I participated in a guided tour in 2013, and the guide (Mark) was kind and fun, which made it really great. So in 2014, I joined without a guide for a more自由な感じ. The ocean was incredibly beautiful, and it made me feel like I wanted to live nearby.

Kailua Beach and Lanikai Beach are beautiful, calm, and absolutely amazing! The sand is pure white, and the sea is a stunning cobalt blue, almost glowing.

Having experience kayaking in Kauai and Okinawa, my husband and I participated without a guide. It was so much fun and liberating! We enjoyed ourselves at our own pace, doing what we wanted, just the two of us.

What’s interesting about kayaking is that it’s easy to paddle and moves quickly, plus your viewpoint is close to the water’s surface. It feels like you’re one with the ocean, allowing you to enjoy the scenery fully.

We kayaked from Kailua Beach to Flat Island, then to Lanikai Beach, and back to Kailua Beach. Along the way, we took our time snorkeling at Lanikai Beach. There are corals scattered around, the waves are gentle, and we saw various fish. The sand at these beaches is so white and soft, it feels wonderful.

The recommended pizza for lunch was incredibly delicious! On the way back, we declined the shuttle and leisurely enjoyed sightseeing in Kailua. The bus that runs around the island is only $2.50, so if you want to enjoy Kailua town a bit longer, extending your stay is a great idea.

Carrying the kayak to the water is a bit challenging, but it’s a short distance, and I appreciate the American mindset of doing things for yourself and enjoying freely with personal responsibility.

The staff were all energetic, friendly, and pleasant. Thank you very much! If I go to Oahu again, I definitely want to kayak here!

カウアイ島と沖縄でカヤック経験があるので、夫と二人、ガイドなしで参加しました。自由でとっても楽しかった！自分達のペースで、やりたいことを、自分達だけで好きなように楽しめました。

カヤックの面白いところは漕ぐのが簡単でよく進むし、目線が海面に近いこと。
まるで海と一体になったような感覚で景色を楽しむことが出来ます。

私たちはカヤックでカイルアビーチ→フラットアイランド→ラニカイビーチ→カイルアビーチと移動しました。途中ラニカイビーチでは、ゆっくりシュノーケリングを楽しみました。
珊瑚が転々とあり、波も穏やかで、いろんな魚を見られます。
この辺りのビーチは砂が真っ白でサラサラで気持ちいいです。

ランチのオススメのピザがとっても美味しかったです！
帰りは送迎を辞退し、のんびりカイルア観光を楽しみました。
島を走るTHE BUSも＄2.5と安いので、もう少しカイルアの町を楽しみたいと思った方は滞在時間を延ばすのも良いですね。

カヤックを海まで運ぶのは少し大変ですが、短い距離ですし、自分のことを自分でやって、自己責任で自由に楽しむ考え方が、なんともアメリカらしくて私は好きです。

スタッフは、皆さん元気で親切で気持ちが良い方たちでした。
ありがとうございました！
オアフにいったらまた必ずこちらでカヤックしたいです！

The waves were quite challenging, but the scenery was beautiful, and I enjoyed it. The timing was just right. I was very satisfied with the staff's service, and it was fun.

The lunch pizza was as delicious as the reviews said. Be sure not to choose the loco moco!

I participated in a kayak tour. Our guide, Hide, provided thorough explanations, and even as beginners in our 40s, we were able to reach the uninhabited island without any help. My arms did get sore, but it was nothing compared to the excitement! The beauty of the Kailua sea and the sense of achievement from paddling there myself! Plus, the guide's fun tour around the uninhabited island made for an experience so wonderful that I lost track of time. The pizza for lunch was also delicious. I definitely want to participate again!

Perfect setup if you want to do North Shore, but Not sure what activities

My wife and I were staying in Waikiki for a week and everyone said we need to make a trip to the North Shore when on Oahu. We scoured Trip Advisor, Yelp and other Hawaii Adventure sites and this one looked appealing. Turns out to be a great deal if you are looking for transportation to the North Shore and a variety of options to choose from once you get there. We chose to snorkel in the mornng at Sharks Cove then spend an hour at Waimea Bay, then in the afternoon we did the SUP down the river in Halewia.
The tour is setup where they pick you up on a ~20 person bus from multiple Waikiki hotels, then up a narrated drive up to the North Shore which took about 1 1/2 hours all together. Sam was our host for the day and is awesome at his job. Very knowledgable, humourous and makes the tour a good time. Once you are there, you get to see the options for the day such as hanging at the beach of Waimea Bay, surfing, snorkeling, beach bike cruise, Waimea Botanical Gardens, stand up paddle boarding and probably a few others options that I am missing. There is no additional cost to do these unless you want to do more than two. If there was one draw back for the day, it was that we could have enjoyed a few more hours on the beach and shopping at the local surf shops there.
Overall, great trip and glad we did it!

