After that, we practice in the river before heading out to the ocean. It was clear that the instructor is very knowledgeable about the waves and wind, which made me feel safe and reassured. If you move as instructed, you can't go wrong!

For those who will be taking the SUP lesson, I prepared various things like a camera, hat, bath towel, and mat, but when we head out to the ocean, it's hands-free! I was told by the instructor several times to come with a strong mindset (laughs). The staff were all really bright and energetic, making it a fun memory in Kailua. I will definitely go again!

You have to transport the sea kayak from the shop to the sea by yourself, but it was fairly easy because we attached wheels to the bottom of the kayak. It was a bit challenging after removing the wheels.

It was our first time kayaking, and getting in was difficult. Because of the waves, we couldn't get in as smoothly as we wanted... but someone nearby helped us, so we managed to get in.

Once we were out on the water, it was tough to paddle against the strong wind, but as we got used to it, it became enjoyable.

We went to Lanikai Beach and thought about trying snorkeling, but there weren't many fish. That was a bit disappointing. However, the ocean was incredibly beautiful.

We returned the kayak in the early afternoon and rented a boogie board to spend the rest of our time. Since there weren't many people, we were able to enjoy the boogie boarding.

There were also various activities like Segway tours, so if I have the opportunity to go to Hawaii again, I think it would be nice to try different experiences.

午後は、食事をした後、自転車を借りてサイクリングでラニカイビーチに行きました。カイルアも綺麗でしたが、ラニカイもとても素敵な所で、どちらにも行けて大満足です。

カヤックツアーに申し込む際に、ホノルルかカイルアか迷いましたが、カイルアにして大正解でした。ワイキキも素敵ですが、カイルアの方に自力で行くというのはなかなか難しいなと思ったので、ツアーも体験できて、違うビーチの雰囲気も楽しめて最高でした。
カヤック以外にもセグウェイ等色々あったので、またハワイに行く機会があれば、体験するものを変えて参加するのもいいなと思いました。

At first, I was worried that I might not be able to paddle out because the waves were strong and pushing me back as I was trying to get from the river to the sea. However, if you choose the right spot, you can definitely make it out to the open water. It was a lot of fun as we kept moving forward.

On the way, we landed on Flat Island, which had many wild birds that didn't mind having their pictures taken up close, so I could take as many photos as I wanted.

Since the kayak exposes your legs, I recommend applying sunscreen on them as well.

最初、川から海に出るところで波が激しくて押し戻されるため、漕ぎ出せないかもと不安になりましたが、場所を選べばちゃんと沖に出ていくことが出来ました。どんどん進むのでとても楽しかったです。

Our initial plan was to do some snorkeling, but at Kailua Beach, the wind was strong, the waves were rough, and the water was murky with sand, so we gave up on snorkeling. Plus, it was very cold! We had a nice day out. The kayaking trip was nice, not strenuous at all and fun to go with. It was just us two with our guide who took us out to a small rock island known for nesting birds. We didn't see any as we were there at the wrong time of year. It was still nice to have a little wander around. The guide was informative and flexible and took us for a kayak showing us a local beach After spending a couple hours kayaking we returned our kayaks and they provided two bikes and some snorkelling gear which was nice was to spend the remainder of our afternoon. Pick-up was punctual and hassle free. The staff were very friendly. Would definitely recommend. If you're after something a bit more challenging though, they do also do a longer guided tour to some cool looking island a bit further away.

I was moved by the beauty of Kailua Beach. In the morning, I rented a bicycle and took lunch to Lanikai Beach. It was quiet, relaxing, and I was enchanted by the beauty of the beach. I participated on Christmas Day. It was a tour that included only beach items and lunch, but I was able to rent a bicycle on-site and also visit Lanikai Beach.
It seems you can also bike to Kailua town, but I was told that there are no shops open on Christmas, so I fully enjoyed the beach.
There was enough time to enjoy just the beach.

We paddled about 500 meters offshore to Popoi'a Island from Kailua Beach in a tandem sea kayak. This time, there were three couples, including us, totaling six people. The ride to the island took a bit longer due to the side waves, but our guide was fantastic, providing guidance and encouragement throughout, with a couple of breaks along the way, which allowed even first-timers like us to enjoy it comfortably. Popoi'a Island is a sanctuary for birds, where we saw chicks, eggs, and parent birds warming their eggs, as well as sea turtles. The view of Lanikai Beach and the two islands offshore from the sea was incredibly beautiful. We arrived around 9 AM, and since our kayaking schedule was at noon, we rented bodyboards and went to Kailua Beach in the morning. The feeling of riding the waves all the way to the sandy beach was amazing, and I wished I could have played there all day. Our guide, Chiharu, was full of energy and smiles, making the experience enjoyable. She also provided various tips, so I was glad we chose a guided tour. However, it was unfortunate that the pizza shop was closed for renovations that day. The muscle soreness that followed in the days after became a good memory as well.

カイルアビーチから約５００メートル沖合にあるポポイア島まで二人乗りシーカヤックで漕いでいきます。今回は、我々夫婦を含めて３組６名。行きは横波の影響もあり、少し時間がかかりましたが、ガイドさんの誘導（途中で２回程度の休憩を入れ、みんなに声をかけ続け）が素晴らしく、シーカヤック初挑戦の我々でも気持ちよく楽しむことができました。ポポイア島は鳥の聖域で、ひな鳥、たまご、たまごを温めている親鳥に加えてウミガメも見ることができました。また、海側から見るラニカイビーチやその沖合の二つの島は、とても美しい。この日は、９時頃到着１２時からシーカヤックのスケジュールでしたので、午前中はボディボードを借りてカイルアビーチに行きましたが、波に乗って砂浜まで一気に行けた時の気分は最高でした。これだけでも一日中遊んでいたいと思いました。ガイドの「ちはる」さんは、元気いっぱい笑顔いっぱいで楽しませてくれました。いろいろとアドバイスもしてくれたので、やはり、ガイド付のツアーにして良かったと思いました。ただ、この日はピザのお店が改修中でお休みだったのが残念でした。また、翌日以降の筋肉痛も良い思い出になりました。

I was able to enjoy kayaking in the beautiful sea. It was a guided plan, and the guide was friendly, which was nice. However, it didn't seem like something that required a guide. It felt like information you could easily find online, haha. The flat island we landed on was closer than I expected; it's only about 500 meters from the beach. If you want to paddle a lot, I definitely recommend the plan without a guide. Also, getting the kayak to the beach was quite challenging. They do provide a cart, but it was a bit difficult for just women. A man from another group kindly helped us out. It would have been great if the kayaks were already set up on the beach. I’ve written a lot, but I think kayaking in Hawaii's beautiful sea will be a great memory!

綺麗な海でカヤッキング楽しむことができました。ガイド付きのプランでしたが、ガイドさんは気さくな方で良かったです。が、ガイドをしてもらうほどのものではありませんでした。ググれば出てきそうなことばかり、、笑 上陸するフラットアイランドも思ったより近い距離でした。ビーチから500メートルほどしかないそうです。たくさんカヤックを漕ぎたい方は断然ガイド無しプランがおすすめです。あとは、ビーチにたどり着くまで、カヤックを運ぶのが大変です。台車は貸していただけますが、女性だけではすこし難しいです。別のグループの男性が見かねて手伝ってくださったぐらいでした。カヤックはあらかじめビーチに用意しておいて頂けたら良かったです。いろいろ書きましたが、ハワイの綺麗な海でカヤッキングはいい思い出になると思います！
