First, the onboard restrooms were overcrowded, which was quite challenging. Although there was a note about it being cold due to the air conditioning, it was actually the sea breeze and the temperature drop at night that made it necessary to wear a down jacket. Wearing sandals made my feet extremely cold, so I thought that UGG boots or similar would be the best choice!

As for the food, there was no option to request how the meat was cooked, and when I asked for it to be cooked again, it ended up even rarer and completely inedible. I wanted my money back. The only dish that was delicious was the lobster, which was excellent, but we had to shell it ourselves. To get to the finer parts, it was nearly impossible for women without support from the men. While there was meat in the crab claws, it was also difficult for women to shell them. If your boyfriend or husband doesn't help, you can't eat it. The provided bread was not freshly baked; it was the kind of stick bread you find at convenience stores or supermarkets, served cold. The grissini-like bread was nice, but only one per person was not enough. Crackers, cheese, and fruits were available on a first-come, first-served basis, which made it very crowded. If you waited, they would be gone. They were replenishing, but there was hardly any left. Since everything was cold, the only warm dish was the steak, but it seemed to cool down quickly. For coffee or tea after the meal, if you didn't ask, they would just serve coffee. It cooled down completely in about a minute.

The dessert, mango mousse cake, was mostly sponge with an overly sweet mousse that lacked a strong mango flavor. It tasted more like whipped cream. This was another disappointment.

Overall, it was a rather disappointing event that did not match the price with the quality. While the sunset and the lobster were worth it, it would have been fine without the cruise.

料理は、焼き加減のリクエストもなく、焼き直ししてもらったら、さらにレアになっており、全く食べられない。お金返して欲しかった。料理はロブスターだけが美味しく、最高でしたが、各自で剥かなければならず、細かい場所を食べるためには、男性のスタートなサポートなが無いと、女性は剥くのが至難の業。カニ爪にも身はあるものの、女性には剥くのが無理。彼氏や旦那さんがやってあげないと食べられません。備え付けのパンは焼いたものでもなく、良くあるコンビニやスーパーにあるスティックパン。冷え切ってるバージョン。グリッシーニみたいなのは良かったが1人1個ずつで物足りない。クラッカーやチーズ、フルーツも早い者勝ちで取りに行くスタイルなので激混み。待ってたら無くなってる。補充もしてるが、ほぼ無かった。冷え切っているので、料理も温かいものはステーキ位ですが、すぐに冷えてた模様。食後のコーヒーかティーは言わないと勝手にコーヒー。1分位で冷め切ってしまった。
デザートのマンゴームースケーキは、スポンジばかりでムースは甘すぎ、マンゴー感があまりない。ホイップ味。これまたガッカリ。
値段とクオリティーに比例しない、かなり残念なイベント。夕日、ロブスターの価値はあったが、クルーズじゃなくても良かった。

Hello everybody,

Let me share our experience (honeymooners) on the 5 Stars Course of that Dinner Cruise with you.

In terms of hospitality, starting from the pick-up crew, to the captains and waitress (many thanks to lovely Jordan), it was just great.

We had an super easy pick up with a bus, where everyone received a sticker depending on the course they’ve booked and then took around 15-30 minutes to get the harbor.

Everyone had a warm welcome with local dance and music in front of the boat while boarding. Once we have taken our seats, we were welcomed with nice champagne and some cheese and ham plate with crackers.

In terms of the food in that day, it was simply amazing and tasty. ESPECIALLY the served meat. Whoever cooked that: genius!

Anyhow, besides food and drinks we got the chance to explore the boat between the food breaks. We had an amazing view on Waikiki/Diamond Head/other boats, even though it was cloudy. It was still very enjoyable. And also we had the great luck to see whales! That was the cherry on top.

Well, besides all of that going on, we had live entertainment (pianist, some Saxophon and some singer - all just awesome). They’ll also take a picture of you, so for 30$ you can purchase them.
In the end, everyone with some special occasion was asked to dance in the middle of the room, which was pretty romantic.


