We participated with our family of three and our sixth-grade child.

As a beginner in snorkeling, I was a bit anxious, but I was taught carefully from the basics, and I was able to enjoy snorkeling very much. Swimming close to the fish in Hanauma Bay felt like I had become one of them. Unfortunately, we couldn't see any turtles, but Fumio-san searched hard for them, and I am very grateful for that.

I'm really glad we participated. I plan to join again the next time we go to Hawaii♪

If you're going to snorkel in Hanauma Bay, I absolutely recommend this tour!

I didn't see any fish at Waikiki Beach, but here there were plenty of fish. The guide also helped us look for turtles, and we got to see a lot of them. They provided thorough explanations for snorkeling, and it wasn't just a casual experience; it felt pleasantly challenging. There's no need to line up at the entrance, so I highly recommend it.

Hanauma Bay Snorkel -- best value for a beginner snorkeler

Take the earliest shuttle (6:00 a.m. from your hotel) to avoid beach crowd and avoid the park fee (if you get there before 7:00 -- no additional park fee!).
Driver was courteous, informative and fun. Equipment was in great condition, and you can expand on what you get (which is basics, but enough) for very little cost.
Had about 2.5 hours of snorkeling fun.

This was my second time participating, following last year. The waves were calm and the sea was very beautiful on the day of the event. Under the guidance of Mr. Dan, I was able to see many fish. I was disappointed that I couldn't meet Bob the moray eel this year, but then Ms. Chieko said, "There are turtles." I was thrilled to see a sea turtle underwater! My husband and son got out partway through, but when they realized there were turtles, Ms. Chieko went all the way to the beach to call out, "There are sea turtles!" Their hospitality and guidance were truly amazing. If I can come again next year, I will definitely ask for them! Thank you very much.

All the guided snorkeling tours were booked, so we decided to just book the shuttle to Hanauma Bay and do our own snorkeling excursion. It worked out perfectly! The driver arrived at the pick up location on time, was polite and personable, and we didn't have to get up super early to snag a parking spot before the lot filled up. And the snorkeling was great!

I was looking forward to it, so I was a bit disappointed. Hanauma Bay was murky, probably due to the high tide, and it wasn't worth the money to pay for it. Compared to Guam and Saipan... it was disappointing. The female instructor... she might need to be that assertive to live in Hawaii, but her condescending tone from start to finish was very unpleasant. I thought it was pointless to get angry halfway through, so I gave up and got used to it. Mr. Dan was surprisingly nice, and I felt he had a good balance. They provided transportation, the equipment was very good, they explained how to use it properly, there was no wasted time, and they took good care of the family who was snorkeling for the first time. We even got to see sea turtles, and they took photos for us. There were more good things than bad, but... I'm done with it.

On the day of the tour, we had a plan for the afternoon, and it was just my husband and me participating. Our guide was Chieko, a very friendly Japanese woman. She was quite experienced, and she seemed to know everyone at Hanauma Bay. It had been quite a challenge for us since we participated in a snorkeling tour in Saipan 30 years ago, but Chieko efficiently taught us the snorkeling techniques, so we felt comfortable joining in. She also took underwater photos and shared them with us. She guided us expertly to points where many fish were swimming. To our surprise, we even saw a turtle. It was an unforgettable and wonderful memory. I’m really glad we participated. Hanauma Bay is thoroughly protected, so the water is very clear and beautiful, and the fish are impressively large. They grow big because they are protected. We saw mongooses playing on the beach. With the life jackets, we floated safely, and by moving our fins, we could swim forward. All we had to do was breathe through our mouths instead of our noses. My husband and I confidently recommend this tour to everyone.

当日は午後からのプランで、参加者は私達夫婦だけでした。担当はchiekoさん。とっても気さくな、日本の方でした。相当なベテランの方で、ハナウマ湾の係りの方は皆、知り合いでした。私達はなにしろ、サイパンで３０年前にシュノーケルツアーに参加して以来のチャレンジですが、chiekoさんが手際よくシュノーケルの要領を教えてくれたので安心して参加出来ました。水中写真も撮っていただいてアップして下さいました。魚が沢山泳いでいるポイントを要領よく案内していただきました。なんと、亀も見れました。一生忘れられない素晴らしい思い出です。本当に参加して良かったです。ハナウマ湾は自然保護が徹底しているので、水はとっても透き通ってきれいですし、お魚さんのなんと大きいこと。迫力満点です。保護されているので、大きく育つそうです。海岸ではマングースが遊んでいました。ライフジャケットで体は浮いているので、安心ですし、足ヒレを動かせば前に進みます。後は鼻で息をしないで、口で呼吸すればいいだけです。私達夫婦はこのツアーを自信を持って皆さんに推薦します。

So Many Fish!!!

I want to start this review by saying that Kieko (our guide) picked us up at our hotel and I was not in the right pick up area. She was actually walking around calling out my name and found me. I cannot thank her enough!!!

