We experienced horseback riding as a family. We went to the polo club by rental car and participated in a tour. The North Shore is truly a wonderful place, and it was an amazing experience to ride along the coast in the pleasant breeze. It was my son and son-in-law's first time riding, but the horses were smart, and they enjoyed it without any problems. Along the way, we took photos, and my son attached a GoPro to his arm to film while riding without any issues. We also had some commemorative photos taken, and even though it was in English, we received various explanations, making it the best memory of our trip to Hawaii.

I previously had a horseback riding experience at Kualoa Ranch, but the movie tour aside, the horseback riding felt very much like a "tourist attraction"—it was crowded, and we all went in a line together.

At Gunstock Ranch, my 2-year-and-10-month-old daughter could ride a pony, while my husband and I chose to ride horses. A staff member walked with my daughter's pony, and we followed behind on our own horses. There aren't many places that allow small children to ride alone, so it was a valuable experience! We chose a 20-minute ride, which was more than enough time for little ones! The grounds are incredibly spacious, allowing us to feel the great outdoors, and afterward, they let my daughter brush the pony and give it treats, which was really friendly of them. I definitely want to go back next time!

*However, there were no staff members who spoke Japanese. I don't think it would be too much of a problem, though.

Meeting at 4:30 AM was a bit tough, but the driver was very good at Japanese. After arriving at the location, there was a room for explanations aimed at Japanese participants, and the service was incredibly attentive and wonderful.

He really aims to please. I would say that we were a little too packed on the bus, it would have been preferable to have been on a smaller tour. Overall, you certainly get your monies worth!

We went to a fast-food restaurant, but it took about 15 minutes for the food to arrive, so time management is important since it doesn’t come out as quickly as in Japan. After that, we went horseback riding. We took a walk on horseback through a small hill covered with trees, similar to hiking. Riding on a natural mountain that hasn’t been maintained felt great. The horses are retired polo ponies, so they are well-trained and manageable even for beginners. It was a very enjoyable day. Thank you to the owner, Mark, and Uchida. 【For Participants】
1. Touching turtles is prohibited by law. There was a person monitoring the beach. If you get closer than 2 meters to a turtle, you will be warned. I was glad that Uchida informed us about this in advance.
2. A group photo will be taken. When we reached a photo spot during the horseback ride, the owner took a photo of each group. Since it will be taken with your own camera, bringing a camera is essential.

The owner will teach you how to ride in English and simple Japanese, so you can understand the atmosphere, but if you ask questions in Japanese, I think the answers will be in English, so a guide is needed. When the owner gave instructions in English while we were riding, Uchida’s interpretation was very helpful when I didn’t understand. 【参加者へ】
①亀に触ることは法律により禁止

現地でオーナーが馬の乗り方を教えてくれますが、英語と簡単な日本語でされるので、雰囲気で理解できますが、こちらが日本語で質問をしても英語での回答になるかと思いますのでガイドはいると思います。詳しい注意点等は内田さんが日本語でしてくれました。現地に日本語で馬の乗り方の説明書きが掲示されています。実際に馬に乗るときにオーナーが英語で指示してくれたが理解できなかった時に内田さんの通訳が頼りになりました。乗り手の知識不足による操作ミスでケガをするのはよくないので、安全に乗馬をするためにも、このツアーに限らず、日本語ガイドは必要だと思います。（過去の口コミで馬が前の馬を噛み、前の馬に蹴られたと書かれていましたが、馬は前の馬から2メートルは距離を空けるようにオーナー及び内田さんから注意をされていたので、乗り手がきっちりしていれば起こらないミスだったのかと思います）また、乗馬中のケガは自己責任になるという同意書を書かされます。これに関してはどの乗馬ツアーでも同じかと思います。トラブルのリスクを減らすためにも多少値段は上がっても日本語ガイドがあった方が無難だと思いました。
④長ズボンは必須
馬は馬自身の体型しか把握していないので、馬が通れるギリギリで木の横を歩くことがあり、人間の膝が木にぶつかりそうになりました。慣れてくれば馬に指示して事前に木をかわすことができますが、ケガのリスクを減らすためにもジーンズ等厚手の長ズボンをお勧めします。馬の背中は思っている以上に高いです。
⑤自撮り棒禁止
馬は棒を怖がるそうで馬の上では自撮り棒は使わないように言われました。すごく揺れるので写真を撮るのは難しいと思います。片手で手綱を握り、片手で撮影できるなら動画なら撮ることもできます。
【催行会社へ】
①貴重品の保管場所を作ってほしい
荷物は車内に置いて、手荷物はカメラとペットボトル程度にしてと言われました。馬につける小さなバッグに入る程度の荷物しか持参できません。車内は鍵をかけるから安全と言われまし、山の中なので部外者が車上荒らしをするとは考えにくいですが、万が一を考えると不安があります。馬鹿正直に貴重品も車内に置いて行った自分も悪いのですが。（ベルトラのHPには持ち物に両手が空くバッグと書かれていたので荷物は自分で持てると思っていました）ガイドさんによると、オーナーからあまり荷物を持たないでほしいと言われているそうです。確かにあの山の中で物を落とした場合、探すのは大変なのはわかります。お互いが安心できるように貴重品ロッカーがあればいいのにと思いました。

