This time, my wife and I experienced horseback riding for the first time. We considered North Shore, but since my wife had her heart set on it, we decided to go horseback riding at Kualoa Ranch.

I thought two hours would be long, but it went by in no time. The horse I rode, Honu, was very intuitive and moved or stopped on its own without me having to do much at all (laughs). It was my first time riding, but I was able to enjoy it without any particular difficulties.

For our belongings, we could either use a paid locker for $5 or, if we had a small amount, we could borrow a bag for horseback riding to put our things in. It's important to note that you need to arrive and check in 45 minutes before the tour starts.

Also, video recording is generally prohibited for safety reasons, but taking photos seems to be fine. Although it was in English, they provided explanations about various landmarks along the way, as well as the history of Hawaii and Kualoa. Both my wife and I had a wonderful time.

I love Jurassic Park, so I was interested in this place. At the meeting point, Twin Fin Waikiki, I got flustered when they said my name wasn't on the list, but it seemed to be just an oversight.

The meeting point is easy to find, and since there are many buses stopping there, I think it's better to wait on the road. We arrived almost on schedule, and they provided guidance in Japanese for about half of the group, which was easy to understand.

For each tour, they tell you how many minutes before to arrive at the meeting point, but generally, they leave around that time, so I feel it's better to be there 5 to 10 minutes early. The meeting point is easy to find.

Lunch is a buffet. Even if you haven't ordered the buffet, there are places to eat. There is also a designated smoking area, which is reassuring for smokers. Actually, since there is quite a bit of waiting time, having a smoking area is helpful.

During the location tour, we get off the bus twice, but the rest is from the vehicle. The guide takes pictures of you being attacked by dinosaurs in front of the Jurassic Park sign. After that, we leave from the dock, which was also a filming location for Lost, and board a boat.

We cross over Moiliili Pond to get to the ocean, so there is a transfer along the way. Once we are out at sea, if you're at the front, you get splashed with water when the boat bounces. I think it was intentional, but it was exciting.

Since we had some time, I also rode on the boat, but I wonder if just the location tour would have been enough? If you love movies and have the time, I recommend it.

喫煙所もしっかりあるので、喫煙者にも安心です。
と言うか、待ち時間が結構あるので、喫煙場所があって助かります。
ロケ地巡りツアーでは、2回下車しますが、あとは車上から。
ジュラシックパークの看板前で、恐竜に襲われる写真をガイドの方が撮ってくれます。
その後、ロストの撮影場所にもなった船着場から出て、ボートに乗ります。
モイリー池を越えて海に出るので、途中乗り換えあり。
海に出て、先頭に載っていると、バウンドした時に下から潮をかぶります。
ワザとだとは思いますが、盛り上がってました。
時間があったので、ボートにも乗りましたが、ロケ地巡りツアーだけでも良かったかな？
映画が好きで、時間があるようなら、おすすめです。

After seeing off my parents and beloved dog, I returned to Hawaii for the first time in 10 years. I wanted to participate in this tour to enjoy snorkeling, which my active father loved. The crew mentioned, "You all are very lucky because the weather wasn't good until yesterday!" and we were indeed able to see the beautifully clear blue beach, which was amazing!

We found a net in the water and started playing volleyball with a friend, and soon Americans joined us. They cheered us on with "NICE!" when we did well and "Nice try!" when we made mistakes, allowing us to share a fun time together.

As a side note... it was fascinating how, just a few minutes after meeting each other without knowing names, we could all chase the same ball and celebrate together as a team, regardless of age or nationality. It made me wonder why wars happen.

After playing in the beautiful sea, the captain grilled delicious hamburgers for us! Thank you for the treat. A cute Japanese crew member (sorry, I forgot her name) provided very polite explanations, which made it easy to enjoy the experience. Thank you! 美しい海でさんざん遊んだ後は、キャプテンが美味しいハンバーガーを焼いてくれました！ごちそうさまでした。
日本人クルーのかわいい女性（名前忘れてごめんなさい）、とても丁寧な説明で安心して楽しむことができました。ありがとう！
また機会があれば参加したいと思います。

The explanation was in English, so I couldn't understand what the instructor was saying. I was at the back, so there was a lot of dust. By the end, my ears were filled with dirt, and my T-shirt had dust on it from the seatbelt. It's good to bring a change of clothes, but I recommend bringing a towel! It helps to wash your hands and face properly. Wearing long pants is necessary to block out the sun. They give you a neck warmer-type bandana, but I think it's better to have a regular mask underneath that. The course was magnificent, and the scenery was great. However, there was a delay because the car in front of me broke down suddenly, which caused us to take a shortcut on the course (as mentioned by a Japanese person who experienced it before). That was disappointing, and I was also let down because I requested the afternoon session, but the pickup was at 8 AM, and I had nothing to do until it started at 12 PM.

ただ、目の前の車が急な故障で止まって時間のロスがありコースをショートカットされてしまいました。（以前に体験した日本人が言っていた）それが残念⤵だったのと午後の部希望したのにピックアップが8時で到着してから始まる12時まで何もすることなくてがっかりでした。

It was more thrilling than I expected.
I can't speak English at all, but I was taught in a way that was easy to understand, so I had no problems.
However, it does get quite dirty...
I recommend participating in clothes that you can change into or that you don't mind getting dirty!
You can also enjoy stunning views, so I want to join a different activity next time!