Overall, it was really worth it.

Minus points for:
- photo only available as data file for another 20$ (why?!)
- pretty chilly inside the boat (but guess this depends on the season)


Overall, just great! Would love to board once more in the future.

I participated in a 5-star dinner cruise! To sum it up, it was amazing! Here are my impressions:

- The meal included lobster and prime tenderloin, which were incredibly delicious.
- I was guided to the 4th floor and had access to the observation deck exclusive to 5-star guests, where I enjoyed beautiful views.
- During dinner, there was live jazz music, which added to the enjoyment.
- There was also a photo session, and the pictures taken were presented in a booklet as a gift.
- They provided bus transportation back to a location near my hotel, making access very convenient.

- The air conditioning on the ship was quite strong, so I recommend bringing a jacket.

Perhaps because it was a weekday, all the middle seats were empty, and we were seated by the window with a view. 平日という事もあってか、真ん中の席は全て空いていて、景色が見える窓際に案内されました。

Nova Five Star package should be renamed to, 'Ten Star.' The reason being this package was over the top elegant, professional, and accommodating. Each table had their own charcuterie board, which was perfect snack to get the evening started.

The meal was served in an order that was so unique. I had never had sorbet in the middle of a meal, and I'm still dreaming of the texture and flavor. The presentation/ quality of food was very impressive. Each course amazed me more and more!

The music throughout the meal was so relaxing, and set the mood for a delightful evening. If you are looking for an intimate evening with your loved one, this is the package for you!

Mahalo to SOH for going the extra mile to create a magical space!

We did the dinner cruise with the Nova Five Star on the 4th deck of the boat and it was a treat and we really had a great time. Their table set up at the Super Nova Room was so beautiful, clean, so organized, and elegant! We had our own private table seating next to the window and we enjoyed the night view even without having to explore the boat.

We thoroughly enjoyed the delicious dinner. The steak was exceptionally tender, and the fresh fruit sorbet was our favorite. The servers provided excellent service as well, and the entertainment complemented the rainy weather, creating a more relaxing atmosphere.

Anyone looking for a romantic celebration on Valentine's Day, Anniversary, or any special occasion, the NOVA Five Star aboard the Star of Honolulu is an ideal choice.

For those seeking for a smaller crowd and more privacy, I would recommend booking the Nova Five Star cruise on Thursdays as it is not as busy as on the weekends.

Unfortunately, it rained on the day of our cruise at the beginning of February during the rainy season. We arrived early at the Aloha Tower area, but since there isn't much to do, it might be better not to arrive too early. We were able to watch a hula dance show in front of the ship before check-in time. After that, we boarded the ship. It seems that the deck level changes depending on the course rank! We moved to the fourth floor for the five-course meal! The ship has an elevator.

After giving our names, we were shown to our seats and served a delicious welcome drink of champagne! Once we set sail, we enjoyed a toast from the captain and a hula performance by the dancers! We enjoyed our meal for a while, and although we might have been able to see the sunset outside, we couldn't due to the rain. However, we were able to take our time with the meal and enjoy some jazz music in the second half! The ship was a bit rocky, possibly due to the rain and strong winds, so those who are prone to seasickness should be cautious! The restrooms were very spacious and clean!

出航したら、キャプテンの乾杯の挨拶、ダンサーによるフラを見ることができます！しばらく食事を楽しんで、本来ならサンセットを外で見ることができたのかもしれませんが、当日は雨の為見ることは出来ませんでした。ただその分ゆっくり食事をして、後半にはジャズを聴きながら楽しむことができました！雨と強風のせいかわかりませんが少し船は揺れてました(･･;)船酔いする方は気をつけた方がいいかもしれません！お手洗いはとても広く綺麗でした！

However, there was one point: I had no idea how to eat the lobster at first, so I ended up mimicking what the person next to me was doing. It would have been nice to have an explanation.

