We had the best time. Brought our grandkids ages 10 and 12 and they were entertained the entire time. I highly recommend this luau. The food was good much variety. It was a little chilly so bring a sweater. They had activities in the beginning also.

There is a pickup service from the center of Waikiki, and it takes about 30 minutes to board. Many foreigners participated, and the explanations after departure were primarily in English, but it wasn't a problem at all. About 20 to 30 minutes after departure, we were able to see whales around the area with Diamond Head in front of us. They were small, but we could see them spouting water multiple times and jumping, making the time fly by.

Since it’s a large boat, I think you don’t have to worry too much about it rocking, but it was cold inside the boat, so I recommend bringing a jacket!

ワイキキの中心部からの送迎ありで30分ほどで乗船。外国の方も多く参加されており、出発後の説明などは基本英語でしたが、困ることはなかったです。出発後20分から30分ほどでダイアモンドヘッドを正面に見渡すあたりでクジラを見ることができました。小さめでしたが、何度も潮を吹く様子やジャンプする姿など見ることができ、あっという間の時間でした。

大きな船なので揺れなどはそこまで心配しなくて良いかと思いますが、船内は寒かったので上着を持っていかれる事をお勧めします！

There were eight participants, including us (two people). The others were foreigners. The crew consisted of two young Western men. During the cruise, the crew provided explanations, but only in English. I read in reviews that there were hammocks on the boat where you could lie down, but we couldn't use them due to a lack of explanation. What a shame! On the day of the cruise, there was wind, and we moved without using the engine. Because of that, it was very quiet and nice. Just before getting off the boat, the crew mentioned to give tips, and everyone put them in a container. It might be worth trying at least once.

The upper deck was great for taking pictures. We started off with a charcuterie board that had tasty cheeses and fruit. The second course included lobster over a beet salad with a nice puree. My only reservation was the meat which was overcooked in my opinion, but to be fair, I'm sure many people prefer a medium-well filet. Taking pictures in between courses was a huge plus and didn't make us feel confined to the table. Overall, I would recommend this cruise to anyone looking for a good time.

The Japanese staff explained everything kindly and thoroughly, which was reassuring. The sea in March is a bit cold, so it's better to have a warm cover-up since you'll be taking the bus back in your swimsuit.

3月の海は少し冷たく、水着のままで帰りのバスに乗るので、あったかい羽織物ある方がよいです。

Great experience from pick up to a relaxing day at the beach enjoying Hawaii’s beautiful landscapes!!
Capt Bob and his crew were excellent.

The initial explanation was like a menu, and there was a Japanese translation guide available. The announcements and commentary on the ship were in English only. I used a translation app to somewhat understand. There were many customers, both Japanese and foreign. I couldn't see clearly up close, but from a distance, I could see the spouting and the back! Above all, the wind was really strong and cold; motion sickness medication is a must! There was an announcement to consult the tour guide if you feel unwell. I'm glad it didn't rain, and the view of Diamond Head from the sea was very beautiful.

船内のアナウンス、実況は英語のみです。翻訳アプリを自分で使ってなんとなく分かる感じ。
お客さんは日本人も外国人も沢山いました。
近くではっきりとは見えなかったけど遠目で潮吹きと背中が見えました！
何より風がすごい強くて寒かったです、酔い止めは必須です！体調悪くなったら添乗員に相談してくださいとアナウンスありました。
雨が降らなくて良かった、海からのダイアモンドヘッドもとても綺麗でした。

I was inspired to participate after seeing a former professional baseball player use this service on a TV program during his trip to Hawaii.

I was picked up at the hotel and arrived at the port while enjoying the view of the steep cliffs on the way to Kaneohe Bay. After using the restroom next to the parking lot, I took off my shoes and boarded barefoot.

We moved while observing heart-shaped coral reefs and honu, anchoring near the activity boat displaying the international A flag. Due to the spring tide, the morning tour had lower tides, but it was fully booked. The water depth was about 90 cm. Although the sun was out, the waves and current from the offshore wind felt strong.

I snorkeled with my wife and was able to see the coral, honu, and fish beautifully. Stand-up paddling (SUP) was more challenging than I expected.

On the boat, I enjoyed coffee, apples, and spam while chatting with a female staff member about her trip to Japan, and before I knew it, it was time to return to the port. She pointed out my eye color and told me I have hazel eyes, which led to an interesting discussion about mixed genetics. (We also laughed about what the lesson from Urashima Taro might be.)

After boarding the bus, I realized I couldn't find the belt where I had put my cash. I searched with a staff member who also had hazel eyes named Franky. I was about to give up when I saw Franky desperately searching even in the restroom trash can, and then I noticed something at my neck... Sorry, it was there all along.

