This is a must see for anyone visiting the island of Oahu! The Luau is a feast and the Horizons show is a spectacular way to end the evening. I would suggest that those planning their itinerary, schedule this event on their last night in Hawaii, so as to end with a bang.
Also, those traveling with children will find the tour of the different villages to be extremely educational.
Remember to bring extra cash for browsing the gift shops, tipping your servers, and just in case you want to purchase that DVD recording of the Horizons show to give the folks back home a taste of the whole fantastic experience!

This was a very good luau. Things to do for the kids, a good dinner and show. Wish we were given more time to look around and do things but our bus was very late picking us up. I would recommend this luau otherwise.

We had a great time! The food was good but nothing extraordinary. The actual location and grounds of the Luau are beautiful and we watched the sunset over the ocean. The dancers were very good, and our host, Linden, was absolutely wonderful. He is a crack up and came up with a lot of things to entertain us on the bus. The bar tenders were quick and you never had to wait long for drinks. Jasmine pours a killer Mai Tai. Also, the quality of the rum is good......no hangovers the next day.

My husband and I spent the day at the Cultural Ctr. the day after Christmas. Our tour escort "Cousin Will" picked us up at our hotel and guided us through the various villages throughout the day. It was an educational day and a lot of fun as well. We learned so much about the different cultures, their language, their dance and their stories. The luau was fun and tasty. The Horizon's show was a spectacular finale of the day, the best show on the island of Oahu. I would recommend this experience for any first timers to the islands of Hawaii. And it's true that you can't see everything in one day. I wish we could have stayed longer. Enjoy!

What a fantastic all-day affair!! The frequent "say aloha" prompts from the tour guides was a bit much and got old, but the actual activity was a fabulous and impressive one. We hope to return to Hawaii someday and will repeat this one. Do be aware that they charge extra for a tour guide, but it is worth it for the first time.

My favorite part of the experience was seeing the Samoan fire dancer at the end of the evening show, "Horizons". It was a beautiful, exciting and fun performance! He was also doing a cooking demonstration earlier that day at the Samoan camp. He was funny, charming, and kept us smiling. You can tell that he really loves what he does. I also loved how everyone who worked at the park seemed excited to share their culture.

Event was extremely well-organized... hard-working staff efficiently received, fed and entertained 800 guests in an outdoor venue over a brief timeframe. Optional transportation from Honolulu is advantageous because the guide promotes partying door to door and the bus driver is the designated driver. Buffet provided sufficient choices for a vegetarian!

Having made all the arrangements online, I was a bit nervous because this was my wife's 50th birthday celebration and we had 23 family members in attendance. The boat, food, service and ambiance were beyond my expectations! I would highly recommend this Sunset Dinner Cruise.
Great job to all those at Hawaiian Activities that had anything to do with helping me to put on such a great celebration for my wife and family.
Best regards!

This is actually my third time participating in this activity. Why do I join the Paradise Cove Luau? It's because I really enjoy it, and I believe it's the best luau on Oahu.
First of all, I definitely recommend Paradise Cove to those who are visiting Hawaii for the first time. The reasons are: it's reasonably priced for what you get, there are hula lessons and activities for kids before the show starts, and they provide transportation to and from the hotel.
However, I can't say the food is particularly delicious; I recommend participating mainly for the show. The relatively tasty dish was the fried chicken. As for poi (mashed taro, a staple food for locals, similar to rice in Japan), it doesn't taste great on its own, but when eaten with lomilomi salmon, it actually becomes quite tasty. Eating it with side dishes is definitely better than just having rice alone.
You can also enjoy the sunset and stargazing, so I think you can experience a side of Hawaii that you won't find in Waikiki. If you're a first-timer, why not give it a try? I'm planning to bring someone who is visiting Hawaii for the first time again next year.

Had a great show and good food.
I had two people which have trouble walking. The trek from the bus drop off, through the mall, to the ship was a bit too long. Also, I had a guest who is very particular about how his meat is cooked and they did not even ask how you want your steak done. Could improve on those two points for the benefit of us old folks!

I wish we had gone to the Royal Hawaiian Luau first since we went to another one on our first night in Honolulu and it was nothing compared to this one! The food was excellent! The teriyaki beef was tender, the kalua pork was incredibly flavorful (and they had a whole roasted pig as well!), the mahimahi was some of the best I have ever had and I even tried a bit of the poi (wasn't great, but I had to try it again!). The service was quick and friendly and the drinks were very yummy.
I liked the fact that the show is very engaging and all of the performers just shined on stage. It is a bit pricier than some of the other luaus, but it is definitely worth it!
