This was my third trip to Hawaii, and this time I chose the Rock-a-Hula show among many options. As the largest show in Waikiki that fuses Polynesian culture with rock, it was truly a wonderful experience. The backstage monitor tour I participated in was all VIP treatment, which was very moving.

First, we were guided to the green room where we received a welcome drink. Then, during the backstage tour, we were taken to areas not usually accessible, where we learned about the performers' costumes and props. We even got to wear some of the decorations used in the Polynesian show for photos, which was quite touching when I saw the pictures later.

The stage setup was fantastic, and the live band was powerful. Being seated in the front row center, I was completely drawn into the show. The performances of Elvis Presley and Michael Jackson's songs and dances were so incredible that I almost thought they were the real deal.

The fire show was also more impressive from the front row than when I saw it previously. The delicious dinner and the photo gift added to the overall satisfaction, making it feel worth more than the price paid.

今度で3度目のハワイ旅行で、今回は数あるショーの中でロック・ア・フラショーを選択しました。ポリネシアとロックを融合させたワイキキ最大のショーと
いう名の通り大変素晴らしいショーでした。その中でも今回エントリーしたバックステージ付きのモニターツアーはすべてがVIP待遇で感動しました。
先ずはグリーンルームに案内され、ウエルカムドリンクがあり、その後バックステージツアーで、普段見ることが出来ない舞台裏に案内され、出演者の衣装や小道具の説明受け、そしてポリネシアショーで使う飾り物を頭につけて頂き
写真撮影をしてくれました。後でその姿をみて少し感激しました。
舞台装置も素晴らしく生バンドも迫力があり、VIP待遇ということで席も最前列の真ん中でしたので、ショーに引き込まれました。
ロックショーのエルビスプレスリー、マイケルジャクソンの歌とダンスは大変すばらしく一瞬本物にかと思うほどのレベルだと思います。
ファイヤーショーも最前列のため以前見た時より迫力を感じました。
美味しいディナーに写真のプレゼントも付き料金以上の満足感です。

I only used the buffet, but I was satisfied with the amount. It was nice to set sail before the sunset and be able to see the sunset from the boat. There were a few clouds that day, but even after the sun went down, the night view of Hawaii from the boat was beautiful. It was a bit chilly, so I think it's a good idea to bring a light jacket.

As for the cruise dinner, we started with a commemorative photo with the captain on the deck, followed by welcome drinks. After that, we were shown to our seats, and as soon as we sat down, the menu was served in order. It was great that each person could have three drinks. When we set sail, the captain came to toast with us. After that, there were shows featuring dancing, piano, and jazz, and everyone took the opportunity to capture the sunset and night views on the deck. By the way, the jazz had such a beautiful singing voice that even I, as a man, was captivated. The whole venue was lively, with people clapping along, and everyone enjoyed listening to the songs with smiles on their faces. It was a fantastic cruise dinner that perfectly capped off our honeymoon, and I am very satisfied. I would love to use this service again if the opportunity arises.

クルーズディナーの内容ですが、まずはじめに、デッキにてキャプテンと記念撮影をし、ウェルカムドリンク等をいただきます。その後自分の席を案内してもらい、席に着き次第、順次メニューが出てきます。1人3杯お酒が飲めるのでとてもよかったです。そして、出航するとキャプテンが乾杯に来てくれます。その後、ダンスやピアノ、ジャズ等のショーがあり、みんなその途中途中で、デッキにて夕日や夜景を撮影していました。ちなみに、ジャズは綺麗な歌声で、男の私もうっとり聞き入ってしまいました。会場全体も盛り上がるところは手拍子等をし、また、じっくりと歌を聴き、みんな笑顔で楽しんでいました。最高のハネムーンを締めくくるクルーズディナーとなり、大変満足です。また機会があれば利用したいです。

I used this for my honeymoon in Hawaii.

As mentioned in the reviews, the ship is quite packed. If you don't secure a window seat even with a 3-star rating, you'll end up sharing a round table in the center, so be careful!

The food was... okay. I recommend it if you want to experience the cruise atmosphere, but for some reason, the Hawaiian dance started only after the ship returned and docked, haha.

Overall, it became a fun memory. Thank you.