It was my first sunset cruise in 12 years.

I forgot the details of my previous reservation and chose the buffet option, but I regretted not opting for the course meal even though it was a bit more expensive. I was satisfied with both the food and the sunset, but I think the quality of the dancers varied based on the price.

Previously, there were 4 to 5 muscular male dancers and about the same number of female dancers, and I was able to fully enjoy authentic Hawaiian dance (fire dance), which was truly impressive.

However, this time, the dance matched the price, and while it was wonderful, it was just one dancer, so it lacked a bit of the impact I was hoping for. Additionally, my mother found it unpleasant when the male dancer shouted, as saliva would fly out each time. I don't think I'll go for a third time!

For those thinking of a cruise in Hawaii, I recommend the course meal! (The levels, lighting, and walls are all different.)

やはり金額に応じたダンスで、素晴らしいのですが、1人でダンスだったので少し迫力には物足りなかったのが正直なところです。。あと、ダンスする男性の叫び声のたびに唾が飛んできて母は不愉快だといっていました
もう3回目はないかなー！

ハワイならクルーズ！と思っている人はコース料理がいいと思います！（階層もライティングも壁も違うので）

We arrived early at the meeting place and time. We boarded the ship quite early as well. During that time, the ship rocked, and I felt like I might get seasick already. Then we set sail. There are course meals and buffets available; while the course might be nice, getting seasick would be the worst. We chose the buffet, but there weren't many options. If you're looking to have a lot of variety, the course might be better.

If you think you won't be able to eat much after having a lot during the day, the buffet is probably fine. During the meal, they had various dances like hula, which was fun. We even danced the YMCA together at the end. It was enjoyable.

早めの集合場所、集合時間にいきました。船に乗るのもかなり早く船内へ。その間に船は揺れ、もうすその時点で船酔いしそう。そして出港。食事は、コース、バイキングとありますが、コースも良いかもしれませんが、船酔いしたら最悪⤵️です。私達は、バイキングにしましたが、沢山の種類はありませんでした。いっぱい、充実したいなぁ〜って思う方は、コースの方が良いかも。
昼間にいっぱい色々食べて食べれない！と思うかたは、適当にバイキングで良いかと思います。
　食事中にフラダンスなど色々と踊っていただき楽しかったです。最後のYMCAは、一緒に踊りました。

We used this place for dinner on the last night of our honeymoon. The food, the view, and the show were all amazing, creating a special atmosphere that was perfect for our honeymoon trip. I expected this, but… reluctantly due to my wife's wishes. For three of us, including the kids, it was over 80,000 yen, and we didn't even have alcohol.

We made our way through the crowded ship, mixed in with the tour guests, and took our seats. The food was about what you'd expect for the price. Since it was high-quality ingredients, it was hard to go wrong. However, the appetizers were served buffet-style in the outer corridor, which felt a bit cheap. The same goes for the desserts.

The staff, made up of part-timers gathered for a large group event, were trying to manage everything quickly due to time constraints, so everything was just okay.

The stage show with hula and other performances was a bit disappointing. It seems there might be a shortage of talent. In the end, they tried to pump up the energy with "Young Man," but it felt forced.

What was somewhat nice was the view from the ship and the atmosphere during departure. Being on a ship is enjoyable in itself.

Despite the exchange rate, I still feel it was expensive for what we got.

Lastly, a few good points…

Since it's a large ship, it doesn't sway, so no seasickness. The service was not too bad, although it was a bit chaotic. They had a photo service where a photographer came around to take pictures, and they were ready by the time we disembarked, with no extra charge.

Still… if you include parking fees, it came close to 100,000 yen. There are better ways to spend that money for more satisfaction, right?

Oh, and I panicked when the Aloha Tower parking lot was full. I looked around but couldn't find any alternatives… If you're renting a car, make sure to allow some extra time!

