I attended a relative's wedding in Hawaii... aloha

The day before, we had a family dinner and went to see the Rock-a-Hula show, which I had really wanted to see when coming to Hawaii. ☝️

It was the best show where I could enjoy it together with the cast, just as I expected. The staff were friendly, which added to the fun.

Next time, I will go to see it with my friends.

ハワイに来たら是非観たかった
ロック・ア・フラショーに行ってきました。☝️

期待通りにキャストと一緒に楽しめる最高のショーでした。
スタッフの方も気さくで愉しさが増しました。

次はお友達と一緒に観にいきます。

I attended in late October 2019. The venue was beautiful, and there were relatively few guests, allowing us to enjoy the show comfortably. The content was a fusion of rock, pop, and hula, including impersonations of Michael Jackson, which were entertaining. However, overall, I felt the material was a bit outdated and lacked excitement.

I think the show would be more interesting if it mixed new and old elements more effectively.

2019年10月下旬に参加しました。
会場は綺麗で、比較的客数も少なく、ゆったりとショーを楽しむことが出来ました。ロックやポップとフラを融合した内容です、マイケル・ジャクソンの物真似など、面白い内容ですが、全体的にネタが古く、イマイチ盛り上がりに欠けると思います。

新旧織り交ぜるともっと面白いショーになると感じました。

I was thrilled to see dolphins so clearly! I didn't expect to see them up close, so it was truly moving. The slide activity was incredibly fun!

イルカがばっちり見れて最高でした！
こんなに近くで見れると思ってなかったので感動でした。
アクティビティの滑り台が最高に楽しかったです！

It’s an experiential luau that families with small children and couples can all enjoy, and my family had a fantastic time! Before the show started, there were activities like fire-starting and making headbands using banana leaves, which kept the audience engaged. They celebrated guests who were there for special occasions on stage, danced with the audience, and above all, the chief's stories were very entertaining, making us laugh from the bottom of our stomachs multiple times! The food and Mai Tai cocktails were also very delicious.

The final fire knife dance was impressive! My 2-year-old son watched intently without blinking!

Definitely experience Chief's Luau! The chief and the crew will surely entertain you!!!

小さいお子様連れの家族、カップル、全ての方が楽しめる体験型ルアウで、私達家族もめいいっぱい楽しませていただきました！ショーが始まる前に火起こしやバナナリーフを使用したヘッドバンド作り体験等があり、観客を飽きさせないような構成になっています。記念日で来ている観客をステージでお祝いしたり、観客とのダンス、また、何よりもチーフの話がとても面白く、途中何度もお腹の底から笑わせていただきました！食事やマイタイカクテルもとても美味しかったです。

最後のファイヤーナイフダンスは見応えありです！私の2歳になる息子も瞬きせずにしっかりと観ていました！

チーフスルアウ、是非、体験して下さい！チーフとクルーがきっと楽しませてくれます！！！

Very beautiful place and our family really enjoy!!

A vast land that served as the filming location for various movies like Jurassic Park. I realized my dream of visiting here someday. It includes three types of experiences and meals, allowing us to enjoy nature in three different vehicles. I think it's a tour that you can't find in Japan.

Along the way, the guide spoke and played music that made us feel like we were in the world of Jurassic Park, and everyone on the ride got excited and cheered loudly. I'm glad I experienced it. Next, I want to try horseback riding too!

ジェラシックパークなどなどの様々な映画のロケ地となった広大な土地。いつか行ってみたいと思っていた事が実現しました。3種類の体験と食事付き、3種類の車での自然を体験してみて
日本には無いツアーだと思います。
途中、同行したガイドの方がまさにジェラシックパークの映画の世界に居るような曲と喋り方で、乗ってるみんなで興奮して大声で歓声を上げました。体験して良かったです。次は乗馬も体験したいです！

Whenever I go to Hawaii, I usually spend my time at the beach and shopping, so this time I wanted to try something more active and joined a tour. However, the waiting time between each tour was boring, especially with kids. There wasn't really anywhere to pass the time...

I think the tour content would be enjoyable for movie fans (those who know a lot about it). I only knew a little (and just some parts), so I started to find the tour tiring and wanted to go home by lunchtime, haha. The bumpy ride on the jungle tour was more intense than I imagined; it felt like a serious version of Star Tours at Tokyo Disneyland, haha. I was so busy trying to keep the kids in check that I couldn't really enjoy the scenery. But since I had wanted to go at least once, I’m glad I got to understand the content.