Definitely recommend this activity!
I went with my mom, she does not know how to swim or is comfortable with the ocean, but somehow she managed to experience the sandbar and actually got in the water. This was a huge deal for her and it helped tide was low so she felt more comfortable.
Crew was amazing and engaged with all of us on tour! They helped those in need and made us all feel welcomed.
We would definitely book this tour again and bring our family with us next time!

Thank you guys! My mom wouldn’t stop talking about how much fun she had and how you guys made her feel safe despite her fear of water.

Even though it was sunny in Waikiki, as we made our way to the sandbar, the clouds started to gather and it rained lightly at the end. However, we were able to encounter sea turtles, and the snorkeling allowed us to see the fish beautifully, so I was satisfied. It was also fun to be surrounded by movie filming locations, and the explanations were well done.

I had a great time!
When we arrived at the site by shuttle bus, we were divided into Japanese and others, and the Japanese staff explained the day's schedule to us. (I'm not sure if it was because there were many Japanese people or if this is always the case.)
We had free time until our buggy ride, during which we could eat lunch and take photos. (You can buy burgers and other food on-site.)
Before the buggy ride started, we watched an explanatory video in both Japanese and English.
Driving the buggy wasn't difficult, and we could switch drivers along the way. Even my wife, who usually doesn't drive much, was able to drive without any issues!

The horses were truly clever, and we had a luxurious time. The staff members were also very lively. The course lasted just under two hours, and it went by in a flash. However, since we never got off the horses, I realized at the end that my legs (mainly my hips) were shaking without me noticing. There was a group of three women in their 50s and 60s who completed the ride, so I think it's manageable, but those who are extremely unsure of their physical stamina might want to reconsider.

We drove around the filming locations at a speed of about 30 km/h in a buggy. I’m embarrassed to say that at 156 cm tall, my feet barely reached the pedals while driving (crying). Since I tend to get car sick more than anyone else, I drove myself, but I recommend that shorter individuals have someone else drive. You can drive if you present a Japanese driver's license.

Several buggies moved along a bumpy road, providing an exciting experience that is hard to come by in Japan. The staff provided explanations during stops, but there were many things I didn’t understand, so I regret not studying more English to enjoy it even more. We wore bandana-like dust covers, but even so, we still got dust on our faces and bodies, so I recommend avoiding your favorite outfits. There are lockers available at the facility (I think it was around 1000 yen, and you could access them multiple times). 　ガタガタした道を数台が連なって進んでいきます。日本ではなかなか経験できない、excitingな体験でした。途中下車を挟みながら、スタッフの方々が説明をしてくれます。わからない内容も多かったので、もう少し英語の勉強をしていけば、より楽しめたのになぁと後悔しています。バンダナのような埃除けをつけた状態で回るのですが、それでも顔や体に砂埃を被るので、お気に入りの服装は避けることをお勧めします。施設にはロッカーがあります（1000円くらいだった気がします。何度も出し入れ可能でした。）。バギー終了後に水道＋石鹸で手洗いできますが、砂埃はいかんせん落ちにくいので、ホテル直帰でなければTシャツなどを余分に持っていくとよいかもしれません。

　上記は全て旅の想い出になっているので、総合的には大満足です。円安の影響で、昔と比べて倍以上にはなっていましたが・・・（泣）

I participated in a movie location tour while horseback riding! The tour lasted about two hours round trip. It was both of our first times riding, but the staff (mostly English-speaking) were very helpful in teaching us, so I think even beginners will be fine. Riding through the great outdoors and slowly visiting the filming locations was a luxurious experience, and I was very satisfied. One thing to note is that the tour goes on even in the rain (you can borrow a raincoat for horseback riding for free), so it might be a good idea to bring a change of clothes, or if you don't want to deal with the rain, consider joining another tour (using a bus).

I did a lot of research before experiencing this, and it was just so much fun! It said sandals were not allowed, so I went out of my way to get sneakers on-site, but there were some people in sandals. It was recommended to have a mask or bandana, and I received a bandana with the name of Kualoa Ranch on it! Everyone was provided with helmets and goggles to wear. Since it really is a two-hour ride, make sure to use the restroom beforehand. It mentioned that children from 5 years old can ride, but I think you can have them sit in the middle of the second row with a secure seatbelt and hold them during the ride. However, since you can't go to the restroom and can't turn back, it's better to think carefully about it. 体験するにあたり色々と調べて行きましたが、とにかく楽しかった！サンダル不可とあり、わざわざスニーカーを現地で調達しましたがサンダルの方もいました。マスクやバンダナがあると良いとありましたが、クアロアランチの名前入りのバンダナをいただきました！全員ヘルメットとゴーグルを貸していただき装着。本当に2時間走るので先にトイレを済ませておく事。確か5歳〜乗車可能とありましたが、2列目の席の真ん中に座らせてしっかりとシートベルトをし、走行中は押さえててあげれば乗れると思いますがトイレに行けないのと引き返せないので慎重に考えた方が良いですね。途中、雨が降って来てより楽しさが増して、水溜まりに突っ込んだり急な下り坂を飛ばしてみたり。年配ののご夫婦が付いて来れずスタッフの方が運転を交代していました。

Tom and Tommy, the staff, kindly taught us how to paddleboard! Both of them spoke Japanese well, and their explanations were entertaining, making for a really fun time! In the morning, we paddleboarded at Lanikai, and in the afternoon, we rented bikes and snorkeling gear to go snorkeling in Kailua! Both beaches were beautiful and amazing!!