We arrived safely at the hotel. Thank you so much!!!

I wanted to try the malasadas from Leonard's Bakery, which the shuttle driver highly recommended, but there wasn't enough time to stop.

I recommend everyone bring marine shoes, a waterproof case for your smartphone, and a hoodie.

TV番組で元プロ野球選手が、ハワイに行った際に利用したのを観たのが参加するきっかけとなりました。
ホテルでピックアップされ、カネオヘ湾に向かう途中の急峻な崖を観ながら港に到着。駐車場脇のレストルームで用を足し、シューズを脱いで裸足で乗船。
ハートマークの珊瑚礁、ホヌを観ながら移動、国際A旗が掲げられているアクティビティー船近くに錨泊。
　大潮で条件としては朝のツアーの方が、潮が引いていたのですが、予約が埋まっていました。水深90CMくらいかな。日光は出ていましたが、沖からの風で波、潮の流れがきつい様に感じました。
　妻と一緒にシュノーケリング。珊瑚、ホヌ、魚を綺麗に観られました。
SUP　思った以上に立ってパドリングするのは難しかったです。
　船の上でコーヒー、りんご、スパムを食べ女性スタッフと、日本に旅行しに行った話しをしていたら、あっといううまに帰港の時間。瞳の色に着目され自分がヘーゼルだと教えてもらい、遺伝子がミックスされる事が面白いという思考が有るのを教えてもらいました。（あと、浦島太郎の教訓はなんだろうって事も笑）
　バスに乗車後キャッシュを入れたベルトが見当たらない事に気づき、その女性スタッフと同じヘーゼルの瞳を持つ　FRANKYと一緒に探してもらいました。見つからないので、諦め掛けていましたがFRANKYがトイレのゴミ箱まで開け必死に探している姿をみたとき、何気に自分の首元に視線が、、、、、ごめんなさい。有りました。
事なき得て無事ホテル着。 本当にありがとう！！！

　シャトルの運転手さん激押しのレナーズべーカリーのマラサダ食べたかったけど、寄る時間無かったのね。

The tour had breathtaking views, and both our guide Zoe and the boat drivers were incredibly kind, making the experience absolutely worth it.

We had an Absolute Wonderful Experience.. We had a group of 8 Family members.
We all Really Learned a lot about the culture.
Had the entire day package.
Thanks to Each and Every One who work to give us such an Outstanding Day. Ending with a Magnificent Breath of Life Performance.

It was no one’s fault that the day we went was windy and they had to turn the boat around after they said “this is where most whales hang around.” We got to see a blow hole and one fluke which was fun but it was at the very end of our trip so we didn’t get to stay and watch the group of whales any further. The captain did delay our return 15 minutes to see the whale that we did see which was very nice! Overall, it was no one’s fault that the weather wasn’t the best but to me it felt like a waste of my time and money and I was disappointed in the end

Check-in is easy to find next to the anchored Star Honolulu. A large ship welcomes you with the captain as you board. After boarding, everyone waits in seats on the first floor and listens to an explanation from a whale expert for about 15 minutes after departure. If you are seated before departure, you can purchase drinks, snacks, and bagels for a fee. There are important explanations about the size of the whales and how to identify their location by relating it to the positions of the clock hands. Once the explanation is finished, everyone moves to their preferred floor. Whales can be seen very well from any deck. I was able to see the whales' spouts and tails up close, and most importantly, the captain takes the time to show the whales to the children when they are spotted. Thanks to this, we were able to see the whales multiple times, and the kids were very satisfied. It became a wonderful memory.

チェックインは停船しているスターホノルル号の隣でわかりやすい場所でできます。大きな船にキャプテンが出迎えてくれて乗り込みます。乗船後全員一階の席で待機し、出航後15分くらいはくじら専門家の方の説明を聞きます。出航前から着席すると、ドリンクやスナック、ベーグル等有料購入できます。鯨の大きさなどの説明や、鯨がいる場所を時計の針に見立てて何時方向に見えると乗客に伝えること等の重要な説明があります。説明が終わると一斉に好きなfloorへ移動します。どの階でもとても良く鯨が見えました。思っていたよりも近くで鯨の潮吹きや尻尾をはっきり見ることができ、何よりも、しっかり子供も見れるように鯨を発見するとキャプテンは時間をかけて見せてくれます。そのおかげで何度も鯨を見る事ができて子供も大満足でした。とても良い思い出になりました。

I went right around Valentine's Day. The crew explained various things in Japanese. The heart-shaped coral made me feel very happy! When I go to Hawaii, I will definitely visit Sandbar Captain Bruce's Paradise again! It's the best every time!