Since the time commitment is long, I think for those who are just a little interested, it would be sufficient to just stop by with a rental car. The ocean view from Kualoa Ranch was really beautiful and different from Waikiki Beach. I heard you can see whales in the winter, so I’d like to come back during that time. Sorry for digressing!

いつもハワイに行くとビーチ・お買い物だったので今回はアクティブにすごしてみたいと思い参加しました。
一つ一つのツアーの間の待ち時間が子供もいたので退屈でした。
時間潰せるようなところも特になかったので・・・。

ツアーの内容は、映画ファン（詳しい方）は楽しいんだと思います。
私は、少し知ってる（しかも一部）程度なので
途中からツアーがしんどくなりお昼時点で既に帰りたかったです　笑
ジャングルツアーの車の揺れが想像以上で東京ディズニーランドの
スターツアーズの本気揺れてるバージョンでした　笑
子供を抑えておくのに必死でそんなに景色も楽しめずでした。
でも一度行ってみたかったので内容がわかったよかったです。
拘束時間が長いので、少し見たいって方は、レンタカーで少し寄る程度で
充分かと思います。クアロア牧場から見える海はワイキキビーチとは違って
すごく綺麗でしたよ。くじらが冬に見えるそうなのでその時期にまた来たいです、話逸れましたが。

This cruise was a highlight of our trip. We spent our 34th anniversary with delicious food, wonderful music and great company. we had our own private table but had wonderful people sitting next to ours. The live music was relaxing and entertaining throughout the dinner. Our waitress was very courteous and helpful. We hope to spend another anniversary in the future on the Star of Honolulu!! This was my third time. Each time, I rate it as the most enjoyable activity for my family. The hospitality of the guides is excellent. The hamburgers on the boat are delicious too. Don't forget the $5 for beer. We always see sea turtles, but this time we were able to see a manta ray. Everyone was thrilled. I will work hard again to return to the sandbar soon.

これで、３度目でした。毎回家族で一番楽しかったアクティビティと評価しています。とにかく、ガイドの方々のホスピタリティがいいです。船の上のハンバーガーもうまいです。ビール代５ドルも忘れずに。毎回海がめは見れるのですが、今回はマンタ様を拝見できました。一同感激でした。早くサンドバーに
戻る為、またお仕事頑張ります。

I saw dolphins a few times. It might be a luxury, but this is my evaluation of the tour.

First, make sure to arrive early when boarding the boat. The staff will ask you to fill in from the back, but those who know will sit in the front.

Sitting in the front makes it easier to secure a spot near the staff who are aware of where the dolphins are, as people in the front will jump into the sea first.

Also, it’s inconvenient if there’s no basket for your belongings under you, so try to sit where there is a basket.

You will inevitably have to swim close to the staff. Other guests may kick you or push you aside, but keep moving forward without giving up.

After seeing the dolphins, the staff will say, “Those who haven’t seen a dolphin yet, please come to the front,” but those who are at a distance where they can’t see the dolphins at that point cannot move forward.

This is because those who have seen the dolphins do not give up their spots.

The staff warns not to touch the dolphins beforehand, but even when someone tried to touch them, they didn’t seem to pay much attention.

It’s possible that the group I participated in had a lot of people, and that’s why there were such guests.

At the very least, I felt that it was an unfair tour where some people could see many dolphins while others could not, even though we all paid the same amount.

I don’t think the number of people who can board the boat is the same as the number of people who can enjoy the tour.

It’s dangerous to be kicked by fins, and I think it would have been better to sign up for an experience where you can swim with dolphins at an aquarium instead of insisting on wild dolphins.

