We participated as a family of five, including my 8-year-old son. On that day, there were a total of 13 participants, including two groups of two people from Japan, two young girls from Mexico, and a couple from Los Angeles.
Once we boarded the bus, the guide started speaking in natural-speed English, which might be a bit confusing for those who are not confident in their English conversation skills. However, I believe the activities can be managed through gestures and body language.
In the morning, we went downhill mountain biking, and in the afternoon, we hiked.
The downhill biking was exhilarating and very refreshing. Some other reviews mentioned that the speed was lacking, but considering there were 13 of us, including children, and the road had some cars and many curves, I thought the speed was just right.
We had lunch, including sandwiches, in a quiet park in front of a residential area. The vegetables looked fresh and were delicious. Various types of dried fruits and nuts were packed in zip-lock bags, which tasted great after the exercise outdoors.
After a short move, we took a bathroom break at another park, then changed into rubber boots and put on waist pouches before setting off for the hike.
At the entrance of the hiking trail, the sun was shining, and I quickly started to sweat, but soon we entered the shade of the trees, which was comfortable.
Overall, I think the hike involved quite a bit of physical activity. For those who don't usually exercise, it might feel tough.
I was worried about my son, but he seemed to enjoy it, sticking closely to the guide (even though he didn't understand English) and kept pace until the end.
At one point, the guide told him, "Don't step on my heels. Thank you," which made us laugh.
In the summer, there might be more mosquitoes, but during our breaks, I only got bitten once.
I wanted my children to experience something beyond just the beach and shopping, in an environment where only English was spoken, so this was a very enjoyable activity for our family.

This was a very very fun day. We got married on Thursday and spent Saturday on this tour and couldn't have asked for a better day. The guides were very knowledgeable and interested in our taking away a lot from the experience.
A word about the exertion level, the hiking is the most strenuous part of the day, but done at a pace that almost anyone can easily match. We are in our 50's and in good shape for our age and never felt pushed or overly challenged. That said, you'll know at the end of the day you had done more work than sucking down cocktails at the hotel pool.
Just do it.

I didn't know what to expect when I booked this tour since I was going solo. The staff is very friendly and on time. The first part of the tour is the hike up the Manoa valley 5 miles south of Waikiki. Highly recommended to wear long sleeves and pants if you don't like mosquitoe bites. The hike itself is fairly easy. Very doable for any age. The trip to the waterfalls itself is more enjoyable than when you get there.
The second part of the tour is the 5 mike downhill bike ride. I know, it sounds more daunting than it is. I haven't bike for almost 20 years but got the hang of it right away. You won't really need to pedal much as it is mostly downhill, rather you will need to use your brakes a lot. Fantastic view of downtown Waikiki and Diamond head crater.
Overall, I would highly recommend this tour to anyone looking for some adventure outside of the beach. Great experience!!!

I heard from an acquaintance that riding a mountain bike on Tantalus Hill feels great, so I signed up for this tour without thinking too much about it. When the van came to pick us up and we got on, the driver suddenly started talking to us in English, and then everyone else who got on was a foreigner, leaving my husband and me completely confused... We just felt like we had to go along with it.
As for the tour itself, the trekking was a bit hard, and the mountain biking would have been more fun if it had been a little faster. Later, when I checked the details, it clearly stated that it was an English-guided tour. If I could understand English a bit better, it would have been even more enjoyable.

This tour would have gotten 5 stars but for the tour guide whom we thought was not very good.
It's a 6 hour tour, comprising a hike through the jungle to Manoa Falls, and a bike down the Tantalus road with the spectacular views of Honolulu.
Pickup: was on time and easy in a minibus.
Boots: We had to prebook boots to trek the muddy trail, I booked boots from Australia (different size to US) and asked co. to check my sizings. Mattias, the guide, threw boots off car roof and random people took them to try. He didn't know whos boots were whos. Two of my family's boots were split letting water and mud in, defeating the purpose. My boots were taken by someone else, and I was left with too small boots. Mattias said I didn't book 'womens' size. ?? huh??and was unconcerned with my problem.
Trail: We were given water and trail mix, and a waist bag, and insect spray, which I thought was great. The trail was on private land and The jungle walk was lovely. It was extremely muddy, but had

The first half of the eco-hiking didn't use as much energy as I had worried about, and it was helpful that the pace was adjusted to match the other participants. The guide also explained the jungle in detail (in English), which made it very enjoyable.
On the other hand, the second half of the mountain biking was quite disappointing compared to the eco-hiking. First of all, the bike was not a mountain bike but a regular bike (the advertisement mentioned it had front suspension, but it didn't). While the scenery was indeed beautiful, the speed was very slow. The course was just a winding road on regular pavement, so there was no need to pedal at all, but the pace was so slow that I had to keep the brakes on. In any case, the refreshing feeling was lacking.
Additionally, a point to note is that there were only two toilet breaks: one before entering the jungle and one when exiting, and after that, there were no toilets until we returned to the hotel. This is something to be cautious about.
Since the first half of the eco-hiking was good, the second half of the mountain biking was a letdown, which is why I have highlighted these points.

Book this tour - if you love the outdoors and want a 'real experience' you will not be disappointed.
The bike ride is a great way to see the sights and is very relaxing. The bikes are very easy to ride and is mostly downhill.
The Hike allows you to get out of the concrete jungle and commercial centre of Waikiki, but be warned this is not a gentle 'stroll' this is a decent bush walk around 2 hrs, so make sure you read the recommended 'what to wear' list that is on the voucher. You will walk through a real rain forest and learn about the unique forest of Oahu along the way, so don't let a little mud scare you.
The boat ride and snorkel is a magical way to end an action packed day. Gear is provided. It was refreshing that the boat was not packed to capacity, and again was a 'real' experience. We swam with turtles and then sailed back to the marina, this was also a great way to see Waikiki from the water.

I wish there had been a more specific statement regarding the hike that you may get very muddy! They did have rain boots but you needed to have high socks so you wouldn't get blisters.
I didn't have the socks so ended up wearing my tennis shoes - there was no avoiding the mud - I had mud up to my knees - mainly from splashing - mud wasn't that deep.
There were lovely flowers and going in the midst of a banboo forest was amazing. We did see a poisonous tree frog - beautiful bright green and black.
The bike ride was a breeze literally and the half way stopping point has an amazing view of Honolulu!
The catamaran was a lot of fun - they knew exactly where the turtles come to get cleaned up by the fish - we saw 3 different sized turtles.

The downhill mountain biking was cool and refreshing. I can only imagine how much fun it would be if we could go to a higher place and go even faster! But we had a great time nonetheless.
The jungle hike was also interesting, climbing through the mud in heavy boots was quite a unique experience. It might be tough for beginners, but you can't find this kind of experience anywhere else.
The guide was friendly and truly felt like a professional from America. We were picked up at 9 AM and dropped off at the hotel at 3:30 PM, with just a restroom break in the early afternoon. This might be a bit tough for middle-aged women.
