My wife and I celebrated my 66th birthday on April 1st on board the Navatek 1. We had a great time and would do it again.

I participated with lunch and transportation included. The lunch was okay. For the transportation, I realized it’s better to speak up when you see a bus that looks like it belongs to the tour, rather than just waiting at the pickup spot. This applies not only to this tour but also to others.

It seemed fine to be picked up at the hotel and to stay at Aloha Tower on the way back (since the number of people going and returning was different).

Now, there were quite a few people on board, and I thought we probably wouldn’t see any whales. So, I was in a complete state of giving up, just looking at the sea while saying, “I heard they give you a ticket to ride again.”

Then, my child started to fuss about being hungry, and while I was asking, “Do you want to eat?” there was an announcement on the boat saying, “There’s a whale at 2 o'clock.”

Suddenly, the boat was buzzing with excitement, and everyone was thrilled when they saw the whale's tail! We were able to see the tail multiple times, but since it’s a wild animal, it was at the whale's pace. We kept looking at the sea, and it was like, “Oh, it just spouted! I saw the tail!”

I was wondering, “Aren’t whales usually in groups?” and then we spotted another whale at 9 o'clock!

It was quite exciting! It was more thrilling than when we went to see dolphins. The dolphins were cute, but the whales gave a sense of the grandeur of nature, which was incredibly moving. It felt like discovering Mount Fuji??? Maybe because you can’t see them in aquariums?

On the boat, there were various activities like hula and ukulele lessons, and making leis, which were fun. It was a moment that everyone from children to the elderly could enjoy.

However, coffee, tea, and fruit punch were free, while other soft drinks and alcohol were at an additional charge... I thought it would have been nice if at least one drink was free.

Also, they take the promised photo when boarding. It’s a nice keepsake, so we always buy it, but the boarding process takes quite a while for the group to gather, so be prepared to wait patiently.

ランチ・送迎付きでの参加です。
ランチはまあまあ。送迎は、ピックアップ場所で待ってるだけよりは、それらしいバスを見かけたら自分から声をかけた方がいいなと実感しました。これは、このツアーだけでなく、他のツアーに参加するときもそうです。

ホテルで拾ってもらって、帰りはアロハタワーに残る事もＯＫのようでした。（行きと帰りの人数が違っていたので）

さて、乗船人数はかなり多かったですが、私たちはクジラはもう見れないかなーと思っての参加でした。
だから「再度乗れるよっていう券、くれるらしいよ~」なんて言って完全諦めモードで海を眺めてました。

そのうち、子供がおなかがすいたとぐずりだしたので「食べる？」なんて言ってたら、「クジラが２時の方向に居る」との船内放送がありました。

そうしたら、船内がザワザワというかキャー！というか、もうみんな浮き足立って
クジラのシッポが見えると　大歓声！
何度もシッポを見る事はできましたが、やはりそれは自然の生き物なのでクジラのペースです。
ずーっと海を見ていて　「あ、今、潮吹いた！シッポが見えた！」という感じでした。

「クジラって群れで居ないのかなー」って言ってたら、今度は９時の方向でもクジラが！

かなりエキサイティングでしたよー。
ドルフィンを見に行った時よりも盛り上がりました。
ドルフィンは「かわいい！」って感じでしたが、ホエールはなんか大自然の雄大さを感じるというか感激度もすごかったです。富士山を発見した時のような感じ？？？水族館などでも見れないという事からですかね？


船内では、フラ、ウクレレのレッスン・レイを作るなど様々な催しがあり、楽しかったです。
子供からお年寄りまでたのしめたひと時でした。

ただ、コーヒー、紅茶、フルーツパンチは無料。それ以外のソフトドリンクとアルコールが別料金だったので・・・・
どうせなら１杯は無料とかだと良かったのにな~と思いました。

あと、乗船の時に　お約束の写真を撮ります。
記念になるので我が家では絶対に買うのですが、撮影で乗船時にかなりもたつきます。グループで全員揃って、気長に待ってね。という感じです。

We participated as a family. The "Shaka" experience was incredibly scary, something you can't experience in Japan. My husband and I have recently gained some middle-aged weight... As we slid down, the speed was intense. Foreigners sitting on the bench were laughing at us! Of course, my husband was calm, while my face was pale and I was silent with fear, which made them laugh even more! Every attraction was terrifying for me (TT). But of course, the kids were having a great time, cheering and going from one ride to the next. After experiencing it a few times, I started to shift from fear to enjoyment. The artificial waves were quite strong. I couldn't ride the waves well and was quickly thrown out... But I didn't give up and kept challenging myself.