贅沢かもしれませんが、それでもツアーとしては
この評価です。

まず、船に乗る際は早めに行きましょう。
スタッフに奥から詰めるように言われますが
分かっている人は手前に座ります。

手前に座っている人から海に飛び込むため
イルカの場所を把握しているスタッフさんの
近くの場所を確保しやすいからです。

また、自分の下に荷物のかごがないと不便なので
下にかごがある場所に座りましょう。

スタッフさんの近くまで泳ぐのは必至で泳ぎます。
他のお客さんに蹴られますし、手で押しのけられますが負けずに進みましょう。

イルカを見た後スタッフの方が
「一度もイルカを見ていない人は前に」といいますが
その時点でイルカが見えない距離にいる人は
前に行けません。

イルカを見た人が前を譲らないからです。

イルカには触らないようにとスタッフの方が事前に注意していますが
触ろうとした人がいても、特に注意をしていませんでした。

私が参加した回が人数が多く、たまたまそういうお客さんだった
可能性もありますが、

すくなくとも、同じお金を払い同じ回に参加したとしても
たくさん見れる人と見れない人がいる不公平なツアーだと感じました。

船に乗れる人数とツアーを楽しめる人数は同じではないと思います。

フィンのついた足で蹴られるので危ないですし
別に野生のイルカにこだわらなくても
水族館のイルカと泳げるものに申し込んだ方がよかったと思っています。

It was great.
The jungle tour was especially good.
It had a cool feeling.
I want you to experience it.
If you go after watching the movie,
the enjoyment doubles.

What an experience!! Great food, entertainment and I think we got the best server!! Darian was amazing! Would do it again!

I did the Green Room package which was neat being able to go back stage to see how things work behind the scenes along with being able to sit right in front of the stage to eat and watch the show which gave you a great view being so close to the performers. I like how they always include a local artist to perform too, so you are able to see not only Michael Jackson and Elvis but someone local as well. It's also nice that everything is indoors so you don't have to worry about the weather ruining your plans.

This is my third Luau that I have been to so far and this one is by far my favorite! The crew is so nice and attentive and I loved how Chief Sielu is so family oriented. He made several points to bring guests on stage and include them in the show and they even had a special moment for two children through the Make A Wish Foundation that were there which was so sweet!
You are entertained all night long whether it's by the dancing, the Chief's jokes or the amazing fire dancers. I would also highly recommend the Royal package, we had great seats up front and were one of the first in line for the buffet.

The weather was nice, and walking in the great outdoors was very pleasant and enjoyable. The main trekking course was under construction, so we took a different route, but it was fun to have the guide explain many plants to us.

お天気も良く大自然の中を歩いてとても気持ちよく楽しかったです。メインのトレッキングコースは、工事中で、違うルートだったのですが、たくさんの植物をガイドさんに説明してもらい楽しかったです。

it was a whole day tour. the guide was fantastic and gave us a good history lesson all the way up . he was very good with is instructions and timings and gave us ample time to look around
great sense of humour and was very knowledgeable .

The weather was cloudy, but the sea was beautiful and we were able to see turtles. The guide was also kind, and we were able to take a lot of photos. It was great.

天気はくもりでしたが、海がきれいで亀もみることができました。ガイドの方も親切で写真をたくさん撮ることができました。よかったです。

We were picked up from a hotel near Waikiki and took about an hour by bus to the boat dock, from where we boarded the boat and headed to the sandbar!

For lunch, we were served hamburgers and drinks on the boat! They were very delicious!

There were also two restrooms on the boat.

The boat didn't sway too much, but if you're worried, it might be a good idea to take motion sickness medication before participating.

We joined the sandbar tour in the morning, avoiding high tide, and the water was still up to our thighs! The timing of high tide varies by season, so it might be good to check that before deciding on the tour time.

You can leave your belongings on the boat while taking photos and snorkeling at the sandbar. It was my first time snorkeling, but the staff taught us, and after a few tries, I got the hang of it! We moved the boat a little and, wearing safety jackets, we saw coral reefs and fish at a depth of about 10 meters. At first, I was a bit scared, but I was able to see the beautiful underwater scenery.

While swimming, I was lucky enough to encounter a sea turtle, which was a rare experience.

We could also see many sea turtles from the boat and managed to capture some great photos.

On the way back, you can change clothes at a restroom near the boat dock, but I didn't have time (the men's restroom had no line, but the women's restroom had a queue), so I wore my clothes over my swimsuit on the way back. I had a bath towel, but since I got wet, I laid down a few smaller towels on the bus. I recommend bringing a few larger towels to prevent the bus seats from getting wet.

The guide and the captain were very friendly and cheerful! I really had a great time!