It took a bit to get to the top of the building but it was worth it. We got there and they were very helpful. Greeted up with a lei and took us to our table. Gave us our drink order (non alcoholic) and took our picture. The line up of food was quite amazing! All kinds of food to please everyone's liking. They also had dessert. It rained pretty good so they were able to cover the side so we didn't get wet. After dessert we we inside to watch the Rock a hula. And it was awesome. Elvis and Michael Jackson preformed along with the amazing hula dancers. It ended with an amazing fire show! It was well worth it! Go see it

This was a full day activity. We stared on the canoe amd ended the one end. Walked to each village. At each village they are very informative on their culture. They have activities you can participate in or just watch their 15-20 min skits. The journey movies was quite amazing but moves a lot, but worth it. The buffet was absolutely the best I've ever been to! So much food to choose from. Plus there was live entertainment. We also stayed for the breath of life show, which was spectacular. Goosebumps for sure.

The dance and singing were of high quality and enjoyable. You can also enjoy meals and entertainment before the show. The impersonators of Elvis and Michael were so dedicated to their roles that it didn't feel cheap at all. I recommend going at least once.

ダンスも歌もクオリティが高く楽しめました。ショウの前の食事やエンターテイメントも楽しめます。エルビスとマイケルのそっくりさんもなりきり方が徹底しているので安っぽさありませんでした。一度は行ってみることをお勧めします。

The food was just average. Since it's a buffet, you can eat as much as you want. A person came around playing the ukulele at each table, but it seemed like they were looking for tips, so feel free to decline if you don't want to give one. Dining outdoors had its challenges due to the season and weather, and it was a bit cold. We got VIP seats for the show, but I think you can enjoy it from the regular seats as well. The impersonations of Elvis and Michael Jackson seemed to be of high quality.

食事の味はまぁ普通です。ビュッフェなので満足するまで食べられます。
各席を回ってウクレレを弾いてくれる方が回って来ましたがチップ狙いのようなので不要であれば断ってください。
野外での食事で季節、天候の問題もあり多少寒かったです。
ショーはVIP席をとりましたが、通常の席でも楽しめると思います。
エルビスやマイケル・ジャクソンのモノマネですがレベルは高いようです。

A disclaimer agreement is sent via email in English beforehand, so all participants need to check it and return it. I used Google Lens to roughly translate it, checked it, and replied, but since it was a boat activity, it was a long document.

Although it was more expensive than other tours, it was nice that we could embark without moving. However, the reception location was hard to find, and the meeting place was also unclear. Although it was supposed to start at 1 PM, we were told it would be from 1 to 8 PM on the day, which made it feel like we were starting off late. (The port call was around 3:30 PM.)

Unfortunately, on the day I participated, we didn’t see any whales or dolphins, just a turtle floating by, and it turned out to be more of a cruise around Diamond and other scenic spots. It seemed like they really tried hard to find something since they are in the business. In such cases, you will receive a reboarding ticket when you disembark. If you wish, you can also make a reservation for the next day on your way back.

I couldn’t ask in detail since I’m not fluent in English, but I was told that the ticket can be used the following year or anytime after. Just let them know over the phone that you have the reboarding ticket to make a reservation. (I believe they also mentioned that you could transfer to other sunset cruises. It seems that if it’s a more expensive tour, there might be a difference in cost.)

The reboarding ticket has the number of participants written on it, and I was told that it cannot be split into individual tickets for two people to use separately. So, it might be better not to set the reboarding for the last day of your trip!

The explanation on the boat right after boarding was, of course, in native-speed English, and the safety instructions were quite long. Since I’m not fluent in English, I didn’t understand it well, which made me a bit cautious about safety.

As for moving around the boat, there are open spaces at the front and back without a roof, seating inside, and some tables. There is a restroom in the starboard lower deck. There’s also a bar counter inside the boat. Free chips and snacks are available on the tables inside. If you sit outside, the staff will come to take your drink orders. Free soft drinks include pineapple, guava, Sprite, Coca-Cola, and water. You can have as many as you want for free, but tips are appreciated.

In the end, we didn’t see any whales, but since you can board again if you don’t see any, it might be nice for those with time to enjoy multiple cruises. By the way, when I asked if there were whales yesterday, they said there were. Personally, I think the afternoon departure, unlike other tours, might increase the chances of seeing them.

The boat rocked quite a bit. It’s dangerous to move around while it’s moving, so it’s best to hold onto the handrails and go slowly. Those who are sensitive might get seasick. The sun was shining brightly, so be careful of sunburn. Since it rocked a lot and I didn’t move around, I couldn’t take many pictures of the boat.

