Oahu
We went out to the middle of the sea on a small boat and were able to walk in the shallow water. There was a Japanese guide, so we enjoyed listening to explanations in Japanese. For lunch, we had hamburgers made by the captain, which we assembled ourselves with bread and vegetables, along with boiled beans.
I went on the 30th of December. My evaluation is... well, not much to say. The sandbar had beautiful scenery and clear water, which was wonderful, but the lunch BBQ was not what I expected. Contrary to my expectations, it was just a single hamburger. At this price, it's quite expensive.
During the trip, it started to rain, and everyone had to run to the bus, which was far away. It was unfortunate for those with children. I wish the bus could come closer. This tour includes tips, but when we got off the boat, they still asked for tips voluntarily, which left me feeling unsatisfied with the tour overall. However, I was satisfied with the sandbar itself.
I took my mother to Hawaii for the first time, and we participated in this activity where we could experience a museum, hula lessons, and lei making all at once. I've visited Hawaii many times before, but this place is an amazing hidden gem!!! The historical buildings are impressive, and the exhibits are wonderfully rich and engaging, making it easy to spend an entire day without getting bored. The hula lesson lasted a full hour, and the teacher was very easy to understand. Lei making was also fun, and my mother was very satisfied. I recommend this for both repeat visitors to Hawaii and first-timers!
I wanted to ride a yacht in the ocean in Hawaii, so I made a reservation after arriving in Hawaii. Compared to other yacht cruises, the price was reasonable, and I was very satisfied.
On December 30th, I participated with my family. We joined to see the sandbar, but on the day of the event, the seawater was up to our knees. The weather was sunny then cloudy, but it was definitely cold. I recommend renting a wetsuit at the sandbar (it's free). Many people were shivering in just their swim trunks.
After that, we started snorkeling following a quite thorough lecture. I've snorkeled many times, but the safety management was well organized, which made me feel secure. We were able to see sea turtles. Personally, I had seen sea turtles for three consecutive days, so I wasn't as moved by it this time.
The food afterward was delicious. I had researched the tide schedule for the sandbar in Japan and found out that the afternoon of the day we participated (I joined in the morning) was when the tide would be the lowest. However, it rained heavily that afternoon, and the wind was strong, so we couldn't really fight against the weather.
The staff were very kind, and it was a satisfying experience. Next time, I would like to try the sandbar again when the tide is low. Thank you, everyone.
Aloha! Thank you very much for spending the end of 2014 on this Captain Bruce's Paradise Ocean Tour. We appreciate you sharing various information during the tour. The sandbar takes on different appearances depending on the day and time. Please come back and visit us again! Mahalo!!

I go to Hawaii every year, but this was my first time signing up for this dinner show. After checking in at 6 PM, I was guided to the green room, feeling like a VIP.
There, I saw a Lady Gaga impersonator who looked stunning in a bubble-themed costume. After taking a photo with her, three waiters offered us welcome drinks, appetizers, and a fruit platter, and we toasted on a luxurious sofa!
Next, we were shown the star's dressing room and backstage. The guide spoke in English but mixed in some broken Japanese while explaining the stage setup, and we even got to take photos on stage.
As for the meal, we were seated at the front VIP table, and the portions were just right and delicious, featuring lobster, steak, salmon, truffle mashed potatoes, and fondant chocolate.
After the meal, an Elvis impersonator made his entrance. During the first song, he came down to the audience and presented leis to women, greeting them with kisses. The ladies were squealing with excitement.
Next, Lady Gaga appeared, captivating the audience with her dance and sultry outfit.
The highlight was definitely Michael Jackson. There were many women shouting "Michael! Michael!"
Finally, the show concluded with everyone singing "We Are the World," which was very moving.
After the show, we had the opportunity to take commemorative photos with the stars at the exit. MJ was the most popular, and we lined up in a long queue to take pictures. Even up close, he looked just like him!
The impersonators were not only similar in appearance but also sang beautifully live. It was my first experience, but I definitely think this tour is highly recommended.
Thank you very much for visiting us. We are delighted to hear that you enjoyed your time here. We sincerely look forward to welcoming you back when you come to Hawaii again.
I attended with my mother and my 5-month-old daughter. The food was very delicious, and the show was just the right length, so I was very satisfied. However, the price was a bit high. The fire show was shorter than I expected. If you only want to see the hula, you can watch it for free somewhere else and have a meal at another place. A high-quality all-you-can-eat dinner while watching a show outdoors is luxurious and has a nice atmosphere, which might be great for couples. Small children might get bored, be scared, or end up staying up too late.
Unfortunately, it was high tide instead of low tide, but it was still very moving. I was able to see sea turtles up close.
However, it was really cold due to the strong wind, so I recommend bringing something to keep warm, like a windbreaker in addition to a bath towel.