The tour was about a half day long - we went in the morning, which I would recommend because it can get crowded at Hanauma as the day goes on.

We were able to lock up our valuables while we were in the water. The tram ride down and back up to the parking lot was awesome

As for the snorkelling - it was AMAZING. I cannot believe how many different species of marine life we saw. So much fun. I did not want to get out of the water!

It was great to see everything efficiently because we had a guide. In the morning, many people got seasick, but it was good that no one got sick in the afternoon. We were able to see fish, but we didn't see any turtles; apparently, they aren't visible every day. We did see turtles on the Waikiki and dolphin tours.

I was looking forward to this, so I was shocked by the way the Japanese female instructor spoke from a condescending perspective. When someone else, who is also Japanese, asked a question, she would interrupt and talk about herself instead. When I asked about the condition of the ocean, her only response was that I wouldn't know unless I looked at the sea. If she had already conducted this tour in the morning, I think there could have been a better way to reassure the customers with her answers. As a professional, I really wanted her to answer the customers' questions properly.

The view from the entrance of Hanauma Bay was breathtaking. The snorkeling was quite challenging, and perhaps the conditions weren't suitable that day. I have participated in various snorkeling tours before, but for the first time, I felt like I shouldn't have come. She mentioned that she would take photos with a GoPro, but there was no explanation when it turned out to be broken or unusable; it was just left at that. During the pickup, she stayed seated in the driver's seat without getting out of the car and just said, "Thank you." It felt like she mistook me for a friend. I only regret choosing this tour during my short trip to Hawaii after paying for it. I believe everyone has their own feelings about experiences, but I found it quite unpleasant.

今までシュノーケルツアーはいろいろなものに参加してきましたが、
初めて来なければよかったと感じました。
goproで撮影してくれると言っていましたが、壊れたか何かで使えないと何の説明もなく、
そのままでした。
送迎時には車から降りず運転席に座ったまま　ありがとうございました　でした。
友達と勘違いなさってますね。。
お金を払って短いハワイ旅行の中でこのツアーを選んだことに後悔しかありません。
人それぞれ感じ方はあると思いますが私は不愉快に感じました。

We had Dan for our guide. On the drive out to the bay he gave us lots of useful information about the local culture. He was upbeat and very knowledgeable. At the bay he was organized and took very good care of us. We had serveral who were snorkeling for the first time and he made them feel very comfortable. As an added bonus he takes pictures of your trip and posts them to FB so you can grab them. No extra charge! Cool! I would highly recommend this excursion

I wanted to go to Hanauma Bay with a different tour company than last time, but it seems that the two plans listed on Veltra are from the same tour company. There is no difference in the guide's content between the two plans (only differences in the included fees). I'm disappointed that the plan names are different but it's the same tour company.
The guide was friendly, but I wonder if it's just me who feels a bit frustrated by how Americanized it is...
There was someone who got seasick. Those who can't swim might feel scared as the waves can pull you in. It requires stamina since you'll be swimming for about an hour.

前回と違ったツアー会社でハナウマ湾に行きたかったのですが、ベルトラに掲載されている２つのプランは同じツアー会社のようです。２プランともガイド内容に差はありません(含まれる料金の違い)。プラン名が違うのに同じツアー会社でがっかり。。
ガイドの方は気さくな感じですが、アメリカナイズされすぎていて少しイライラしてしまうのは私だけなのか…。

My husband, at 66 years old, took on his first snorkeling adventure! I had to persuade him to join, so I read various experiences and decided that this tour was the best choice. It was a great decision. I was worried about my husband, who has nasal issues, when I heard the instruction, "Breathe through your mouth only, not your nose," but thanks to Chieko's excellent teaching, he didn't struggle with breathing and was able to enjoy about an hour of snorkeling without holding back the younger couples. We created wonderful memories with the beautiful sea and the adorable, colorful fish. What is the path to enjoying snorkeling? The path to meeting the fish? Dan guided us along that sea path and helped us meet the fish. I recommend renting a wetsuit as it has many advantages, such as protecting against injuries from coral and helping with buoyancy, as well as keeping warm. This was my first time snorkeling and Dan was a great teacher! He guided me through everything and made sure we were ready before heading out to the waters. I'm so glad that he was our guide..I don't think I would ever be able to do it without him. If you want to learn how to snorkel and see some beautiful fishes and turtles go with Blue Hawaii Divers!

I participated in the afternoon session starting at 12:30. Fortunately, we were the only participants. According to the guide, there were nine participants in the morning session, which seems to be more popular, possibly because it allows for more effective use of time. シュノーケルの時間は1時間程度とのことですが、魚を探して泳いでいたらあっという間に過ぎてしまいました。亀は見つけられませんでしたが、色々な種類の魚を観ることが出来て、楽しかったです。