ワイキキ周辺のホテルからピックアップして、１時間程かけて船乗り場までバスで移動し、そこから船にのり、サンドバーへ向かいました！

昼食は船の中でハンバーガーとドリンクが出ました！とても美味しかったです！　

トイレも2つ船の中についていました。

　船はそんなに揺れなかったですが、心配な方は酔い止めの薬を飲んでから参加されるといいかもしれません★

サンドバーは満潮の時間帯をずらして午前中に参加しました(^^)それでも太腿くらいまでありました！
時期によって満潮の時間帯が異なるので調べてからツアー参加時間を決めても良いかもしれません

船の中に荷物は置いてサンドバーで写真を撮ったり、シュノーケリングをします。
初シュノーケリングでしたが、スタッフが教えてくださり、何度かやったら習得できました★
サンドバーから少し船で移動し、海底10メートルほどのあるところで安全ジャケットを着用し
サンゴ礁や魚を見ます。
最初は少し怖かったのですが、とても綺麗な海底の景色をみることができました。

泳いでいる際にもウミガメに遭遇することができ、貴重な体験でした。

船からもウミガメをたくさん見ることができ、写真にもしっかりおさめることができました。

帰りは船乗り場近くのトイレで着替えることもできますが、私は時間がなく(男子トイレは並んでいませんでしたが、女子トイレは行列でした)水着の上が服を着て帰りました。
私はバスタオルを持っていましたが身体を拭いて濡れてしまったため、小さめのタオルを何枚か敷いてバスに乗りました。
バスの座席が濡れるのを防ぐため大きめのタオル
をいくつか持参されることをオススメします★

ガイドさんや船長さんがとても気さくで明るい方々でした！本当に楽しかったです^_^

The welcoming and the explanations after boarding were handled by a refreshing, handsome Japanese staff member, which made me feel at ease and enjoy the experience. It had been 20 years since I last swam, but thanks to the life jacket and the fins for my feet, I felt no anxiety. I was moved to encounter a large group of dolphins on both occasions. When I heard, "Look down at the sea! Dolphins!" and put my face in the water, I saw dozens of them swimming so close that I could almost touch them. We took plenty of photos with our phones in waterproof covers, and the videos of the dolphins turned out beautifully. Snorkeling was also amazing; I encountered sea turtles and got to experience the slide and stand-up paddleboarding, which was the best. The taro cheese burger was delicious too. When I made the reservation, I thought the price was a bit high, but considering it included the life jacket, snorkeling gear, a hamburger, and drinks, and especially the crew who made it fun, it was a very satisfying tour.

お迎え、乗船後の説明などずっと日本人の爽やかイケメンが担当してくれたので安心して楽しめました。
20年ぶりのスイミングでしたがライフジャケットと足に着けるフィンのお陰で不安に感じることなく、2回ともイルカの大群に出会えて感動しました。
「海側下見て！イルカ！」との声で海に顔をつけると、
本当に手に触れそうな近距離で何十頭が泳いでいきましたよ。
写真は自分達で防水カバーに入れた携帯でバシバシ撮って十分でしたし、イルカの動画も綺麗に撮れました。シュノーケリングも海亀に出会え、滑り台、スタンディングパドルも体験できて最高でした。
タロ芋チーズバーガーも美味しかったですよ。
予約する時はちょっと値段が高いかなぁと思いましたが、ライフジャケット、シュノーケリングセット込みでハンバーガー飲み物付き、何よりクルーが楽しませてくれてとても満足できたツアーでした。

I participated with my 2-year-old. We joined in the morning, but despite that, the sandbar was already covered by the tide and we couldn't see it. I wonder if we needed to take an earlier tour? However, my child seemed very satisfied floating in the waves with a float. It was a beautifully sunny day, and the ocean was incredibly clear.

For lunch, we had burgers with charcoal-grilled patties. They were absolutely delicious! Since my child can't eat hamburgers yet, I brought rice balls.

We were lucky enough to see not only sea turtles but also manta rays up close! In the end, after playing a lot, they provided warm drinks for our chilled bodies, which was very satisfying. The staff were kind, and it was reassuring that they spoke Japanese. I would love to participate again.