他のツアーより割高だが、移動せずに出航できてよかった。ただし、受付の場所がわかりにくく、集合場所もよくわからず、13時からであるが当日で13－20と言われ、はいはい遅れるのね・・・というスタートでした。（寄港は15：30くらい）

また、仕方ないですが、参加した日は鯨はみられませんでして、イルカもみられず、ちらっと亀が浮いているだけで、ダイヤモンドやその他景色をクルージングしたような形になりました。向こうも商売なので、かなり粘って探してくれたように感じました。
そういう場合は、降りる際に、再乗船できるチケットをいただけます。希望すれば帰りにそのまま翌日の予約もできます。

英語が堪能でないので詳しくは聞けませんでしたが、翌年でもそのあとでも、ずっと使えるよ。電話でその再乗船券を持っていることを伝えて予約してね。とのことでした。（他のサンセットクルーズなどにも振り替えができると説明していたと思われます。より高いツアーであれば差額が必要っぽい）
再乗船のための券が、人数がかかれているものであり、二人別々に使うように一名ずつのチケットに分割することはできないと言われましたので、再利用はその旅行内にできるように、最終日に設定しない方がいいのかもしれません！

乗船した後すぐの船の上での説明は、当然ネイティブスピードの英語での注意事項説明などが、結構長くありまして、英語が堪能でないのでよくわかっておりませんでしたので、安全上ちょっと怪しげだったので気をつけました。

船上の動き方としては、屋根がない前と後ろのスペースと、船内に座れるところ、一部テーブルがあり、船内右舷地下にトイレがあります。船内にバーカウンターもあります。船内のテーブルには無料のチップスなどが置いてあります。外に座っていると、係の方がドリンクのオーダーを取りに来てくれます。無料のソフトドリンクは、パイナップル、グアバ、スプライト、コカコーラ、水などがあります。何杯でも無料ですがチップをちょうだいね。のシステムのようでした。

結果、鯨はみられませんでしたが、みられないとまた船に乗れるので、時間がある方にとっては、何度もクルージングできていいかもしれません。ちなみに昨日は鯨はいたか？と聞いてみたら、いたよー。ということでした。個人的には他のツアーと違っての午後出発なので、時間帯的にみられる可能性が高い低いあるかもなと思ったりしています。

船、結構揺れました。動いている途中の移動は危険なので手すり捕まってゆっくりがよさそうです。弱い人は酔うかもです。日光さんさんとしていて、日焼け危険です。揺れが大きくて移動しなかったので、船の写真はあまりとれませんでした。

→ They frequently checked if we were warm enough and were gentle with the children.
• There is a good selection of drinks and snacks.
→ There are warm beverages like tea and cocoa, as well as juice and water.
Spam rice balls are limited to one per person, but you can eat as many snacks as you like.
• The transfer to the sandbar is done by a small boat with a limited number of people.
→ It depends on the number of participants, but this time everyone was Japanese.
• There are plenty of items like floaties available.
→ There were large floaties and floatie boats that children could enjoy.
There was also a boat with a clear bottom to see underwater, so even small children could enjoy snorkeling.
They also lend wet suits when it's cold.
• The bus driver for the transfers was kind.
→ Although he couldn't speak Japanese, he made an effort to communicate.

**Negative Points**
• The restroom is small and not suitable for changing.
→ There is a restroom at the port, but there is a long line, so those with transfers are likely to be late and return wet.

The day we participated, it was quite cold with light rain and a north wind, but we were still able to enjoy ourselves.
In a previous tour, we departed on a large boat with many people from various countries, and after the explanation, it felt like we were free to do as we pleased! However, this time, since it was a smaller group, it was great that we could quickly confirm anything we didn't understand.
Even in bad weather, the staff made various suggestions to ensure our family could enjoy the experience, which greatly increased our satisfaction.

For those participating in a sandbar tour for the first time, I think it would be reassuring to have Japanese-speaking staff and a small group.

Although the price is higher compared to other tours, it was a tour that made me want to participate again.

　　小さな子でもシュノーケリングを楽しめる。
　　寒い時はウエットスーツも貸してくれる。

　→日本語が話せない方だったが一緒懸命
　　コミュニケーションを取ってくれた。

※残念だった点※
•トイレが小さく着替えられない
　→港にトイレがあるがめちゃくちゃ並ぶので
　　送迎がある方は時間に間に合わず
　　濡れたまま帰る確率が高い。

参加した日は小雨が降り北風が吹いてかなり寒いという
悪天候の日だったが楽しむことができた。
以前参加したツアーは大きな船で色んな国の方と
大勢で出発するため、説明を聞いたら後はご自由に！
という感じだったが、今回は少人数だったため
分からないことがあればすぐに確認できるのが良かった。
悪天候の中でも私達家族全員が楽しめるように
色々提案してくれたりして満足度は高かった。


初めてサンドバーに参加される方は
日本語スタッフが居て少人数なので
安心して参加できるのでは無いかと思う。

他のツアーに比べて金額は高いけれど
また参加したいと思えるツアーだった。

This was an awesome tour with lunch included, our tour guide Ernie was incredibly knowledgeable and made the tour very pleasant and educating! Very glad we selected this tour, and also very glad we got a great tour guide.