Aloha! Thank you for joining the Captain Bruce's Paradise of the Sea Tour the other day. Since it's a tour in nature, the sandbar varies in appearance depending on the day. Please come back to Hawaii to visit the sandbar in its different forms. We look forward to that day with the sea turtles!!
I enjoyed the show as it progressed while interacting with the audience. The food was also delicious. They took photos and later offered them for sale, but the total cost was $50, which felt quite expensive.
As expected and stated...can't ask for more from a tour operator. Show itself was not as good as Polynesian Village main stage show but buffet was 1000 times better and the Hilton show (as a buffet show) was far superior. You'll need to see the Poly Village to see the various cultural elements but save the luau for this one.
My girlfriend and I went to Wet 'n' Wild for a day and had so much fun, it was definitely one of the highlights of our trip to Hawaii!
Overall: the park is actually bigger than I thought, not crowded, food is good enough for the park food. The pick-up shuttle is on time, transition is smooth.
Rides: All the rides were in close proximity to each other and we didn't have to wait too long to ride them! Personally, I think the wave pool is the best/fun/entertained one, first time. Also the lifeguards are all responsible and on duty. I would recommend Wet 'n' wild for a fun day. We would like to come here again!!
I participated in whale watching, knowing it was the season for it. After being picked up from our hotel in Waikiki, we arrived at Kewalo Basin in about 15 minutes. Since it was morning, there was hardly any wind, and I felt relieved that we could set sail without worrying too much about seasickness. Out of the 15 people on board, half were Japanese, and there were many families with children.
After we set sail, we could see the hotels of Waikiki from the sea, which heightened our excitement, and we were very satisfied to see Diamond Head backlit by the morning glow. Suddenly, a flying fish zipped by in front of us, and the boat erupted with cheers. About 15 minutes after boarding, when we looked in the direction pointed out with “OVER THERE,” we spotted them—whales! According to the explanation, there were two mother and calf pairs that come to warm Hawaii for raising their young during this season before moving on to Alaska or Canada. I readied my camera and captured the scene of them spouting water, and after a few tries, one of them slapped its tail. After that, it dove deep, and nothing happened for over five minutes. They moved away.
As we waited for the next sighting, unexpectedly, we saw a spout from a different direction... After witnessing such scenes more than three times, we returned to port, feeling a bit reluctant to leave the whales. According to the captain, the whale watching season is from December to April. We were lucky to see them multiple times today. The day before, they hadn’t been spotted, and it seems December is still early for them. I truly felt that luck played a part in this experience. By the way, in the afternoon, there was an astonishing downpour. I really felt lucky to have spent such a fortunate time.
I was waiting at the meeting point ahead of time, but there was a no-show. The inquiry process was confusing, and I couldn't contact Veltra, so I ended up asking the concierge at my hotel for help. In the end, they claimed they went for the pickup but said I wasn't at the meeting point, without any apology. After an hour, I arranged a taxi myself to go there. Then, the weather got worse, and on the way back, I was made to wait a long time, only to get a regular taxi. It was completely different from the tour details provided, and it was truly the worst experience. I feel like I want to warn others about this.
The warning that the ship might sway didn't apply at all due to the great weather. I wasn't sure what the restroom situation was like, but there was one at the port before departure, and on the sea, there was one on the ship. From there, we could start our walks, meals, and snorkeling, so there was nothing to worry about.
Aloha! Thank you for joining the Captain Bruce's Paradise Ocean Tour. As you mentioned in your review, we typically use boats equipped with restrooms during the tour, so you can rest assured. Additionally, we have measures in place, such as using a small motorboat as a support vessel in case of emergencies. Thank you for sharing this information.
It was just my daughter and me participating. We were the only Japanese people there. It was not a problem that I didn't understand much English. I was looking for snorkeling without the need to wear a life jacket, so I could dive freely, and the staff was nearby. There were also buoy-like floaties, which should provide reassurance for those who are not confident swimmers. If you're feeling anxious, relaxing on the boat might be a good option as well. The staff also joined us in snorkeling and made it enjoyable. The sailing after snorkeling was fantastic. The view of Waikiki from the sea was a luxurious experience that is hard to come by. I will definitely participate again next time.
This was overall very very disappointing. We went on this tour on Christmas eve with our young family, our daughter was excited to go on one of the trolleys and sing Christmas carols, as she had seen them drive along Waikiki. Firstly there was no trolley, but a double decker bus. The driver explained at the outset that because they had changed to a bus, he would not be able to sing or talk along the way. It was promoted as 90 minute trip, but it was actually 45 minutes in total. The lights indeed were lovely but the experience was disappointing
Aloha BJAM,
Thank you very much for taking the time to share your experience. Due to the overwhelming popularity of our Honolulu City Lights program, we did make a last minute substitution from trolleys to double deckers, allowing more people to enjoy the beauty of our city lit up for the holiday season. The 90-minute experience includes time to get off and enjoy Honolulu Hale, the rides, booths, and festivities.