The concept is great. Transport is reliable, clean and on time. The tour guide, Harry, was entertaining and very friendly. The only thing we would suggest is that surfing be offered as one of the activities - it is after all what the area is best known for!
I would recommend this for anyone who wants an active day.

North Shore Beaches Surf Bus Tour with Driver Sam

Our family of 6 adults from Brisbane Australia loved this whole day tour. Our driver / tour guide Sam picked us up from our hotel on time, & drove safely. He was so friendly and knowledgeable about Oahu, and explained all the sights on the way to the North Shore - he make the entire trip an awesome experience. He gave us a drive by & quick stop at each of the available activities before we chose them, then dropped us all to our chosen areas. 3 of us chose bike riding along the famous surfing beaches where we could stop and have beach time as we liked; the other 3 the walk through the beautiful gardens to the waterfall. Though a lovely walk, it is quite a long one, for anyone older. If you want a swim at the Falls, take cash for a compulsory life jacket hire! From there we walked back to Waimea Bay beach for a swim until our bus pick up. Our next activity for 4 of us was SUP (stand up paddle boarding) and 2 did kayaking. We LOVED this time on the water and would have liked to have a bit less time on the morning activities and more time for the afternoon ones! After, we walked through the town and sampled the Shaved Ice and some delicious lunch before boarding the bus completely satisfied with our day. We did several different tours while in Waikiki, and this was BY FAR the very best for the sightseeing, and activities on offer, plus the freedom to have our own time was fantastic. We were REALLY impressed with Sam the driver & happy to tip him well for his outstanding service - he contributed in a big way to making it the best tour during our time in Hawaii. Thank you Sam! I would highly recommend this tour, well worth it and we have great memories of our day.

After the check-in at Kualoa Ranch we took a shuttle to Moli'i Fishpond deck. When crossing the fishpond on a floating boat make sure to have your camera ready! It's the best time to take pictures of the majestic mountain range. The scenery is incredible, you feel like you are in a movie!

Once on the other side, we started enjoying our day at this beautiful private beach with views from Chinaman's Hat and Kaneohe Bay. They have restrooms, changing rooms, fresh water shower, covered picnic tables and a staff member to help you if you need anything. Make sure to bring sunscreen and some snacks.

My brother and I spent the morning kayaking, snorkeling, stand up paddling and playing games. The staff took us on a quick Glass Bottom Boat ride and we spotted a lot of green sea turtles! After all those activities we were just relaxing in a hammock under a palm tree.

I will definitely come back to enjoy another relaxing day there!

We participated as a couple without a guide. The man who provided the transportation and explained the kayaking was a bit unfriendly, but the other Japanese women gave us kind explanations. It wasn't a problem to go without a guide since my husband had experience. It might be tough for two women. The waves were calm that day, making it perfect for kayaking. However, we did some snorkeling and didn't see many fish. We did see two honu (sea turtles)! It was very moving.

Since our child can speak a little English, we decided to give it a try, but we couldn't communicate at all because we don't speak any English. We just followed everyone else. They probably explained the spots, but we didn't understand anything and just swam around aimlessly. Moreover, it wasn't very clean, and we ended up not feeling impressed at all.

The pickup was loose from the start. Just when I thought I should call after 10 minutes had passed, the ride finally arrived. From a distance, I heard a loud voice calling out, "Hurry up and come here," gesturing with his chin. If I had been short-tempered, there would have been a fight right there. After riding the bus for almost an hour, as soon as we arrived, the Japanese guide spoke so quickly and provided so much information that it was absolutely impossible to understand everything for the rest of the day. The only things I remembered were where and how to exchange for lunch and that our company had four showers. We were handed a special envelope for tips with instructions. The sea kayak guide confidently said, "Even if you capsize, I can right the boat and lift a person weighing 200 kg, so you'll be fine." However, as time passed, despite it being a guided tour, he said, "I'm not going today; only the customers will go." In the end, during the final briefing, the guide decided to join us. It was quite careless. Of course, we had to carry the boats ourselves to the sea. The paved road was fine, but it was quite heavy on the grass and sand. We finally arrived at the beach, and it was a struggle to float the boats and get on. The guide was nowhere to be seen; he was already at the starting point. There was quite a distance from the water's edge to the starting point. Was it our responsibility to get there? Perhaps that fast-paced explanation was for this reason?