Kualoa Ranch Movie Location Tour
It was worth going; visiting six movie and drama filming locations was fun. I opted for a tour with transportation included. The price was quite high, but it included a Kaneohe Bay cruise.
The tour took plenty of time, and the lunch buffet was excellent.
The tour of the filming locations for Jurassic Park and the Ocean Voyage tour were all guided in English, and I’m really glad I participated.

The wind was blowing really hard, so it was a bit challenging, but seeing the whales made everything forgivable. I was worried about seasickness, but the boat was large and safe, so it was very comfortable. If it had been a small boat, it would have been much harder in the big waves.

Nice environment and friendly staff. Show was brief and nothing like it has been advertised for. Food in multiple varieties but so crowded and needs to be more organized

Since it was an English driver plan, there were more foreigners than Japanese participants, and all explanations were in English both on the bus and after arriving at Hanauma Bay. Although I barely understood English, I was able to confirm the final pickup location and time, so there were no issues. The driver was different for the outbound and return trips.

Perhaps because of the early pickup, we were likely the first to enter Hanauma Bay. Our return pickup was at 12:30 PM, so we had about five hours of free time at the beach after entering. It was nice that the weather was clear on the day we participated, but I think it would be quite cold if the weather were bad, especially after snorkeling.

I brought snacks with me, but there was a snack corner at the entrance, and when I went to buy more, I found out they only accepted card payments, so I ended up not being able to buy souvenirs or additional snacks. I brought cash for the entrance fee, but I was surprised to find that other places only accepted cards, so it would have been helpful to have that information listed in the items to bring.

Also, the snorkeling goggles that came with the rental kept coming off easily, so that was a downside, which is why I give it four stars. Hanauma Bay was wonderful, with plenty of colorful fish, and I had a lovely half-day there.

英語ドライバーのプランでしたので、参加の方も日本人より外国人の方が多くバスの中で説明も、ハナウマベイに着いてからも英語のみです
英語ほぼわからない私でしたが、最後のピックアップ場所と時間さえ確認できたので問題はありませんでした。運転手さんが行きと帰りで違います
早い時間のお迎えだったからか多分1番にハナウマベイに入れました
帰りのピックアップが12時30分でしたので入場してからしっかり５時間くらいビーチでのフリータイムがありました
私たちが参加した日は晴れていたのでよかったですが、もしも天気が悪い場合はシュノーケルしたあとなどはとても寒いと思います
食べ物などはお菓子など持参していったのですが入場口にスナックコーナーがあったので追加で買いに行ったら、カード決済のみだったため結局お土産も追加のスナックも買えませんでした
入場料は現金でもっていったのですが、まさかの他がカードのみとは知らなかったのでそのあたり持ち物に記載があるとありがたかったです
あとレンタルでついていたシュノーケルのゴーグルがすぐ取れてしまうものだったのでそこだけマイナスの☆4です
ハナウマベイやっぱり色とりどりの魚がたくさんいて素敵な半日が過ごせました

I was able to see several sea turtles swimming while on a cruiser to the sandbar. The guide made it easy to spot them. During snorkeling, I was moved when the guide pointed out sea turtles hiding among the rocks. The Japanese crew was very kind. However, in February, the weather wasn't very good and the wind was strong, so it was cold. I had a rash guard, but the water was cold, and the female participants were shivering in the boat. I think it would have been great if they had wetsuits available for rent.

日本語クルーさんとても親切でした。
ただ2月で天気も余り良くなく風もきつかったので寒かった。
ラッシュガードを持っていたけど水は冷たく女性の参加者は舟で震えていた。
ウエットスーツの貸し出しがあればよかったと思う。

It started with the staff draping leis on us, followed by a buffet-style dinner while enjoying Mai Tais! After a practice corner for hula dancing, it was finally time for the dinner show! There were performances typical of Hawaii, as well as impersonators of Elvis Presley and Michael Jackson... it was quite a packed experience. It might be similar to the shows you see in Las Vegas. I had a great time on my last night in Honolulu.