We arrived early in the morning and had plenty of time to enjoy until lunchtime. If you're with small children, a hamburger might be enough, but if you're with middle school, high school, or college students, you might need to spend a bit more on lunch.

However, we had a lot of fun. Since we left early, we could relax back in Oahu, which I think is great.

The pool is also quite nice, so please give it a try.

家族で参加させて頂きました。
日本では体験できないような「シャカ」とにかく怖かった。
主人と私は最近中年太り...。重さが均等なのか滑って行くとスピードも半端なくすごくてすごくて。
ベンチに座っている外国人の方も私達を見て大爆笑！
もちろん、主人は余裕顔。私の顔面蒼白な顔と声にならない声を聞いてまたまた爆笑！
どの、アトラクションも私にとっては怖くて怖くて（ＴＴ）
でも、勿論子供達は楽しく歓声をあげて次から次へ。
何度か体験していくうちに私も恐怖から楽しみに変わっていきました。
人工波もかなり強い波がやってきます。私はうまく波に乗ることが出来ずアッと言う間に波の外...。
でも、諦めずに何度もチャレンジしました。

朝一番に到着して、お昼を食べて帰る時間まで余裕で過ごせます。小さな子供さん連れならハンバーガーで充分かもしれませんが中学、高校、大学生連れともなると結構お昼代にお金が必要かもしれません。

でも、とても楽しく過ごせます。
時期的に帰りの時間も早いのでオアフへ戻ってのんびりできるのでとてもいいと思います。

プールも中々いいもんですよ、一度、行ってみて下さい。

I participated with my son. Until the day of the flight, I actually intended to pilot the plane myself, but since my middle school son was allowed to take the controls, he ended up piloting it＾＾. I observed from the back seat. A professional pilot sat next to him, holding the control stick at the same time and providing detailed instructions for takeoff. So there was no fear. We were able to see the beautiful Diamond Head and the blue ocean from directly above. At first, my son was quite nervous about his first flight, but as the Cessna glided through the sky, his tension eased, and he enjoyed piloting. The runway at Oahu Airport looked different from the view we usually have from commercial planes. It was also fun to taxi down the runway in the Cessna like a car. It was an experience we can't usually have! We enjoyed that together as parent and child.

Before boarding the Cessna, we received an explanation in front of the cockpit and went through a health check. The staff were very friendly. Inside the office, there were many photos of celebrities taken with the Cessna in the background. I feel like I’ve seen the pilot's face on TV before.

We created wonderful memories together as a parent and child. There’s a video of the flight, and watching it still makes me excited. My son's current dream is to become a pilot＾＾. I definitely want to repeat this experience when we go to Hawaii!

息子と二人で参加しました。当日まで、ホントは私が操縦するつもりで居たのですが、中学生の息子でも操縦させてもらえるということで･･･息子が操縦しました＾＾そして私は後部座席から見学。きちんとプロの操縦士の方がお隣に座り、その席で同時に操縦桿を握ってくれて、細やかな指示で離陸。だから怖さはありません。美しいダイアモンドヘッドや青い海を真上から見ることができました。最初息子も初フライトにかなり緊張していましたが、セスナが上空を滑るように飛んでいるうちにその緊張も解け、操縦を楽しんでいました。オアフ空港の滑走路もいつもの旅客機からの眺めとは違って見えました。滑走路の中を車みたくセスナで走ったのも面白かったです。なかなか普段できないこと！親子でそれを体験してきました。
セスナに乗り込む前に、操縦席の写真を前に説明を受けたり、健康状態のチェックなどしました。スタッフの皆さんがとてもフレンドリーでした。事務所の中にはセスナを後ろにして写した、沢山の芸能人の写真が飾られていました。確かに、操縦士さんのお顔を以前テレビで見たような気がします。
親子でとても素敵な思い出ができました。フライトの様子を映したビデオがありますが、それを見ると今でもわくわくしてきます。息子の今の夢は･･･パイロットになることです＾＾
ハワイに行ったときは是非リピートしたいです！

We had such fun! Toby was the greatest tour guide, pointing out every site and giving both sides of the copter a chance to see it. This was the highlight of my daughter's and my trip! If you have only one choice for an activity, make it this one!

