about an hour and a half.

Dream Ride

This was an awesome ride on the beach. And YES you DO ride on the beach. The area is beautiful and could see the whales playing in the ocean as we rode. The white sands of the beaches against the turquoise water was breathtaking.

I took the private ride and it is definitely not a standard trail ride. The polo horses were very well behaved and easy to ride. I recommend this to anyone who loves horses and has always wanted to ride on the beach in Hawaii.

Would definitely book this again when back on the island.

It was a valuable experience that everyone should try at least once in their lifetime. It was really exciting. Whether I want to do it again is another story, but it was a wonderful experience.

The cost was a bit high due to various tips and fees, so there was a slight gap in expectations, but I guess it can't be helped.

The instructor was nice, and I'm glad I returned safely.

I had a great time at Hawaii Polo ride! I've been on a horse before at a different commercial ranch, so I wasn't expecting much. Usually the horses are pretty worn down, tired and boring. Oh boy, this wasn't the case at all. All the horses at Hawaii Polo Club are well trained professional polo horses, so they are young, strong, muscular and ready to trot. They are just gorgeous to look at!

Even the guide from Argentine was a professional polo player/trainer, so he knew all about the horses. (I didn't know that Argentine was the capital of polo!) He explained to us what to do and what not to do with the horse. I was a bit nervous first since the horse was a professional polo horse, and you know what they say about how the horse can feel your fear! But the guide made me feel relaxed, and I definitely enjoy the ride on the beautiful beach on North Shore.

This is highly recommended! Very romantic for couples for sure.

I approached this with the determination to risk my life. That said, I wasn't scared at all, so anyone can take on the challenge. When I fell, it was more painful for my ears than it felt good. It might be a good idea to practice equalizing your ears...

The view during the dive was amazing, but I was really moved by the scenery I saw while ascending in the airplane (we flew with the door open).

Since it had rained the day before, it seemed there were a lot of participants, and the waiting time was long, which made others tired. However, I enjoyed taking pictures of various flowers and the parachutes coming down while I waited, so it wasn't a problem for me.

The DVD and photos cost $200 if you order both, but since a dedicated photographer is included, I thought it was a reasonable price despite being high. It has become a great memory.

前日が雨だったため、参加人数が多かったらしく、待ち時間が長くてほかの人はくたびれてましたが、私は待ってる間、いろんな花や降りてくるパラシュートの写真を撮って楽しんでいたので苦になりませんでした。
DVDと写真は両方たのむと200ドルかかりますが、専属カメラマンが付くので、高いですけど妥当な値段だと思って撮ってもらいました。いい思い出になっています。

I chose the canyon course, and we really just went a little way up a "mountain." The ups and downs were quite steep, which kept things interesting. We were able to ride for a solid hour and a half, so I felt very satisfied. The horses were well-trained and smart, allowing even beginners to feel safe and comfortable. My mother, who is in her sixties, seemed very satisfied as well.

The staff only spoke English, so it would have been even more enjoyable if I could speak English... The nuts they showed us with gestures were delicious! Thank you very much!

渓谷コースを選択しましたが、ほんとにちょっと
した「山」を進んでゆきます。
上り下りも結構急で、飽きません。
がっつり１時間半乗馬できるので、満足感があります。
お馬さんはきちんと調教されておりお利口なため、
初心者でも安心して身をゆだねることができました。
一緒に行った還暦の母も大満足だったようです。

ついてくれるスタッフの方は英語のみなので、
英語が出来れば更に楽しかっただろうなぁ。。。
ジェスチャーで教えてくれた木の実、美味しかったです！どうもありがとうございました！

At an altitude of 4,000 meters... falling as if from above Mount Fuji.

If you're feeling a bit scared and hesitant, you should definitely take the plunge!

It's an incredibly moving experience that words can't express!

I was nervous at the moment of jumping out of the Cessna, but the beautiful scenery as far as the eye can see is something only those who dive can truly understand.

There wasn't much explanation, but the guide who dove with us was kind, so I didn't feel anxious.

As for the photos... they were a bit pricey, and I kind of regret not ordering them.

Until now, I always made sure to include scuba diving wherever I went, but this time I experienced horseback riding in the canyon with my wife. We went from Honolulu to the North Shore with a tour company guide, who was very knowledgeable. They provided detailed explanations of the famous landmarks we saw along the way, making the journey to our destination enjoyable.

Previously, I had only passed by Hawaii's sacred sites, the school where President Obama attended, the hospital where he was born, and other essential facts that one must know to have a conversation. (I wonder if we just got lucky with the guide and tour company?)

As mentioned in the tour description, after the pickup, we stopped at places like Moanalua Gardens, Dole Plantation, Turtle Beach, and explored Haleiwa Town. I thought we might not have enough time, but once I tried horseback riding, it felt like it was worth it.

When we arrived at Happy Trails (the horseback riding ranch?), the owner, who seemed to be in charge, explained how to ride and control the horse with plenty of humor and gestures. (The explanation was all in English, so it might be difficult for those without language skills.) However, the tour guide explained the basic operating methods in Japanese before we arrived, so there was no need to worry at all. Additionally, the guide was there to assist with the owner's explanations, so I felt reassured.