In the end, we had to rely on the help of some Americans we didn’t know, and not the guide, to start paddling. Once we finally reached the starting point, it was just a matter of paddling. It didn’t matter whether the guide was there or not. We just had to paddle to avoid capsizing. We safely arrived at the uninhabited island and circled it. The guide explained various things here. On the way back, we paddled again. When we could see the starting point, the guide said, "Paddle over after I reach the shore." I understood that the guide was ahead because the beginning and end were difficult, so I paddled as instructed. Maybe I believed somewhere in my mind that he would help us if we capsized.

And then we capsized. Everything turned upside down, and I couldn’t tell right from left or up from down. But no help came. Right the boat? 200 kg? Those words felt empty.

My expensive shirt and hat, which I had just bought at the store right before the sea kayak tour, were swept away. I was so angry that I stayed in the water for a while until the guide finally came. All I could say was "the worst." I really wanted to say, "Everything about this tour is the worst!" Covered in sand and soaking wet, we carried the heavy boat. The guide had already gone far ahead. When we arrived at the store, I desperately looked for a shower. I couldn’t find the four showers they had boasted about. When I asked, I was pointed to a single outdoor water pipe with four faucets that were not spaced apart, none of which were even waist-high. One of them had a hose attached.

I realized that the high-quality showers often found at beach entrances were the best. The fast-talking Japanese guide kept looking at the clock while saying, "No need to hurry," and stood right at the bus entrance. We stuffed our wet belongings in a mess and ran. There was even a 75-year-old grandfather with us... I couldn’t even confirm if we had forgotten anything. I still think that a tip is unnecessary for such a tour, but my family put in a tip above the going rate into the designated box and even handed over Japanese souvenirs, making me tear up at how naive they were.

　結局全然知らないアメリカ人の手を借り、ガイドではなく彼らの力で私たちは漕ぎ出した。やっとスタート地点に着いたら、後はひたすら漕ぐだけ。ガイドなどいようといまいと関係ない。転覆しないように漕ぐだけだ。無事に無人島に着き、島を一周。ガイドはここであれこれ説明してくれた。帰りはまたひたすら漕ぐ。スタート地点が見えガイドは「私が陸に着いてから漕いで来て」と言う。最初と最後は難しいからガイドが先なのだろうと納得し、言われた通りに漕ぎ出した。どこかで「転覆しても助ける」ということばを信じていたのかもしれない。
　そして私たちは転覆した。すべてのものが逆さになり、右も左も上も下もわからない。でも助けは来ない。船を元に戻す?　体重200kg?　そんなことばが空々しい。
　シーカヤック直前にツアーのその店で買ったばかりの高いシャツも帽子も流された。あまりに頭にきてしばらく海から出なかったらやっとガイドはやってきた。「最低」のことばしか出なかった。本当は「このツアーのすべてが最低!」と言いたかった。砂だらけで水浸しのまま重い船を運ぶ。ガイドなんてずっと先を行ってしまった。店に着いたらとにかくシャワーを探した。4つあると自慢していたシャワーがわからない。仕方ないので聞いたら「そこ」と指差された。腰の高さもない外にある一本の水道管に間隔のない蛇口が4つ。その1つにホースがつながっていた。
　よくビーチの入口にある、砂を落とすためのシャワーは最高級だと知った。目の前にあるものは頭や顔の砂など落とせない。足の砂落としが精いっぱい。そんな状態なのに、朝はあんなに遅れたバスが待機している。早口日本人ガイドは「急がなくていい」と言いながら時計を何度も見てバスの乗り口にピタッといる。ベチャベチャに濡れたまま荷物をぐちゃぐちゃに突っ込み走る。75才のおじいちゃんもいるのに…。忘れ物がないのかもさえ確認できない。こんなツアー、チップなんて必要ないと今でも思っているが、家族は相場以上のチップを専用ポストに入れ、さらに日本土産まで渡し、どこまでお人良しなのかと涙が出てくる。
　人生で一、二番目に腹の立つ思いをハワイでするなんて思わなかった。
　このツアーは、どれをとっても満足できるものは何一つない。

Awesome time

This was a truly awesome experience. We had Sam as a driver and he was totally great. He navigated traffic well and all of his narrating was necessary, funny and enjoyable.
We had a slight problem in that we missed our pick up (oops!) but the company was helpful and told us where to go to get another pick up.
We did some bike riding in the morning, saw Pipeline and had a great time. In the afternoon we tried SUP and saw turtles! It was a fully awesome experience. So good getting out and SEEING the North Shore, not just taking pictures of it.