最後はヤングマンで強引に盛り上げようと力技。

少し良かったのは
船上からの眺めや出航時の雰囲気。
船っていうのは、それだけで気持ちいい。

レートの関係があるものの
やっぱり高い、値段の割にはという感想が強くなります。


最後に良い点を少し…

大型船なので揺れません、船酔い無し。
接客等、さほど悪くないです。バタバタしてますが。
写真のサービス、カメラマンが回ってきて撮影。下船時までに仕上げてくれ、追加料金無し。

まあそれでも…
駐車料金も含めたら、10万近く。
もう少し満足度の高い使い方出来ますよね笑

そうそう！
アロハタワーの駐車場が満車になっていて焦りました。
周りも探しましたが見当たらず…
レンタカーの方は少し余裕を持って行きましょう！

Food:
The quality was commensurate with the price, and the main steak was very delicious.

Service:
The staff's response was polite and good. I think it's reassuring for those who are not good at English since there are Japanese menus and program sheets available.

Live Show:
In addition to dance performances like Hawaiian and Polynesian, there was a live show. However, the talk corner that involved the audience during the show might not be enjoyable for those who cannot speak English or who are not accustomed to the Western style of interaction.

Air Conditioning:
This was the biggest point of concern and a major factor that lowered my rating. The air conditioning was set to a very low temperature, and especially in the lower decks, it was very cold due to being closed off. When I communicated this to the staff, they responded that they could not adjust the air conditioning or provide blankets. Although prior notices mentioned to prepare a jacket, I strongly recommend bringing a jacket, especially a thick one, if you are sensitive to cold when participating in this dinner.
*The upper deck did not have air conditioning as it was open to the outside, so the outside temperature was felt directly.

If you take care of the air conditioning issue, you can fully enjoy the entertainment and food, and if it's a Friday, you can see the weekly fireworks from the ship.

スタッフの対応は丁寧で良かった。日本語メニュー・プログラム表もある為、英語が苦手な人でも安心だと思う。

ライブショー:
ハワイアン・ポリネシアンなどのダンスパフォーマンスに加え、ライブショーを行なった。ただ、ショーの合間にあった、客を巻き込んだトークコーナーは英語が出来ない方、欧米特有のノリに乗れない人は楽しめないかもしれません。

空調:
最大の注意点にして、評価を下げた大きな要因
空調の設定温度が非常に低く設定されており、
特に下層の船室は閉めきられているせいもあり、
非常に寒かった。
スタッフにその旨伝えても、空調の調節やブランケットなどの対応は出来ないと回答された。
事前の案内でも上着を用意するように記載されているが、こちらのディナーに参加する際は必ず上着、の持参、特に寒がりの方は厚手のものを持参する事を推奨します。
※上層階は船室ではなく吹き通しであった為、
　そもそも空調がなく外気温そのままでした。

空調の対策さえ、気をつければエンタメや食事は
充分楽しめる上、金曜日であれば毎週恒例の花火を
船上から見る事ができます。

I finally experienced the cruise and show I had been looking forward to. The view of Waikiki Beach from the ship was amazing, and starting with welcome champagne, the delicious lobster was truly satisfying! I also enjoyed some wine and had a great time enjoying various Hawaiian shows! (If you're prone to seasickness, I recommend taking some medication beforehand...)

念願のクルーズ＆ショーを体験してきました。
船からのワイキキビーチの景観も素晴らしく、ウエルカムシャンパンから始まり本当おいしいロブスターが大満足！

I had a great time even before departure, and the scenery after the ship set sail was wonderful. After enjoying delicious lobster and steak, the interactive show really boosted my spirits. I felt warm both inside and out, and I definitely recommend this if you're going to Oahu.

出発前から楽しい時間を過ごし、船が出発してからの景色は素晴らしかった。美味しいロブスターやステーキを満喫した後は、体験型のショーでテンションが一気に上がりました。心も体も温かくなり、オアフ島に行くなら絶対におすすめです。