係の方からレイを掛けてもらうところから始まり、マイ・タイを飲んだりしながらのビュッフェスタイルのディナー！
フラダンスの練習コーナーもあったりしたあとは、いよいよディナーショー！
ハワイらしいショーもあったり、エルビス・プレスリーやマイケル・ジャクソンのそっくりさんのショーもあったり…と盛り沢山な感じでした。
ラスベガスなんかで見るショーに似てるかも…。

It was quite windy, but the boat was large and stable, so I was able to enjoy the experience without getting seasick. I appreciated how the crew boosted everyone's spirits and their serious focus on searching for whales.

In the first half of the cruise, no whales appeared, and I was starting to lose hope, but in the second half, we encountered whales multiple times, and it was an amazing experience to see them spouting water and even their tails.

I also used the shuttle bus service, but since various tour pickup buses arrive at the same time, I showed my voucher to the staff to confirm which bus was for my tour. I think it would be clearer if the Veltra logo was displayed.

かなりの強風でしたが、船が大きいので安定していて、船酔いすることなく楽しめました。クルーの皆さんが気分を盛り上げてくれたり、真剣に海を見つめてクジラを探す姿に好感がもてました。
クルーズ前半はまったくクジラが現れず諦めかけていましたが、後半で何度もクジラに遭遇し、潮をふいたり、尾びれまで見ることができて最高の体験になりました。
バスの送迎も利用しましたが、同じ時間帯に色々なツアーのピックアップバスが来るので、自分のツアーがどのバスなのかスタッフの方にバウチャーを見せて確認しました。
ベルトラのロゴ等が表示されているとよりわかりやすいと思います。

I participated in the luau in November 2023. The fire dance performance was truly spectacular! The powerful dance and unique techniques, along with a large number of male dancers handling fire, made for a very impressive luau!

The location is in the Kapolei area, a bit away from Waikiki, and the luau is held on the grounds of the theme park "Wet 'n' Wild." I visited using a rental car, but there are also paid shuttles available from Waikiki, so if you're feeling uncertain, using the shuttle might be a good option.

The luau starts around the time Wet 'n' Wild closes. Staff dressed in Hawaiian attire greet you at the entrance and place a lei around your neck. Along the way to the venue, you can take commemorative photos before entering the open-air venue. The seating consists of plastic chairs, but they are neatly arranged, and a staff member guides you to your assigned seat.

During the bright hours before all the guests arrive, you can experience Hawaiian culture. I tried making a crown using coconut leaves. It might be fun for families with elementary school children or groups to participate in. There was also a traditional fire-starting demonstration on stage. You can enjoy a friendly atmosphere while waiting for the show to start.

Once all the guests have arrived, the show begins. First, there is a welcome performance by strong male dancers, followed by the meal time. The meal is served buffet-style, and you take food in the order you are seated. Since there were many large guests from the mainland, some menu items were gone by the time I went for seconds... It might be a good idea to take enough food during the first serving.

The staff also provides drinks with the meal. I refrained from alcohol since I was driving, but there are menu items like Mai Tai cocktails that you can only enjoy in Hawaii! If you're coming with a shuttle or with family, I recommend enjoying the exclusive drinks.

After enjoying a hearty meal, it’s finally time for the dance show. By the time the show starts, the sun has set, and the torches on stage create an atmospheric setting. The audience also starts to get excited. The dance show features about eight performers, showcasing not only hula but also Tahitian dance and moody performances, all of which are very engaging.

The highlight of this luau is undoubtedly the fire dance! The number of performers, the intensity, and the main dancer's skills combined to create an overwhelming performance. It ended with a standing ovation and loud applause. If you want to enjoy a show full of excitement, this is definitely a luau you should participate in!

2023年11月に参加させていただきました。1にも2にもファイヤーダンスが圧巻のパフォーマンス！大迫力のダンスと他に類を見ないような技術の数々、火を扱う男性ダンサーの数も多く、非常に見応えたっぷりのルアウでした！

場所は少々ワイキキから離れたカポレイ地区、テーマパーク「ウェット＆ワイルド」の敷地内で実施されているルアウです。私はレンタカーを使って訪問しましたが、ワイキキから有料送迎も出ているので不安な方は送迎利用も良いかもしれません。

ルアウの開始時間はウェット＆ワイルドの閉園と近い時間。入口でハワイアンの装いをしたスタッフさんたちが出迎え、1人ずつレイを首にかけててくれます。会場までの道中で記念写真を撮っていただき、オープンエアの会場へ。座席はプラスチックのイスですが、きれいに整頓されており、自分の指定席にスタッフさんが案内してくれました。