My first kayaking experience! 初カヤック体験！

It was my first kayaking experience, and I challenged myself without a guide! As a result, we were able to reach our destination island (Free Island) quite quickly, and paddling while chatting back and forth was a fun memory.

Although we didn't have a guide, we were able to watch some explanatory videos beforehand, and we could also observe other people kayaking (like foreign couples) to use them as examples. If there's a man around, you can manage without a guide (laughs).

It became the most exciting and fun memory I have in Hawaii!

The pickup staff's call was poor, and it seems like it took a long time at each location, which reduced our time on-site. However, the local staff were very accommodating, and we were able to have a great time. Kayaking on the river flowing through the resort area was also enjoyable. I highly recommend it. I would love to come back and take my time here.

ピックアップのスタッフの呼び込みが悪く、それぞれの場所で時間がかかってしまい、現地での時間が少なくなってしまたような気がしますが、現地スタッフの対応もよく、楽しく過ごすことができました。別荘地の中を流れる河川をカヤッキングするのも良かったです。ビザはお薦めです。また、ゆっくりと来たいところです。

My husband and I were disappointed with the tour guide. We felt he had a attitude about him and really didn't want to be there. At times we thought he was being rude in his manor and attitude. We went on another tour and the guide was so different and really acted like he wanted to be there. It made a big difference on the tour and made it much more enjoyable. The tour itself was great, but it could of been a lot nicer if the guide was more interested in the people on his bus and what he was doing.

It was a shame that we couldn't walk on the sandbar during high tide, but we got to see sea turtles, and kayaking and snorkeling were a lot of fun. My English isn't very good, but the instructor was very nice, and I had no problems at all.

満潮でサンドバーの上を歩けなかったのは残念だったけどウミガメも見れたしカヤックもシュノーケルも楽しかったです。英語あまり得意じゃなかったけどインストラクターさんとても感じよくて全く問題なく過ごせました。

I took this tour two years ago, but due to bad weather, we gave up going out to sea. Then, in 2014, I tried again, and the weather was perfect. The sea was beautiful as well. Additionally, our guide Mark was amazing. I caused quite a bit of trouble, but we had a great time. It's an activity I would love to do again.

This was a great tour. Our tour guy, I believe his name is Sam was very helpful and funny. Sam was also very knowledgeable and he made the tour a memorable experience for us. We like the fact that we get to plan out our activities and get to see couple places at North Shore. The only suggestion that we think can improve for the tour is the activities in the afternoon. There wasn't a lot of options in the afternoon activities like in the morning. Overall, we enjoyed the tour very much.

We participated as a family of four. Unfortunately, there was a problem with the pickup, so we didn't have enough time, which was very disappointing. We had kayaking, bodyboarding, and snorkeling included, but we couldn't do everything. For kayaking, we were upgraded to a guided tour as compensation for the trouble, and the guide was kind and made it enjoyable. However, it was very difficult for each of us to carry the kayak from the office to the beach.

Because of that, we ran out of time, and with only an hour left, we had lunch on the beach and managed to squeeze in about ten minutes of bodyboarding. We chose BBQ chicken for lunch, and it was very delicious. The guide told us that there were no coral reefs suitable for snorkeling at that beach, and since we were looking forward to it, it was really disappointing that we couldn't do it due to the lack of time. I think if we had more time, we would have enjoyed it much more.

時間に余裕がもっとあれば、楽しめただろうなと思っています。

In the first half, we played at the beach, and in the second half, we assembled the kayaks. The part where we went to the uninhabited island by kayak was sufficient for beginners in terms of physical strength and safety. It really sparked a sense of adventure, and the view from the uninhabited island was wonderful. Yasuyo, the Japanese woman who guided us, provided excellent explanations. However, due to traffic in the morning, the pickup was delayed, and we only had about 30 minutes to enjoy the beach activities (like snorkeling), and we didn't have enough time for meals; we needed about 40 more minutes. The kayaking in the second half was quite good, so I rated it 4.5 out of 5.

カヤックで無人島に行く部分は、体力的にも、危険の面からも、初心者には十分の内容。ワクワクする冒険心もかなり発揮され、無人島からの景色も素晴らしい。日系女性ヤスヨさんの説明もとてもよかった。
ただ、朝渋滞でピックアップが遅れ、前半のビーチで遊ぶ部分(シュノーケル等)は正味30分しかなく、食事時間も十分にとれず、時間的にあと４０分くらいは必要だった。
後半のカヤックが相当いいので、５点満点中４．５と評価。

I would like a bit more time for activities since there is a set pick-up time. The pick-up time is fine, but I would prefer the return drop-off to be around 4:00 PM! I was very satisfied with the staff's service and had a great time.
