As a couple, it was our first time snorkeling and we were inexperienced with overseas travel, but a Japanese instructor came to pick us up in Waikiki. We were able to have fun conversations in the car, which made us feel at ease. Once we arrived at the location, the instructor patiently taught us everything, starting with how to wear the wetsuits.

We were taken to a spot where we could see sea turtles and had the wonderful experience of swimming alongside them! We also encountered beautiful schools of fish in Hawaii, and it was an amazing experience that we couldn't have had on our own! Additionally, the instructor took photos for us throughout the trip, allowing us to capture these memories perfectly, which we greatly appreciated!

Since it was early in the morning, it was still a bit chilly, so we leisurely claimed our spot on the sand and ate the breakfast we brought before going snorkeling.

Meeting at 5:40 AM before sunrise is indeed early, but we were still among the fourth or fifth group to enter the site. Around 10 AM, we had an incredibly lucky surprise when a monk seal suddenly came up on the beach to rest, just about 10 meters from our base. My grandchild had been talking about wanting to see one since before coming to Hawaii, so it was great that we could make that happen by chance. There is a law requiring a distance of over 15 meters from monk seals, so it’s also a good memory that our base had to be moved quickly.

Unexpectedly, there was a wild seal sleeping on the beach, safely protected with cones and ropes to keep humans at a distance, which was impressive. Such a cute sight! While swimming, I encountered beautiful fish and turtles that touched my heart. Even if you're not confident in your swimming skills, the instructors guide you well, and I believe you'll be able to fully enjoy the beauty of Hanauma Bay!

It was difficult for me to make a reservation for Hanauma Bay on my own due to scheduling issues, so I took advantage of this plan that allowed me to have a reservation and enjoy my time at Hanauma Bay freely. I was anxious about my English speaking skills, but there was a guidance sheet in Japanese, and the driver was able to understand our limited English, which made communication enjoyable. The entrance fee was collected by the driver, and a participant from an English-speaking country paid for everyone.

Since it was my first time snorkeling, I borrowed a life jacket. In the early morning, it was a bit chilly, so the life jacket helped keep me warm and was also useful for snorkeling. 自力でハナウマ湾の入場予約を取るには日程の都合で難しく、予約を取っていただける＋自由にハナウマ湾で遊べるこちらのプランを利用させていただきました。
英語のスピーキングに自信がなく不安でしたが、日本語での案内シートがありドライバーの方も私達の拙い英語の意味を汲み取ってくださり楽しくコミュニケーションが取れました。入場料金はドライバーさんが集め参加者の中にいた英語圏の方がまとめて支払ってくださいました。

初のシュノーケリングだったのでライフジャケットも借りました。早朝だと少し肌寒いくらいなのでライフジャケットが防寒になり、シュノーケリングの助けにもなり役立ちました。浅いところでもお魚が泳いでいてフムフムヌクヌクアプアアも見られました！
