My husband and I recently booked the tickets and shuttle to hike Diamond Head as I was reading how you had to have reservations to hike unless you are local. This is a change since the first time I hiked it when you didn’t have to make reservations. We also didn’t rent a car this visit, so the shuttle was perfect as it dropped us off and picked us up at a designated time. We were given tips on the way there as well as instructions how to make the hike more enjoyable. I highly recommend going with this company as you have three times to choose from to be picked up without the dynamics of reserving tickets or driving there or finding parking which is limited. The shuttle takes you as close to the trailhead as possible

There were about 20 participants, and we were the only Japanese. First, we headed to Diamond Head and fished at about four different spots. We were able to catch some fish, which made for great memories. We caught a magnificent fish about 40 centimeters long, and the staff grilled it for us, and it was delicious♪

I was worried about the lack of transportation, but it wasn't a problem. It took about 15 minutes by taxi from our hotel (Waikiki) to get there. On the way back, we walked to the nearby Ward Center to do some shopping, played at the arcade in the Ward Entertainment Center, and also stopped by the Whole Foods Market next door. I called Hanataxi (they speak Japanese) to pick us up from Whole Foods and take us back to the hotel.

We took motion sickness medication beforehand, but before we even left the harbor, the other passengers started getting seasick one after another. It turned into a situation where some passengers were vomiting inside the boat due to motion sickness. The staff tried their best to lift the mood, but the energy among the other members plummeted, and eventually, the kids also started feeling queasy and expressed a desire to go home early. Fortunately, we managed to get some air while returning to port. It might not be advisable to do this on days with strong swells.

・この日は当方以外は全員ネイティブで、説明も全て英語でした。乗馬体験中もインストラクターを中心に、グループごとでの会話を楽しみました。

・山側が朝は寒いので長袖でも良いかもしれません。
・帽子は不要ですが、眩しいのでサングラスはあったほうが良いと思います。
・手綱を素手で触るのに抵抗がある方は、軍手を持っていってもいいかもしれません。
・チップはボックスに入れる形式でした。
・乗馬後はUberでハレイワまで向かい、食事やショッピングを楽しんだ後The Busで帰宅しました。運転をしない方は、行きは時間の読めるUberで行き、帰りはThe Busで行くと少し節約になるのでオススメです。

I had been curious about this activity for a while since it was featured in several TV programs, and everyone who watched it said, "It was fun!" I participated with another adult woman, but as mentioned in previous reviews, the minimum number of participants is "three," so we paid for three people to join. Before we started, I was a bit anxious, but once we got into the canoe, all my worries disappeared. On the day of arrival, I went straight from the airport. Since we had to change into swimsuits for the gathering, I changed in the airport restroom. It's very close to Hilton Waikiki.

We put on life jackets and boarded a small boat to depart. One group at a time was lifted up, and we were in the air for a little over five minutes. The view of Diamond Head and the town was beautiful.

The whole experience lasted about an hour, but be careful as I got sunburned on my thighs because I didn't apply sunscreen there. Also, the boat was small and rocked quite a bit; my friend got very seasick even after taking motion sickness medication, so it might be a good idea to take stronger medicine. Due to the rocking, it's easy to get splashed, so I think it's better to have your smartphone in a waterproof case. By the way, it would be good to check if photos come out well, including selfies, while in the waterproof case, as you can take nice pictures in the air. Mine turned out a bit dark!

You will change into swimsuits again, but you won't get completely soaked; it's just your backside that gets a little wet when you come down!

全体で1時間ほどでしたが、太ももに日焼け止めを塗らずにいたらしっかり焼けたので気をつけてください。また船が小さくかなり揺れて、友人は酔い止めを飲んでいてもかなり酔っていたので、強めの薬を飲むなど対策するといいかもしれません。揺れもあって、水がかかりやすいのでスマホは防水カバーしたほうがいいと思います。ちなみに防水カバーした状態でインカメ含め写真がきれいに映るか確認したほうが、上空でいい写真が撮れるかと思います。私は少し暗い写りになってしまいました！
また水着に着替えますが、がっつり濡れるというよりは、降りてくる時にお尻だけ濡れる程度です！

I loved every second of this experience! Breathtaking views, the horses are so sweet, and you get to see a lot of movie landmarks, including but not limited to Godzilla’s footprints, 50 first dates movie spot and a jurassic park gates! The only thing I wish is that you could get closer to some of the jurassic park monuments.

if that’s your main goal, for this, try the four wheelers or the bus. Regardless, my top recommendation would still be the horseback riding!

We participated as a family of five. The staff were all very kind, and we were able to enjoy ourselves with peace of mind. The view from the top of the mountain was also amazing.

However, on that day, there were strong winds and sudden rain, making it extremely cold at times. If you're participating at the end of February when the weather looks bad, I definitely recommend bringing long pants and a light jacket. They start sliding down regardless of a little rain (laughs) (sweat).

It seemed like there was plenty of time built into the schedule, so it didn't feel like I was late at all. The bus was spacious and comfortable, and I dozed off for a bit, only to find that we arrived in no time. Once we got to the location, the staff provided guidance to everyone, so there was no chance of getting lost. I had a horseback riding experience, and everyone was kind, explaining things slowly and thoroughly. Surprisingly, the horses seemed very experienced, and it felt like I was mostly being led by them. Thanks to that, I was able to enjoy the magnificent scenery of forests, mountains, and the ocean. After that, we stored our luggage in lockers and moved to each attraction booth individually. We chose the horseback riding course, so we headed there. This time, there were six people on the tour. After learning how to operate the horse through a simple Japanese video, we quickly got on the horses and started. We completely control the horse ourselves, but a guide is next to us, which is very reassuring. I don't think there are many opportunities to ride horses for two hours in Japan, so this is an amazing experience! My wife also said it was the most enjoyable part of our trip to Hawaii.