お客さんが全員揃うまでの明るい時間帯はハワイアン文化の体験ができます。私はココナッツの葉っぱを使った冠作りに挑戦。小学生連れのご家族やグループで楽しんでみても良いかもしれません。ステージの上では昔ながらの火起こし体験も実施されていました。ショー開始までの時間、和気あいあいとした雰囲気を満喫することができます。

会場にお客さんが揃った頃からショーの開始です。まずは屈強な男性陣によるウェルカムパフォーマンスがあり、そこからお食事タイムへ。食事はブッフェ形式で席に座っている順番に取り分けていく流れです。大柄なアメリカ本土のお客さんが多かったせいか、おかわりを取りに行った頃にはなくなっているメニューもいくつか…1回目のとりわけでしっかりと食べる分は取っておくと良いかもしれませんね。

お食事と共にスタッフさんがドリンクを提供してくれます。私は運転があったのでアルコールは控えましたが、マイタイカクテル等、ハワイでしか飲めないメニューも！送迎つきで来られている方やご家族で来ている場合は、限定ドリンクを楽しむのもお勧めです。

お腹いっぱいまでお食事を楽しんだ後は、いよいよダンスショータイムになります。ショー開始の頃には日も沈んで夜も更けており、ステージ上の松明が世界感を演出。会場に合わせて、客席も盛り上がってきます。ダンスショーは男女8名程度の構成で、フラダンスはもちろん、タヒチアンダンスやムーディーなダンス等、見応えたっぷりの演目が続きます。

このルアウの見どころはなんといってもファイヤーダンス！人数、迫力、メインダンサーの技術など、総合して圧倒的なパフォーマンスでした。最後はスタンディングオベーションで大拍手喝采。とにかく迫力満点のショーを楽しみたい方には、是非参加いただきたいルアウショーでした！

I had been curious about the "Waikiki Starlight Luau" for a while, and this time I enjoyed it luxuriously from the Diamond Premium seats.

The venue is located within the Hilton Hawaiian Village, in a building adjacent to the Grand Waikikian. It's very close to the main entrance of the Hawaiian Village, so if you're feeling unsure, just head towards the entrance, and you should see the Starlight Luau sign nearby. I was a bit nervous about finding the venue since it was my first time attending, but there were plenty of signs, so I was able to arrive without getting lost.

The event was set to start at 4:45 PM, so I took my time, but by the time I arrived around 4:35 PM, there was already a long line! The seating is on a first-come, first-served basis, so I recommend arriving a bit early if you're in the Golden Seats. With the Diamond Premium seats, you can enter before the Golden Seats and are guaranteed seats close to the stage, so you don't have to rush too much to secure a good spot.

The weather was beautifully sunny, typical of Hawaii! When the venue first opened, I could enjoy the pleasant blue sky, the Hilton buildings, and a view of Waikiki beach. Being able to enjoy the time from daylight to night is one of the unique pleasures of this luau.

Once inside, I received a lei greeting and took a commemorative photo, then headed to my seat with a Mai Tai in hand! All the seating is communal, so I chatted with guests from the mainland who were sitting nearby while enjoying the welcome music and hula dance on stage.

After a while, when all the guests in the Golden Seats had entered, the showmaster made the opening announcement. First, it was time for dinner, served buffet-style with music. Guests from the Diamond Premium seats lined up first to serve themselves. The quality of the food was exceptional. Everything, from the meat to the bread and salad, was delicious, and I found myself going back for seconds of the mini malasadas and roast beef. It's great to be able to get plenty of vegetables through the salad, especially since they can be lacking during a stay in Hawaii.

You can also order alcoholic drinks with drink tickets, but be prepared to show an ID. Many Japanese people often look younger than those from the mainland, so it's a good idea to keep a copy of your passport handy. Additionally, many staff members circulate around the tables, so if you need help, they are quick to assist. It was nice when they approached me with friendly questions like, "Are you having fun?" which made me feel at ease.

After finishing the meal and as dusk approached, the dance show began. In my session, six dancers performed various tropical dances. The beauty of the women's hula dance was breathtaking. The Tahitian dance, which is not something I usually see, was also powerful and very interesting. During the show, there was a scene celebrating an anniversary, and the atmosphere of everyone enjoying the luau was delightful. Many children from the mainland were participating, and it was adorable to see them dancing with their mothers!

The finale of the dance show featured a fire dance by strong male dancers! The atmosphere became intense as preparations began, and men with torches appeared on the dark stage. Having seen several fire dances in my line of work, I can say that the dancers at the Starlight Luau had impressive techniques! Their performances, including fire manipulation and combinations with each other, created a captivating show that kept my eyes glued to the stage. It was a fantastic performance that was fitting for the grand finale. I was applauding enthusiastically alongside the American guest next to me.