We understand your disappointment at the loss of Christmas cheer this change created for your daughter and your family. Your feedback is valuable to us and we will continue improving this experience for 2015 using the information you have passed along helping us give you both the holiday spirit and the aloha spirit that make your holidays full of joy.
Well worth the money. I love the food. Everybody was very courtious and helped every way they could. All the staff was so helpful to us. My fiance is in wheelchair and they helped in every possible way. We got to have captain help us up to top floor to see fireworks. What an experience I couldn't tell u anything bad about this. They let u smoke on top of ship which is a good nerve helper. I would totally do it again
Since the season has just started, it was initially quite difficult to spot any whales. Just when I was about to give up, the captain shouted, "Look!" and we were able to see two whales (maybe a mother and calf?). Thanks to the staff, we were able to see several more whales afterward. The professional eye is truly amazing! I was thrilled to clearly see the spouting, fins, and backs of the whales. I was surprised that we could see them up so close.
Since there were only a few of us, it didn't feel cramped at all. We could go up on the deck or sit back and relax in our own spots. There was a good selection of drinks, including orange, pineapple, and guava juices, as well as carbonated beverages, and I heard you could get alcohol for just $2. Snacks were also provided, and we could help ourselves freely.
The views of Hawaii from the boat, including Diamond Head and the rainbow over Oahu, were absolutely beautiful, and I was never bored while searching for whales. I had such a wonderful time that I would definitely like to participate again if I have the chance.
What a great trip. These guys are the best. It's a really good deal for the amount of time spent on the water and to have a crew that keeps you this entertained. I highly recommend it.
The sea was murky due to the storm the day before ( ; ; ) and the sky was cloudy. But! A rainbow appeared along the way ✨ and it lifted my spirits ♡ I want to go on a sunny day next time (..◜ᴗ◝..)
I participated in the evening event in late December. It was a bit chilly.
I got seasick, possibly due to the rain the day before. Even those who usually don't get seasick might feel more comfortable bringing medication.
There was a Japanese instructor who provided explanations, so even though the surroundings were filled with Westerners, I had a great time. I snorkeled with a few dolphins offshore, which became a memorable experience in Hawaii.
I couldn't eat at all because of the seasickness, but I was a little disappointed that they didn't allow us to take food home.

I participated with my 73-year-old mother.
First of all, I was surprised that we were the only two people on a large bus for an hour's ride from Waikiki (laughs).
It was farther than I had imagined, but the driver pointed out landmarks along the way, like "There’s Pearl Harbor," "Moanalua Gardens, Hitachi," and "Outlet," so we enjoyed it (even though it was in English).
When the tour started, we were the only two Japanese participants, and since the staff were locals, I was a bit worried. However, there was one person who spoke fluent Japanese, and they explained things clearly, so I felt at ease.
We moved to a spot to see dolphins, and we were able to see their cute figures.
After that, we moved to another point and started snorkeling. My elderly mother also got into the water and enjoyed it for a little while.
However, due to the current, it was difficult to return to the boat quickly. My mother, who wasn't used to fins, seemed scared and was peering into the water while holding onto the boat.
Even so, the water was beautiful and clear, and we could see many fish, which was enjoyable.
After snorkeling, we took a warm shower and had meal time.
We savored hamburgers and fruits.
On the way back to the harbor, we were lucky enough to see a whale, which made us very happy.
What I thought after participating in this tour is that it is not particularly aimed at elderly people.
I wouldn't recommend it if there are small children.
Since it’s not a tour specifically for Japanese people (it’s not overly accommodating; you need to take the initiative to enjoy it, like asking questions), I thought there might be some who wouldn’t enjoy it.
But we had plenty of fun.
Thank you very much.
It was well beyond my expectations food great views great, fireworks great, hawaiian dancing great. Well worth the money. Staff very friendly
The tour guides had great attitudes and were very nice especially when working on Christmas day. Only a 5 minute ride to turtle canyon where there were 5-10 turtles as well as a lot of fish. The water was very refreshing and clear. We saw Dolphins adter snorkeling and they literally came within 2 feet of the boat. This tour was extremely worth it. This is a must if you're staying in Waikiki and want to do a fun activity.
I only remember it being very cold and tough because I went in January. Even though it's Hawaii, I definitely don't recommend going in the middle of winter. I think it would be a lot of fun during warmer times!
It is a family-friendly water park!!
My friend and I enjoyed it a lot.
There are various types of water slides.
I wish there were more variety of food!
Everything else was good
In mid-December, I participated in the afternoon dolphin watching and snorkeling cruise.