Worth it! I was always skeptical about going on dinner cruises and did not know what to expect but I was pleasantly surprised. To start off, the crew really does go above and beyond to ensure a perfect experience. You start the evening off with a Bellini toast and some delicious appetizers on the top, back deck where there is a ukulele player and a hula dancer. From there they take your party to your table on the inside top deck of the ship. Throughout the course of 7 course dinner, which was amazing, there are musicians playing. The music was perfect for dinner. Not too loud but made for a very enjoyable, entertaining evening. I would recommend the 5-star dinner for couples more than families with children. While it is enjoyable for the whole family, the ambiance make for an exceptionally romantic and memorable evening in Hawaii with that special someone.

Germaine's Luau - Fun Backyard Style Luau with Dinner, Show & Fire-Knife Dance

Exploring Oahu can be so much fun and Germaine's Luau is one of them! Mind you, I have been to mostly all the Luaus on the island but not for Germaine's. I was only convinced to try when many of my "social media" friends were posting and saying good things about it.
I'm a local resident here, and three of my friends from the mainland came to visit so we decided to join the Luau. They took the bus transportation from Waikiki provided by Germaine's and I drove to meet them there. I checked-in half hour early which gave me ample time to explore around the area and take photos. It’s actually a very nice place! Beautiful private beachfront setting with a view of the spectacular sunset!
We ordered the Hibiscus Package which included 3 drink tickets that I was given immediately at the time of check-in. We had a nice center seating section, which provided a better viewing of the Polynesian entertainment. On our way to the bar and to the buffet line, my friends and I decided to leave our sandals under our bench table and went barefoot through the sand because it was difficult to walk in. It was still a fun night, your feet touching the sand makes it a unique Luau experience.
Their drinks..I think their cups are small but since I got 3, it was just good enough for me! The food was delicious, and lots of Polynesian entertainment! All of my expectations were met. Definitely recommended.

Since I participated with a window-side option, I was able to see the sunset quite well. However, the best timing is when everyone goes out to the deck, making it difficult to watch from my seat. There were many participants, and it felt like it took a while for the food and drinks to be served. Still, I’m glad I participated because I got to see the main sunset beautifully.

This was my first dinner show other than hula, despite having been to Hawaii over 20 times.

First, I received a pass to wear around my neck and was allowed priority entry after watching the hula from a special entrance. Then, I was taken to the green room of Elvis's dressing room. While enjoying some snacks and a welcome drink, I chatted and took photos with a beautiful performer, and then the manager came to guide us backstage.

After that, we had dinner at a table right in front of the stage. I wasn't expecting much from the meal, but it turned out to be one of the top three best course meals I've had in Hawaii—it was incredibly delicious.

Just as we finished our meal, the show began. The performance was fantastic, with not only singers but also dancers who performed not just hula but ballet as well. The music was impressive enough to satisfy even those of us who are particular about sound quality. Since our table was right in front of the stage, we could hear the singer's breathing and footsteps, which added to the excitement. At one point, Elvis came down from the stage, draped something like a scarf around my neck, and surprised me with a kiss on the cheek!

After the show, I was able to take photos with the stars at the exit using my own camera, and I got autographs on the photos taken in the green room. The hospitality, food, and show were all wonderful, making it a dreamlike experience.

このショーも、歌手はもちろん、ダンサーもフラだけでなくバレエなどもされているようなパフォーマンスで、演奏もちょっと音楽にはうるさい私たちも満足するすばらしさ。テーブルが舞台の目の前なので歌手の方の息使いや足音も聞こえて迫力満点でした。途中にエルビスが舞台から降りて来られ、首にスカーフのようなものを掛けてほっぺたにキスしてくれてビックリ!!
ショーが終わっても出口でスターと自分のカメラで写真をとっていただけ、グリーンルームで撮っていただいた写真にサインしてもらえました。
おもてなし、食事、ショー、どれをとってもすばらしくて夢のようなひとときでした。

I made a reservation at a 3-star hotel this time.
The weather was bad, and I couldn't see the sunset, but I was lucky enough to see whales.

Paradise Cove Luau on the Beach at Ko Olina Resort

Most memorable part of visiting Oahu!

We ended up saving this activity for our last evening on the island (which was Monday, February 11th), and it was truly the perfect way to end our trip. The culture and setting of this event were brilliant, and the food was good with a fair amount of variety (I am a vegetarian, but my boyfriend RAVED about the pork).

If you are staying in Waikiki, make sure to give yourself plenty of time to get to Paradise Cove. We left around 3:45, and I believe it took us nearly an hour to get there, given the traffic. I would also strongly suggest flip flops or open-toed shoes, as the entire event takes place on the beach (I was silly and made the mistake of wearing tennis shoes). In February it was a bit chilly in the evening, so I would also recommend a light jacket and sunglasses.