Another great point is the easy access from the center of Waikiki compared to other luaus. If you have time, it might be nice to stroll around the Hilton Waikiki Village before the show. There are plenty of shopping, dining, and café options within the Hilton Waikiki Village to enjoy for a while.

以前から気になっていた「ワイキキ・スターライト・ルアウ」。今回は贅沢にダイヤモンドプレミアシートで楽しませていただきました。

会場はヒルトンハワイアンビレッジ内、グランドワイキキアンに併設した建物です。ハワイアンビレッジのメインエントランスからすぐ近くですので、不安な方はひとまずハワイアンビレッジのエントランスに向かえば、近くにスターライトルアウの看板が見えるはずです。初めての参加で、会場探しからドキドキしましたが、看板の数も多いので迷うことなく会場まで到着することができました。

16:45から会場とのことでゆっくりしていましたが、私が到着した16:35頃には既に長い列が…！並んだ順に好きな席に座っていくスタイルなので、特にゴールデンシートでご参加の方は少し早めに到着しておくことがお勧めです。ダイヤモンドプレミアムシートの場合は、ゴールデンシートより先に入場ができる他、ステージ間近の席が確約されているので、急ぎすぎなくても良い席を確保できそうでした。

当日はハワイらしい快晴！開場したばかりの頃は気持ちの良い青空とヒルトンの建物群、ワイキキの海も見渡すことができました。明るい時間帯から夜までの時間を楽しめるのは、このルアウならではの醍醐味ですね。

会場に入ってレイグレイーティングと記念撮影をいただき、その後はマイタイを手に持って自席へ！全ての席が相席ですので、近くに座ったアメリカ本土からのお客さんとも会話をしながら、ステージでのウェルカム演奏やフラダンスを楽しみました。

しばらくたってゴールデンシートのお客様も全員が入場した頃から、いよいよショーマスターより開会のアナウンス。まずは音楽とともにお食事タイム、ビュッフェスタイルです。ダイヤモンドプレミアムシートのゲストから順番に並んで取り分けていきます。お食事のクオリティはさすがの一言。お肉もパンもサラダも全て美味しく、ついついミニマラサダやローストビーフをおかわりしてしまう程でした。ハワイ滞在中に不足しがちなお野菜もサラダでたっぷり摂れるのは嬉しいポイントですね。

食事に合わせドリンクチケットでアルコールも頼むことができますが、IDカードの提示を求められることも。。日本人は米国本土の方より若く見える人も多いので、パスポートのコピー等はすぐ出せる場所に持っていると安心です。
また、たくさんのスタッフがテーブルを回ってくれていますので、困ったことはすぐにサポートしてくれます。「楽しんでる？」という風に、向こうから親しげに話しかけてくれることも、気持ちが和らぎ、ありがたいとこでした。

一通りお食事が終わり、夕暮れも進んだころから、ダンスショーが開幕です。私の回では、男女合計6名のダンサーさんにて、様々な南国のダンスを披露してくださいました。特に女性のフラダンスは息を飲む美しさ。普段馴染の少ないタヒチアンダンスも迫力がありとても興味深かったです。
ショーの途中には、アニバーサリーを祝うシーンもあり、会場全体でルアウの時間を満喫している空気が心地よかったです。米国本土から参加しているゲストの子供たちも多く、お母さんたちと一緒にダンスを頑張っている姿は可愛かった～！

直前からものものしい雰囲気で準備が始まり、暗いステージに松明を持った男性たちが登場します。仕事柄これまでもファイヤーダンスはいくつか見てきましたが、スターライトルアウのダンサーさんたちはテクニックが見事！火を舐めるようなパフォーマンス、ダンサー同士のコンビネーション技など、目を離せないショーが繰り広げられ、見入ってしまいました。
ショーの締めくくりにふさわしい素晴らしい演目です。私も隣の米国人と一緒に拍手喝さいでした。

他のルアウに比べて、ワイキキ中心地からアクセスが良いことも嬉しいポイントですね。
時間のある方は、ショーの前にヒルトンワイキキビレッジ内を散策してみるのも良いかもしれません。ショッピングやレストラン、カフェ巡りなどヒルトンワイキキビレッジだけでもしばらく楽しめる施設があります。

なお、全行程が英語で案内されていきますが、丁寧なスタッフたちが親身にサポートしてくれます。またダンスショー自体は言葉を超えたパフォーマンスですので、英語が苦手な方でも十分楽しめるはず！
（一部ショーマスターの話す冗談など、英語ネイティブでないと難しい内容もありましたが、ほとんど不自由は感じませんでした。）

ハワイの風を感じながら参加できること、ヒルトンさんならではのクオリティ、ホスピタリティにも溢れたショーケースでした。