While there are many tours aimed at Japanese people that consist solely of Japanese participants, this tour had only three Japanese groups and about six or seven groups of foreigners. My husband and I, who are not very good at English, didn't really interact with the other foreign guests, but since we were overseas, we were happy to feel more like we were abroad rather than being surrounded by only Japanese people.
There were about four staff members accompanying us. The staff seemed to genuinely enjoy guiding the tour, creating a very pleasant atmosphere. One male staff member spoke Japanese, which allowed us to understand the safety instructions and the flow of the cruise clearly. I brought my camera, but a female staff member dedicated to photography took plenty of pictures during the cruise, so we could focus on enjoying the tour without worrying about taking photos. The photos taken can be purchased at the end of the cruise on a USB memory stick. Although $40 is a bit pricey, it includes pictures taken while snorkeling in the sea, so I felt it was worth it.
During the cruise, a light jacket was sufficient. The scenery on the way to the dolphin viewing spot was beautiful, with not only the ocean but also the mountains visible from the sea, which was very satisfying.
The boat stopped once at the dolphin spot, and after a while, two dolphins came to play near the boat. Unlike at an aquarium, seeing wild dolphins so close that they seemed within reach, playing with the boat and catching fish, was truly moving! After enjoying dolphin watching at a leisurely pace, the boat moved to the snorkeling spot.
After being exposed to the sea breeze for a while, it got a bit chilly, but there were warm coffee, juice, alcoholic drinks, and delicious muffins available on board for us to enjoy freely. The warm coffee was very welcome for our chilled bodies. There were also chairs and tables, so it was nice to relax there until we reached the spot. The boat had a restroom as well, so we felt comfortable drinking fluids.
Before snorkeling, they provided explanations about safety and how to use the equipment in Japanese. I was initially hesitant to get into the water because I was feeling cold, but once I got in, the water wasn't as cold as I expected and was bearable. However, I couldn't endure snorkeling for a long time due to the cold, so I recommend wearing a wetsuit for those going in winter.
The sea was deeper than I thought, but wearing an inflatable life jacket made it easy to enjoy. Underwater, I saw many beautiful fish and corals. I also encountered a sea turtle, which is a rare experience to swim with! I got out early because I couldn't stand the cold, but the boat had a warm shower, which helped warm me up. That was a big relief.
After about 30 minutes of snorkeling, when the boat returned to shore, a buffet was prepared to satisfy our hunger. The buffet wasn't particularly delicious, but I thought it was good for a buffet included in this kind of tour. While we were eating, photos taken by the staff were shown on a screen inside the boat, so it would be great to decide whether to purchase them after seeing them.
They mentioned to bring a large towel, but since there was no place to change after getting in the sea, having an extra face towel to sit on would be convenient.
Regarding the content of the cruise and the staff's service, it was a highly satisfying tour, and I was glad I participated!
However, in our case, the date we had booked fell below the minimum number of participants, and we were informed the day before that we needed to change the date. We were told to call the Hawaiian tour company directly for possible date changes (which was difficult due to the time difference when contacting from Japan), and of course, the call had to be in English, which was quite challenging. In the end, the Japanese tour company contacted th

Loved it my kids got a chance to see dolphins, flying fish and whales several times!!! Absolutely worth the price and more!!!!
I had been interested in the sandbar for a while and decided to sign up! It was great that there was a pickup near the hotel, but I was confused at first because the person who came to pick me up was a woman, not Captain Bob. After about a 50-minute drive, we arrived at the marina, and it was just a short boat ride from there to the sandbar! Since it’s a bay, there were no waves, and even though I usually get seasick, I was fine this time without any motion sickness medication! We passed by a sea turtle spot on the way to the sandbar and were lucky enough to see sea turtles! I heard that if you're lucky, you can also see a school of manta rays, but we weren't able to encounter them, which was a bit disappointing! Since it was December, I was worried about the cold water, but we were blessed with clear sunny weather and had a great time at the sandbar! I definitely think it's a must-do when you go to Hawaii! Our guide, Yuki, was Japanese, very humorous, and incredibly attentive, which made the experience even better!
I'd like to sorry upfront for my candid feedbacks.
My main objective is to watch the whale; however, there was no whale to watch. The captain tried to raise the expectation of tour participants with somehow false alert such as "01 mile away from whales"... but at the end, no one could sense any whale signals. Even though, the Cruise offered other time to watch the whale, for foreign travellers like me, this is not a genuine gesture - it will be difficult for us to spend another trip to Hawaii for another Whale Watch Cruise. Thus, I suggest it should say that "the Cruise will go around Honolulu in an attempt to find whale, but chance to see whale depends on different factors. If you cannot see whale, take it easy and enjoy the sightseeing..." or something like that.
Lunch will be another area for improvement as the listed dishes are far away from similar one in other normal restaurants.
Other than the above, the trip can be a nice memory when participants can enjoy the beautiful landscape of Honolulu from the Ocean.