Nappy, our bus driver and tour guide, made our tour fun, friendly and informative! He is a great storyteller and really takes an interest in his guests. All day tours in large busses are often long and grueling but he took the time to get to make sure that everyone was safe and was able to enjoy each stop to the fullest. My cousin, who is a local but has never played 'tourist', thought he was wonderful! She said that she never thought taking an island tour could be so much fun. Mahalo nui loa, Nappy! You are 'no ka oi' and we love you!

Beautiful boat and very well run. The staff was great and we got to see whales.

Did not see whales on first trip. Saw a lot of whales really close up on rebook. Great time.

In mid-February, I participated alone. I quickly became friendly with two other solo participants and had a great time. The staff were also enjoyable and helped create a lively atmosphere. Next time, I want to learn from a very charming female photographer and participate in a way that allows me to dive deeper and longer.

すぐに、一人参加の二名の方々とうちとけ、
楽しく過ごせました。
スタッフの方々も、楽しく、盛り上げてくれました。
次回は、とってもチャーミングな女性カメラマンを見習い、もっと深く、長く、潜れるようになって参加したいです。

This was our second time to Oahu and our second sunset cruise. The first time was with Navatek and that was a nice cruise but we felt that one was overcrowded (we upgraded our cruise on both trips). The cruise on the Star of Honolulu was much more expensive than our upgraded Navatek cruise so we were looking for a much improved experience.

The Star of Honolulu cruise was VERY personal as there were very few people who upgraded to the upper deck package. Matt and Captain Roy were extremely attentive and a pleasure to be around.

Unfortunately it was very overcast and the ocean choppy for our voyage but the dining experience was first class. The jazz show was phenomenal as well.

The coach ride felt like herding cattle, and at the price of our ticket I would expect a more personal form of transportation (I realize a personal car required an additional upgrade, but would have expected something more intimate than a full sized tour bus). There was little to no information given

The Catamaran was great. Hosts were very friendly. We saw whales and dolphins. This is well worth the price. My whole family enjoyed the ride. Hawaii was more than we ever imagined. The view from the catamaran was great. See a couple of pictures.

This was a great tour. We had Keao as our guide and he was great!!!! He is very knowledgable and keeps the bus entertained. I would recommend this tour for everyone.

Our cruise on the Makani was amazing! The crew was superb and really made us feel like one of the family. Captain Jon was highly skilled, very confident, which made us all feel very safe, which was even more important because we had small children on board. We thank the crew for their service and we will definitely return!

Before going, I was surprisingly indifferent, thinking I would only catch a glimpse. After boarding, as soon as we set sail, we saw what seemed to be a spout. Then, while enjoying a meal (which was decent) and Hawaiian music, there was an announcement that we could see something at the 9 o'clock position. From there, it was amazing—two whales performed for about 20 minutes. I was so moved! Thank you very much. I might say it was just luck that I got to see them, but I am very satisfied.

行く前は意外と冷めていましてどうせチラッと観える位だと想って乗船、出港してすぐ潮吹きらしいものが、その後なんとなく姿らしきものが、食事（まあまあ）しながらハワイアン気分の音楽など楽しみながら居ると９時方向に観えるとのアナウンス、それからがもう大変２頭のショーが約２０分、
感激です！有難う御座いました、たまたま観れたと言えばそうなのかもしれませんが満足です。

Toshi, our pilot, was very informative and made our trip memorable. We bought the DVD of the trip so we enjoy it over and over. Thanks for a great time.