The entire crew and cast were exceptional, and I appreciated getting a glimpse into the culture. Overall, my favorite experience while here.

I participated in the all-you-can-eat steak and crab course. There was a mistake with my reservation, and I had to add one more person at the last minute, but the process was smooth, so thank you. The food was a bit disappointing as the crab was too salty, but the show was very exciting and fun. Since it was Friday, the fireworks lasted about five minutes, but they were beautiful. The deck was quite windy and cold, so a thick jacket is necessary. The shuttle was also a nice bus. I had a wonderful time.

The backstage tour is truly a VIP experience. The "green room" pass handed out at check-in, the table code, the table napkins, and the survey forms are all green.

The term "green room" is said to have originated from Elvis Presley, who kept many plants in his dressing room for his throat.

Upon entering, I was guided to the green room where I was surprised by a welcome from Michael Jackson! I even got to take a photo with him. I enjoyed welcome champagne and snacks while chatting with a hula dancer.

After a while, the manager came to guide us. We walked through a hallway with the performers' schedules posted and finally headed to the stage.

I could see the audience dining through a thin curtain. They showed us how to change the stage lighting and change colors, and explained that the performers enter and exit through a stretch curtain. It was a space unlike anything I had ever seen.

Backstage, there were many costumes for quick changes. They explained that each performer has to change in a very short time, which conveyed the difficulty of their work. I got to wear a large headdress for Tahitian dance. It was so big that I discovered I had to maintain my balance while dancing.

I was so impressed when I saw this show about two years ago that I decided to take the backstage tour this time. Seeing a world I didn't know made me feel closer to the performers, and I enjoyed it even more than last time.

The behind-the-scenes of the stage is a world you can't see in everyday life. I had a truly wonderful time.

バックステージツアーは、とにかく　VIP待遇です。チェックインの時に渡される　「グリーンルーム」のパス、テーブルコードも　テーブルナプキンも　アンケート用紙も　グリーン。

「グリーンルーム」とは、エルビスプレスリーが　喉のために植物を沢山置いていた楽屋にちなんで　楽屋のことをそう呼ぶようになったのだそうです。

真っ先に入場すると　グリーンルームに案内されマイケルジャクソンの歓迎！にはビックリしました。一緒に写真を撮ってもらいました。
ウェルカムシャンパンとつまみを　フラダンサーとお話ししながら頂きました。

しばらくすると　マネージャーが案内のために来てくれました。演者のスケジュールが貼られた廊下を通り　いよいよステージへ。

薄い幕越しに食事中の客席が見えます。ステージのライティングの指示をして　色を変えて見せてくれたり　演者の出入り幕がストレッチであることを教えてくれたり　見たことのない空間でした。

舞台袖には　早変わり用の衣装が沢山置いてあります。それを　各々が自分で本当に短い時間で変えなければならないと説明してくれて　出演者の大変さが　伝わってきました。タヒチアンダンスの大きな髪飾りを被らせてもらいました。大変大きいので　バランスをとりながら踊らなければならないという新しい発見もありました。

2年程前にこのショーを観て　とても感激したので　今回はバックステージツアーにしました。知らない世界を見て　演者さんとの距離が縮まったような気がして　前回以上に楽しむことが出来ました。

ステージの裏側は、日常では見ることの出来ない世界です。とても素晴らしい時間を過ごさせてもらいました。

I participated in the Sunset Dinner Cruise (All-you-can-eat crab & steak) course.
It was cloudy on the day, so the sunset wasn't great, but since it was Friday, the fireworks from the Hilton were truly wonderful. I was surprised by the number of passengers, which was more than I had imagined; the dining experience felt more like a crowded and noisy banquet than a dinner cruise.
It wasn't really a leisurely meal...
We enjoyed the fireworks on the deck (it was cold, so my jacket came in handy).
After that, we had a great time with shows and dancing inside the ship.

サンセット・ディナークルーズ （カニ食べ放題＆ステーキ） コースに参加しました。
当日は曇りでサンセットが今一でしたが、金曜日なのでＨＩＬＴＯＮの花火はとても素晴らしかったです。想像していた以上の乗客数にびっくり、食事はディナークルーズというよりは込み合った騒がしい宴席って感じでした。

花火はデッキで鑑賞（寒かったので、上着が活躍）
その後は艦内でショーやダンスで盛り上がりました。

I participated in the backstage tour and VIP dinner course (front row table seats) with my parents in their 70s. Honestly, I thought it was quite expensive when I signed up, but I'm glad I participated.