I have a fear of heights and can't even ride a Ferris wheel, but after seeing this zip line on TV, I really wanted to try it, so I signed up with my husband. To be honest, I was considering canceling until just before the event.

３名のガイドの方に１１人のグループで私たち夫婦が最高齢でガイドの方もそれをわかってかとても親切丁寧に接してくれていました。
初めの練習の時何度か躊躇しましたがここで飛ばなければ後がないと思いきりました（笑）
回数を重なるごとに高所恐怖症ではなかったのではと思うくらいで、最後は片手でカメラを回しながら飛ぶこともできました。途中途中いろんなアトラクションがあったり、ガイドさんのパフォーマンスがあったりとても楽しかったです。
申し込むとき料金高いなと思いましたがそれ以上に価値があったと思います。ガイドさんが写真を撮ってくれて購入することができましたが動画もあれば良かったなと思いました。
次回もぜひ参加したいです！！

The check-in process using tablet devices and the activities are conducted entirely in English. However, since there are quite a few Japanese participants, it all works out. The safety measures are extremely high to prevent any accidents. About ten people form one group, and three instructors accompany you. By the time you finish the seven courses, there’s a strange sense of camaraderie within the group. There are T-shirts for sale at the shop that the staff also wear, and the design is very nice (I purchased one). The group I joined finished around 12:40, and the return driver asked everyone for their opinions and took us to a restaurant famous for garlic shrimp in the Kahuku area. It turned out to be a very satisfying tour, as we were able to visit a place that would be hard to get to without renting a car.

The pickup was on time. It's a tour where even those who can't speak English can manage as long as they can say "yes" or "no." The pilot was very kind and talkative, which was great. The helicopter was an MD500 without windows, just as I imagined. (The first ride was a gentle line, but from the second ride on, it was a decent height and length.) We took a big jeep to the location of the lines after the first ride, so there was no turning back! I participated with my family, including a middle school student. We were able to fully enjoy the zip line in the great outdoors. As someone in my 40s, I was worried about my stamina, but it turned out to be fine (laughs). There were three instructors, and they were all kind and attentive.

I was worried about the rain in North Shore based on my experience, but the weather was really nice. The lush green scenery was wonderful.

The ziplining was refreshing as it cut through the greenery, and I felt great doing it. I was satisfied with the eight lines.

Not only did I glide through the greenery, but the heights and lengths varied, allowing me to enjoy views of the fields while zipping along, so I never got bored. The suspension bridge and other athletic-like activities were also fun.

I was able to experience things like letting go of the harness, starting backward, and even going upside down, which I definitely wouldn't be allowed to do in Japan.

The staff, who couldn't speak Japanese, did their best to explain things in simple English. I was very satisfied.

One thing I noticed was that tips were required separately, but no one was giving tips. When my husband gave tips to the three staff members accompanying us, they were very surprised.
