Oahu
The driver was great! He shared all kinds of information with us about both the USS Arizona and the USS Missouri as well as Pearl Harbor. He was also able to give detailed information about each historical location we passes as well as Punchbowl Cemetary. It was a great trip worth taking!!!
Don't miss the tour of the USS Missouri
The memorial symbolises the start of WW2 and the USS Missouri the end
After all, this tour is primarily based around a trip to a cemetary. There really isn't that much to see of the Arizona itself, just some shadows underwater really. As I mentioned though, this is a little different to your average tourism spot, no "ooooh's and ahhhh's for the spectacular at the Arizona Monument.
The battleship Missouri is quite impressive though, the tour around the boat itself is quite interesting and is very much worth a look.
The city and punchbowl tour really isn't much at all. You basically drive in and out through the city, that's the tour pretty much. The Punchbowl Cemetary is a three minute detour and probably really isn't woth the bother for what you see there.
Thoroughly enjoyed this tour. The Driver (from Samoa) was very knowledgeable and entertaining about the Islands and the Arizone /Missouri. He made it well worth the time and money.
I would recommend this trip to anyone visiting the island for the first time. As long as the pick-up bus gets started, the tour is a fun and enjoyable one while learning a great deal about the history of Pearl Harbor. Tour guide was excellent.
An outstanding tour. We did the "Explorers' Tour" which was fascinating and John, our guide, was brilliant. A once in a lifetime opportunity to see the workings of a battleship and see what our brave men had to endure with 'life on board'.
I just want to say this was one of the most enjoyable, educational tours we've taken. 'Mr. Bill' our guide was very informative and had a sense of humor. I would recommend the full Explorer tour to everyone, you learn so much. As my father was on the USS Colorado for twenty years and I always wanted to know what life was really like during the war on one of these beautiful ships. It is really hard to imagine what our boys went through during WWII and have great admiration for all those that served.
The tour can't be called fun, but i can say "don't miss it". It's very informative, quite solemn (the Arizona portion) and something i think every visitor should take in. It was well organized, good timing, and did everything we hoped it would.
We were very happy with our experience and the staff was very friendly and knowledgeable.
This was a great tour. I am planning on doing it again in 2009. Our tour guide/driver, Art, was great. Great deal and very informative.
Your tour guide was Ron. He was the best tour guide anyone would want. He was very knowledgeable and took time to show us everything. Thank you very much. The MO is magnificent.
Great tour and guide
Pearl Harbor-Battleship Missouri Tour. I had randomly chosen this tour as a last-minute activity before we visited Honolulu. It was a wonderful surprise to have a very knowledgeable individual tour guide. The additional spaces we we able to visit on the ship were awesome and it was indeed worth price of admission.
It was the highlight of our Vacation! If anybody is interested in history then you need to go and do the tour ! We loved it!!!
My father fought in WWII in Italy, my brother was stationed off the coast of Vietnam for two tours, and my son is now serving in Iraq. To say the least the tour of the USS Missouri and the viewing of Pearl Harbor was emotional...just thinking about all who fought for our freedom and all who gave their life. Thank you for preserving history.
The tour was very enjoyable and the guide was fantastic. We learned a lot more about the events and places than we imagined.
Excellent experience. I would not miss it for anything. Will do it again the next time we are in Hawaii.
We toured the Missouri with our Children. The boys loved the guns and it was very interesting to see how they live. I would recommend this tour. The guide was very knowledgeable and made it interesting and not just something that she was there to do. She realy believed in the cause.
Well organized and informative, particularly the battleship Missouri
We truly enjoyed this tour.
We had a great time and the guide was very knowledgable and personable...thank you.
Our guide, Richard, was the best and was able to answer all our questions with candor.
Our bus driver was great and very helpful. We could not have seen all that we covered in one day on our own. The one day tour was well worth the cost.
We took the Explorer's tour and had a guide, he was very knowledgeable and this tour was the BEST of all the tours we took in Hawaii!
It was a good trip, the Arizona Memorial was awe-inspiring, the USS Missouri tour informed me of things I didn't. Also since it was the anniversary of the signing of the Peace Treaty, they were sprucing it up. A little disappointed couldn't get out in Punchbowl or downtown, but time constraints may have played a part in that.
Overall it was excellent, our tour guide was well informed and easy to understand.
Docent was knowledgable and patient and the tour was good. Descriptive plaques on key stations and hardware would be helpful to better understand how the ship operated.
Guide was knowledgable and patient. Particularly enjoyed description on Surrender Deck. Descriptive plaques on key stations and hardware would be helpful to better understand how the ship operated.
Unique experience ... would like to more of the inards of the ship though.
WOrds cannot explain this activity. My wife and I took a vacation to Hawaii as our yearly get away, no special occasion. I served in the military so this was a must for me to go experience. It was recommended for us to arrive early at pearl harbor. It's true that there is a massive line but I recommend that you go a little later than 6am because the line moves pretty quick. Let me explain the process because I did not see anyone mention it. The memorial opens at 7am and people enter inside the welcome center and get a card with a # on it, which puts you in a group. I estimate the group to be about 50 people. After that time, you just roam around the welcome center until your group # is called. Then you stand in line to go into a theater where you will see ACTUAL footage from the war and it's very touching and heart stopping. After that, you go outside to the water taxi (boat) which takes you out to the actual memorial. you can just feel the mood there. Some people can be disr
The Arizona and Missouri Tour was a great exprience and we learned alot about our nations history.