Overall, my impression is that the level of the show was very high. The singing was powerful and enjoyable, and the performance quality was impressive. It was not just imitation; the content was quite authentic, and I was entertained until the end without getting bored. The hula dance level was also high and very impressive.

Additionally, the food was delicious! I had low expectations for the meal at a show, but it was very satisfying.

Perhaps because I signed up for this course, I had the best seats right in the center in front of the stage, allowing me to enjoy the show with great intensity. Since photos are also provided for free, I believe it was worth the price overall.

When I asked my parents what they enjoyed the most about this tour, both my father and mother mentioned this show. I enjoyed it myself, but what made me happiest was that my parents had a great time.

I have also participated in the Star of Honolulu dinner show, but I felt that both the quality of the show and the quality of the food were higher here.

70歳代の両親と一緒に参加しました、申込む時、正直高いな～と思いましたが
参加してよかったです。
全体的な感想として、まずショーのレベルがとても高かったです。
歌唱力が高く聴きごたえあり、パフォーマンス力も高かったです。
ものまねという域ではなく、かなり本格的な内容で最後まで飽きずに楽しめました。
フラダンスのレベルも高くて、とても見ごたえありました。
それと、食事がおいしかったです！
ショーの食事はあまり期待できないイメージですが、とても満足できる内容でした。

このコースで申込をしたからかステージ前ド真ん中の最高の席で
ド迫力でステージを楽しむことができました。
写真も無料でもらえるので、総合すると高い分だけの価値はあると思います。

両親に今回のツアーで何が一番良かったか聞くと
父も母もこのショーを挙げました。
私自身も楽しめましたが、両親が楽しんでくれたのが何よりうれしかったです。

スターオブホノルルのディナーショーにも参加したことがありますが
ショーの質、料理の質、どちらもこっちの方が高かったように感じます。

またハワイに来た時は参加したいと思います。
特に最終日の締めくくりに最適だと思います。

I participated in the 5-star course. I joined with a bit of nervousness, but the transition from the shuttle bus to boarding, the welcome drink, the photo with the captain, and the guidance to our seats were all very smooth. The hospitality of the crew helped to ease the tension of the other participants as well.

The course meal, along with three types of cocktails and wine, was delicious as expected. Each dish highlighted the flavors of the ingredients, and the presentation was beautiful. The cold dishes and sorbet were served with chilled forks and spoons wrapped in napkins, which truly reflected the 5-star experience.

What stands out in my memory is the changing colors of the sky and the night view of Honolulu from our seats on the boat, along with the silhouette of Diamond Head. Fortunately, I was able to see a rainbow rising from Diamond Head along with the sunset, making it a Sunset-Rainbow Dinner Cruise.

During the bright appetizer course, there was Hawaiian music, and as the sun set, we enjoyed lobster with jazz piano performance. For the main meat dish, there was a jazz live performance, and by that time, it had become completely dark.

It was a wonderful presentation where scenery, food, and music harmonized beautifully. Everyone, the 5-star experience has a dress code, which might make choosing an outfit a bit challenging, but I found it easy to participate by dressing up a little more than usual. ５スターのコースに参加しました。
少し緊張しながら参加しましたが、送迎バスから乗船、ウエルカムドリンク, 船長との記念撮影から席への案内がとてもスムーズで、クルーのホスピタリティに他の参加者の方々も緊張から解放されている様子でした。
コース料理に３種類のカクテル、ワインの美味しさは予想通り。それぞれ素材の味を生かし、色合いも綺麗で、冷菜・シャーベット時には冷やしたフォーク、スプーンをナプキンに包んで運ばれてくるところはさすが５スターと思いました。
振り返って目に浮かぶのは、船の席から観える刻々変わる空の色とホノルルの夜景、ダイヤモンドヘッドの山の稜線でした。今回は幸運にも夕日に加えてダイヤモンドヘッドから立ち上がる虹を見ることができ、Sunset-Rainbow Dinner Cruiseでした。
景色の明るい前菜時にはハワイアン、夕日の日没時はロブスターにジャズのピアノ演奏、メインのお肉料理にはジャスライブ、その頃には辺りはすっかり暗くなっていました。
景色料理音楽が上手く調和した素晴らしい演出でした。
皆さん、5Starはドレスコードありで、洋服が迷われると思いますが、いつもより少しおしゃれをするくらいで気軽に参加出来ました。デッキに出ると風が強いですが、寒くはなかったです。