Once again this year, I had a wonderful time. At first, I heard the conditions were perfect, but unfortunately, I couldn't encounter them! In the evening, I was able to enjoy a cruise off the coast of Honolulu on the famous "Star of Honolulu," which included warm coffee. However, since I had a re-boarding coupon, I decided to give it another try the day before my return! I'm glad I did.

Seeing the whales swimming happily together was truly moving. When the ship was about to leave after the promised 30 minutes, the whales came close to the ship as if to say goodbye.

There were also ukulele performances and cultural activities, but I completely forgot about those and just enjoyed the experience.

I definitely recommend participating. After disembarking, you can climb the adjacent "Aloha Tower" for free, where you can enjoy a stunning view. (There’s also an old-fashioned elevator!)

昨年に続き、今年も楽しませていただきました。
最初は、絶好の条件！とのことでしたが残念ながら
遭遇できず！夜はディナーで有名な「スターオブホノルル」号で、暖かいコーヒーが付いたホノルル沖のクルーズと割り切ってしまうことも出来ましたが、
再乗船のクーポンを頂いていましたので、帰国前日にチャレンジ！　　最乗船して良かったです。
親子で、仲良く泳ぐ鯨の姿にもう感動でした。
３０分とのお約束があって船がその場を離れようと
していると、別れを惜しむかのように船のすぐ
そばまで寄ってきてくれました。

ウクレレや例のカルチャもあるのですが、
そんなことには、すっかり忘れて楽しみました。

ぜひ、参加をお勧めしたいです。
下船後は、無料で登れますので、隣接の「アロハタワー」に登ってみてください。絶景が楽しめますよ。（年代もののエレベータもあります）

Until now, I had only been on large ship cruises, but this time I chose a yacht. Besides us, everyone else was foreign, and I liked that it didn't feel like a "Japanese option." After boarding, the staff provided explanations in English, and although there were parts I didn't understand, it added to the excitement of being in a foreign land! The boat advanced into the sea, splashing water, and it was a luxurious experience to be so close to the staff as they raised the sails and steered the boat. We didn't see any dolphins or whales, though...

I would like to use this service again.

今までは大型船のクルーズばかりでしたが、
今回はヨットにしました。
私たちのほかは、みんな外人で、”日本人向けオプション”ではない感じが良かったです。
乗船後は、スタッフから英語で説明があり、わからない部分もありましたが、またこれが異国の地だという感じで気分が高揚します！
船は水しぶきをあびながら、海へつきすすみ、
帆をあげ、舵をとるスタッフの方々も間近で、
なんともいえない贅沢な時間でした。
イルカもくじらも見ることはできませんでしたが・・・。

また利用したいと思います。

This was a unique experience for me because I have never been on any sort of cruise ship before. Although the waves were a little choppy, overall I had a great time. The food is great (one star), service is good, and the atmosphere is satisfying. Just a little advice for all the couples out there who want a special "one-on-one" type of evening, spend the extra money to get a table for two. If not, you may end up sharing a table with another couple. I lucked out and the couple that was supposed to show, didn't. This is also a type of outing that is geared more towards tourists. So this may not be so entertaining for many of the locals. It also does get a little chilly, so bring some sort of jacket (for the men), or a jacket/shawl (for women). Overall, I enjoyed the quality and experience this activity had to offer. I would definitely do it again sometime.

I am just letting yoou know that The Polynesian Culutural Center was
soooo much fun!!!!!!! That was the best thing we did in Hawaii. We were
in Hawaii last year with our daughters and our schedule didn't work so
well for us to attend. When we went this year we felt bad that our girls
had to miss out on such a wonderful time. Everyone working there was so
helpful and very nice, and friendly. We are very glad that we did it this
year. IT WAS AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!!

We were able to see the whales, but it was only in the second half of the trip. The child who was eagerly searching in the first half got bored and fell asleep along the way. However, it was great that we were able to see them. The child enjoyed the lei-making and hula dance lesson experience more than the whale watching.

