We used the service with three family members. There were only two other Japanese groups, and most of the participants were from Europe and America. Comfortable, scenic, and fun. The views were great and the crew were very attentive. They went above and beyond for a couple passengers with sea sickness.
Don't worry if you're the last to board and can't find a seat, once you take off everyone is outside and moving around. No wait at the bar or food table. Friendly crew, and they're more than happy to share their knowledge of the islands.
A light jacket or long sleeve shirt might be needed at sunset.
And don't arrive too early since there is a little wait before boarding.

I had been taken care of here before, and when I searched my experience records, I found that it was in 2013.
It was my first time on board in five years, and I was able to enjoy dinner time as expected. I was on a three-star cruise.
The meal had a buffet for the appetizers, while the rest were served by the waitstaff. Thanks to the waitstaff's reaction to my sister's nails, which she had chosen for Hawaii, the atmosphere during the meal was very pleasant.
Unfortunately, I had to consider my brother-in-law, who was worried about seasickness, so my brother returned home first, allowing me to participate this time.
In my memory, the ship was large and hardly swayed, but I realized that it was indeed rocking with the waves. I was relieved that I didn't force my brother to board by telling him a lie.
I felt that it was swaying more than I expected, and I felt a bit unwell, possibly due to the alcohol.
However, I gained energy from the staff's dance and was able to enjoy myself thoroughly.
By the time I realized it, the ship was entering the port, and it was time to say goodbye.
The weather can greatly affect the experience, but I felt it was worth it to go on this cruise.

I participated in this cruise at my mother's request, and I think it was worth adjusting the schedule and cutting out optional activities I wanted to do in order to join.

５年ぶりの乗船ですが、期待通りのディナータイムを楽しむことができました。３スターでの乗船です。
食事は、前菜のみブュッフェ式で、他はウェイトレスさんが持ってきてくれます。そのウェイトレスさん方が姉がハワイの為に決めてきたネイルに反応してくれたお陰で、和やかな空気での食事となりました。
残念ながら、船酔いを気にする義理の兄に気を使い、兄が先に帰国したため、今回参加することができました。
自分の記憶では船が大きく殆ど揺れていないイメージでしたが、実際にはうねりを拾って揺れているのが分かりました。
兄に嘘を言って無理やり乗船させなくて良かったと思いました。
自分でも、意外に揺れているな？と思う位の揺れでして、お酒の影響なのか少しだけ気分がすぐれませんでした。
しかし、スタッフさんのダンスに元気をもらい、しっかり楽しむことができました。
気がついた時には、船が港に入っていて、お別れの時間となっている位でした。
天候にかなり左右されますが、乗って良かったと思いました。

母の希望で参加したこのクルーズ、日程調整をして、行きたかったオプショナルを削ってでも参加して良かったと思っています。

I could not be more pleased with my experience on the Star of Honolulu for our vow renewal! The entire experience was flawless from the captain and his beautiful words to the fireworks over the beach at the end. Only two suggestions or pieces of information for others considering this... 1) the three-star experience is not air conditioned and if you are there in July like we were, be prepared to sweat! 2) no children's menu so if you have a picky little one like I do, bring kid-friendly snacks

First, the pickup location for the shuttle bus was at another hotel about a 10-minute walk from our hotel. Since we had small children (1.5 years and 3 years old), it took us about 15 minutes. We boarded the bus and headed to the next pickup location, which turned out to be a hotel very close to our accommodation... I thought it would have been better if they had just picked the nearest hotel! Especially with small children. I should have checked in advance...

The dinner cruise was a lot of fun, with the dancers putting in a lot of effort to entertain us. The kids also enjoyed dancing the hula with us. The food was great; the roast chicken was something the kids devoured!

The meeting place was farther than I expected, so I was a bit late, but the boat hadn't arrived yet. The hotel provided a welcoming experience with clear explanations about tickets and drinks, allowing us to participate with peace of mind. For the appetizers, we could help ourselves to as much fruit and cheese as we liked from the menu on the table. Each person received two drink tickets to order any alcoholic or soft drinks they wanted. Special drinks were available for an additional charge, and payment was made each time. I wanted my 2-year-old to experience sailing, so we participated! There were two other families with small children, and about 40% of the participants were Japanese.

I had expected mostly young foreigners based on the reviews, but surprisingly, there were quite a few older participants as well (laughs), and the atmosphere was quite relaxed. However, when the waves splashed, everyone got excited and started squealing, and as the drinks kicked in, we gradually began dancing to the music, enjoying the lively vibe of a different culture!

The captain and crew didn't speak Japanese, but they were friendly and cheerful, which made for a pleasant experience.

While some reviews mention negative experiences, I think those who enjoy drinking and having a good time will really enjoy this. We've participated in various activities during our trip to Hawaii, but my husband, who doesn't speak English, said this cruise was the most fun. The rocking of the boat is quite intense, making it perfect for those who love roller coasters!