午前中に参加しました。にも関わらず、サンドバーはすでに潮が満ちてきていて見れませんでした。もっと早いツアーじゃないとダメだったんでしょうか？ですが、子どもは浮き輪で波に揺られて、大満足だったようです。良く晴れた日で、海がとっても綺麗でした。
お昼ご飯は炭火で焼いたハンバーグを挟んだバーガーでした。最高に美味しかったです！
子どもはまだハンバーガーを食べられないので、おにぎりを持参しました。
ウミガメはもちろんのこと、ラッキーにもマンタが間近で見れました！
最後はたくさん遊んで、冷えた体に、暖かい飲み物も出してくれて、大満足です。
スタッフさんも優しくて、日本語なので安心でした。また参加したいと思いました。

The sandbar was very beautiful, but it was about waist-deep and was more ordinary than I had imagined... It might have been better to consider the tide times before going. The sea turtle watching was amazing; I was able to swim very close to the sea turtles, and it was an emotional experience!

サンドバーはとても綺麗でしたが、腰くらいまで深さがあり、想像していたより普通の海でした…潮の満ち引きの時間を考えて行った方が良かったのかもしれません。ウミガメウォッチはとても近くでウミガメと泳ぐことができ、感動しました！

The weather was great, and I really enjoyed the sandbar! The staff were all cheerful and entertaining, which made it a lot of fun.

The show featured performances that closely resembled those of Elvis and Michael Jackson, and it was a two-in-one experience as we could also enjoy hula dancing. There was a great sense of unity between the performers and the audience, making it very exciting and enjoyable. Additionally, the meals were luxurious and served in generous portions that were more than enough to eat. Thank you for allowing changes to the standard menu. The welcome experience was also impressive, with hula dancing at the entrance, along with welcome drinks, snacks, and a variety of desserts. It was a very meaningful and fun time. I believe it's a show that you can watch multiple times without getting bored.

エルビスやマイケルジャクソンのショーがそっくりに演出されている上に、フラも見れるという一石二鳥のショー内容でしたが、出演者と観客との一体感もあり、
大変盛り上がって良かったです。また、食事も豪華な上、食べきれない程のボリュームもあり、食事内容も、スタンダードメニューからの変更も可能にしていただきありがとうございました。また、ウェルカム時のおもてなしの入り口でのフラダンスやウェルカムドリンクとスナックやデザートのサイドメニューも充実しており、大変有意義に、楽しく時間を過ごすことが出来て良かったです。何度見ても、飽きないショーだと思います。

The number of participants was too high compared to the size of the cruiser, making it difficult to find a place to sit during the cruise and at lunchtime, forcing us to stand the whole time. Additionally, the safety of snorkeling was entirely left to the individuals, with no supervision. Despite there being dangerous areas with depths over 10 meters, there were no staff monitoring the situation, nor were there any lifeguards available. It’s concerning that an accident could happen at any moment.

クルーザーの大きさに比べて参加人員が多く、クルージングの道中も昼食時も座るスペースが確保できず立ちっぱなし。またシュノーケルの安全面は全て本人任せで放置。水深が10メートル以上の危険箇所があるにもかかわらず、監視するスタッフもいなければ、ライフセーバーの用意もない。これではいつ事故が起きてもおかしくない。

I went with the Royal experience with my husband and 2 year old son. It was the first time Luau as a family. We absolutely loved it!!! The chief was very funny, and the show had a lot of audience engagements when the chief and his crews welcome audience up on the stage for dance and couple anniversaries. Food was very good and of course, the Mai Tai was amazingly tasty! Also, the activities before the show were really fun!!! My 2 year old son loved watching dances especially the last fire dance! He did not blink at all! I would totally recommend to everyone who has not experienced Luau but also to who wants more family oriented Luau experience.

My father really wanted to participate, so I was looking for an event that was accessible on foot from our accommodation, and I was able to find just the right one.

At first, I hesitated because the dinner package was a bit pricey, but I thought it would be a great memory for my father, so I booked a Golden Seat, even though I didn't go for the Diamond option.

Since seating is assigned on a first-come, first-served basis, I recommend lining up early. We were actually guided to the front row, where we could feel the heat of the flames and enjoy the show up close. It might have been a bit too close for taking commemorative photos, though...

I think my father was very satisfied and it became a wonderful memory for him.