ちゃんとクジラは見れたのですが、見れたのは後半以降で、前半に張り切って探していた子供は、
途中で飽きて寝てしまいました。でも見る事が出来たので良かったです。
子供はホエールウォッチングよりもレイ作りとフラダンスのレッスンの体験教室の方が喜んでいました。

Thought it drug on longer than needed. Enjoyed the first 45 minutes then was ready to go back. Need to start the activities right away not at the end of ride.

We would definitely recommend this cruise. The food was delicious. We saw many whales and one of them even jumped out of the water. It was amazing. There is a lot of space on the ship to spread out and see the whales from many perspectives (I think it holds over 1000 people). And the crew kept us entertained with Hula lessons, lea making, and ukulele lessons. We have a toddler and there was plenty to keep her entertained and happy as well.

The transportation to the Cultural Center was great and the driver amazing. He was very friendly and the drive was gorgeous - including a view of the famous 'China-Man's hat'. He was helpful once we arrived as well. We had a great experience on the canoe but wished we would have had more time to actually visit the individual villages before dinner began. I felt like we missed out a lot not being able to visit the exhibits. The dinner was wonderful although we had a toddler with us and opted out a bit early to roam the grounds and get some energy out rather than finish watching the dinner show. The evening show was amazing and made the whole trip worth it. We slept on the way home and were very happy with the experience.

I had been to the center over 20 years ago & wanted to go back.
It was a nice way to spend the day. All the staff was great! The luau was really good food.
Had a great time & would recommend to anyone who is interested in this culture.

We participated as a family of five on New Year's Eve. We were blessed with clear weather, and it was a fun cruise. When the captain spotted a whale, there was an announcement, and while looking in that direction, we were able to see the whale's spout and back several times, and finally, we also saw its tail, which was great. The food was quite delicious as well. However, while the adults were fine, the children took motion sickness medication, but two out of three of them got seasick. In the latter part of the cruise, they served ginger juice, which helped a bit, but I think it would have been better if it had been offered a little earlier.

大晦日家族５人で参加しました。
晴天にも恵まれ楽しいクルーズでした。
キャプテンが鯨を発見すると場内アナウンスがあり、その方向を探していると鯨の潮吹きや背中が何回か見ることができ、最後に尻尾も見えよかったです。
食事も十分おいしかったです。
ただ大人は大丈夫でしたが、子供は酔い止めを飲んで参加しましたが３人中２人は船酔いしてしまいました。クルーズの後半ジンジャージュースを出してくれ少しよくなりましたが、もう少し早く出してくれるともっと良かったと思います。

Guide was good. Area is VERY crowded. Time allowed was kind of short. I felt rushed at the top to head down.

Driver Garfield was a hoot! He recommended Fumi's for Shrimp and he was right on the money!

We were a party of 6, including our newborn granddaughter who was only four days old. The staff went out of their way to be helpful to us. This was a GREAT experience, something we will always cherish! Everything that was offered happened. We seen whales immediately and the food was delicious.Thank You.

Very informative and sobering experience.

As a result, I chose the early morning plan, but unfortunately, I couldn't see the dolphins. (It was just bad luck.)

However, I was able to interact closely with the turtles and enjoy snorkeling! Above all, Peter, the local staff member, was very fluent in Japanese, provided excellent explanations, and was wonderful in his responses. We were able to chat during the transfer, and I was very satisfied with the experience.

As a side note, during the transfer from the hotel to the site, I was able to see the high school that President Obama attended and the Hitachi tree, and the staff during the transfer were also very good.

If I have the chance to go to Hawaii again, I think I will choose this plan again.

結果としては早朝プランにしたがイルカにあることは出来なかった。（これは運が悪かった）

しかし、亀にはすぐ近くで触れ合うことができたし、
シュノーケリングを楽しむ事ができた！
なにより現地のスタッフであるピーターさんが
非常に日本語も流暢であり、説明もうまく、
対応もすばらしかった。
移動中もいろいろと話ができ、とても満足のいく内容ｘでした。

補足ですが、ホテルからのピックアップから現地への
移動中にオバマ氏出身高校や、日立の木を見る事ができ、
移動スタッフの対応もよかったです。

次回ハワイにいけるようでしたら、またこのプランを
選ぼうと思います。