　ホノルルからノースショアーへ、ツアー会社のガイドの元行ったのですが、ガイドの人が博学で、途中車窓からの眺められた名所旧跡などの説明を細かく案内してくれ、飽きずに目的地まで着くことができました。
　今までは、単に通り過ぎていたハワイの聖地や、現オバマ大統領の出身校、生まれた病院、アメリカ大統領になるための必須条件ｅｔｃ、まさに知識を取り入れておかなくては話せないような事柄を案内してくれたのです。（ガイド・ツアー会社に当たったのですかね？）
　このツアーは案内説明にもあるようにピックアップ後、モアナルガーデン、ドールプランテーション、海がめビーチ、ハレイワ・タウン散策など途中で立ち寄ります。参加して、ちょっと時間が足らないかなと思いがちでしたが、乗馬体験をしてみるとしょうがないような気がしました。
　ハッピートレイズ（乗馬体験場所の牧場？）に着くとオーナーと思われる人が乗馬のやり方、操り方法をユーモアたっぷりジェスチャーをまじえて説明してくれます。（説明は全て英語です、語学力のない方は無理かな？）・・・・・・・なんて言いません。
　現地に着くまでにツアーガイドの人が日本語で最低限度の操作方法を説明してくれますので、まったく心配ありません
　さらにオーナーの説明に対してもガイドの方がかたわらで説明してくれるので心配ありませんでした。
　馬については調教された馬で、オーナーが乗る人の相性を確かめながら馬を選んでくれているとの事でした。（ほんとかね？）
　出発した後、馬とともに林の中や渓谷を上ったり降りたり適度なストレスとスリルを味わいながら乗馬したのです。
　＝＝とっても楽しいよ！！！＝＝
　途中渓谷を抜けると開けた場所で、眼下に海を望み感動の一場面を得ました。＝＝本当に楽しいよ！！！＝＝
　妻は今度は孫（小４）も連れて来てこの乗馬体験をさせるのだと張りきっています。
　＝＝本当に日ごろのストレスを発散させてもらったツアーで、牧場のオーナーやツアー会社に感謝の気持ちでいっぱいです。＝＝

I participated this time because I wanted to experience horseback riding.

Additionally, during the ride, the ranch staff provide fun support in very simple English, making the hour feel very short and giving a great sense of security.

The great thing about the mountain course is that you can enjoy the ups and downs of a course that you wouldn't typically find in Japan while feeling a pleasant breeze. Also, the view of the North Shore from the top of the mountain was fantastic.

Beyond the horseback riding experience, I think the guiding skills of this activity are worth experiencing. They make sure you enjoy everything on the way to and from the ranch, including Dole Plantation, turtle watching at Turtle Beach, and lunch at a non-frozen shrimp stand. Moreover, they can drop you off at your desired shopping area (DFS, Ala Moana) on the way back, allowing you to make the most of your day.

しかし、このアクティビティで使用される馬はポロ用にしっかり調教されており、初心者でかつあまり運動神経に自信がない私でも非常に楽しむことが出来ました。

乗馬に関する各注意事項は、ガイドの方がしっかり日本語で説明してくださるので、英語に不安を覚える方でも安心して参加することが出来ます。

また、乗馬中は牧場の方が非常に簡単な英語で楽しくフォローしてくれるので一時間がとても短く感じますし、安心感も非常にありました。

山コースの良いところは、日本では考えられないアップダウンがあるコースを気持ちがいい風を浴びながら楽しめるところです。
また、山の上からノースショアを一望できて最高でした。

乗馬体験以外にも、このアクティビティのガイド力は一度体験してみる価値はあると思います。
ドールプランテーション、亀海岸での亀ウォッチング、冷凍ではないシュリンプ屋台での昼食等、牧場までの行き帰り全てを無駄なく満喫させてくれます。
また、帰りは希望のショッピングエリア（DFS、アラモアナ）で車を下してもらうという希望にもこたえて頂けるので一日を無駄なく満喫することができます。

今回は一人参加で不安もありましたが、ガイドの方がしっかりフォローアップしてくれるので非常に楽しむことができました。

Horseback riding was amazing. I was able to ride for a long time, and instead of flat terrain, we went up and down mountains, which was a rare experience that I can't have in Japan.
At the turtle beach, I didn't see any turtles basking on the shore that day, but I discovered some turtles in the water! My excitement shot up instantly.
The shrimp I had for lunch was delicious. My sister, who was with me, said it was "the best" during her stay in Hawaii.

乗馬は最高でした。長時間乗れて、歩くのも平地ではなく山の登り降りがあり、日本では体験できない様な貴重な経験が出来ました。
海がめのビーチではこの日は甲羅干しをしているカメは見られませんでしたが、海の中にいるカメを発見！テンションが一気にあがりました。
お昼に食べた海老は美味しかった。一緒にいった妹はハワイ滞在中で『一番だった』と言ってました。