父親が是非参加したいということで、宿泊地から徒歩でアクセス可能なイベントを探していたら、ちょうど見つけることが出来ました。

最初はディナー付きでもいい値段するなぁと躊躇してましたが、父親のいい思い出になるならということで、ダイヤモンドまではいきませんでしたがゴールデンシートで予約しました。

先着順で席に案内されるので、早めに並ぶ事をお勧めします。
実際は炎の熱さが伝わる最前列に案内され、迫力満点でかぶり付きでショーを見ることが出来ました。
記念の写真を撮るには少し近すぎたかもしれませんが…

父親も大満足でいい思い出になったと思います。

I was able to go to the Rock-A-Hula Luau green room package. I got to go explore backstage and get a tiny glimpse of how all the action happens. I also got to take a picture with Michael Jackson before the show. The staff and crew members were very kind and made sure that everything was to my liking. I described this show as a Luau like no other because it was a Luau with a twist. All the music were the classics from Elvis Presley and Michael Jackson with the local culture included into the dance routine and into the stage outfits. The show also featured a local girl with a beautiful voice. For those who would like to watch a Luau in cushioned chairs and indoors I would definitely recommend this Luau to you!

I was able to enjoy myself thoroughly in the seats in front of the stage. I appreciated the smooth change to non-alcoholic options for one person who couldn't drink. After the live show, we were also guided to the nearby fireworks that take place every Friday, which added to our enjoyment.

お酒が飲めない1名に対してノンアルコーへの変更もスムーズで有難かったです。ライブの後、毎週金曜日に行われている近くの花火への案内もしていただき更に楽しむことができました。

I splurged a little and made a reservation for a VIP seat by the stage. First, we took photos with the star (playing the role of Elvis Presley), then enjoyed some snacks while sipping Mai Tais at the VIP welcome reception. We entered our seats next to the stage through the VIP entrance, and started our meal from the menu in the attached photo. The show began around the time we finished eating.

We enjoyed performances by Johnny Fortuno as Elvis Presley, Corey Melton as Michael Jackson, and Siena Sousa (a singer-songwriter based in Honolulu), along with hula dancing by Rock-a-Hula dancers. The highlight was the fire knife dance, and we were thoroughly entertained in the best seats, leaving us very satisfied. Initially, I thought it was a bit pricey, but after receiving a 10% discount, I was very pleased with the experience and the content.

最初は少し高い思っていましたが、10%割引きしてもらって、内容もよく大満足でした。

On my first trip to Hawaii, I wanted to see an authentic hula dance show, so I booked this VIP course. I was excited as soon as I walked on the red carpet, and the welcome drink followed by dinner at the VIP seats was delightful. The lobster, along with the main steak and salmon, was satisfying in both volume and service. It was also great to be smoothly guided through the VIP entrance.

The show started with a surprise when a man was lowered upside down right in front of us (even though I had heard about it beforehand). The hula and Polynesian dances were of outstanding quality, and I was captivated by the professional performances. The dancers were incredibly sharp! The impersonations of Elvis and Michael were very well done, and the songs were perfectly suited to our generation (in our 60s), allowing us to enjoy the show from start to finish. The fireman show, where they handled flaming torches, left me in awe—how could they hold those?! I was overwhelmed the entire time.

I also purchased a photo taken with Michael, which became a wonderful memory. I would love to come back to see it again when I visit Hawaii next time.

初めてのハワイ旅行で、本場のフラダンスショーを見てみたいと思い、こちらのVIPコースを予約してもらいました。まず通されるレッドカーペットに気持ちが盛り上がり、ウェルカムドリンクからの、VIP席でいただくディナー。ロブスターをはじめ、メインのステーキ、サーモンなどボリュームもサービスも満足いくものでした。VIP用入り口からスムーズに案内していただけたのもよかったです。
ショーは、まず目の前に降りてきた逆さ吊りの男性に驚き（事前に聞いていたのに）、
フラ、ポリネシアンダンスはクオリティが素晴らしく、プロのパフォーマンスに釘付けになりました。ダンサーのみなさんの身体のキレがすごい！ エルビス、マイケルのモノマネも、非常に上手く、また私たちの年代（60代）にがっちり合った曲ばかりで、最初から最後まで楽しめました。 火のついたたいまつを操るファイアーマンショーは、目の前で見ても、何故あれを持てるのか！？ 終始圧倒されました。
マイケルと一緒に撮った写真も購入して、とっても良い思い出になりました。また、ハワイに来る際には観にきたいと思います。
